  2. Keep the one-liners to a minimum. I understand once in awhile.
  3. No more than 3 characters.
  4. No godmodding.
  5. Ask me before you have some kind of attack or whatever thing like that.
  6. Keep drama to a minimum.
  7. When you sign up, you need to (password is: under the sea. place it anywhere) understand that whatever position or rank you choose is tentative and I may ask you to change it.
  8. All RPN rules.
  9. Language is fine, but fade to black if you need to with the romance stuff.

A storm raged over the sea, hiding the noon sun. Waves crashed against each other, and the small Island only a few miles from Atlantis. Under the surface, the currents were stronger than usual. Women with small merchildren stayed onside their homes, not wanting their babies to be swept away.

The royal twins, Sirena and Kai, use the storm's premature darkness to their advantage. They sneak past their guards to get out of the palace, anting to explore the city.

Despite the fact that they were born and raised in Atlantis, they have only seen about a third of it: The upper class. The twins make their way to the market place, which runs all the way through the city, changing as the class of the area changes. Having already seen what there is to see of the Upper Class market, the spped through until they gt to the Middle Class.

"Kai, look! Human things." Sirena says, coming across a stall that sells various human artifacts. Kai swims over from a collection of spears, looking over the artifacts. He picks up a tobacco pipe, looking at it inquisitively.

"What is this?" He asks the vendor.

Vinexa holds tight to her tied cloth. Inside there were small gems and items that had fallen down to the ocean floor when a human ship crashed. She waved at a few familiar faces and fought slightly against the current.

She swam into the middle class market and stopped by a few stalls to sell her merchandise. "Thank you." She says to a vendor as he hands her a few sand dollars. She gives the vendor a smile, then wraps her empty cloth around her wrist.

Vinexa starts to swim towards her home, but she's interrupted by a very strong current that pushed her backwards into somebody. When she regains her balance she turns around. "I'm so sorry!" She apologizes, but her eyes go wide when she sees who it is. "Princess Sirena?" She asks, before bowing.

The princess looks up, the sudden movement causing her blonde hair to flow around her face. Reaching up, she moves it out of the way, so she could see who was talking to her. "Hello," She says kindly, her voice soft. Kai looks up when he hears his sister speaking, though he says nothing. The prince begins to worriedly look around, sure that the palace guards would be around to get them soon.

Vinexa straightens up and smiles at the princess. "I am so sorry, the current. It pushed me back. Are you alright? Should I get somebody to help you back to the castle?" She asks, worriedly. She glances around her, only to see the prince as well. "Oh." She says, and bows again. When she straightens up this time she pushes her hair out of her face to show her grey eyes. "I'm sorry again, princess."

"No!" Kai says quickly, as soon as she metions getting someone to help them back to the castle.

"What my brother means is, no, we're fine. You don't need to apologize either. The current is strong. What is your name?" Sirena says, her calm tone quickly soothing over her brother's abruptness.

She looks taken aback for a moment, but then easily regains her composure trying to hide the embarrassment on her face. "U, my name is Vinexa, Princess. It's very nice to meet you." She says sweetly, then bites her bottom lip as a mischievous glint shows itself in her eyes. "Are you hiding from somebody?"

Sirena smiles and nods. "The whole palace." Kai says, looking behind him towards the Upper Class marketplace. He was on edge, though his brain still took the time to appreciate the looks of the mermaid in front of him. The prince moves closer to his sister.

"We wanted to explore!" Sirena explains entusiastically. "We've never been beyond the upper class."

Her lip bite stretches into a grin. "Well, welcome to Middle class then." She says, then turns her head as she notices a familiar face swimming near them. "Oh, it's Talix.. You two should hide." She whispers to the Prince and Princess as the strong looking knight puffs up his chest.

In one hand Talix holds his spear, and the other was clenched in a tight fist at his side. He gives off a powerful vibe as his stern face scans the faces of each merperson. His chest puffs out as he passes a group of guards and they all salute him respectfully.

Fast as lightning, Kai grabs his twin's arm and pulls her up and over the shop, hiding in the darkness with a crate of human things. Sirena peeks out cautiously, wanting to see what's happening.

Talix makes his way towards one of his 'friends' who work at a stall, but in his way swam a young mermaid with red hair. He cleared his throat and tried to swim around her, but she blocked his path.

"Excuse me." He says gruffly. She gives him a kind smile. "Oh, hello sir. I was actually wanting to talk to you." She says and Talix rolls his eyes. "I don't have time to talk to teenagers." He says and tries yet again to swim around the mermaid, but she blocks his path.

"I saw some suspicious teens doing something." She says and Talix sighs. "And what do you think they were doing?" He asks, and Vinexa racks her brain for ideas. It must have taken her a while because Talix got impatient.

"So?" He asks rudely. "Um. One of them had a sack and they were filling it up with stuff. I don't know if they were stealing or what." She says and Talix looks off in the direction she had pointed, then looked at her skeptically. The girl gives him a fast nod and he swims off to investigate.

