Fantasy Anything Goes

"50 Shades of Grey?" Victoria jokes. She had tried to read the book, but all it did was make her cringe. She looks around at the clearing on last time. Who knows when she would be able to return?

Aileada eyes snapped open at the feeling of Tsatsu's hand on her shoulder. She gazed up at the tree that stood the same as before if everything that happened was a bad dream she had just be awoken from. Had the wolf healed it seeing how upset it made her? She turned to thank him, but stopped noticing a thin crimson line than ran along his cheek. "What happened?" With little thought her hand rose to his cheek, her thumb caressing beneath the mark. "Did I do that?" Her eyes widened at the possibility. He had healed the tree for her and how did she repay him? With the hit to the face. "I'm so sorry." She apologized frantically.

(I was wondering why I wasn't getting any notifications, but then I realized I didn't hit post ._.)

Tsatsu merely closed his eyes and channeled a wave of calming energy into her as he spoke. "Hush now. You're ok. You healed the tree, Aileada." He said in a soothing tone as she caressed his cheek. The miniscule cut was already beginning to heal. "That's just how my magic works. When I do bad things, I have to make a sacrifice of some kind. In order to take, something must be given." He said as he gently wrapped his arms around her out of sheer instinct.

Shinu flashed a smirk as he spoke. "Nah, I like the Constitution better." He said jokingly as he watched her expression change. It almost didn't seem fair to ask her to come with him.

Aileada took a deep breath, listening to the wolf's soft, soothing tone. She let her head rest on his shoulders as his arms encased her. His hold on her felt safe and comfortable. She felt like she could stay there forever, just fall asleep in his protective embrace. Which she honestly felt like doing. Her head pounded lightly and she felt drained of all energy. Her eyes slipped closed as she enjoyed the short moment of rest.

After a few moments, Tsatsu gently patted her head and spoke in a soft voice. "Let's get you home. You've had enough excitement for one day." He said as he gently led her back towards town. As they walked, his thoughts drifted to his brother, and he began to wonder what Shinu was up to.

Shinu smirked as he gently squeezed Victoria's hand and led the way back to her house. "I think that'd be just fine." He said with a smile as he quietly savored the peaceful evening air.

Victoria nods. When they were out of the forest, she looks up at the sky. Stars fascinated her. They always had and they probably always will.

"Does that mean no dessert?" Aileada said playfully, though drowsiness laced each word. She smiled as they began back towards town. Her feet ached slightly and she had the urge to pull off her boots and go bare foot, but the streets and sidewalks weren't clean enough for that. So instead she masked her sigh with a yawn and continued down the road. "Thank you," Aileada began after a long pause of silence. "For coming down to check on me, for being so kind. I suppose there are too many things to thank you for, but thank you nonetheless." She said, glancing over at him.
