TECHNICALLY, Rin should have a real tough time. Sharp weapons like swords, knives etc. Can't harm ghouls, but i don't know if that counts for the kurikara. It isn't just a normal sword, after all. Ghouls also exist in ao no exorcist, but they're quite different. However, is the sword still effective on Kaneki? Maybe.
Kaneki should have a tough time as well, though. Even if he has amazing recovery abilities, Rin has them as well. He can lose massive amounts of blood without dying (seriously. We're talking about bathtubs filled with blood)
