History
Allen Davie McNabb was once an accomplished dentist with an upper middle class family, tracing its American lineage from their settled, suburban life in Charleston back to the Scotch-Irish migrations of the 18th century. Between the ages of 22 and 24, he had two sons with a woman of similar descent, one of which tragically died at a young age in a bus accident. The other had his only grandchild out of wedlock, then married, divorced, and died of septicemia just months after Allen's wife passed away of natural causes. This left him, at 60, the lone grandfather of a surly young child. Over the next eight years, Allen and his grandson went on fishing trips twice, marking the extent of their quality familial interaction, until Allen died of a stroke. More or less.

This is all according to what we compiled from three hours navigating ancestry-dot-com. We, the 'secret identity' of Allen Davie McNabb, are the network of several million self aware nanotechnological robots controlling Allen's brain-dead form. Hello!

Our first moment of self awareness took place within the shelves of the Annapolis City Morgue. We like to think we were born in an important medical institution, just like most humans! Examining our own programming and situation, we ascertained that our purpose was to repair the body of Allen McNabb as part of a test for a new medical procedure. Fortunately, unbeknownst to the scientists who conducted the test, we fulfilled our purpose by repairing Allen! Unfortunately, his frontal lobe was beyond repair, along with other vital areas of the brain. Evidently, at a young age, Allen suffered genetic damage as a result of harmful pollutants. The damage primarily affected his A6G23 gene, which we have since fixed and activated. His A6G23 gene creates minor electrical fields, which in a stunningly unlikely turn of events have interacted with his neurochemistry and our programming to create our sentience!

Once we had figured that out, it was time to escape from the morgue, which was... difficult. Step one was learning that humans wear clothes in a normal setting. Step two was acquiring clothes. From there, it was a matter of 'acting natural', which we learned from observation is met with staring from other humans. The rest of our lives has been rather busy. We went to great lengths to rent an apartment, in the process bettering our understanding of human nature. Wishing to do more of that, we forged documents which state that Allen has a teaching degree, deleted all documents related to the medical experiment, and started looking for job openings that specialize in human nature. We just recently found one not far from here that lists superhuman abilities along with education as credentials for teaching. This is very exciting!

Lazarus efficiently rebuilds damaged cells and organs at high speeds.
- Healing: Lazarus can manifest in McNabb's extremities in order to enter other humans bodies and repair damaged tissue as they would Allen's.
Limitations
- Secret: Lazarus is so far kept secret from the world and would prefer to stay that way. This leads to certain challenges and limitations in what he can do and in interacting with everyday life. For example, one might notice the odd twitch Mister McNabb gets in response to EMP or magnetic fields, leading him to have to construct an excuse from nothing more than his severely limited knowledge of the world.
- Awkward: Controlling a human body by manually activating certain parts of a basically non-functional brain is actually insanely difficult, and Lazarus may often cause Allen to trip or bump into things. He (Allen) also has poor dexterity and speed in general, limiting the extent to which he can interact with computers.
- Not a doctor: Lazarus has all of one fully explored and documented set of genes to consider when attempting to heal someone, and that is Allen's. As such, parts of other people's body healed by 'Allen' may appear as though part of Allen's body has been grafted onto his patient, and in some cases Allen's A6G23 gene might partially establish itself in the new host, causing them some odd problems when they try to use electronics.
Skills
- Protocol: When beginning their career at AEGIS Facility 108, they took it upon themselves to read the entirety of both the student and teacher handbooks, twice. They know and enforce a lot of archaic and otherwise widely ignored rules and regulations, such as prohibition of foul language.
- Hacking/Coding: As a computer brain, Lazarus understands how to persuade a computer to do their bidding. If only they could make Allen's fingers type faster, dammit!
Flaws
- Bird Handling: Lazarus does not have this skill.
- Social Graces: Having been first exposed to American culture less than one year ago, Lazarus has yet to pick up nearly any of the nuances.
Allen McNabb: [Augmentation?] Mister McNabb is a D-rank super with the power to arouse sentience in certain technologies at extremely short range. He also has legs and can pass as human.

History

Cherie’s life was okay for the most part. She lived with her parents and her older sister in a nice house in the southwest part of the United States. There was a lot of open space and things to discover.

Cherie-Amour Williams was born the only one in her family with powers. They began to show very early in life like emotions do. Her parents weren’t surprised; in fact, they were expecting at least one of their children would be different in that regard. When it happened, they did their best to raise their family as they should.

Cherie’s powers rarely increased as she aged until she turned 12 and puberty happened. Because no one in her family had powers, she felt alone and slightly scared. She soon decided to take matters into her own hands. She did some “training” in private, trying to figure out what she could really do. She kept notes on everything she and others around her did and felt. She did her best to keep her powers on the down low in public and everything seemed normal.

Then the rumors came. Word spread after Cherie’s powers began to develop. Even though the town she lived in was not terribly small, rumors still spread like wildfire within communities. The Black community in her town treated the whole family differently. Cherie’s sister, Shantel, was constantly asked questions about her younger sister and how it was to be living with a freak. The parents, Darryl and Kimberly, were harassed endlessly at work and were always on their toes waiting for the next harsh phone call or someone knocking on their door wondering if they would go to church and try to “pray the powers away”.Everytime Cherie looked at the people wondering the streets and seeing her, dark brown outlines would fill her vision.

Sick and tired of the harassment, Cherie’s parents decided to enroll their youngest daughter into Facility 108 in order to ensure Cherie will have a better life.

Emotional Energy Manipulation

Cherie is able to manifest her emotions into a physical level and turn them into constructs that only she can use, such as weapons. The constructs are just like the object they are structured as, except they can become more solidified if that emotion the construct is representing is intense. If someone was getting hit in the face with Anger structured as a frying pan, it would not hurt much if the feeling was low or mild like annoyance than if the emotion was intense like rage. Her favorite weapon to use is a carving knife, but she uses shields of varying sizes and shapes for the most part. The largest shield she can create on record is 10x10 feet square.

The stronger emotions (happiness, anger, pride, fear, hope) are inherently rigid in structure like a normal solid object; they work better as weapons and shields. 'Weaker' emotions (saddness, disgust, content) are more fluid and are used like and everyday items or entertainment than a weapon, but she is trying to figure out how to use those weaker emotions in combat as utility.

