Realistic or Modern Age of Vikings (Always Accepting!)

The sounds of war clashed loudly from above. She knew they docked already, she knew the srmies were clashing but Azura had it. "That's it, I'm not going to sit here like sitting ducks for Agnar or Hakon." Azura said angrily. She stood up and began to clash at the locked door with some stone, banging on the lock until it opened. "Fuck the plan." Azura said to herself as she ran up the stairs and above deck on the empty ship, she stared in awe at the armies, she'd heard of war, but never seen it herself. If anyone looked back towards the ships, they'd instantly see her just standing there, but Azura was in utter shock at the sight before her.

One of Hakon’s men ducked under Leiknir’s shield and sprung up, slashing at Iver’s face. The young man fell back, clutching at his left eye, blood seeping past his fingers. Leiknir pushed away the invader in front of him, then slammed his axe into the spine of the one who had slipped through. Yanking the axe head out, he cut again and again, until the man’s head had finally come all the way off. He threw the head at a startled invader, who caught it and just stared in shock. Another of Agnar’s men cut that man down, and he died with his eyes and mouth wide open.

“Iver!” Leiknir shouted as he stepped back, checking on the young man. He was still breathing raggedly, but he had sat up.

“It’s just an eye! I can still fight! I am a man of Egersund!” The young man shouted, picking up the bow of one of their fallen comrades. Leiknir tore a sleeve off of his own shirt and tied it around Iver’s ruined eye, as Iver readied an arrow. “Valdr!” Iver shouted, as he saw Magnus cut through his friend’s throat. He fired the arrow, and it slammed into the Swede’s shoulder.

Leiknir, seeing Magnus at Iver’s shout, charged him, bashing him with his shield. He felt a sharp pain in his shoulder then; the shield bash had caused his shoulder wound to open up again. Raising an axe, standing above Magnus, Leiknir only stopped when he saw Astrid standing there, glaring daggers at Magnus. Not wanting to interrupt whatever problem she had with him, as much as he wanted to send the Swede to Valhalla right then and there, Leiknir slinked off. He just growled and rejoined the shieldwall, wondering if Magnus had something to do with the strange dream Astrid said she had.

He braced himself, as Hakon’s men charged once more. Iver stood several feet behind him, firing arrow after arrow into the crowd of invaders.

Astrid watched as he picked up his sword, a smile played on her lips. He still wanted her, just as he had before, this time she could return the feelings, nodding as he gave her instructions on where to meet him. Then she watched as he turned and left, a sudden shadow grew over her, she turned to meet the same brute again, taking her by surprise by knocking her over. She hit the ground hard, making her wince in pain, he stood over her, his sword lifted in the air, ready to bring in down on Astrid. Her heart was racing, her mind was blurry. She rolled just as he brought down the sword into the ground, missing her but not her hair, he caught the last of her braid as she rolled, pulling her back towards him. She let out a gasp, as he pulled her close, lifting his sword to her throat, she kicked violently at the ground as her hands gripped at the base of her braid.

Agnar ducked under the blade of an oncoming viking, kicking him in the knees before thrusting his sword through the man neck. Looking up he spotted Magnus and only a short distance away from him was Astrid, stuck in the grip of one of Earl Hakon's warriors. Agnar sprinted towards her, grabbing his axe from his belt, he threw it at the man holding her, hitting him in the back of the skull.

Magnus turned from sinking his blade into the neck of a solider from Egersund to see none other than Agnar killing the black-haired brute from mere minutes ago. Walking slowly towards the man, Magnus wiped a trickle of scarlet blood from his mouth with his sleeve, leaving a long, red stain. "Fancy meeting you here, Agnar." He spoke above the carnage, staring the man straight in the eyes, a wily grin on his face. "I imagined you've been telling the whole town about how much of a traitor I am...and you'd be right." His hands tightened around the hilt of his sword. "Because I'm going to kill you, Agnar."

One of Hakons men lept at Azura as she stepped off the ship, he had a sword, but a dagger in his sheath, as he was in midair, Azura snatched the dagger from his pocket and as the man was landing, she plunged the dagger into a main artery, killing him instantly, she pulled the dagger from his lifeless body, and ran unknowingly towards Astrid at a quick speed.

The pulling ceased, making her stumbled forward as the man toppled next to her. She looking up to see Agnar, and cursed at the ground. "Thanks" she breathed, stepping backwards from him, she knew he would be mad, but Magnus had come to take the attention off her. Astrid gawked at the two of them, both covered in blood, unsure if it was their own or someone else. She backed away slowly, avoiding any conflict with both of them and turned to see Azura running towards her, dagger in hand.

Azura had halted at the scene before her, Magnus facing Agnar abd Astrid idly watching by, Azura looked between the two men then Astrid before smirking and folding her arms "Doesn't it always come down to the love of a woman?" She said calmly and cooly before continuing, directing her talk for Astrid "each man wrapped around your little finger and yet you don't control them?" Azura looked back at the men with a smirk "I would've. At least until they ran out of fun" she said with an amused smirk. "I wonder, how does it feel knowing you probably will be the cause of one of their deaths?" Azura questioned cooly and slyly with a smirk. She was being cruel, she was pissed because she had been caught in this mess.

