Fantasy Auraelion: The two worlds

Alex wandered away from the group as they were talking about the battles. She noticed so many adorable trinket stands. and then she found one that was selling trinkets that were based off of animals, so she walked up to the clerk and looked at her merchandise. Then she found something she swore she could not live without, it was a Golden Deer necklace. "Umm.. Miss how much is this?" She asked motioning to the necklace, The old lady with long white hair, looked at her "Normally it would be quiet expensive but for you its free dear." Alex thanked over and over again and then put it on her neck.

The old lady looked at her "That complements you quiet nicely dear. Oh i forgot to tell you, that necklace once belonged to a group of forest dwelling elves, it has magical properties." Alex just looked at her, "Oh well thank you again, i will repay you some day!" She sorta half yelled as she walked away and went back to the group, who were still looking at the billboard.

Alex walked up Anali, she knew she did not really know her heck she did not know anyone she had not even talked to her commanding officer. But she decided it was for the best, she tapped her on the shoulder. "Umm.... Im Alex, can i help you catch Clyde please?" She said in the nicest voice she had ever used.

Anali had actually been the only person to ever take notice of her, at the monastery sure it was just a wave but either way, as Alex was waiting for a reply she was playing with her necklace and, wondering what it could do. She hoped Anali would remember her or at least let her into the group. As Alex had not even introduced herself to anyone.

"I'll go with you, then. I'm sure I won't get in your way."

Recoiling at the statement, Nakir grit his teeth. Sure, he said he would pair with anyone, but Key wasn't exactly his first choice. Sure, the thing seemed strong and able to handle himself, but he was an irritating creature that already was always snapping at Nakir for something he said. He hadn't planned on working as a team with whoever he was paired with anyways, just using the other as a distraction, so it didn't completely mess up his plan. Still, he wasn't the happiest angel around. "Fine, that works. And again, don't get in my way or slow me down. If you do, anything that happens is just an accident." He brushed his hair away from his good eye and tapped the hilt of his sword with his free hand.

He was kind of glad things worked out the way they did, even if he would have preferred NOT to be working with Key. As he watched as Cerin paired up with the demon, he chuckled to himself. Good. Now that we have an angel on both teams, we are almost guaranteed victory. He had thought about teaming up with the other angel himself, but he had decided that she seemed too timid and clueless for his fighting style. Still, an angel was an angel, and he guessed she would definitely be a great asset to the beast. Of course, he kept these thoughts to himself, since he didn't feel like upsetting the thing he was teaming with too much, especially if they were working together. He'd prefer if he didn't need to kill him if he decided to attack Nakir during the fight out of hate.

Anali watched as everyone melded into teams to go out and do their different duties. Catching this Cylde person was a little more important to her than the tournament. She disliked fighting people who didn't deserve it. Hence why she was going after a cannibal. It was then, that she began to think about him. Did he really eat people, or was it just some sort of thing that happened, and the nickname was coined? Either way, 500 gold was a lot, even for a criminal. If they were giving out this money for his death, then they really wanted him gone.

She turned around to face Alex with a smile. "Of course you can!" She exclaimed, glancing over at the board, and then at Xerith. "I'm happy to work with anyone that wants to help." Which was true, even if they weren't the preferred people. She didn't know much about either of their fighting skills, or how they acted, really. Except for a Xerith. Sort of. She had a complicated way of analyzing people that, if she were to put into words, would take a party of linguists to try and decipher, even if put in a common language.

As it became apparent who was teamed with who, Eris nodded and looked over to her partner as she spoke, returning a smile and greeting. Recalling Cerin's abilities, she'd been relieved to have been paired up with her, but when it came to utilizing such powers, she, admittedly, was a little concerned. The angel's nervousness was something Eris hoped she wouldn't carry with her into the battlefield. However, Cerin did seem to take her duties as a guardian seriously, so the fact that she was determined was enough for Eris to have faith within her partner. "Let's win us an amulet, then." She smiled brightly.

