POLIS
Polis is a dystopian wasteland, home to a large number of mute packs. Prior to the Great Mutant Outbreak, this city was a sprawling human metropolis that has since given way to ruin, wild vegetation, and mute occupation. The burrows that the humans fled to are located underneath Polis. This will also be where most of the RP takes place.
NOTABLE PLACES IN POLIS
Ratland Amusement Park
Ratland is run by mutant rat personnel who seek to create a peaceful place where all mutes (and humans) can gather and have fun together without fighting. It appears to look like a classic amusement park- with many rides like a Ferris wheel, it also has carnival games, funnel cake, and cotton candy.
Brunchington Beach
This restaurant/bar is located close to the ocean, notably famous for their delicious brunch food. There are 3 rules to enter it: everyone pays their own bill, bills are paid with information, and no humans are allowed, by penalty of a most gruesome death. It is owned by Cappuccino, a large, light-blue mute shrimp. She is very stern about running her business and expects anyone who comes to eat to follow her three rules and will punish any who do not.
Skyscraper Ridge
Skyscraper Ridge is an enormous graveyard of old skyscraper buildings. Every building there is partially broken and laying on top of each other, which form a vast ridge.
MAYBE MUTES
Maybe Mutes are creatures who only gained a few physical alterations after the Great Mutant Outbreak. Although these changes have made them more physically powerful, their mental/intelligence capabilities have only slightly improved, ultimately staying much more similar to their animalistic sides.
EXAMPLES
Deathstalkers
These are enormous red scorpions have large pincers and three tails with stingers. They have tiny hair all over their bodies which vibrate when they sense a fast heartbeat. Their red stingers are highly sought after as a powerful weapon. If you can cut off the stinger of a Deathstalker, it will be a loyal, formidable protector for life. The area that they live in is termed Deathstalker Territory. These giant scorpions generally live alone or in pairs.
Dubstep Bees
Among the smallest of mute species, these nomadic bees have bushy white fuzz from their chest and are predominantly yellow with neon stripes and eyes that light up and change color according to their sonic emissions. They wear black skinny jeans, black boots, black gloves, and fitted black jackets. The bees communicate using a combination of electronic beats, synthetic-sounding musical effects, neon lights, and expressive gestures. Their size makes them advantageous spies despite their loud communication style and they are commanded by a single queen.

MUTES
The large majority of mutants are creatures who have gained every mental and intelligent capability that a human could have, coining the term "mutes." Each species has acquired their own fashion style, hobby activity, weapon of choice, and personalities, generally living in packs. They tend to walk on two feet and are the same height as an average human. (If you are playing a mutant character, you will fall into this category.)
EXAMPLES
Timbercats
These mute cats are axe-wielding lumberjacks who stay warm in their forest home wearing beanies and plaid flannel. They enjoy chopping wood, like lumberjacks, and wield axes which they use for combat. Past leaders of the Timbercats are called axe lords, with Yumyan Hammerpaw being the current one in charge. These cats also enjoy drinking ale and having a good ole rowdy party with loud music and guitar playing.
Located in the forests of Polis, Timbercat Village is made of wood, cat houses, and their Holy Scratching Tree. The main hall where they gather is full of chairs, including Yumyan's throne, along with wooden carvings of past axe lords on the roof.
Newton Wolves
This pack of wolf mutes focuses on expanding their knowledge of the universe. They set up residence in an observatory in Polis where they stumbled upon a picture of Carl Sagan, thereby discovering and eventually adopting Sagan's appearance, language, and teachings on the universe. Their pack name, Newton, may refer to English mathematician, physicist, astronomer, and theologian Sir Isaac Newton. The self-proclaimed scholars dress in turtlenecks and blazers to emphasize their worldliness and cultured refinement.
Umlaut Snäkes
This group of mute snacks rule the desert in Polis with hard rock/metal guitar music, leather, and spikes. Like every hard rock or metal band knows, style is equal to (if not more important than) substance. Once these mute snakes established that they were born to rock, they threw a super cool umlaut over the "a" in snake and dubbed themselves the Umlaut Snäkes.