Aron followed swiftly after Azura as he looked at the battle not far from him, now without his weapons. He grumbled, knowing Chuyen would already be far, where he told him to go at times like these. He stopped by the body of the Viking, searching his body and only managing to find a worn hatchet to use as a weapon. He scowled as he saw Azura standing in the middle of a battlefield and trying to be witty, Aron continuing forward and going to push her out of the way as he stepped up to where he saw Agnar and Magnus, though quickly being distracted by a Viking coming at him. With a quick side-step and kick to his legs, Aron managed to make the hulking brute go down, raising his axe with the momentum before bringing it down on their head. Aron heaved a few breaths as he pulled out the viking's much larger axe, looking back at Magnus and Agnar.

Astrid glared at Azura, "what would you know of Love?" she looked her up, "you're only a pretty face, there is nothing else" she spat at her, after all Astrid had done she was going to speak to her like this... "I don't want either to die, but they are to choose their own fate" she spoke sadly , finally she had had enough, she grabbed Azura by the hair, pulling her head towards her own, "how does it feel knowing I can probably cause your death too" she growled at her, glaring at her.

@DarknessSpirit

Azura laughed at her situation before sending a hard elbow into Astrids stomach, which would definitely knock the breath out of her. "It feels like laughter, because you CANT" Azura growled back, her bloodied dagger still in hand. "Don't try and be something your not, because you certainly can't fight." Azura hissed, before turning to Aron "I'm heading back to Egersund. And I'm getting off this fucked up continent" Azura said angrily.

She coughed as her hands went to her stomach, her eyes shooting daggers at Azura. As Azura turned Astrid lifted her foot, kicking the girl to the ground, "I can't, doesn't mean others won't do it for me" she spoke through gritted teeth. She huffed, tossing her shield at the woman, "laugh all you want slave, but you're stuck here til someone takes you home" she spat at her. Looking her over again she made a face of disgust, "Or you can start swimming" she added turning to leave, she was needed other places.

Agnar did not speak but only stared back at Magnus, anger filling him. He dropped his shield and unsheathed his second sword now holding one in each hand. He twirled them around as he walked towards Magnus, he looked to Astrid as she fought with Azura, surprised that she had snuck along even when he had told her to stay at Egersund.

@John Raptorfist

Magnus felt himself churning with anger underneath his grinning exterior. He watched closely as Agnar dropped his shield, the large wooden object landed on the ground with a thud. Magnus decided to keep his, for a shield was your best friend in a fight. He kept his shield close to him, covering any vital areas as he circled his former earl. Crimson blood trickled out of the corners of his mouth. He was studying Agnar's movement. That was when he struck, the swede launched himself forward, using the rim of his shield to punch Agnar in the throat, probably causing him to not be able to breathe momentarily. With a snarl, he came in with a second strike with his shield, this time hitting Agnar in the jaw. Magnus backed off then, but only for a second, for he came charging back in, his sword rasied high in a slashing arc.

(A bit odd that they're having a rather intimate discussion in the middle of a beach head battlefield lel)

Hakon brought his great axe down onto Inghard, but the younger warrior rolled out of the way, the iron head smashing into the sand. Sending a kick into the back of Hakon's knee, Inghard managed to get him to drop low enough to land a heel kick straight to his jaw, sending him back. Scurrying to his feet, Inghard grabbed his axe off the ground but failed to reach his shield as Hakon had recovered.

Sending a wild slash with his axe towards Inghard, he landed a glancing blow. Inghard felt hot pain spread across his chest as the very edge of the Axe left a wide gash from his lower left pectoral to his right shoulder. His breath came hard as he recoiled, managing to leap back in time to avoid another strike.

Hakon's axe was swinging wildly in a circle, leaving Inghard no room to make an advance. A citizen of the town, seeing Inghard' situation, charged, but she was soon cut down by the enraged earl's axe. Inghard watched her fall, before charging the other man. He brought his axe down hard, but Hakon stopped it with the shaft of his axe, then twisted, cutting open Inghard's cheek.

"You are no match for me, boy! Neither was your father!" Hakon bellowed with another powerful strike of the axe. Inghard ducked under it and lunged forward, tackling Hakon to the dirt. Rising above the older earl, Inghard pulled his dagger from his boot and, with a blood curdling cry, brought it down into the earl's chest.

Hakon's eyes widened in pain as Inghard dragged the dagger down, completely opening Hakon's torso. His mouth opened in a silent scream, before his eyes rolled back into his head.

Azura lost her top, she got up and tackled Astrid to the ground, straight out of Arons grip which, which would make her land on her back, she pressed the dagger to the throat. "Do you know how easy it was for me to kill your men in England? Then I suggest you know how easy it would be for me to kill either of the men you love with their backs turned." Azura hissed coldly in Astrid's ear. "Tread carefully" Azura warned before getting up and spitting at Astrid and sending a hard kick in Astrids side. Azura turned and walked away from Astrid before looked at Agnar "Thanks for the ship." Azura said cooly before marching off in the direction of Egersund, ignoring Aron, she was to pissed off. The word slave always put her to anger.