On the other hand, she was curious as to how Key and Nakir were going to function as a team. Looking over at the duo, she forced herself to swallow the laugh that bubbled in her throat. Nakir didn't quite seem enthralled by the decision, and the way they interacted almost reminded her of siblings. The almost being the fact that when they threaten to kill each other, they mean it.

Alex having the ability to read minds understood Anali's worry's. "Its okay im not hotheaded or anything like that, theres a good chance you will not even know if im there or not. After all your the first person to talk to me out of everyone, well besides the old lady that sold me this necklace." She said in a soothing and calming voice.

Alex wondered if Anali knew she was a demon. Demons are not exactly something to be proud of. She hopped she would not half to show her true form at all, but she knew that she would come in handy for this quest or at least she hopped.

Elose wandered up to the billboard reading it rather quickly. The biggest poster caught his attention, Its basically doing what I'm doing now, protecting others. He listened to the conversations around him, about the tournament, which he decided to avoid, he wasn't the type of person who would strive in reasonless fights. Plus the two teams for it seemed to be rather well paired, even if the male angel was a little rough in his way of acting towards other not of his race.

His dark blue eyes shifted through the posters, there were several about criminals, one stood out slightly, Clyde the Cannibal. What an interesting name. he looked at the amount of money that was over his head and raised an eyebrow, other then the fact that he might eat people, he must be disliked rather strongly. Elose shook his head, already knowing he wasn't going to go after such a man, as that wasn't something he would do, he wasn't the bounty hunter type person.

A bodyguard however, is what he was. And why risk failing at something that you weren't trained for, when you can easily excel at something you are. Cassha the huntress, I've heard that name before, but I guess that could just be a coincidence. He let out a sigh and backed up slightly from the billboard, "I am going to go help with the tomb, if anyone would wish to come with me, you may." he said simply.

Anali nodded at Alex, letting the mind reading slide. After all, they were on a team, and a teammate shouldn't out another just because of something so little as prying a little in her mind. However, that just made her all the more worried about setting up blockages in her mind so that people wouldn't be able to do that. She quite liked her privacy. It was, after all, supposed to be private. "Well, I'm sorry that no one else has talked to you yet. You seem like a pretty nice person so far." She said, her lips curling up into a half smile.

She did know that Alex was a demon, as she was taught how to classify races pretty early on in her training. Angels, Demons, C'Thans, Humans, which were always the easiest besides her own race, Elves, and other things beyond those. And, on top of that, she liked all of them - as she wasn't a racist like some of the other people within their group. Not that that was a huge deal, anyway. It would be their choice, and possibly their downfall.

She turned from Alex, smiled, moved forward away from the group just before ripping a side note off of the board. It read where Clyde the Cannibal was rumoured to be, and other tidbits of information. It gave a list of his victims, and what ways others tried to take him down before - and obviously failed. She turned back around just long enough to announce to Alex and Xerith, "I'm leaving, so if you guys want to catch this guy, you better follow me."

Cerin nodded in agreement. She was extremely nervous, but, actually fighting should be pretty much the same as sparring... right? As the time of the tournament slowly grew closer, her anxiousness increased. Unsure of what awaited the two of them, she was about to have her title put to the test. She would be the only thing standing between one of the Children of Destiny, and death. No pressure. The world's not relying on someone who's never even really fought before, to keep someone alive, in a fight against others, who are more likely than not, more experienced.

Reality was a terrible thing. Consumed by doubt, Cerin nearly pulled Key aside, and explained the situation. She would have, but once again heard the voice from earlier. Glancing around quickly, she realized the voice wasn't actually a voice, rather, it was something coming from within her mind. Almost more of a feeling, than a voice. You really want them to doubt you? Your choice is your own, but know this: you can endure the Colosseum. You have the strength, and you have the wits to endure, and protect your Child. Your confession will only cause unnecessary panic, and distrust. Startled once more, she let out a slight gasp. What was that? Whatever the case, the voice(?) was right. She needn't cause any unnecessary panic. She'd been trained for this her entire life, and the temple had deemed her worthy. The temple would not have deemed her worthy without the faith of Ardyle. More confident in her abilities, now, she stood a bit taller. A bit prouder. Determined to succeed in the arena, she knew she would win. If worst came to worst, she would at least make it to see Key and Nakir in the arena with her.