They have indestructible skin, as they can take several hits from blunt objects without showing any signs of discomfort. They are mostly immune to poisons due to having large amounts of their own venom inside their bodies already.
Mod Frogs
This is one of the many mute packs that rule the surface, forming something similar to the mafia. Wearing tailored slim-cut suits, skinny ties, and sleek Chelsea boots, these human-sized frogs are 1960's mod culture meets traditional mob culture. The fashion-forward frogs are as meticulous about grooming as they are about organized crime, leading them to highly value a decent can of spot remover. Their base is located in the swamps of Polis.
Many Mod Frogs have long tongues which they use to grab and move people and objects. Like any normal frog, they possess impeccable night vision which enables them to see perfectly in pitch black environments. Naturally, they are also incredible jumpers that can leap several feet in the air.
Humming Bombers
These nomadic hummingbirds form an aerial mute pack that dominate the skies and do not hesitate to go out with a bang of their nectar grenades. Mimicking old school WW2 fighter pilots, these birds wear classic shearling-lined leather B-3 jackets that accommodate their wings along with pilot-appropriate helmets, goggles, and aviator sunglasses. The Humming Bombers most prominent feature are the bandoliers they wear, which hold their special explosive nectar grenades.
Chevre Sisters
These very secretive, blind goat mutes live deep in the woods of Polis and spend much of their time making cheese. They are a friendly mute pack and appear to not have anything against humans. They are able to predict the future by doing a special chant while they stir their cheese pot.
Fitness Raccoons
The Fitness Raccoons, as their pack namesake suggests, care very much about personal fitness. They exercise in a variety of ways such as aerobics, weight-lifting, and yoga. They also each name themselves after the first thing they find in their many trash piles (i.e. Tongue Depressor, Label, Carton, etc.) in the City Dump of Polis. These mutant racoons prefer to wear 1980s-inspired aerobics apparel, incorporating bright neon colors in their leotards, leggings, bike shorts, leg warmers, and sweatbands.

MEGA MUTES
Mega Mutes are gigantic building-sized creatures with many physical alterations. Although their biggest distinguishing factor is their humongous size, their mental/intelligence capabilities have somewhat improved as well. The majority of Mega Mutes are not intentionally harmful to other creatures.
EXAMPLES
Mega Bunnies
Adult Mega Bunnies have eight legs and ten ears while infant Mega Bunnies are much smaller than the adults, but are still fairly large. Mega Bunny mothers are fiercely protective of their offspring and will go to great lengths to ensure their babies are safe and sound. These mothers use their incredible scent tracking ability to locate and return lost babies to safety. Unfortunately, this makes it incredibly risky to pet a Mega Bunny baby, as doing so will transfer the baby's unique scent onto the interloper, causing the mother to pursue and capture said interloper as one of her missing young.
Mega Dogs
Mega Dogs are enormous canines with various mutations like extra tails, noses, legs, and eyes. Each one possesses certain recognizable breed traits (e.g., rottweiler, corgi, bichon, etc.). Their personality varies from one dog to another- some seem playful, while others appear territorial and aggressive. Mega Dogs have super-enhanced versions of already impressive canine abilities like brute strength, physical stamina, excellent hearing, and powerful scent detection. In order to have enough room for these gigantic dogs to run around and play, they mainly live in the vast Valley of the Dogs adjacent to Polis.
Mega Pigeons
Apart from their double twin beaks and massive size, Mega Pigeons look like regular pigeons with feathers in varying shades of gray from the neck down and pretty pink and aqua neckbands leading up to deep teal heads. They are extremely strong and have impeccable vison, but pretty stupid and desire shiny things.
Mega Walruses
These mega mutes live in the ocean, adjacent to the coast of Polis. They have two heads, four eyes on each head, and dark green blubber that are thick enough not even a syringe could penetrate it.
