Sorry to be a buzzkill because you seem pretty excited to post, but you gotta slow down man, give other people time to read, respond and post. If you've just posted one, or even two posts ago, you have to try and let everyone else involved in the scene and conversation time to respond and get their input in, if you just fly through everytime then a post has to somehow condense everyone elses stuff, plus two or more of your posts which happen in entirely different time-frames, all at once. It makes posting very messy (Hence having to swap tenses and do some wonky Rika talking during the event, but since you speed-posted, Anizin not being able to reply or react because you've already left the room prior to my post.) Generally speaking, think of it as a turn-based RPG, each character in a given scene gets a turn to look at the situation, take action, and then have the next person respond based on how that went and what they did. Otherwise like I have done, person on Turn A suddenly must attempt to take action on Turn D, or otherwise be forced to wait two rounds for Turn A to reappear due to the jumbled order, only to have Turn A be jumbled again and thus the problem escalates.
Another thing is, if you're gunna drop some bombs IC and etc. keep your character in the room and let people respond, unless you're doing something like "Here is my opinion, call me when you're done." (I created an example using Rika in my recent post for this.) as opposed to "Here is my plan, let me know what you think and lets discuss" (The second being what Anizin did.) You need to hang around and let the scene develop and progress rather than rushing it off .
The final thing on my list of "Tips for group forum RP", is that you are unable to teleport, you must take time between locations, usually manifested by waiting through a round of posts after stating in a previous post you were moving from point A to point B. Otherwise you force other peoples characters to rush through said areas to keep up with the current events of the RP, much like I previously did with Rika and am opting out of doing in this current round, if your character leaves after another, or is intended to join in during someones "Some time has passed since then" portion of their post, you gotta leave some time and hang around in transit for a bit, it also lets interested characters or those who try to follow, catch your character up rather than playing awkward timey-wimey pong with the past and present-tense stick
To clarify I'm not trying to attack you, or say you don't know any of this, or in fact that everybody here doesn't already know this. But sometimes we all need a reminder when we're getting into an RP we're hyped for, and that if you don't know this (anyone here that is) thats fine, its all about learning. I figured it'd be handy to have a reminder floating around in here somewhere for when the hype-train rolls in for each of us at some point anyway, just take it on board and know I mean no ill-will :3