Returning her attention to the others in the group, she spoke, "s-so, if we do get matched up against each other, who goes on?" Certainly, Key and Nakir would be better-suited to fight in the tournament, provided one of the pairs was forced to forfeit to the other, and quite frankly, she would prefer it that way. Though it was her duty as a Guardian, to help retrieve the amulet, and protect her Children, she wouldn't be horribly upset if Key and Nakir had to win the tournament.

Xerith nodded at Anali, "Very well, however lets go over what skill and training our has provided us, So that way in the midst of combat, no one is surprised by what anyone can do, or they are aware of what potential dangers their power presents." Xerith then pointed to his staff "If I scream batholith... it means take cover behind me...just trust me on that one. Other than that, I use fire in conjunction with most of my attacks, and I prefer melee over ranged. Then he motioned to his fellow team mates, "well how about you ladies? What skills and abilites do you bring to this manhunt?

An odd thought crossed his mind though, Wait... Anali...Alex...with me that's 3 Children... huh, Eris is the only one that is going to pursue the medallion I'm expecting a guardian to join this group soon. Tourny group will be fine, they have good fighters..support, and Key. On thinking of the artifical humans name, another thought entered his mind, He was fairly certain by now...Key and he were not on the best terms. There was that glance a few seconds ago, the lecture an hour ago... so many years of being penned in, now he was outside. Currently he had become fairly over the top. He was out yes. That didn't mean he had the right to act like a child, he was an adult, and in public to boot, right now he just needed to relax, otherwise he would be fairly certain he would be considered a more of a burden rather than anything else.

Nodding at Xerith as he spoke to show him that she was listening, she was absent-mindedly thinking of battle tactics having to do with a cannibal. Should they give him bait? Maybe they could go in there as people that weren't armed and dangerous, maybe a Glimmer, which was like an illusion, but on a slightly larger scale. It looked, smelled, felt, tasted, and sounded real, but it was fake. They could go in as bait - themselves, and then take the guy out, unless he had help with him. If logic served as it usually did, he had help. Henchmen who would capture the victims, and Clyde who would consume them, if that's what he did. They had no actual proof - yet - that that's what he does, or did.

As soon as Xerith finished his question Anali came back to the real world, smiling. "I use mainly electricity, with a side of fire. I like being closer, rather than far away, and I add a few of my own styles into my magic. Not sure if that makes me more dangerous or not, but we'll see. I've never actually been in a situation where I needed to fight someone in a real life situation. It's always been sparring, so I'm interested to see how this goes, because I've also never worked with anyone else before." She explained, and opened a small pouch on her belt, withdrawing three of her ten discs. She made them levitate in a triangle just in front of her, and shocked the first one, which shocked the other two, and made a pyramid of electricity.

Alex followed them, "Ummmm... do you think we will have many problems on this?" Then she stopped with a panicked look on her face "Do you think we will have to go into the woods?"

Alex thought that that would be the place where she would beable to help the most, after all this was the girl who had only animals as friends. She stood in one place pondering on wether or not she should go, she figured though that since she had asked she had too so she listened to what they had to say and coutinued on her way.

"Well, the tournament registration will start in about an hour, so maybe we should go through some tactics?" Key said, turning to Nakir. "It's really simple, you kill the one guy, and I kill the other, unless any of us gets some extra time.. I don't think the initial fights will be that hard, but we'll think of something for the finals." He didn't think teamwork sat right with Nakir, and honestly, they might not even need it. Most pitfighters weren't that strong.... But then again, you never know...

Time passed (if you wanna do anything, as always, retroactively do it.), and people starting gathering around for the registration. Luckily, Key had no sense of boredom, and so he simply stood were he expected it to start for an hour, and so he was first in line. The registration went by smoothely, and once they were inside the colosseum they were greated by a large man, dressed in a shining helmet and shoulderpads. No other armour than that, however. He said "Ah, more contendors. Just go down that hallway there, to the preparation area. Any weapons and armour are allowed, however killing your opponents earn you less points than just beating them, so don't do anything stupid."