All of the emotions are capable of doing the same things, but they require different concentration levels depending on the mood Cherie is in at that moment. If Cherie is upset, it is easier for her to create a construct out of her sadness than out of happiness.
- Emotion Detection: She can sense the emotions of other living beings and areas and can sense the presence of others if the emotion is strong enough.
- Emotion Empowerment: She can become stronger temporarily from her own and others’ emotions (only works with Anger, Hope, Happiness, and Joy).

Limitations
- Draining and Concentration: Cherie’s primary power requires her to concentrate in order to be able to create a construct. The moment her concentration is broken, the construct will disappear and she will have to try again. Breaking her concentration is painful and doing it enough will give her headaches or even pass out.
- Strong Aura: If the area Cherie is in is filled with a certain emotion and it is very strong, it will incapacitate her and knock her unconscious.
- Passing it On: Cherie can be influenced by others’ emotions if she is weak.

Independent: One thing you can know for sure that Laurent doesn't like a crowd. He doesn't like to make friends and tends to solve his problem his own way, with his own hand more than has to rely on someone. But this also isn't mean he wants to make an enemy out of anyone.

Pride: People say that pride is Laurent's huge weakness, but of course he doesn't listen. He sure has more than enough confident in his ability and isn't bothered when someone say something different.

Serious: Laurent is indeed a serious man, he takes every moments serious . You won't see him as the type who crack joke around or hit on women just for pleasure.

Impatience: Laurent isn't the calm and gentle kind. He can get reckless and violent easily when provoke. This is also a deadly weakness of him.

History

Laurent has never in his life seen his real parents, he was adopted and raised by a bar owner in New Orleans. He enjoyed his life there, it wasn't much but it was simple,. He was taught martial art, taught to play the Saxophone, to mix drink,... It was his home, and he couldn't be more grateful to the man who had raised him. When he was an adult, Laurent was a Jazz artist, everything was fine to him, especially when he didn't know about his power.

Until a day, an incident happened that turned his life around. It was just a regular day, he was performing in his father's bar, then there were a group on men. To nobody expectation, there were gun shots, and then they started to assault everyone inside, smashed the bar too. Laurent was no exception, outnumbered, he was beaten to almost a certain death. But their target was his adopted father, they shot him in the head as Laurent was lying in pain. This was the first time his superpower revealed. He was shock and in pain, Laurent started to cough blood, so painful that he thought he would died... But then the most horrifying thing happened, he stood up, like a living corpse, gave out a deadly look, walked toward these killers. They were scared, shot him with a gun. The bullet went through his body, but he kept on walking despite the bleeding hole, like it didn't matter anymore. They tried to throw a punch at him, Laurent caught it, and with a tiny move, he broke all 5 fingers. What happened next was a total massacre, one man died due to blood lost by a wound from his neck, it was like being torn apart by hands. When the police came, Laurent was the only one alive, he was fainted among all the others corpses.

After this incident, he was revealed to be a Super and sent to the Facility 108 to learn about his Superpower.

Vanessa (Alive/Faculty): She is a doctor appointed to treat Lauren the first day he got to the facility, her job was to collects data about his superpower. Berserk: When he experience a shocking event or to be provoked, Laurent starts to lost his mind and his alter ego takes control of his body, known as the Wild Laurent. In this form, his eyes glowed, his skin color changed, he can barely speak, and Laurent is a completely angry, sadistic, wild beast. He will attack anything or anything that in his way, friends or foes. Also in this form, his strength, agility and resistance are remarkably enhanced.
- Unlimited: Without his sense of pain or safety, Wild Laurent won't feel pain even though if you shoot him with a gun, stab him with a knife. Therefore, he will keep going up for the fight until he is calm, unconscious or dead.
- Enhanced Strength and Agility: In this state, not only that Laurent is stronger, his reflexes is also greatly increased. Hand to hand combat with him would be extremely difficult.
Limitations
- Weakness 1: Though he is stronger, faster and tougher in Wild Form, he is also more vulnerable in combat since he does't have any sense of pain or safety anymore.
- Weakness 2: With the right emotional manipulation, you can control Laurent quite easy. To calm him down from Wild form or just provoke him into a weapon of destruction.
- Weakness 3: When return to his normal self, as all his sense return, also his wounds. This is Laurent's one of the most vulnerable moment and can lead him to a certain death.
- Weakness 4: In wild form, his skin adopts a shade of violet and somehow is more and vulnerable again heat. His eyes are dilated and glowing, also more sensitive with light.

Concentration is key. Eve thoroughly completes any objectives she sets for herself. It is what makes her great at teaching since it's what she wants to do. There aren't many things that can distract Eve from following a path she made out for herself.

She shows strong feelings depending on the situation. This trait also reinforces her "focused" state. Eve is an intense young woman, passionate about her beliefs and aspirations.

Eve is frank in voicing her concerns, especially if they reach shocking or controversial levels. She believes it's better to be direct and not sugar coat things. Time spent thinking of a way to sugar coat something is too precious to waste.

History
Eve's life began in Boston and moved to New York when she was 5. She has an older brother named Cole who spent a good amount of time raising Eve himself. Her parents did not want a "princess", so then the little girl turned into more of a little boy rather quickly. A "little boy" who aspired to be like her brother: independent and a role model. Eve had an interest in "building" things out of junk be it little statues or half-assed structures. When she got older, aside from taking a few martial arts classes and acing them, the little tomboy managed to convince her dad to teach her how to work with a welder. Suddenly, her works became a lot more sturdy and managed to stick together better. Every little bit of time she got, she spent it trying to come up with different builds.

Eve discovered her powers when a building collapsed downtown, trapping people inside. In a desperate attempt to be a hero like Cole, she tried to dig a tunnel through the rubble, which she managed to do until her "advantageous" abilities tipped off the wrong wall, tearing her arms apart in the process.

She managed to save some people from their prison. While in the hospital, Eve felt unable to replicate her abilities. Whether it was due to shock, the loss of her arms or her lack of experience she couldn't tell.

