Fantasy An idea without a name

Wicked Jester

Suit Gangs Infamous Jester
Hello there!

So since you're willing to click on this when it doesn't even have a name yet, I hope you'll be willing to put up with a very undecorated interest check as A) I'm writing this on my phone, and B) the rp is probably only like 80% designed as of yet. Anyway onto the interest check below!

Being pulled into another world is common material for fantasy scenarios, but what if the only ones to inhabit the world where those pulled from other world's. That's exactly what's happened. Thousands of beings all pulled into a brand new world with ruins, deserted towns, and vast wilderness to explore.

Now imagine that a god who was bored has decided to give all these people, pulled from all walks of life, the chance to become a god like him by living in this world. However as mentioned before he's rather bored. So in order to use the magic of this world that he has created, the god requires points be used with each casting of the magic. And the only way to get these points is to complete tasks off a list provided by god. However you don't get to pick which task you must complete next. Instead, it is randomly decided for you.

So basically what all this says without the flowery language, it that there will be a BIG list of 100 tasks, and each task is worth a certain point value. To receive a task, you use RPN’s dice mechanic, and this is the only thing you need to use dice for, and you roll a D100. Whatever number the dice lands on is the next task you must complete. In regards to the magic of the world, during character creation you will have 3 ability slots and from there

You can request any abilities you want. We will just price each use of those abilities accordingly. For example, a fire ball with about the force of a hand grenade would likely cost about 15pts. These points would be fairly easy to get, ranging from 2-5pts for easy tasks, and 5-10pts for harder ones. Character development will also likely rely on these points with the ability to purchase more ability slots and other useful things through points. Aside from this systems, the world would be nearly entirely sandbox as the world is literally brand new and has no existing governments, factions, towns, or anything really. It would all be up to the players to develop.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions I would love to hear them!

Also if you have any ideas for a name for this I would to hear it. I'm stumped for one >.>

I am supper interested in this.

Oh man this sounds like a really excellent idea!

For the setting--if this is a "new" world but it has ruins, is that just because the god felt like it, or would there possibly be some indication that the characters were brought into a world that's post apocalyptic? That could be fun, although it would obviously be second to the main plot.

I mean god could just be screwing with you and having placed those ruins or it could be signs that this was a failed world or any number of things you'll just have to find out >.>

There are also fully intact cities, but hey. When you're dealing with magic that doesn't mean anything.

DUN DUN DUN

Sounds exciting!

So we do quests, get points and upgrade ourselves? Are you Dm'ing every quest or uh, how does this work?

Most of the stuff is small stuff but some of it requires you to directly interact with other player... Like say punching them in the face.... Anyway, there are a few tasks a moderator would directly over see, but most wouldn't need to be directly moderated.

I think this has the potential to be a lot of fun... which is surprising, considering that I normally avoid magic like the plague. The concept is unique, the magic explained well, and the 'bored God' thing hilarious. I'm curious to see where it goes and would like to see what develops before jumping in with both feet.

A couple of caveats:
  1. I am only around during 'normal business hours', so I don't post on evenings or weekends. That tends to make my schedule backwards of everyone else's, which can lead to an inability to keep up in fast-paced roleplays. It does allow me to get a lot more detailed and in-depth, however, for roleplays that benefit from that. It just depends on what kind of style you're going for here, and it's up to you whether you think this will turn out to be a problem for the group or not.
  2. I have trouble reading coded posts. I can usually muddle through coded character sheets, but if code is being used in normal posting, I probably will back out to avoid slowing everyone else down.

Thanks for the mention... Tentacle horse... Anywho, this is a roleplay where Anyone is pulled out of any world? Wicked Jester Wicked Jester
Well... World like our own with no abilities of any sorts. I don't care if you want to use appearances from animes or movies or stuff, but they would have to be oc's without any of their abilities their tv show person's had. Basically if you wanted to use someone like Naruto, you could use the appearance, but he couldn't be Naruto.

Thanks for showing interest XD
To be honest, I have no idea how fast the rp's pacing will be. I won't be setting a minimum post length, but I will be stating that if I'm not satisfied with the post and it's pertaining to points I will probably ask them to do it again. Like one of the tasks on the list is "go catch a fish", and all they write is "James went and caught a fish." I would certainly ask them to put more effort into it. There's a lot you could describe about fishing. So to be honest I don't know what the pacing will be, but I hope to see you when the Rp gets started.

Oh alright... So any Equipment limitations?
I mean he just pulled people from their everyday normal lives. Pretty much anything you use will have to be made or found in that world. I mean even if you're a soldier on active duty with a gun you'd have like what... 5 clips of amunition in addition to what's in your gun? So I mean... You wouldn't be starting with much. Do you ever walk around fully prepared to be pulled from your everyday life, bags packed and with you at all times? Dependent on what your characters life was, they would have what they would reasonably be carrying on them. I won't allow anything too unrealistic as it just ruins the point of regular people being thrown into this.
