Since things will slow down after the revival, will they be separated? I'm curious to see what'll slow things down lol
I can't really argue with anything Chuckles said. He's right. There is homebrew then there is making it up as one goes along. Which I don't mind, so long as there is some degree of consistency. Even homebrew games have rules. And it is hard to function in one without knowing them, and hard to progress without being able to trust they won't change. Think the difference between Dark Souls and Unfair Mario.Didn't the rp interest check thingy clearly say homebrew?
There was a spoiler with it, about a TPK event. Toryk just made it happen fasterI kinda thought that was just like a scripted encounter.

It was more slammed than pushed xD That one time that the dice are actually generousI think he just took the bait.
Put a group of PCs in a room with a big red button and just wait for someone to push it.
The only thing that makes sense to me out of that is Dark Souls.
I guess I don't really kno how dice stuff works or why rules are such a big deal but I feel like maybe we haven't really let very much play out :T
Was it the dying part that has everyone's panties in a bunch?
I kinda thought that was just like a scripted encounter. So the who's, how's and what's don't really matter.

Glad to see you'll stick around. I was looking forward to Hopsek Hijinks!I should have been more diplomatic in my explanation for deciding to drop*, especially the mechanics point:
yes, it was tagged as homebrew, I mistakenly assumed that referred to the fear and sanity mechanics along with the campaign setting, and then the leveling was determined to be different and while unexpected it was easy enough to deal with.
I’m not mad that mechanically this how TyranntX wants to run his game, it’s his campaign and world and he has every right to run it as he sees fit. On that front it really is just me realizing it might be more mechanically different than I care to deal with. That fault falls on me for misunderstanding the context of “home brewed” the interest check. It’s a little hard to explain but I enjoy D&D style roleplaying differently than I do strictly narrative role playing (I can not stress this enough: I’m fine with the narrative of what’s happening, this is NOT about the TPK or the level of power the enemies have or anything like that at all.)
As for IC progression vs OOC time, I was upset but I’m sure came off as more upset than necessary. I’m sure as the story progresses that will slow down and sort itself out and obviously I’m aware that sometimes things progress unintentionally fast IC.
This isn’t really a good excuse but over the weekend I had some last minute stuff put on my plate irl that caused me to be a little overly stressed last night into this morning. I shouldn’t have made any decision in that state of mind and I DEFINITELY should have messaged TyranntX and explained my reservations instead of making a public post (I went to bed intending to do just that and let the story progress through the current events like he has stressed). In my stressed out state I failed to do that. I apologize.
So long as TyranntX and everybody is fine with it, I’ll stick around and see how the story progresses, because I honestly do think this story and campaign setting is REALLY COOL and I have really enjoyed what he has built and everyone’s characters so far.
Again, sorry for being dramatic, it’s not normal from me, like I said just an unexpected amount of irl stress this weekend!