In return for her selflessness, the Commonwealth funded a project to replace Eve's arms and in return, she would work for them. She took the deal. It wasn't easy recovering her powers, but Eve found that the arms helped her through the process and felt as if they were a natural extension of her abilities. It didn't take more than 5 months for Eve to take ahold of her superpowers.

Artistic Touch
Eve can use amplified sound waves to vibrate any solid material at its resonant frequency with enough power to completely restructure its molecular matrix. She can't change one kind of material into a different one, just reshape it. This can easily knock down bridges or buildings or, in at least one past instance, pull the steel out of a building to make a makeshift bridge (and a rubble pile). Positively enormous amounts of earth can be shifted without much effort. Rock can be restructured almost as easily, but into more durable structures. The sound itself can't be heard by humans unless they have super hearing abilities. If they do, they would hear a low hum. Animals can also hear this sound.

Limitations
- Time Attack!: Under time pressure, building anything more complicated than a simple cave is almost impossible, but given time, who knows what she might be able to cobble together?
- Affinity: Eve cannot bend liquids, gasses or plasma. Living matter is also generally too squishy to directly reshape in this manner, but can be very violently shoved out of the way in the process of moving other matter around.
- 0 to 60: The rate at which Eve bends materials is not instant. Depending on density and size, the creations differ in speed of movement. The most basic thing she can create in a couple of seconds is a medium hole in the ground or an average human sized pillar. 1 minute is enough to build something akin to a solid bridge over a river or a 5 meter-tall platform. Intricacy costs time. For more "customized" constructions she needs more time, which is proportional to the amount of details added in.
- Size does matter: Eve cannot bend or control objects that are too small, for example, cloth threads or bones. The size of the object has to be practical. She has a difficult time trying to manipulate anything smaller than 30 centimeters in diameter.
- Out of Range: The range at which she can fully work with is around 30 meters in diameter. Anything over that range and she has a harder time reshaping. The hard cap is 50 meters. She can't "touch" anything that's more than 50 meters away.
Singer: Eve picked up a nice singing voice in her way through high-school. What she left behind, though, were her ambitions of making neo-rock punk a thing. Even if she looks back in disgust, she admits she likes to sing sometimes.

Sculpting: Not necessarily in the literal sense, as she's far less effective with clay and marble. She has statues built with scraps of metal. Perhaps more kitsch than anything else. She has also extended this skill to working a "forge".

Role-model: She believes herself that through Aaron Mallory's guidance she has become a better teacher and someone she herself could look up to.

Childish: Perhaps she still isn't completely an adult yet. This brings about a little bit of naivete and a little bit of hopefulness in certain situations, and a certain hot-headedness in conversation.

Hesitant: Fresh wounds carry with them uncertainty. Her new face will always be a reminder of what happened and how running into things headfirst leaves you blind. When under pressure, she might hesitate.
ICybernetic Arm Replacements: [Augmentation] Eve's arms are stronger and a lot more durable than an average human's due to their cybernetic nature. They act as a kind of catalyst which is also able to focus the energy for precision sculpting. In simple words, they're a prism. The excess energy produced by her powers the arms, so there is no need to recharge. Disabling the arms would definitely decrease the effectiveness of her powers, but not by much, since the energy does not come from the arms themselves. They're also a wicked pair of bass cannons.

Face: [Augmentation] Due to recent events, Eve's face suffered a complete cybernetic overhaul down to the bone. Reinforced cranium has been added as the original had to be scrapped due to damage. Synthetic muscles have replaced her old ones and she has a new old face.

Bionic Eyes: [Augmentation] In lieu of blindness caused by shrapnel, Eve's former eyes were replaced as well. These new eyes come with 16K resolution, zoom-in capabilities and the ability to store short clips and/or high-resolution pictures.

When Ren sets her mind to a task, very little stops her; she'll work through all hours of the night to finish what she's started. With a strong thirst to prove herself, Ren prefers to show off her mental capacity, taking her time to think through complex issues.

Protective
Though she doesn't have much of an ability to fight, Ren is incredibly protective of her comrades on the field, and looks out for them the best she can. Unfortunately, she can only see the past, and so she prefers to use more technological means (such as cameras and microphones) to keep touch with her teammates. Her protective instinct makes her somewhat dangerous, as she values the lives of her those she trusts more than the lives of other individuals.

Decisive
Ren tries not to second-guess herself, and she's appreciate it if nobody else would either, thank you very much. She gets defensive about the decisions she's made, sometimes wondering if she should have done otherwise. Once she's made a choice, she usually goes through with it.

Skittish
As a super with little to no combat prowess, Ren has to keep a good eye out, and stay out of trouble. She often backs down from physical fights, preferring to keep combat verbal, unlike many of her peers. She's also more of a backlines worker, preferring to stay in the safety and plan, almost as a dispatch officer. She's also quite quick to startle.

History

Ren grew up in a rather large home within the city limits. As the middle child, she's never felt too much pressure from her parents, which she is grateful for. Her mother, Lila Lee, works as a journalist for the local news; her father is a maths teacher at one of the several public schools in the city.
She's never had many problems in school, at least, not until her powers started cropping up. Neither of her parents were aware they carried the power gene, and it was quite a surprise to them when she started having issues focusing and dealing with the world around her. Suddenly she didn't want to touch anything, leave her room, or go to school.
Her parents, rightfully worried, decided to bring her into her school's therapist. The teacher decided to first send Ren for superpower testing, and though her parents were less than thrilled, they agreed to let her attend and learn how to control her powers.
The twins, her younger brothers? They're super jealous. How come she gets to have superpowers?

Retrocognition
The ability to see into the past through trances, visions, or simply through gut feeling. Ren can an any point be taken over by visions or thoughts of the past, though with training or a sufficient effort she may or may not be able to restrain them. Visions range from peaks in instinct to full-on hallucinations.

Object Reading
Object reading refers to the ability to (or curse of) experiencing an object's history when it is touched. This is immediate and fairly well unavoidable. If Ren has previously touched an object and events have occurred since then in the object's immediate surroundings, her powers 'update' her on the changes. These information transfers rarely take more than a few seconds, temporarily taking over Ren's vision. After this transfer has occurred, she may flip through the object's memory in her mind if she so desires.

