Fandom American Horror Story: Coven

"Hi... I'm Eli." he replied very quietly, stopping in his tracks. "I wasn't trying to be flashy. I really did just want a room to myself." he stated. "Wait just a second, I'll be right back."

Eli reached his room and found it was the way he had left it, his bag still unzipped. He took the opportunity to change out of the fancy suit he was wearing into a soft, v-neck shirt with the words 'Try Me' scribbled on the front; a pair of black jeans that were ripped just enough; and black canvas shoes. It was the first day, so he figured he would relax. 'Maybe later I can do a little baking.' he thought to himself as picked up his phone, and walking right back out of his room.

"It was something I was good at, and I was able to learn a lot about my skills from being all holed up." She said, running a hand through her hair.

"Kyla says Cordelia used to spend as much time in there as I used to. You know, he's actually kind of cool when you get to know him. Quiet, but he's got interesting stories when he does talk."

Cole raised an eyebrow to Sydnra, after all it was only a matter of time until she mentioned partying.

"After dinner. Tonight their first night, so if we invite some younglings we've gotta wait until after. They can't miss it, and neither can we."

Her head moved tot he door, the sound of footsteps trailing up the stairs. 'Probably that new showoff.' She thought, the sparks flinging from her hand and into the air as it caught her attention.

"I think tonight's dinner will be fun. Probably going to do one of those 'Hi my names Lacey Smith and I like to go shopping.' Games. Or we're going to introduce the kids ourselves. Cordelia gave her announcements, she'll introduce us."

Standing up, Collette smoothed her shirt out and fixed one of her adjacent leggings.

"I'm going to go meet one of them, and then go play piano. If you want to make a scene you can always come sing for me." She said in a chime like voice. She'd always been trying to get someone to sing for her as she played one of the various instruments in the house. Walking to the door she opening it, her head peering out into the hallway for any newbies.

Syndra frowned and got up. " Kyles ok, i've talked to him here and there but how quiet he is startles the hell out of me, its as if he could snap any moment I feel. He just has a strange air to him if you get what I mean." Once hearing her offer she groaned comfy up in her room but knowing she needed to get out of her habit of being holed up in her room. Like Cole with her greenhouse Syndra could always be found reading in a quiet place. "Fine, fine i'll come out of my cave to join you. And you know full well Cole that I sound like a screeching Banshee when I try singing. We don't want to make the newbies go deaf now don't we? I'll just listen while reading, and maybe i'll join you on a song or two if you so desperately desire." As she walked over she couldn't help but snicker musing as she saw Cole peer her head into the hall. "Stalker much."

"Hey, sorry about that." Eli said, "I wore that thing through some tough times. I'm sick of it." He made his was down the stairs, wondering how weird it was that there were 13 steps on each of the three staircases. "So, what are you here for?" He asked, closing the distance between him and Ashton. He looked bright and happy. If Eli could stand to be near anyone right now, he was the obvious choice.

"It's not stalking if you have good intentions." She said, flashing a smile back to the girl. Cole stood up a bit straighter and made her way to the stair case, quiet steps carrying her like a ghost. She had a bad habit of surprising others when she finally did speak up.

Taking it a couple step down, grey eyes and a smile greeted the two boys.

"Hey. My apologies if I'm intruding on anything, but I'm Colette. You guys must be a part of the new group of students."

Syndra couldn't help but snicker at Cole and replied before she left. "Sure, sure. That's what they all say before they get all creepy." she dashed quickly to go get her book and a book mark as Cole made her way downstairs towards the two men as they walked down the steps chatting.

Once Eli returned Ashton brightened up as they made their way downstairs. "Nice to meet you, and thats understandable. I ended up with a shared room but I don't mind. It gets me out of my room more and allows me to meet new people. However, I have yet to have a room mate but that will probably change soon." Noticing the odd stair count too as they spoke he then replied to his question. "I'm just here to learn more about my abilities and to meet other people like me. It's so cool knowing there are other people like us who have cool powers. It's nice knowing that i'm not a freak of nature and what not. Plus the town I lived in was so small, New Orleans seems so lively and its a great change of scenery I must say. So what about you? Why are you here as well, plus is Concilium your only ability?" he asked curious. Another thing about Ashton was that when meeting new people he always wanted to learn as much as he can, he found people other then himself from different places so interesting and peculiar. Looking over at the new incomer as Cole then interrupted, he flashed her his kind smile as well as they spoke. "Yes we are, are you not? I didn't see you with Cordelia in the front when she was speaking along with the veterans here. It's nice to meet you Colette."

"No. Resurgance is another." he answered. A girl with large grey eyes approached them. She seemed nice enough.

"I'm Eli. And this is Ashton. It's nice to meet you." he said, looking at her dead on. "I take it you're one of the vets? How long have you been here?" Eli asked, hoping someone else didn't pop out of the clouds to greet him.

