Realistic or Modern Age of Vikings (Always Accepting!)

Azura had only enough time to turn her head as she was tackled the ground. Unfortunately it was the leader or whatever of the Vikings. Azura struggled under his grip and flinched when another Viking mentioned her being a slave, something she had been so familiarized with in her life. And she had a good guess on what kind of slavery he was talking about. She looked at the leader and answered his question coldly "What would it matter?", she had a very pretty and strong Bulgarian accent in her tone. Then another Viking came over, obviously pissed, she flinched as he played with her dark hair. But she wouldn't let him see her deep fear. Instead she leaned up and whispered into his ear "There was no greater pleasure then sending arrows into your men's fiery hearts." She whispered coldly.

Agnar pushed her back down firmly, he could tell that Magnus and many of the other Vikings would kill her for her antagonizing statement "Dont push your luck" Agnar hissed at the girl. "What kingdom is this?" He asked her holding his bloody sword at her throat (you pick, Northumbria, Wessex, Mercia, East Anglia). He didnt want to kill the girl as she could be quite useful to them due to her knowledge of the land. "Tell me, or i'll let them have you" He said knodding his head to Magnus and the other men.

Magnus grinned wryly at the girl's statement, taking his reddened knife away from her throat. "Fiery hearts indeed. But sadly, you won't be doing that anytime soon." The swede said with a booming laugh, picking up the girls bow and smashing it over his knee, sending splinters oh wood in all directions. He tossed the two peices of the once powerful weapon aside, all while twirling the seax in his hand. "Why don't you just let me have her anyway, Agnar? Just as...punishment for all the damage she's done, eh?"

Azura looked at the sword pressed to her neck then back at the man pinning her down. She let out a reluctant sigh before answering "Mercia" she answered reluctantly trying to struggle before feeling her bow taken away from her. She watched him break it. She did a small shrug "I stole that anyway." Azura said with blazing eyes. This time she didn't flinch as he mentioned "having her"

Agnar held up his hand to Megnus "Not yet, she may be of use" He spoke as she answered that they were in Mercia, the largest kingdom in England. He sighed before standing up "Bind her hands" he commanded. Looking away he watched as the warband ravaged the town bringing back assortments of gold and silver and even what looked to be a large golden cross. "What is that?" He asked the girl, pointing to a viking who was carrying the cross.

Magnus let out an irritated grunt and stepped back from the girl. "Merica, huh? What an odd name..." The man then turned to the looting party, spotting treasures from simple foodstuffs to massive bejeweled and golden object, like nothing Magnus had ever seen before. "Why would they just leave their treasure out in the open like this? Why do they not hoard it?" Magnus asked half to himself, half to Agnar. One raider even wore a small golden pendant he had snatched up that mirrored the symbol seen with the larger object. "Is this all they make? This...shape?" He asked once again, rubbing his Thor pendant between his bloodied fingers.

Azura kicked a Viking in the knee as her hands were getting bound. "Don't touch me." She hissed as her hands were secured and bound. She then looked at the cross. "Do you guys under a rock?" Azura scowled before answering "It's called a cross dumbass. It resembles a religion called Christianity. There is basically only one God. Or two and it resembles the lord Jesus Christ, son of God. Christianity is quite popular in England." She said irritably. She didn't follow a religion herself.

Magnus scowled at the woman's response, punching her in the head. "Don't talk back, whore. Only speak when spoken to." He hissed in a low tone. Turing his attention to the Eral he said, "Looks like we have a land of idiots, ignorant to the will of the allfather. I say we kill as many of these Saxons as we can, Agnar. It ought to appease the gods." He said, getting excited over the mere thought of it. "Maybe we could even give some the bloodeagle." Magnus then faced the girl, crouching down to her level, his ice blue eyes glittering. "Tell me more of this 'God'"

Azura gave the Viking a cold glare as he hit her, saying nothing. Then he started rambling on about his gods. "Spare me the details." Azura muttered under her breath. Then he looked back at her. She could smell his wretched breath. Making her scroll before saying. "Supposedly the belief is that God created the world and all life on it. Then some woman got pregnant, even though nobody got to third base with her and her baby was thought to be a savior of some kind, the son of God. The baby was born and he was named Jesus, blah blah blah he helped some people out, made some followers who made a religion called Christianity, some people didn't like the new religion so they strung him up on a cross, nailed Jesus there and killed him. However a couple days later he was non longer where he was buried and thought to come back to life. There's a large book called a bible that multiple people have that talks about God and Jesus and such." Azura explained boredly.