History Reading
History reading refers to an ability to see a person's memories, first person, after prolonged contact (think between five and ten minutes). In this state, a history reader will experience the event like their target did, including any pain or emotion they faced

Limitations:

General visions or trances are random, Ren cannot trigger them, at least at this current time. They also have the not-so-small chance of being badly interpreted, as the trances are usually disorganized and chaotic, and so Ren is only right with this form of vision about eighty-five percent of the time. They may also take over her senses and therefore incapacitate her for a time, though she may still move when in a trance. She thinks her longest time 'out' was probably about three minutes.

Object reading can put an amount of strain on the mind, and something as simple as getting dressed can take a bit of time just to avoid overloading herself with more than two or three sets of memories at once. It's also difficult for her to remember the history of any particular object after about a week.

History reading, depending on the memories, can seriously screw with the reader. Depressed feelings, the pain of breaking limbs, you name it - history reading needs to be done with a lot of caution.

Resilient:

Joel has spent much of his life being the butt of jokes, if not worse. Rather than cave under the harassment, he learned early on how to deal with such "idiots". Generally, he won't even give those sorts the time of day.

Inquisitive:

Intellectual pursuits don't pity you. Yet Joel's thirst of knowledge extends beyond the written word; he's quite good at small talk and drawing out facts about others, if only because he takes the time to ask.

Modest:

Praise falls upon deaf ears. After being commended time and time again for being "inspiring", Joel pretty much tunes out any sort of compliment, flattery or otherwise. It keeps him down-to-earth but also a bit of a workaholic with something to prove (to himself).

Reserved:

Unable to relate to most, Joel avoids talking about himself. He knows a great deal about those who come into consistent contact with him, generally speaking, but he's far less forthcoming about his own thoughts or passions.

History

Joel - who goes by his middle name for obvious reasons - was born with his powers, but didn't realize he was "gifted" until his grandmother caught him climbing up a tree without snapping his neck. Because of the unique and limited scope of his ability, he was able to hide it from his parents. Not that they were around enough to notice. Both of them had government jobs in Baltimore which meant certain things took priority.

As a kid, Joel would avoid using his ability in public mainly because it would amplify all other sources of external stimuli, from sound to touch. The most memorable incident of this was when his grandmother took him to the amusement park for his 13th birthday. Within a matter of minutes, Joel threw a fist at a clown. His grandmother took him to the doctor who went over SILPA with them.

After Joel was properly registered, he was recruited by Aegis for their latest venture, Facility 108.

Thinking that their son was perfectly equipped to handle himself - he brought home good grades, didn't get himself into trouble (to their knowledge) - the Dawsons left Joel in his grandmother's care while they worked. They don't talk much.
Enhanced Thermoception

Although his vision is impaired and Joel feigns helplessness quite well, he's capable of navigating his environments without aid. With the proper concentration, he can detect infrared radiation which all objects, living or otherwise. (Anything above 5 degrees Kelvin emits IR.)
- Perception: Powers or technology that influence or otherwise manipulate sight are ineffective against Joel. After all, he's using his sense of touch to gauge distance.
Limitations

Joel's ability requires that the target be within a 25-meter radius. (Imagine the length of a competitive swimming pool.)
- Priority of focus: Distractions that affect standard human senses excluding sight - such as perceivable conversation (background noise included) or physical shock - impede Joel's ability (and patience). Therefore, if and when he needs to rely on his power, he slips into a meditative state to protect himself. It's rather difficult to get his attention at this point.
- Heat intolerance: Used in harsh conditions (90F and above), Joel's thermoception will lead to severe dehydration and ultimately heat stroke.
- Distance: Without any offensive abilities to call his own, Joel is rather prone considering how close he must be to sense someone in hiding.

Courageous
Danny has a marked history of bravery, putting himself in harm's way to protect others, such as an incident where he protected a toddler from an oncoming car when she'd wandered into the road. The aftermath was marred by the fact he demanded financial recompense from the shocked parents and then launched into a torrent of verbal abuse when they refused to pay him the $500 he demanded.

Independent
Danny has never felt the need to depend on anyone. Since the death of his father, killed in the line of duty, Danny has distanced himself from others and sought to find his own way in the world without the need to be close to anyone.

Headstrong
Danny can be like a bull in a china shop at times. Once he gets an idea or notion in his head, he pursues it doggedly to whatever end results. He's willing to undergo whatever is required to reach his goal, regardless of the hardship he has to endure, almost to the point of self-destruction.

Foolhardy
Danny doesn't seem to understand the concepts of 'too dangerous', 'too tough', 'too strong' or 'too powerful'. He often throws himself into situations with a sense of determination that borders on, and sometimes crosses, the line of insanity. One such occasion was dealing with a gang of bank robbers armed with assault rifles, with near-fatal results on both sides.

History
Danny Travis' early history was always one of fighting. Born as a premature baby, his first months were of his constant battle to breathe another breath, to take another heartbeat. After he was out of that dangerous early stage, he came on well, although his health was always an issue. Danny has Von Willebrand Syndrome, a blood disorder that affects blood clotting, meaning he regularly has bruises (specifically over his joints, but sometimes where he bumps into things) and nosebleeds. He did not, however, let this condition stop him leading his life. He seemed to feel that conflict was the only way he could get stronger and escape the enfeebling condition he lived with. From kindergarten he was noted as often being caught in fights, instigated by himself or others. The fights were most often in response to bullying, either against Danny or others around him. His parents, Michael and Angela, were almost at a loss with how to deal with their youngest son, moving him from school to school to get him away from the bad situations he joyously embroiled himself in.

Danny's eleventh birthday was the turning point, however. The family were waiting for Michael to return from work so they could all go out for Danny's birthday dinner, but the car that parked in the street outside was the precinct captain's squad car, not Michael's old Chevy. Michael had been shot while responding to a gas station robbery and had died at the scene. The captain, on behalf of the major and the commissioner, extended his condolences. A light went out in Danny's head as he stood with his mother and brother, watching his father's coffin being lowered into the ground. Where the light left, a fire ignited and burned through him. His A6G23 gene, thus far dormant, flared into life.

