Clearly, Dwarven women aren't exactly the most... Beautiful of the races, if you catch my drift. That, and the fact that it's probably really hard to get one pregnant, and you've got a rather reduced population to begin with. Tack on losing a majority of your race in a war against one of the fastest reproducing fantasy race ever, and you end up with a lot of dead dwarves, and almost no new dwarf babies.
There's also the problem of a small population. Because of the small population, incest and all the horrible genetic diseases that come with get tacked onto the dwarves. By this point in time, every dwarf alive is probably related in some way.
Since this is fantasy, maybe we can do away with those disturbing details xD

I've seen bearded dwarf women. A lot of fantasy settings I've encountered have bearded dwarf women.
I mean, realism should be strived for, I'd say.

these ARE dwarves. They'd probably be bragging how their wife's beard is better than the next guy's wife or hell even the next guy.

We have established that dwarves can only make children with other dwarves. Wouldn't it make biological sense that their minds are evolved to be attracted to members of their own race, ones that they can actually reproduce with? It is the same reason as to why humans are only attracted to humans, dogs to other dogs and etc. So by that logic, while you might not like a dwarven woman, a dwarf male or whatever dwarf that is attracted to dwarven women would love to pound that shit.
