Fantasy Apocalypse: Not your typical 'zombie'

"Neat!" I said, sliding my thumb across the edge of one of the blades. They were extremely sharp and comfortable to hold, high quality. I have to admit, i couldn't resist to smile like an excited little boy. I wanted to try them out on some asshole. 'The guy from the docks' was the first one who came to my mind. I already pictured his blood sticking to these blades.

I know, i know. I'm sick in the head... But only a little bit!

Lucifer- "Well considering that your driving a car you're a human, how long have you been in the city?"

I sighed and grabbed my long coat and left my ruck. "I'm heading up to the bell tower to see if i can gather any more info on the horde." He trotted off and headed up to the Bell Tower. he positioned himself up so he could look out the direction of the horde. He grabbed his high powered binoculars and with the very dim sunrise lite he looked out that way and saw they were closer than the other night, but they had moved towards the strip mall that he was at. so the horde now was less than 3 miles in range...not good

Lilly slid the case back into her pocket. "I prefer knives because you don't need ammo. But, you can still use them at range if you're good at throwing with accuracy."

Simon let out a sigh as he attached the two blades to his belt. "I know, i know... I would do that if my aim wouldn't be so awful. Are you good at throwing with accuracy?"

"Yes. No. I dunno. But, I've been learning how since I was eight." Lilly said. "Then again, a knife isn't great for a horde of zombies." Her stomach twisted at that thought.

(I keep switching from 1. To 3. Person all the time. I'm sorry.)

"Well, i can't argue with that..." I responded, looking out the window. "Dymitri will be back soon. Who knows, maybe we don't even have to worry about the horde anymore."

I looked up at the sky, noticing some dark clouds beginning to hang over the city drearily. I sighed and kept moving forward. I knew my sister was probably nearby, I'd heard gunshots earlier and some distant yelling. Currently I was passing through a mall, but two survivors caught my attention, one with weapons out, and another climbing into a really chill car. I slowly and carefully approach, hands in front to show I meant no harm. "Have either of you seen a girl that likes to wear hoodies and jeans? A few years younger than me?" I awaited their response, hoping they knew where my sister was.

Dmytri walked into the room and walked with a heavy burden. "Well, the horde is moving. both closer towards us but also not directly at us. I say that they'll pass about a block in front of us by tomorrow night." He sat near the fire and organized his ruck.

"Well, they are able to smell pretty well. They catch a whiff of us and they can easily change direction."

"Da. it'd be safe to assume that." He looked at Simon and asked "do you know how zombies act when they haven't fed in a while? Anyone?"

I frowned and glanced at Dmytri. "Their hunger... grows significantly..?" I shook my head at whatever he was trying to get at with Simon. "But, if you're thinking of getting rid of Simon just because he's a zombie... We can't. The horde will be after him maybe even more than they'd be after survivors.."

My gaze jumped back and forth between Addie and Dymitri. "They're weakened, but a lot more aggressive due to hunger pains..." I said, looking at Dymitri. "I can control myself. Don't worry."

Lilly nodded. "Before I met you guys, I was stuck in my dumpster for two days because three hungry zombies smelled me while I was in there. They were so persistent and desperate to try and get me."

"No...No not at all, I'm just trying to see if I can do a two day Sniper training school to try to hide while they pass over us or sneak away." He paused and thought "Like if they are hungry do they slow down unintentially or loose their heightened scenses?" He pondered that thought...considering Sniper School according to his father took about a year.

I sighed in relief that I had just jumped to conclusions and those conclusions were wrong. "Well, look at the sky, there's storm clouds. Meaning if the storm comes in time, the rain might hide our scent and it would also be loud enough to cover any noise we make. At least I think so..." I stared out the window and at the clouds.

"They slow down unintentionally due to lack of nutrition, but their enhanced senses don't change. In fact, they rely on it even more when they're hungry." I explained, looking at Addie. "The storm could actually help us out pretty well... Let's hope it comes in time."

He looked into the distant storm clouds and sighed slight relief "Da, if we get wet to the bone. But lets not count our chickens before they hatch." he slung his rifle over his shoulder and stood around with tension.

I pulled the Glock 22 out of my backpack since I figured mother's knife and Marcus's knife wouldn't really help nearly as much in the event of a horde. "Good point."

Lilly took out her knife case again and sorted them from biggest to smallest. "The worst part of this is waiting to see what will happen."