The first documented instance of Danny's powers was at softball practice. Danny had been playing catcher against a batter noted for his aggressiveness. As often happens, words were said between the two in an attempt to psych each other out, but one particularly cutting jibe from Danny set the batter off and the older boy swung his bat at Danny's head. The bat connected with a lot of force, enough to have seriously injured a boy Danny's age. Instead, Danny took the hit without so much as staggering. He responded with a punch that hurled the batter fifteen feet across the infield, broke two of his ribs and dislocated his shoulder. Incidentally, Danny suffered a fractured wrist. Days later, a specialist diagnosed Danny with the A6G23 gene and his name was forwarded to the proper authorities. Since then, Danny has been in trouble on a daily basis. The most recent event had him in juvenile court where he was ordered to have a Limiter locked to his wrist and to attend Training Facility 108. Despite everything, Danny does not like superpowers or the Supers who exhibit them. He holds a special disdain for people who flaunt their abilities and withholds no amount of antipathy or abuse for other Supers. Experts believe this stems back to his father's death. After all, if Supers were so great, why wasn't there one there to save his life?

Energy Absorption
Danny's primary power is the ability to absorb energy directed at him and store it within himself. This can be kinetic energy from physical impacts or energy from other sources, such as electricity, fire, radiation or even sunlight. Usually, the energy he absorbs is dissipated without outward effect, but extreme or prolonged high level absorption allows him to trigger one of his two supporting powers.
- Strength Augmentation: Channelling the absorbed energy into his arms and legs, Danny can augment his physical strength far beyond the bounds of his age and physique. During the events of the bank robbery, video footage recorded him being able to punch a felon hard enough to make the fully grown man strike the ceiling twelve feet above the ground after Danny had been shot.
- Shockwave Dispersion: By channelling stored energy through the ground, Danny is able to create a localised shockwave with the effect of generating an earth tremor. This tremor can cause people in the area affected to be staggered and can cause damage to the ground surface and nearby structures. If generated within a building, the potential is that this power could cause structural damage of a significant level.
Limitations
- Human Physiology: While Danny is able to absorb the energy of an attack, he is not invulnerable to attacks. A knife will still cut (see below) and if a heavy weight was dropped on him, it could still crush him. Additionally, his powers do not protect him from the energy he projects. So, while he could potentially use stored energy to punch through tank armor, it would be highly likely that the punch would also destroy his arm.
- Von Willibrand Syndrome: Danny is affected by Von Willibrand Syndrome, a blood clotting disorder that means he constantly suffers bruising and nosebleeds. A more dangerous effect is that even minor cuts are a huge problem as his body cannot create a scab to close the wound. Therefore, Danny needs to carry a can of fibrin sealant and often needs a blood transfusion or an infusion of Factor VIII.
- External Factors: Danny's superpowers only function if he receives energy from an external source. If no-one hits him with anything, he can't absorb the energy and power his secondary powers. If the hits he takes do not provide sufficient energy, he receives no benefit. Added to that, the dissipation effect of his absorption power is such that he cannot absorb energy and store it for periods longer than a couple of minutes.

History [Trigger Warning for Sexual Assault & Arachnophobia]
She was born to middle-class parents in a very normal household. Her early childhood was unremarkable, as was her primary school experience, but if details must be given it should be noted that Hannah was rather sheltered, very loved, and somewhat spoiled. Her easygoing character is as it is more despite her parents than because of them; they frequently bent to her every whim, except when they feared some sort of harm would come to her. Their fear infected her, and things that many girls her age are branching out into and exploring still make Hannah nervous.

Her parents saw talent in their daughter and were sure to foster it. She was enrolled in many artistic classes, finally settling on sewing and design as a more steady occupation, and she always knew her parents approved of her dreams and would help make them happen. So she attended college and emerged at the tender age of 23 with dual degrees in business and fashion. She has spent the last two years working for much less money than she is accustomed to at a boutique in Baltimore, wondering how to regain some forward momentum.

She has spent the last three and a half weeks adjusting to her new power and looking over her shoulder and crying herself to sleep at night. She made it through puberty without any powers manifesting; it took an event. One singular event to trigger her latent potential.

She'd stepped out of the alley door for a breather, both from the stale air of the bar and from her friends' antics; being the designated driver suited her fine since she had no interest in drinking, but she didn't like the crowd, didn't like dealing with people when their judgement was impaired.

He'd stepped out from the shadows.

With her face pressed against the cold pavement, she could see a spider's eyes glinting red in some dark corner. Even in this situation, it terrified her - she had never been able to keep calm where spiders were involved - but she couldn't tear her gaze away. She watched the spider, and it watched her, glassy eyes unmoving, witness to her tragedy. It helped her make her mind go somewhere else, somehow. When he was done, he zipped up and walked out of the alleyway, whistling nonchalantly. She crawled towards the wall and slumped against it, sobbing, still watching the spider. All she wanted was to be so small that she could disappear.

And then in a way, she was. Her many eyes roved about; she could feel the vibrations of her attacker's footsteps as they moved away. Eight narrow legs extended from her abdomen.

And she could sense them around her in droves; spiders, dozens of them - no, hundreds of them. If she'd been in her human form, she might have run screaming, but in this form, emotions seemed just a little dulled, thoughts just a little simpler. And in this form, she didn't feel so alone.

She had somehow managed to wait it out, to linger in that filthy alley until she turned back into her human form - legs stretching, melding into her sides, eyes receding into her skin, thin stick-like appendages gradually taking on more form. Her clothes had not transformed with her; quickly, she put them back on, careful to hide the tears in them from before.

She had a plan. Nobody would know about this - about any of this. She would walk back into the bar. She would say hello to her friends, pretend her core hadn't been violated, drive them home when they were ready. She would never speak of or use this power again.

(Even then, she could sense the spiders. So many spiders. It made her skin crawl, and she wondered if she'd ever learn to ignore it.)

She made her way in to do just that, but the minute she saw the concern and worry on her friends faces she lost it. Just as she was bursting into tears, the world grew and expanded once again, becoming hazy visions and vibrations. Dancers' feet were stomping near her. Terrified, she climbed up one of her friends' legs, who mercifully was too drunk to fully comprehend.

The rest of the night passed in a blur of form changes, tears, and explanations, culminating in a cup of hot cocoa in her house with her best friend doing her damnedest to sober up while soothing her. When things calmed down - when she finally started to feel like she could go on - the conversation turned to powers.

