I was thinking of more magical means for their birdliness, but now I'm wondering if Hex could be from an earlier version of the same project that created Vex and co, only Hex was kidnapped at birth or something.

I think the wings are an intentional part, but the necromancer couldn't find any parts from a suitably cool bird so they had to pluck a feather from their neighbor's pet parrot.

Yoko probably wouldn't reciproicate the beef, considering he's entirely devoted to his goals and ideals. He would find it beneath him as he shapes himself up to become "God".
Although Eddie can definitely have a beef, Yoko would just remain cordial XD