The preparation area was just a large empty room with a small armory in one corner. Nothing but rusty swords and armour anyway, but it might be useful to someone who doesn't have ANYTHING. Either way, there were already plenty of contendors in the room. Huh, wonder when they got here.

Key and Nakir were supposed to be in the third fight, and Cerin and Eris were in the fourth. Well, at least they weren't facing eachother right off the bat. For the time being though, the only thing to do was to wait.

(Since you don't actually know where Clyde is, I'll bunny you if that's cool?)

The party going after Clyde walked far through the city, and eventually came to the enormous docks. This was a port town after all, and it was worthy of the name. The biggest ships you'll ever see where here. Walking east along the sea, they eventually came to a poor district, filled with underpaid fishermen and the like. This wasn't their destination, however, so they kept heading east, through the poorer district. The further they came, the fewer people were around, and in due time, there was no one around, and all the buildings looked old and ragged. No one seemed to have lived here for a long time, but despite that, crunching noises could be heard from one of the larger houses. Crunching and giggling.

(I'll bunny you for the time being, to move things along as well.)

Elose and Demitria probably had the most comfortable out of anyone. After heading to the stonewall building, they got a nice ride in a comfortable wagon all the way to the digsite. And what a digsite! Parts of old enormous towers laid uncovered, and large crystal spheres were floating around. Ancient magitechnology, and it was beautiful. The caravan stopped by a pair of stone gates, and some sort of mage went up to them, chanted, and there was a screeching sound as the gates opened. "Time for all of you to go ahead and investigate." Was all the information the head of the expidition gave to all the mercenaries. It was quite clear that they were using you to clear any traps in the ruins, but nontheless, this was what you were paid for, and some of the mercs seemed more than eager to accidently get their head chopped off by a trap for 50 gold pieces and the chance of ancient relics.

Cerin turned to Eris as they were allowed inside of the Colosseum. "No matter what happens, do you best to stick by my side." The two would fight better as a pair, and Cerin's magic both reacted quicker, and was easier to focus, when he target was nearby. A close proximity would allow her to concentrate on fighting, as well as use her spells to keep the two of them alive, and augment their attacks, if need be. Cerin was definitely more skilled, and as such, efficient, in shielding and strengthening herself and allies, than she was attacking with a more concentrated form of magic."What of you? Do you have any magic, or skills I should know of before our fight?"

Admittedly relieved at the announcement that killing the opponents was worth less than beating them into submission, she felt significantly better about the fights to come. Even if she failed, it didn't necessarily mean that the Child she was responsible for guarding, would die.

Looking around the preparation area, Cerin was hopeful. A number of would-be combatants were taking swords and armor off of the racks provided. Most of the weapons and armor were in less than fair condition. Those combatants would likely the first to fall. Other teams appeared to be more heavily-armed, and as far as Cerin was concerned, anyone who had their own weapons and armor to bring to the fight, would be more than a suitable challenge for the two.

Silently hoping they would be paired against a team using the provided equipment, Cerin waited. She pulled out her Tome of Ardyle, and studied the book, yet again, offering another prayer. Whatever happens in this arena, keep the girl safe. I beg you, keep Nakir and Key safe, as well. If any life among us should be taken this day, I gladly offer my own to you. Once again, she received no confirmation that the God neither heard, nor cared for her request. Irritated, she replaced her tome. Her entire life, she had served Ardyle, and he couldn't acknowledge this one request? Or, really, any request, for that matter.

Releasing a small sigh, Cerin began pacing. Somehow, it was comforting to her, hearing the dull, repetitive thud of her boots against the floor. She continued pacing, losing herself in the noise, and reflecting back on her days in the temple, to her sparring practices, and going over her tactical training again and again, refreshing her memories on proper maneuvers, and counter-actions.

"It's really simple, you kill the one guy, and I kill the other, unless any of us gets some extra time.. I don't think the initial fights will be that hard, but we'll think of something for the finals."