Sirena swims out cautiously. "Is he gone?" She asks, looking around. Kai follows her, ready to pull Sirena back down at any moment. "That guy gives me the creeps. He's so... angry."

Vinexa turns to the two happily. "He's gone. And don't worry, he's just like that because he's one of those head knights or whatever." She says, then smiles at how cautious Kai was being. "Don't worry, I know everything there is to know about the middle class." She says and swims closer to them.

As they swim out, Sirena looks at Kai. They seem to have a mental conversation, and Kai shakes his head no. Sirena ignores him. "Could you ahow us around?" The princess asks hopefully, smiling. Kai swims just behind her, sighing.

Vinexa looks from Kai to Sirena, and gives off a kind smile. "If you really want me to. Where would you like to go first?" She asks, swimming down to the floor and plucking a piece of seaweed to tie her hair in a bun.

Adella was swimming into the castle when she heard King Caspian's thundering voice. "What do you mean they're gone!" he fumed and Adella thought twice about venturing further. The currents were rapid and sloppy as the storm raged on above the water but that was nothing new. There was always a storm somewhere, and they seemed to be occurring more and more recently as time went by. It was either that or Adella had just started noticing them, but she wasn't sure which was more likely. Flipping her fins, she pushed herself against one of the walls of the great palace and listened in to the king. "How is it that not one but two of my children managed to slip from your care?" he continued and Adella was eager to hear which two. But she already knew her answer. Only two were daring enough to try. Sirena and Kai. She began to swim back the way she came, hoping to be able to catch up with them. She wasn't a very fast swimmer, at least not as fast as some, but she had been getting better.

As she swum out the front gates she turned towards her left and made her way towards the upper class market. It was no doubt the place they'd go to first having not really been anywhere else. She wondered why Sirena hadn't just asked for Adella to take them. She knew that Adella had grown up in the city when she wasn't at the palace, or maybe she was getting bored of her. Adella rolled and looked behind her as she swam, double checking that she hadn't been followed.

Halia was staring out her bedroom window. She could tell it was a strong storm, and that made her want to go out and explore even more. These were the perfect waters for ships to crash and all their loot to fall into the ocean. It was also perfect for getting in trouble. Halia sighed, but her curiosity got the best of her. This time she promised herself she couldn't be caught. Everyone thought she was just in her room, and if she snuck out without being seen, they all would still think that.

Smiling at her plan, Halia swam to the door and opened it and peered out. There wasn't anyone there. She slowly exited her room and shut the door behind her. Quickly, but also very carefully as to not be seen or heard, she swam down the hallways of the palace. Once or twice she saw a few maids, but they never saw her. Halia was feeling so confident; she had a strong feeling no one would realize she had even left her room.

Aurix had been out with another royal official, getting to know the city, when the storm hit. He didnt want ro be there anyway but the curents pulling him every which way was making him slighlty aggravated. "Lets go back to the castle." He said to the man from the court. So as they were making their way back they went through the markets. He saw Kai and Sirena and he sighed. He swam up and deadpanned, "look its a family reunion."

Sirena looks around. "Anywhere." She says with a smile, moving her hair out of the way yet again. The current kept moving it.

Kai looks back one last time, and seeing no one he recognized, nodded his approval of Sirena's request. Then their brother showed up.

Sirena smiles sheepishly. "Oh, hey, Aurix..." She says nervously, hoping he wouldn't get them in trouble. She loved her brother, but his moods were somewhat unpredictable.

The waves were throwing the boat back and forth, throwing it between themselves as they had no control over it whatsoever. Julian had suggested to go up onto the deck to see how the sailors were doing, but his mother grabbed her hand, shaking her head. Ever since they were used as slaves, his mother had turned mute and hadn't said a word. His father didn't survive, as it was only his mother and himself left, his sister had died once she tried to jump off the ship, and she was never seen again. The motion of the boat was restless as his mother wrapped her arms around him, as they were thrown from one side of the ship to the other. He was scared, but for the sake of his mother he didn't say anything and pretended he wasn't scared, but once the sound of the captain rang in his ears he was terrified. "WE CAN'T STEER AWAY! WE'RE GOING TO HIT THE CLIFF!" The captain shouted as the boat stopped.

They heard the sound of planks breaking and people being thrown off the ship, quickly his mother grabbed his hand, dragging him up on the deck as they watched the cliff penetrate the boat, dividing it in two, as the waves crushing strength kept pushing it into the cliff without mercy. Suddenly a larger wave came in, and they were thrown out of the boat, along with the entire boat collapsing. Julian knew how to swim, but was hit by a plank on his way down, and the nails scratched his cheek and leg, making it hard to swim as he barely held his head over the water to breathe. His mother dove under water to grab him, clearly injured by some of the pieces of the boat, as she threw Julian on top of a plank. For the first time in ten years, his mother smiled as she looked dead tired, as she opened her small shaking mouth. "Live on," she said as she lost her grip of the plank to the waves, as Julian was drifted away. He was tired... dead tired... he reached out his hands for his mother, but quickly lost consciousness as the plank drifted into the sea, and eventually lead him to an isolated island.
