Futuristic At the Edge of the Apocalypse, an Eternal Principle

Depending on the duration, a possibility could be suggested that we finished the fight with a narrative and proceed to the post battle debriefing and the crew interacting off duty.

Speak for yourself. I was about to open up a whole can of whoop-ass on that Angel. It's days were numbered the minute it showed up in our town!

Well, I was thinking SephirothSage could roll up the Collateral and/or damage to the Units/Pilots. We could then narrate out the outcome and proceed from there. I was not suggesting we skip the risk or consequence of a vastly bodied, reality denying entity showing up in the harbor of a major metropolitan city. ;)

[QUOTE="Random Word]Pfft, you haven't even hit it yet. I dropped two Evas on it from 400 000 km away! All me, baby.

Pssssh. Taking credit for that, I see.

If the distance between the Earth and Luna is approximately 384,400 km and the Lagrangian 1 (E-L L1) point is 56,000 km away from the Earth-facing side of the Moon, (at the lunar equator) and L2 (EL-L2) is 67,000 km from the center of the Moon's far side. So, does this mean that the Lunar Orbiting Base is at the L2* point, and therefore the Evas dropped 451,400?

*Of course, the LOB couldn't be at L1: the public would see the NERV logos. ;)

Canonically, and counterintuitively, Tabgha Base is on the light side of the moon, in full view of the Earth. It's also on the surface, not in LLO or at a lagrange point. Your observation is a good one, though. L2 would be an ideal place to conceal the facility if it wasn't on the surface.

I can't speak to where the moonbase is in our game.

I do recollect in the series and Rebuild that it was on the surface, with good reason, since [REDACTED]. However, I got the impression from the posts previously that there was at least some sort LLO base component being maintained in presumably subsynchronous orbit. If Tabgha (rathering fiitingly for its' name) has access to an S2 engine, then maintaining a geostationary position over site(s) would be more attainable than the IRL problems presented by Luna's lower gravity.

Oh, yes, I suppose if they have a perpetual motion machine they could maintain any orbit they wanted, so long as they could radiate the waste heat.

Yes, our base was at least partially in some lunar orbit.

My bad.

Computer sort of.... yeah.

Bad things happened. On the upside, my replacement is in all ways superior!

On the downside, I'll be slow for a bit setting things back up.

That said- we all here, at least?

Just to let everyone know, I'll be away from any internet access next week from Thursday night to Monday afternoon. I'm heading up into the Utah mountains to spend some family time with my wife's aunt and my two year old niece in the snow.

Technically it's Irene, but @DeusExAlice hasn't been around in ages, so you were supposed to make a call on whether we moved on without her or just surrendered and started Third Impact. You're up after her.