"It's nice to meet you both as well." She said, taking it down three more to join them. She was still above them in height though.

"And yeah, I am," Cole chuckled, " Over a year and a half, nearly two years. Other than a very few others like Cordelia and Kyle, I'm one of the longest residents. Seen a lot of people go in and out of here."

Cole really had. Other than those attending when Fiona Goode was still supreme, most others than her and Syndra had gone in and out. Some due to loss in interest, others behavioral problems, and some that ran away from their families even. Though the eldest of those that had left still keep in touch, not forgetting their old home.

"There weren't always males though, right?" Eli asked. He always felt something was off about that prospect. From what he knew, being a male and being able to tap into the Powers That Be didn't sound like it was a popular thing. Yet, within the past year, the rate increased like crazy.

"Is it just me, or does it give any of you a weird feeling that something isn't right?" he asked, twirling a piece of his shaggy hair between two of his fingers.

Ashton listened as they walked downstairs, heading into the kitchen he got a glass of water. Frowning once hearing Eli's words he shook his head. "I don't know what you mean really. Everything seems fine to me. Maybe it just takes some time to get used to things around here, not that i'm used to how things are around here already. Elaborate if you wish Eli." He noticed Kyle there in the kitchen organizing things but watching them carefully. It was as if Kyle was Cordelia's eyes and ears when not around, he felt slightly creeped out but didn't say anything.

At the mention on warlocks, Cole's eyes sunk a little bit before she smiled again.

"My uncle was one. Before this year, there were very very few yes. Infact this is the first time we've brought in co-eds to the school."

Cole nodded solemnly, her thoughts earlier resurfacing.

"Though, it doesn't always mean something's wrong. I assure you we are all keeping tabs on it though, so nothing to worry about. It could very well just be a gene spike as more people are having children, more children with our blood lines are coming forward."

In reality she knew full well that when something like this happened, the outcome wasn't always good. But she wasn't planning on scaring the new students or make them feel bar for being warlocks.

"All I'm saying is that species tend to evolve in the face danger." Eli stated, crossing his arms as he walked. "Something just doesn't add up. Besides, even Hogwarts had their dark days." He leaned against the open panel in the kitchen. "I'd rather be aware as hell than stomped out if something was going wacky." He waved to Kyle, who just stood there. "It's just a gut feeling."

"We are not hogwarts. We will not carry wands, and we do not fight of magical creatures." She said a little more sternly. There are younger and more excitable people here, and she can't have them worrying or some real danger could form when under developed skills are brought out with fear.

"That is true. And we've done so before, but this manifests with our powers growing and more manifesting. If you wish to speak to a first hand account, ask Miss Cordelia."

Cole joined them in the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water before walking into the den with her voice trailing behind her.

"Don't worry about it for now. Focus on getting comfortable. I promise you that the community is keeping a tab on it."

Sitting down at the piano, she sat for a moment trying to figure with piece to play. Nothing too loud... no it wasn't even noon yet.

Ashton watched as Cole departed and looked down. Looking over at Eli he asked. "Do you really think something bad is going to happen? I always thought species adapt to accommodate obstacles not because something bad will happen. After all its not like it can be predicted." He stared at his water deep in thought, worry starting to cloud his thoughts.

Syndra had been lounging on the couch in the den reading by the time Cole walked in. Looking over she teased as she sat up. "Took ya long enough, scaring the newbs or something? Or are the ones you met not half bad?" While Cole had went into the kitchen, Syndra had finally came downstairs, knowing Cole she always plaid in the den due to the piano there so when she didn't see her she decided to wait. The den was also a relaxing area which was another reading spot for Syndra.

"Chill out, guys. I'm just being nerdy." Eli stated, forcing that odd feeling down. 'Sure, I'm a warlock, but I can't predict the future...' he thought, taking a seat nearest to the piano. "Ash, you've got nothing to fear. I usually spout out meaningless things all the time." he chuckled. But deep down, he felt like he was trying to convince himself more than the guy looking at him with worry in his eyes. 'What are you gonna play for us Vet.? If you'd like, I could accompany you vocally."

When the blonde girl spoke up, he frowned. She had been the one who accused him of murdering animals. "Oh...hi." he said to her flatly.

Ashton made a face hearing him call him Ash. "Ew, my mom calls me that." Going over to the couch due to that being the only other seat in the room, Syndra shoot him a look of annoyance but he sat on her lap anyways. "No need to be feisty vet, we all gotta share and be friendly." Syndra squirmed shoving Ashton off her who grinned as he got the other half of the couch, his face being the kind that easily read I win. Hearing Eli, Syndra added. "Cole has a thing for playing the piano. She loves to play for people and always is bugging me to sing with her. Looks like this is your chance Cole." Ashton being the friendly person he was looked at the annoyed Syndra and asked. "Whats your name?" Syndra replied bluntly as she went back to reading. "F*ck off." Ashton couldn't help but laugh and asked Cole. "Are the rest of the vets this feisty?"