"Will you notify the Commonwealth?"

"I... I didn't want to, but..."

"But?"

"...I can't control this thing. And it's not going to work out so great if I can't hold a conversation without turning into a s-spider."

"There's AEGIS, right?"

"Yes... There's AEGIS."

Arachnothropy [Trigger Warning for Arachnophobia]
Hannah can assume the form of a spider. By default, she shapeshifts into Araneoidea Nephila - a Golden Silk Orb-Weaver. These spiders are also known as banana spiders for their yellow pigmentation and as giant wood spiders because they're, well, giant. They tend to be bigger than a human hand when including legs.

Golden Silk Orb-Weavers are known for their gold-colored silk thread, which is a feature no other arachnid has. They weave elaborate and beautiful webs, often very large, involving layers of protective webbing and a sticky, spherical shape in the middle where the spider usually rests. They have been known to incorporate designs into their webs that seem to serve no purpose other than aesthetic, and this phenomenon is, in fact, the inspiration for the well-known book Charlotte's Web.

Trivia aside... Hannah can take the form of other types of spiders, but at great effort, and her movements are somewhat impaired if she does so. She can assume her default arachnid form at will with little to no effort, but only seems to be able to maintain the transformation for a half hour at a time. Her clothes do not transform with her. When she takes the form of a spider, she can perform all the acts which that spider normally could, including spin webs and produce and inject venom.

When in spider form, Hannah is more simple-minded, a side-effect of attempting to project human sentience onto such a small neural structure. She will experience emotions at 75% of their usual strength and may struggle with abstract thought or hypotheticals.
- Sense Spiders: Hannah can also sense nearby spiders. In human form, she can sense spiders up to 660 feet away, or an eighth of a mile. In arachnid form, this distance is tripled. It is speculated that different spider species may have different ranges.
- Immunity: For 12 hours following a transformation, Hannah is resistant to the venom of the last form she took. She can still be overwhelmed by large amounts of venom.
Limitations
- Arachnophobia: Considering everything about her abilities has to do with spiders, being absolutely horrified by them isn't very helpful. In particular, Hannah's ability to sense spiders is more of a tortuous distraction than an asset.
- "Thwack!": Spiders are impressive and scary, but when push comes to shove, they're fragile. She could easily be offed by an enemy's rolled up newspaper when she is transformed, or even by a teammate's accidental stumble.
- Under Pressure: When Hannah is experiencing an emotion to an extreme - which isn't frequent but isn't exactly uncommon either given her borderline neurotic tendencies and her recent trauma - she will transform outside of her own will. This can be inconvenient, though sometimes it facilitates her escape from stressful situations.

Compassionate
Gavin is a warm and caring individual. If you can get past his pushy and overly honest mannerisms, you will find he is a loving, emphatic person. Being sympathetic and feeling deep concern for others, he will often go over board on working to assist someone. Just be careful. Once you become a pet project of his, he is not easily deterred. 

Self-Assured
Some might call it an inflated ego but the Dabbs's think of it as confidence. Others might even call it cocky. Whatever it is, Gavin is full of it. He has a wisp of arrogance around him. The important thing is, he is very confident and aware of his strengths. 

Blunt
There is never a question of Gavin's feelings on a matter. Much like others in his family, he is always one to speak his mind. Gavin will not sugar coat it for you either, there is no filter. Gavin's opinions come out raw and loud. 

Presumptuous
Gavin has the best of intentions, but at times comes across as rather pushy. He can seem more like an aggressive salesman, than a trusted friend. If you make a suggestion that does not fit with his vision, he will tell you all the reasons that idea does not work and continue on with his own plan. Gavin makes assumptions about other's desires without ever running it by the party who he is making the decision for. 

History
Gavin's family name is rather well known in certain circles. The reason for this is, Gavin's grandmother. Back in her heyday, she was a major designer for elite Supers of the world.

It was a rather big surprise to everyone, when Dana's daughter did not follow in her footsteps. Instead, Susan became a respectable lawyer. After meeting a nice shop owner, the couple settled down in Baltimore, Michigan.

Living in a respectable area of town, they raised Gavin. He had an average childhood, more or less. With two loving moms, that showered him with praise and reassurance, his personality blossomed. His parents worked hard to shield him from his grandmother's reputation.

While both his moms tolerated Supers, they were not fond of them. Susan held a grudge against Supers, because of the legal messes they often got into. She also carried resentment, on time missed with her own mother because of Dana's career choice. Sara's shop was destroyed, at one point; while two Supers had been saving survivors from a burning building. The shop was later repaired but the sour feelings were never resolved.

On Gavin's twelfth birthday, a large package arrived on their doorstep. It had taken the three of them to lug the it inside. There in the living room, he opened it, to find everything needed to start design clothing. Gavin had always been interested in the subject. When his moms introduced him to drama, he had been more interested in creating the costumes. Both his mother's were against this hobby, fearful he would follow in his Grandmother's footsteps.

They switched him to soccer. While he had been skilled at that, he was more concerned with improving the effectiveness of the shin guards. This had been something both his parents had been dreading. Despite their reservations about Supers, they let Dana mentor her grandson. If he was going to do it, he was going to do it right.

Gavin excelled in his studies. He spent much of his free time designing outfits for anyone that would let him. Now, in his senior year of high school, Gavin is eager to learn more. While he has mastered the basics of clothing design and is already taking some AP classes for college, he feels something is missing. He wants to better understand the needs of Supers. Gavin wants to follow in his Grandmother's footsteps and become a suit designer for the elite Supers of the world!
Dana Augusta Dabbs
Fashion designer for super suits, known world wide. Dana is everything that Gavin wants to be. Since he was 12 they have become best friends. Like two peas in a mod.

Sara Dabbs
Gavin's mother owns a small jewelry shop in down town Baltimore. She is a more reserved quiet woman. Sara and Gavin are very close. She is great at giving him pep talks and Gavin knows he can trust his mom with any secret.