Chuckling, Nakir nodded. That was already the strategy he had planned, and he was going to use it whether Key agreed to it or not. It helped that it was the official plan so he didn't need to worry about unnecessary assistance. "I'm glad we're on the same page for once. If by some miracle you manage to beat your opponent first, stay out of my way unless I request assistance. I'll do the same." He didn't expect the fights to be very difficult at all. Since they were in an arena, the most likely weapons would be metal, and he specialized in electrical magic to the point of deflecting metallic objects. He may as well be a god in the arena.

Inside the colosseum, they were greeted by a large man in minimal armor. Nakir didn't see the point of the creatures attire. If he was going to wear armor, then why not a full set? Is the lack of protective gear supposed to show confidence? All it did to Nakir was cement his thoughts on the stupidity of humans.

"Any weapons and armour are allowed, however killing your opponents earn you less points than just beating them, so don't do anything stupid."

His eyes opened wide with a look of anger in them. No killing!? That was absolutely ridiculous! That would mean he couldn't just fry anyone he found necessary or impale them on the edge of his blade. He clenched both of his fists, waving one at the guard. "WHAT! What kind of colosseum is this where killing is discouraged!? That is the most stupid thing I've heard all day! Why in the world is slaying your enemy a bad thing?" Nakir knew that humans were stupid creatures, but this was beyond anything he had ever believed. That was one of the biggest draws to watch a fight, to see someone kill another. How was this place so popular?

After the confrontation with the guard had ended, Nakir had followed the rest of the group to the confrontation room. He seemed rather dissapointed watching people pick up the old rusted supplies that were up for grabs. He had hoped for a challenge of sorts, and anyone picking up those weapons were definitely not what he was looking for. Sighing, he pulled out his own scimitar and gave it a few practice swings to get in the zone. As he was swinging, a thought popped into his head. Turning towards Key, he spoke. "Hey, thing, I've got a question for you. How many other people know about the amulets? Is there a chance there are others here for the same purpose as us, to obtain it?" This prospect made Nakir slightly more optimistic. If someone else wanted what they did, then it would be likely they would have powerful people trying to get it as well.

As the three of the four Children walked along the barely visible path, Anali noticed giggling, and the crunching. She walked a little bit closer, and as it got slightly louder, she stopped, and turned back to the others. She wasn't very familiar with what generally made people laugh, but she had a feeling that crunching wasn't exactly a known fetish for laughter with normal people. They would have to be very careful - they didn't know what this Clyde the Cannibal was capable of. For all they knew, he could have a black hole power that sucked in human beings into his stomach. It was curious why no one had caught him yet. Was he truly that powerful, or just good at hiding?

"Right. We need to do this quickly, I assume, but also quietly. If no one has caught this guy yet, then he could be very powerful, and we have no idea what he's capable of. He could have traps waiting for us, or he could be some demi-god. For right now, just stay on your guard." She told them, keeping her voice as quiet as possible. This was going to get rather interesting, rather quickly.

"Hey, thing, I've got a question for you. How many other people know about the amulets? Is there a chance there are others here for the same purpose as us, to obtain it?" He sent a glance over at Nakir when he called him "thing", but he didn't really mind, so he chose not to complain. "Probably everyone, but it's just one out of many rewards for beating the arena. Did you not see the notice?" There was a small poster on one of the walls, showing that you could pick any of about 100 different rewards for beating the arena. "I doubt anyone is after it though. It has no effect on anyone except chosen, and other than that... Well, maybe someone thought collecting them would be a fun thing. But as I've said, I doubt it." He leaned back, and added: "By the way, if you feel you're unable to beat an enemy without killing him, tell me." He didn't change his tone at any point, but he had a feeling the Angel would get insulted anyway.

It was interesting, really. Nakir didn't seem demoralized at all by him, even though he purposely showed him his speed back at the mages guild. If he could keep the enthusiasm up, then maybe he'd be worth the trouble anyway. The first fight was over, and a sad looking character came out with his arms all bloody. Someone shouted "Hah, did you get your arms broken Pharaoh?", and the man responded "No, I was just unable to take him alive." which shut up all the laughter that had came from several corners of the room. Key felt the need to rev up his magic, however, and started creating tiny whirlwinds, fire, plasma, light, dark, and electricity in his palm.