As Azura took away the only way to end their fighting peacefully, he quickly improvised, assessing his interests as he regretfully backed away from Agnar and Magnus' conflict, heading off after Azura with Astrid laying on the floor. He needed to get to England, and Azura needed someone who could man a ship. He caught up to her after a short while, heaving breaths as he came. "I'm coming with you.." He trailed off after he spoke, walking next to her.

Azura looked down as she trudged on. Azura wasn't one to show weakness, but angry tears had welled in her eyes, which is why she looked down, trying to cover it up. "Why? You wanna call me a slave too?" Azura meant to his it at him, but her voice only came off weak and angry. She didn't look at him, she just kept her eyes to the ground.

Agnar stumbled back, trying to catch his breath after being hit in the throat, his jaw throbbed with pain, he barely had a moment to think before Magnus came sharge at him with his sword raised. Agnar parried Magnus' sword before striking fiercly at him, splintering parts of his shield before slashing at his arm. Suddenly Agnar felt a sharp burst of pain in his leg as an arrow hit him, he let out a sharp yelp of pain before steadying himself once again. As he looked over to the battle he could see some of Earl Hakon's men starting to flee back to the ships as their leader had fallen. Victory was near.

@John Raptorfist

Magnus hissed in pain as he felt the hot steel of Agnar's blade rip through the tender flesh of his arm. He tossed his shattered shield to the side with a snarl, looking Agnar dead in the eyes. Soon, he saw Hakon's men begin to flee back to the ships all around him. That could mean very few things. one of those would be that Hakon had died. What a mess this would turn out to be, Magnus thought before seeing arrow catch Agnar's leg. The man was wounded, the projectile piercing his flesh as he limped back up to regain himself. The swede jabbed at Agnar's flank, hoping to catch a vital organ, but he ended up only making a glancing blow.

@JacobLoL

Magnus' sword grazed Agnar's ribs sending a seering sensation up his body. He groaned, limping to the side before slashing again at Magnus, only to be blocked. He lunged forward again this time hitting Magnus on the jaw with the hilt of his sword. "My King!" Suddenly a few men ran up to the dueling pair, swords and axes drawn, ready to cut Magnus down "Leave us!" Agnar shouted back at them, spitting out blood in the process as he continued limping, doing his best to circle his enemy.

@John Raptorfist

The pain of it all was starting to become unbearable, his jaw now throbbed as the pain shot through it like sparks from the anvil of Thor himself. "I thought you'd be a good man, Agnar. But I see I was mistaken." He spat, blood still tricking down his face and onto his clothing, ever renewed by the hit the swede suffered from the hilt of Agnar's sword. Magnus still just looked on with his icy eyes, a wry grin plastered to his bearded face. He growled, charging forward at his former earl and heatbutting him, using the ridge of his helm to amplify his striking power. Looking around, Magnus found himself becoming ever more exposed. Most of the men on earl Hakon's side had fled and the swede was becoming for vulnerable to an archer. "I'm sorry Agnar, how 'bout we continue this little tussle some other time, eh?" He said chuckled, clutching his stomach, he thought maybe he'd cracked a rib. Magnus then dashed into the water, feeling the cool liquid on his legs as his limped to a boat, jumping on.

@JacobLoL

The pain seemed to explode on Agnar's face as blood filled his mouth from Magnus' helmet slamming into his face. The battle was now coming to an end as Agnar's army had successfully repelled and routed Hakon's as they fled back to their boats with much less men then they had landed with. Magnus ran off, chuckling but Agnar's expression remained as serious as ever "That's right Magnus, Run!" He yelled after the swede. Stumbling a little before falling to his knee's as he watched the broken army desperately clamber onto the boats. His vision became blurred as blood trickled down his face, pain radiating from multiple parts of his body.

Astrid pulled herself up off the ground, her body hurt, the assult from Azursa causing her to swaying rather light headed. She sighed as Magnus headed for the boats, she knew she should disappear too, before Agnar remembered she was there. Turning quickly she hurried away from him, trying to find her way out of the village. Astrid stopped, something made her turn to Agnar, she wanted to help him, but she had to put distance between herself and this army.

She stumbled to a stop, finally giving her a moment to catch her breath. She had made it to the farmlands on the outskirts of the village. She flopped onto her back, the grass tall enough to hide her as she caught her breath. All she knew was she needed to get North.

On the slick deck of the ship, Magnus lay on his back. Everything hurted. The only way to even slightly ease the pain was to lay very, very still. The stars were creeping up in the sky as the great burning orb that was the sun sunk below the horizion. Only the groans of the wounded and and the slosh of the water as the ship's prow ran through it could be heard. Halon wasn't with them. He had probably died in action, such is the way of warriors. Despite all of this, Magnus couldn't help but smile a little. With Hakon dead, he could assert himself as earl of Birseig amidst the chaos. Not only that, but Astrid would be coming as well. She had fought quite well in that engagement, he thought. Maybe with some training, she'd turn out to be a fine warrior.