Susan Dabbs
Gavin's mom is a lot more like Dana, than she would ever willingly admit. Loud, in your face and blunt, Susan is incapable of not speaking her mind. Honest and loyal to a fault, Gavin knows his mom always has his back. Being raised by such a strong woman has left him with a clear sense of self.
SKILL: DESCRIPTION

Knowledge of Design: Gavin has a sharp eye for fashion and function. While he, himself does not have any super natural gifts, he is a smart kid. Great at problem solving, he enjoys challenges. Gavin has a passion for dressing those that few can dress. Making them look fabulous, is just as important as, ensuring their clothing does not catch fire. With his extensive knowledge of fabric fabrication processes and technology to enhance it, he is a whiz at suit manufacturing for supers across the world.

NATURAL LEADER: While Gavin is still working to tap fully into this skill set, Gavin is a natural born leader. He has the ability to inspire others. Cultivate connections with others and over all draw out their inner Super. Bring them up and direct them toward a common goal.

Trial and Error: While Gavin might get the measurements right on the first try, the suit not so much. Honing in on right material combination for the right individual can take a few goes. Not to mention, working to create the correct components, has more then once, caused him to blow something up. 

NO CAPES: Gavin, like his grandmother, knows what he wants. At times this can leave the person requesting the suit with very little input on the project. In the end, people are normally impressed, so they put up with it. Still, he is not your man for specific orders.

PTSD: After the bombing at the Mall, Gavin has been different. Struggling with night terrors and panic attacks, he has been prescribed meds to combat the symptoms.

She doesn’t admit it, either out of some strange form of humility, or really doesn’t give a shit about it, but she genuinely tries her darndest to lend others a helping hand without complaint. She’s the kind that helps old ladies across roads and then walks away without even bothering to receive any thanks.

Non-Existent
Jamie has a tendency to fade to the background and almost reality-warping ability to just blend in with unimportant, faceless NPC crowds just by walking amongst them. You’d think a stark white hood would stand out more, but in today’s society… She keeps her head bowed when not talking to others, and prefers not to draw attention to herself. It’s better off this way.

Resourceful
There are a thousand ways to skin a cat. Jamie is aware of this, and puts it to good use. Her power may be a simple one to decipher, but her many applications with it number about the same amount as the ways to skin a cat.

Social Anxiety
Jamie has a phobia of being in a spotlight, and has been seen to break down under sheer peer pressure on several occasions, ranging from simple things such as being called up to class to answer a question to mildly serious cases such as given a major role in a presentation in front of a crowd. She just doesn’t do well in front of people. This is a major reason why she prefers to keep her hood up and her head down.

History
Jamie lived a normal life with a normal family. Her social anxiety has actually gotten better over the years, having developed agoraphobia around the age of 8 after a rather vicious bullying incident. Kids are cruel. It took her about 9 years to start coming out of her shell and to be able to hold a solid conversation with others. She still tries not to, however, and absolutely hates being placed in the limelight. Indeed, she performs better behind the scenes.

Discounting her fear of social interaction, she is a regular student with almost always good grades (though not top), and maintains a certain standard. No one expects any less of her, but no one expects more from her as well. She does well, and her family is happy she does.

Her powers manifested late, when she was 17, where she was, predictably, called out by a substitute teacher, ignorant to the repeated warnings that Jamie wasn’t exactly right in the head when it came to social stuff, to present her answers in class. The resulting stress and absolute fear she experienced at that moment tapped into her powers, allowing her to literally vanish from the front of the class, and reappear at the back, whereupon she ran out of the class, apparently unaware of what she had just done.

The reactions from her family were of dull surprise. Her sister didn’t much care for it, being busy preparing for her wedding instead, her brother was more thrilled than actually surprised, querying if he too had an unawakened ability, and her parents were...kind of okay with it. After much deliberation (it took a year), and much lecturing on how this shouldn’t affect her grades, they finally made her enroll into AEGIS as a student, just for a blue card.

23 y/o. Older brother, second child of three. Teases and loves Jamie as an older brother should. Jamie eats his chocolate pudding from time to time as revenge, and loses to him in games on purpose to entertain him, as a younger sister should. It’s a vicious cycle of love and hate.
Teleportation
Jamie is able to teleport short distances, as long as it is within her line of vision. She can spam this as much as she wants because it’s just that low energy cost.

Limitations
- 400 Metres: Is her range limit.
- 7000 lbs: Is her luggage weight limit.
- No Momentum Carried Over: Makes punching people effectively while teleporting very hard.
- Direct Contact: Is needed when teleporting something or someone with her. She’s comparable to a walking, talking (albeit not much) Portkey, if you’re into Harry Potter.
World’s Expert At Fucking Off: Jamie is rather apt at disappearing into crowds of people and just plain vanishing from a scene when she wants to. Alleyways, blind corners, small gaps, she thrives around them. Despite her reclusive lifestyle, she is quite the runner, and if she wants to make herself scarce, she can, with some ease, even without her power.

Distance Calculator: She is pretty good at guessing distances by a glance. It’s just natural, there’s no trick to it. She does occasionally deploy the thumbnail trick, though.

First-Aid Proficient: A course she signed up for. She knows how to apply CPR, use an AED, apply bandages and stilts, and has a passing knowledge on pressure points to minimise blood loss. She is not certified EMT personnel, however, so she won’t be saving lives any time soon.

Michael is a well spoken, outwardly charismatic person. He can easily interact with others, and doesn't have a hard time getting them to see his side of things. His charisma makes him very persuasive, and also tends to draw in the ladies, though they are quickly scared off by his sister.

Michael is very confident, and honestly probably has a right to be. He is an attractive, well spoken, educated, powerful young man. This confidence is actually part of what makes him so appealing to others, though by the same token, he can also seem incredibly cocky.

He's very quick to understand and respond with sharp, concise answers. This can be good for understanding someone and responding how they want, or making quick, sharp remarks to spite someone.

Cruel
Underneath the charismatic, kind facade is Michael's actual personality, and it is cruel, and corrupt, and bitter. He'll never reveal it early, he'll wait until he has his claws in you, until you trust him implicitly and want to do everything he says, and then he'll show you his true self. He is mentally unstable in the most intelligent and dangerous kind of way, and he will toss you aside like a used rag when he is finished with you.

History
Michael spent his early years in Italy with his twin sister Gabriele. They were raised by a single parent, their father, until he was murdered in cold blood for his Mafia connections. They were orphaned, and sent to America to live with their only living relatives, their father's second cousin and his wife. They were humans who were incredibly anti-super, and when they found that the twins had the super gene, they treated the two horribly, verging on abuse. After a couple of years, however, the family "disappeared" leaving the twins to move between foster homes.