Nakir let out a long sigh. There went his hopes that someone strong would show up because of the amulet. He would just have to deal with whatever people showed up, which judging by the killing penalty, wouldn't be the strongest. Someone who was truly strong would likely go somewhere where they wouldn't need to hold back. Whatever the case, it wouldn't be a hard fight to win. He may not like him, but Key was definitely strong. Not as strong as himself, of course, but who was? That combined with his own unparalleled strength and ability meant that it would be a very easy victory.

"By the way, if you feel you're unable to beat an enemy without killing him, tell me."

He glared at Key with cold eyes. Was he questioning his fighting ability? "Hey, watch what you say. I'll have you know that I'm capable of many forms of combat. It may not be preferred, but I can easily take down someone non-lethally. Just watch, I'll show you just how strong I am." In truth, Nakir wasn't exactly an expert at taking down an enemy alive, as he's never really needed to do it. Sure, when he needed to he could, but he always preferred the other route. He just wanted to shut up the annoying thing known as Key and show off his skill. As a bloodied man walked out, he recognized that beating someone without killing them required its own skill, and Nakir definitely believed he was good enough to handle such a simple task.

"Hey, watch what you say. I'll have you know that I'm capable of many forms of combat. It may not be preferred, but I can easily take down someone non-lethally. Just watch, I'll show you just how strong I am." Key sent a glance at him with his neutral expression. He didn't believe him at all, but saying that aloud wouldn't help would it? "Alright. Good." He shortly responded to his arrogant comment. He watched as the next contendor on this side of the colosseum walked into the arena. The doors had barely closed when he heard the loud "Start!" scream from outside, and within a second, the top half of demon came flying in between the still closing doors, drawing spontaneous art all over the wall with blood.

His eyes widened slightly. This wasn't good. Someone who could cross the distance between that guy and himself in such a short time, and kill him that fast wasn't good. Even if it was a mage, that'd be bad, since they could cast that lethal magics without more than a seconds channeling. The doors still closed, but a thump was soon heard, and the doors opened again, revealing the bottom half of an angel. Looking into the arena, the top half of the angel and the bottom half of the demon was still there, but guards were rushing onto the floor to take care of it. He sent a glance to Cerin and Eris. Hopefully these people wouldn't get enough points to advance because of killing them, since that might be dangerous for the other group.

He got up from his position however, as it must be his and Nakir's turn to fight now. He just waved to him, signalling that it was their turn without opening his mouth before going down to the doors. These were only the preliminary rounds, but there was a chance they'd meet the most potent fighters in the tournament here. Sheesh.

Coming out onto the sandy field, he saw that it was a circular arena with about 200 meters between the walls. The other pair of contendors were already out. A mage, and a heavily armor-clad, battlehammer swinging human. The tanky guy was standing in front of the mage however, seeming like he was trying to protect him. This time they made sure to close the doors before starting however, and the quiet thump of the doors hitting eachother behind him filled him with esteem. He could beat anyone here, no problem.

"Start!"

Nakir recoiled as he saw the remains from the fight. It seemed there was another angel, except this one was in pieces. What in the world could do this so quickly? Angels were supposed to be extremely powerful and better than every other race, and yet this one was killed in seconds. It must have been the demons fault. Yeah, he messed something up and got both of them killed. Nakir nodded at this idea he made in order to comfort himself and followed Key into the arena.

As they entered the battle position, Nakir noted their opponents. The mage wouldn't be too hard to deal with, as long as his spells weren't extremely potent. His big body guard friend just made Nakir smile. He was covered in armor, or more specifically metal. He already had a plan all set out in his head. He would rush the brute and toss him aside with his magic. Since he was covered in metal, it would be exceptionally easy. Then, he would attack the mage and shock him with enough voltage to render him unconscious. He had completely forgotten it was a team fight, and as soon as he heard 'Start' he flew up and towards the human using his wings, gaining at least 7 feet of elevation between the two of them. He then shot out electricity from his fingertips at a high velocity towards the man. These strands of electricity stayed connected to his fingers, and would allow him to toss him to the right with extreme force. With the amount of metal the man had on, he was basically a puppet to Nakir. If the man was tossed out of the way, Nakir would then launch a powerful bolt of lightning towards the mage's chest.