As Magnus soaked in the details of this new religion, he couldn't help but laugh."So, they worship a dead God? That was to weak to fight back agansit his aggressors? HAHA! By Frey, what a joke!" He laughed, slapping the ground with the palm of his hand, as he was still crouched. "You have to be kidding me!" He shouted over in Earl Agnar's direction. "Are you hearing this?! These Saxons worshiped a dead God! If their God is so weak, then image how frail his followers are." Mangnus then got to his feet, picking a new axe out of the supplies to compensate for the breaking of his old one. He gave it a few test swings, it held up well and made a clean whooshing noise as the blade sailed through the air. "Now, Agnar, want to go loot some of these houses before the boys pick it clean?"

As he spoke Azura worked on her bounds, she started slowly scraping then against one of her daggers, cutting slowly into the leather bounds.

"Facinating" Agnar said "But tell me, Why didnt your god protect you from us?" Agnar stood up, adressing the warband "Why didnt your god strike us down!?" He yelled to the warband. A few of the vikings laughed. He turned to Magnus "Yes, let's loot and we'll bring the girl with us" He said not trusting to leave her alone seeing as she had killed half a dozen of his men.

Azura let out an amused laugh, cocking her head she spoke "Honestly I wouldn't be really questioning religion considering your gods just let me kill a dozen of your men" she said with a fake mock frown. "And as for taking me..." Azura broke through the bonds she had been cutting, with a back hand slash she slit the Vikings throat nearest to her then as a Viking went to grab her she spun him around and held a dagger to his throat. Backing away from the men with the Viking. "You've put yourself in a risky situation, now tell me, am I going to have to kill him to make a point? I am not a toy, not an object, and I will never be a slave again." Azura had killed the only one behind her, and she was certainly very pissed from the looks of it.

"Because that is how we wish to die. In battle. Then we will surely go to Valhalla." Magnus mumbled to the woman, looking down for a second. When his gaze returned to her, she was free, and a dead Northmen lay at his feet. She spoke about not being and object of a slave ever again "well, now you just blew your chance at redemption. Agnar! May I have at her?" He said, deeply and steadily, a hard face adorned him.

Azura laughed "Redemption. Redemption?! I wouldn't have been let go anyway! You have no further need of me. So either I kill him or you let me walk freely." She continued backing away from them with the knife at the Vikings throat, you could tell she wasn't new to this.

Magnus coolly gazed at the fellow Viking who was being held a knifepoint. Beads of sweat trickled down the man's face, though he looked scared, he maintained his composure fairly well. "What is your name?" Magnus asked. The northman gulped and spoke. "Thjord." Magnus nodded, uneasily slicking back his blonde hair. "Are you ready to die for your, gods, country, and earl, Thjord? One who dies in battle shall surely feast in the great halls of Valhalla!" He told the man in a hushed tone. The man's face straightened. "Yes." Turning his attention to the lithe woman in black. "You heard him." Viking warriors slowly crept up from houses behind her, locking to a motley sheildwall. "You also seem to forget you are in the middle of a warband, Saxon."

Azura leaned toward the Viking in her grasp and whispered in his ear "It's sad they want me more than you." She said before slitting his throat, blood spurting out before he dropped gurgling to the ground. The men behind her rushed at her. She turned and did a sweep kick, kicking most down but others dodged it. She took an arrow from her quilt and threw it into ones chest, she leaped uon another, stabbing his chest as she did so and took off at a very fast sprint, jumping over any obstacles in her path. She was very fast, deft and quick so asset runner would only be able to catch her.

You can totally kill somebody by throwing an arrow into their chest xD *sarcasm)

