If any hand other than Safona's had reached out to keep Silber from killing that butcher, he would have killed two people then. But again, she held him back. Barely. He very nearly brushed off her hand to kill him anyway, but seeing Safona step forward and slap the man shocked Silber into inaction. He let himself be pulled away, again, but now his focus wasn't on that human. His eyes were seeing what those words had caused in Safona. Like a stone thrown at a calm pond, that butcher's painful words had broken through to deeper things. For the claim of having killed drahkin, and for causing Safona pain, Silber would not forgive either.
Silber hadn't expected Baoithin to butt into the middle of a private affair, but it wasn't something he shouldn't have predicted. Of course the human guildmaster would side with the human butcher. He dare reprimand Safona for merely hitting the man as he bragged about slaughtering her family! He dare call the fury Silber felt towards this butcher immature bickering! Safona always went on and on about the virtues of these lower races. He'd listened to her repeat it for so long, he'd almost let himself believe any of it. He'd actually thought this Baoithin might be someone worthy of respect. As always, Safona thought to highly of these creatures. And he'd let himself fall for that trap as well. They were scum. All of them were scum.
As his fury deepened, Silber barely heard a word of the guildmaster's instructions. It sounded like a game, something Silber would have under different circumstances quite enjoyed, but right now he felt as just another insult. He stepped forward. "Very well, I agree to your conditions." But his glowing eyes weren't even looking at the guildmaster when he spoke. He was addressing the butcher.
The young drahkin had already been tall given his age, it was a universal trait among drahkin and was especially apparent in the skydryn, but after he brought a glowing hand to his chest and his entire body changed, a much older Silber stood a head or more above either of the two humans in the clearing. The adult Silber's eyes glowed bright as he took in the scene around him. "Ah, I remember this," he finally said. His eyes looked towards where the marking would be on the human, as if looking through his body and clothes to find it. He shook his head and chuckled softly. "Finally I get to see just how much of a liar you were," he said to himself.
"A duel in a game. A game and a duel." Silber smiled wickedly and spread both arms wide, throwing handfuls of crystallized astra shards and dust into the air. More astra solidified around his hands, becoming glowing claws that he pressed against the ground. The short grass carpeting the clearing suddenly began to grow, twisting and stretching towards the sky, and Silber was quickly hidden from view behind the rising curtain of tall grasses.