(Not sure if this is how you wanted us to do the fight)

Key looked as Nakir shot off. He admired his eagerness, but he had no idea what that mage was doing. And Key didn't really either. Well, better safe than sorry. He watched as Nakir a shot a bolt of electricity towards the armoured man, and he felt the mage channeling something behind the man. Yes, definitely rather safe than sorry. He shot off at a rather high speed, passing both Nakir and his electricity in an instant. He quicky stopped himself in midair when he was at the tank though, and he placed his hand on his helmet. The tank had time to look up at him with fear in his eyes, just before he passed out from the large sound wave passing through his skull, amplified by his helmet.

Before he had time to fall to the ground, Key kicked of from him to gain speed to hit the mage. The electricity hit him just after he kicked off from him. The mage was actually channeling something more powerful than he had expected, and when he saw his tank friend collapse he fired it off, at a much too early stage. Key easily dodged the large beam of purple energy that the mage had used. He sent a glance over his shoulder to make sure it didn't hit anything important, and his eyes widened as he saw it shooting of into the distance, spreading clouds when it hit them. This magic was too powerful for someone like this, and the mage was going to feel side-effects soon.

He turned his head back to face the mage, who's hands were now badly scorched. He closed the distance and dealt a final punch to his temple, sending him flying a couple meters and definitely knocking him unconscious. He stopped and stood there, waiting for the judges to catch up. After all, this entire battle took about 1.73 seconds. He turned to face Nakir, to see if he had actually caught up with the fight.

Nakir was still shocked that Key was able to out-speed his electric spell and take out the brute by the time the fight had ended. What in the world was that? He had seen how fast Key was before, but seeing it actually used in combat was something completely different. Realizing he still had the armored man in his electrical grasp, he tossed him with a strong force against one of the walls in frustration. Was that thing really THAT much stronger than him?

Nakir had looked down at Key, who was looking back at him, seemingly just waiting. He dropped down from the sky and walked back through the doors as they opened, fists and teeth clenched, completely ignoring Key. He's not stronger than me, no one is! It was just a fluke, that's all. I could have easily out sped him if I tried, I must have been going easy on them. He felt a familiar tug at his heart that he hadn't felt in a long time, not since he was a child. "No!" He slammed his fist into a nearby wall. He didn't want to feel weak, feel inferior to anyone else. He knew he was stronger than Key, he just knew it. Everyone had their good and bad days. It just must've been Keys good day and Nakirs bad day. any other time and things would have been different.

Her hand flew to her mouth, as the top half of the demon flew back through the partially-closed doors. She'd seen a few wounds during her days in the temple, but mostly due to the chores around the temple. Small cuts with knives, usually obtained in the kitchen, during meal preparations. That was about the extent of the blood she'd seen. Never in her life, had she been exposed to gore, and the sight repulsed her, forcing her stomach to convulse violently. Her dinner from the previous night once again threatened to make an appearance upon the door opening, and the sight of the bottom half of the angel. Once again, she found herself thankful that the tournament discouraged killing.

Cerin breathed a heavy sigh as the doors closed behind Nakir and Key. She was worried for them, naturally, though she knew the two were more than competent fighters. Nearly the moment the fight had started, the doors began opening back up again, the fight concluded. Seeing Key and Nakir walk back through the doors, she realized she'd been holding her breath, and ran up to the pair, quickly checking for any injuries. "Are you two okay?" The question was more out of paranoia, than actual worry. She knew the two could handle themselves. Incredible. There wasn't a single scratch on either of them.

Luckily for Cerin, she was on their side. Mostly. Not within the arena, but at least she didn't have to worry about defending her life, or the life of Eris from these two. With a start, she realized it was her, and Eris' turn. Unsheathing her sword, and removing the shield strapped on her back, she began mentally preparing herself for the battle ahead.
