Kirino woke just in time to watch the sun rise. She hadn't noticed how long they'd been there, but apparently it'd been most of the night. Rising from her seated position against the rails on the pier, she worked out the kinks in her neck and yawned.
She remembered some of the stuff he'd said the night before, and frowned. She was in the same position as him at this point. No family- not a real one, anyway. Sensei had been everything to her. Back when he was alive, he was all she had, and his death had been painful for her. Sometimes she thought she could still hear him laughing at her when she fell down, cheering her on, giving her advice.
"The sky is yours for the taking, Kiri-chan." she murmured. "All you've got to do is reach for it."
