Not wanting to take any chances, the Jabberwock continues to follow the group from a distance with the intention of catching one of them when they are all asleep.

I wouldn't be sure.. at one point he wakes up after 45 years resting only to go back to sleep a few hours after.

what world are we in?

None at the moment. We will be taken to the first world (which will probably be in a more urban area, probably a city, maybe in England since nobody is from there) once we have entered the first portal. The portal will appear as soon as Katniss has joined us. Once the portal has appeared, no more characters can be made.