Cole ran her hands over the keys once, until her left hand made it's home on two and pressed down, the sound a lower string of base notes. First lower, then higher, than a mid strike. "If you would like." She said, her left hand picking off some chords up higher. "If you knew the song, it would do you much better." She said.

Dead Hearts by Stars started, and she played the intro. She honestly didn't mind if they listened or not, or if anyone sang. Most times she preferred to play a simple instrumental but bugging Syndra was fun. Music was just fun for her, and playing it was always the same amount of comfort no matter how many people wear hearing it.

"Honestly, no. It's just us in the vet department, and I'm not usually as bad as her." She said, smiling as Syndra recounted her love for playing. There isn't much other than showing off and playing games with their powers to brighten up the place. The furnishings may be white but in most cases, memories aren't. Shutting her mouth she hummed the lyrics, playing the tune of the voiced with her right hand.

Eli decided he would wait until another time to sing along. The sound of her fingers hitting the keys was far too beautiful to mar with any vocals. He watched as the two bickered on the couch. "Kids." he muttered, reminding himself that he was 24, and therefore should be more mature than the ones he was sitting with. 'Who am I kidding, I'm the youngest at heart here.' he thought with a sigh.

Syndra's temperamental mood immediately soothed once hearing Cole play the piano, her songs always had that affect with her which is another reason why the den was a favorable place. In a way it was as if she was a street cat who hissed at anything unfamiliar, but once petted it would calm down. The music in a sense being what soothed her the two things that soothed her the most were reading and music, the combination enough to make her purr. Sinking back into the couch, her legs went over Ashton's lap while she relaxed reading. Ashton didn't notice while he listened to the heavenly music thinking softly to himself I could get used to this. Once the song was over Ashton praised. "You really have ways with the piano. I can see why you play it so often."

NiKlaus opened his eyes. It was time to stop meditating. Even though it proved to be one of the ways he escaped reality. A way he could get out of this awful world. Sometimes it was like seeing through some one else's eyes. He could match where people had lost their items. He could see a few girls looking for their favorite top they had gotten just yesterday. And found it neatly laying on the bed under some luggage. It seemed that the most common of items were always hidden in plain sight. It was the rare items though, that were the hardest to find. NiKlaus dreamed of one day helping an adventurer finally find the holy grail, or the ark of the covenant. He looked to the sky and smiled. Then suddenly started to hear piano music coming from inside. It was quite loud inside anyway. He got up and walked inside. Following not only the sound but using his power to find the piano. He knew that if he was ever blind, he'd be able to find himself through any place.

Niklaus walked in on the room full with the 4 students. "Uhm. Hello. I'm sorry I didn't realize anyone was here." He turned to the girls playing the piano. 'That's a beautiful song. May I ask what it's named?"

Cole smiled, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Why thank you." She said, relaxing a little bit from her playing posture. "I'm not the best by far. One girl who stayed here briefly last year was so amazing the entire room would become silent." She said, ecstatic over it.

She played at her home in Maryland, as both of her uncles had been musicians they taught her. She never could pick up the guitar as well as the piano though, not was her singing voice as good as some of the younger girls to come through. So piano it was.

Smiling again to Niklaus, she nodded. "Dead hearts by Stars." She said, happy to welcome another person into the room.

Eli stood up, walking to the center-most area between everyone. He cocked his head toward the new boy, inviting him to sit with them "So, What can everyone do?" he asked out loud. He knew he wasn't the only one who was curious about it. "I mean, I don't want a demonstration or anything. God knows, I don't wanna demonstrate." He commented, tilting his head back with a genuine laugh.

Ashton sat up intrigued which tilted Syndra slightly making her pull away sitting upright, legs to her chest. Hearing Eli's question she smirked, the conversation perking her interest. Ashton said happily starting off the sharing circle. "Transmutation. It's really fun actually, I can show you guys if you would like." Syndra added in lazily. "Telekinesis and Divination."

NiKlaus smiled. Ignoring most of what the others behind him were saying. One of his most admired trait in people was talent. Magical or not. "May I?" He took a seat beside the girl as she sang and played. He waited for a moment when her voice quietened. "There is a song called duet, by a man named Phillip Glass, who is obviously a warlock considering his power of the piano. Maybe I could show you how to play it someday!" NiKlaus never understood how he could get so easily acquainted with people. He just seemed to have the talent. He then heard a girl say "Telekinesis and divination" He then turned around. "Be careful. We don't want anyone getting hurt".