In a moment it was all over. Thjorn lay bleeding on the village streets, the rest of the men stunned. Magnus growled, tossing his axe in his hand, as he often did when impatateint. "You could say she was more trouble than she was worth." He grunted. Magnus turned to his Earl. "Just going to stand there, while this whore kills our men?! I followed you because I thought you had potential, but I guess you don't even have the guts to kill some petty Saxon woman, eh?!?" He suddenly yelled. Magnus didn't necessarily mean what he was saying, he was just letting his frustration get the best of him. "Man up, boy! I bet you that Odin is frowning upon you for this!" Magnus said in a tirade, pacing back and fourth. He stalked over to the slave pens and dragged out a Saxon boy, looking around the age of fifteen. They boy yelped and a puddle formed around his feet as the Swede whirled his axe above his head. Then, as fast as a snake, Mangus struck the boy's face, sending scarlet droplets of warm blood flying. The teen let out a bloodcurdling screech as the axe head sliced clear through his upper lip, nose, and lower forehead. Magnus then struck him again, and again, screaming, "THIS IS FOR THE GODS! THIS IS FOR MY PEOPLE! THIS IS FOR ALL THAT DIED TODAY!" Magnus hacked into the boy's face with every statement until it went silent. He rolled the Saxon's body away, his face was so disfigured it resembled a bloody mash. Magnus then stalked up to Agnar, his face heavily flecked with blood, his breathing heavy. "You have a lot to learn."

Azura slowed down a little later, after realizing she was no longer being pursued. Idiots. She thought to herself as she trudged through the woods, making a further distance between her and the Vikings. She's find another boat, and get off the continent. Maybe Bulgaria...

(Hahaha don't worry, he's just wounded.)

Agnar watched as Magnus killed the young Saxon boy. "Let her go" Agnar told his men as he watched the girl take off at a sprint, she was certainly more trouble then she was worth. "Take everything of value, Kill everyone, then burn the village" Agnar commanded, he was quite infuriated at the loss of his men.

As Azura trudged on she felt for her gold purse, one that was always in her pocket, her pocket was empty. Azura swore loudly. Pounding her fist against a tree in a fit of anger. She couldn't go anywhere without gold to bribe her way through. She weighed her chances, either find a fishing boat and take off at seas with little chance of survival, or go back. Azura looked at her wrist, it was bleeding, a large cut seared into it, she was losing blood, a Viking must've cut into her wrist as she was fighting.

Azura got up, holding her wrist and trying to prevent it from bleeding and sprinted back towards the village. Azura came from south of the village gate, and deftly climbed over the wall hidden from view. Azura opened the wooden from the back of the tavern, entering quietly, she grabbed her gold purse, which was hidden under a floorboard and started for the back door of the tavern again.

Magnus wrinkled his brow, his face still red with blood and fury before and walked off to moderately-sized wooden house that looked untouched. Using his axe, he smashed down the ridged, ash door and stepped inside. It was dark and musty, the inhabitants seemed to be long gone, maybe they left before they had arrived. Magnus collected all of the small Christ-God symbols he found on a shrine of sorts before digging into the shelves and drawers. Nothing. Nothing of value, at least. Magnus then tipped over the bed in the room and found something that brought a little smile to his face. A chest. Using the back of his axe, Magnus was able to simply smash the lock off. Inside was a good lump of gold coins, which in which Magnus lifted up onto his shoulder and brought back to the loot pile.

Agnar kicked in the wooden door of one of the houses. Suddenly he heard a yell and a saxon man came running at him with what looked like a dagger. Agnar quickly parried the dagger with one of his swords and thrust the other through the mans stomach, impaling him. The man spat blood before Agnar kicked him to the ground. After searching the house he found a small purse of gold and silver coins and a few silver cups which he added to the loot pile outside.

Next, Agnar and a few men went towards the tavern in search of more loot and just as he placed his hand on the tavern door, it opened, revealing the girl that had killed so many of his men. Agnar let out a warcry headbutting her right on the nose, he heard a crack he then hit her with hilt of his sword and the two men with him grabbed both her arms as Agnar took her dagger from her hand and searched her for all weapons, she would not be killing any more of his men (or escaping). He pondered on wether or not to kill the girl as he liked her fighting spirit and knowledge of the land but then again she had killed his men and he knew Magnus would not be happy if he allowed her to live.

Magnus heard what sounded like a scrap by a building that looked like a tavern of sorts. The swede dashed over there from the loot pile to find Agnar and a few more of the men looming over the same Saxon woman that had just ran away earlier. Grunting, Mangus set is icy blue gaze on his earl, still somewhat angry from earlier. "What are you waiting for, Agnar? Kill her. Slaughter her like the squealing pig she is." He hissed between grated teeth. "And if you won't...I gladly will..."

Agnar considered Magnus' words, but for some reason he didnt want to kill her but wanted to take her back to Egersund and learn what she knew. He looked at his men and knew that sparing her would not go down well. "The sacrifice at Uppsala is coming up soon, We'll take her back to Egersund" He paused and looked at Magnus "Then you can draw a blood eagle on her back as a sacrifice to Odin".