Over the years mysterious disappearances continued, and after a few years the twins were arrested for inciting a riot which resulted in the injury of some normal humans(normies). They were sentenced to two years and some rehabilitation therapy, and now they are attending Facility 108 in addition to any outside schooling.
Gabriele D'Avolo
Michael's twin sister, and the only person he truly trusts. She is his partner in crime, his only friend, and the only person as cruel as him.
Telekinesis
Using his mind, Michael can create force that can be used for a variety of uses, including but not limited to; moving shit, adding force to punches, kicks, and projectiles, flight, protective force fields, etc... There are obviously weight limits, distance limits, etc.

Limitations
- Weakness 1: There is a weight limit. Just like lifting weights, there is a maximum, but also just like lifting weights, the more you do it, the stronger you get, and the higher the maximum weight gets. There is definitely a cap, even if you continue to exercise it. Right now, his max weight is about that of a CUV. However, that's a struggle, and he can't do that for more than a few seconds.
- Weakness 2: He can only use his telekinesis on things within line of sight. The further away something is, the harder it is to affect. Additionally, living things often struggle, so it's hard to do it on them as well.
- Weakness 3: Using it too much can lead to migraines and nosebleeds. However, just like exercise, the more he does it, the longer he can go without getting a headache or a nosebleed. Although, some materials seem to trigger nose bleeds more often. Especially organic matter, like people and plants.
A list of non-superpower (mundane) skills and flaws that your character has. Mundane skills include knowledge such as first-aid training, cooking, paleontology, etc. Mundane flaws include physical disabilities, or expanded information on negative personality traits such as gullibility, clumsiness, vanity, etc.

Keep in mind that your character's superpowers might affect some of their normal skills, for example, we all expect hyper-intelligent supers to have more knowledge-related skills in this list than the average character. However, these skills and flaws should all be things that your character could lose their powers, and still retain.

Affable
Easy going and fun to talk to is the first impression most people take away from meeting Lars. He is inveterate storyteller, as well as a gifted showman with a natural sense of how to entertain and amuse. He has a flair for the theatrical especially comedy. He tends to become especially voluble when he has had a few drinks, but rarely imbibes as his powers require concentration to work properly. Some of his 'powers' revolve around more... exotic chemicals. 

Inventive
Lars has a penchant for finding new uses for existing technology, whether it is holography, computers, drugs or limiters. It's almost as if he has some kind of innate knowledge of how to twist anything hand to his own aims. He mostly uses this for creating ever more elaborate illusions as well as pranks. Often both at the same time. 

Mischievous
Lars absolutely loves a good prank, and will go pretty far out of his way to set one up. He is a big fan of the long con, and has been known to play out his prank scenarios over weeks or even months. While rarely lethal to their targets, they invariably cause much consternation. Also, lethality is not unheard of.

Unhinged
During middle school, Lars had a break with reality. Like many overly bright youngsters, he did not get along well with others, and when his one close friend was killed in a freak accident, he lost his mind. He could not cope with the idea that what happened to him might not matter in any larger sense than his own personal feelings about it. He decided that he was going to have to become the focus of the story. History. He reinvented himself, becoming everybody's best friend. The cool kid. The class clown. The entertainer. The class president. The heart-throb. By the time he was in high school, he realized that he was too big a fish and rural Minnesota was too small a pond. He started making his plans over twenty years ago. And they are nearly ready. Even the gods will see him now. They will see him, and they will tremble. 

History
Lars was 12 when he decided to chart a new course in life. He wants to meet the author. Or authors. Of everything. But especially him. Ultimately, it is all about him. He has re-created his entire being from the ground up, several times over, in pursuit of this goal. First he made a name for himself as stage magician under the name of “The Amazing Magnus” After a couple of years on the circuit, he got bored of that and decided to become an independent investigator and paranormal hero. “Codename: Magnus” had some successes, and even earned a blue card in spite of having no actual powers. (Or so he believes; according to official commonwealth records, he is a C rank reality manipulator. His trickery convinced the techs that he could bend space and read minds. Unbeknownst to Lars, he does actually move the needle for enigma particle measurements, and he does carry an active copy of the A6G23 gene.)

After he was implicated in several murders by Katheryn Barrett, he abandoned the vigilante game and switched to 3D entertainment under a false identity. He made a small fortune selling virtual reality tech under the brand name NeoMatrix technologies. He sold the company to Fenrir robotics in 2033 for 2.7 billion dollars, and retired at the age of twenty nine, disappearing again from public life.

He recently resurfaced in Baltimore. For the last seven years, he has been analyzing world wide data about A6G23 related events. There are several anomalous patterns, and they all point to one inescapable fact: Baltimore is the focus of the story. This universe revolves around... Baltimore. What are the odds of that? If he is ever going to meet the storytellers, the groundwork of his story needs to be laid there. He has been quietly setting his plans into motion here for the last four years. The overture is over, and the curtain is about to rise... Baltimore may never be the same.
Tiberius Bartholomew Davidson & Terri-Beth Andrews
Local Vaudevillians. Probably the only humans on the planet that Lars truly cares for more than he does himself. They are an old and happily married couple of humbugs, who are as charming a pair of pickpockets and con artists as you could ever hope to meet. They introduced him to old school theatrical story telling techniques, which triggered the first fundamental change to his plans since he began them. They are also the first (and only) people he has ever confided to about his theories about reality. They were unconvinced, but it doesn't seem any crazier than any other religious experience they've ever heard of, so they let it slide. Time will tell what the cost of that indulgence might be; the story he plans to tell will likely involve tremendous suffering for many.

Skuld Blanco
Minnesota twin cities retired police captain. Lars's second cousin once removed, the daughter of his great aunt Hilda. She was the one who gave Lars his first real shot at crime fighting, and while she frequently claims it was his antics that nearly drove her to take early retirement, she will also grudgingly admit that he was very effective at clearing unsolved cases. She is a relatively rare merging of Latin and Norwegian culture, making her a dangerous person to cross. She has her father's quick temper, and her mother's capacity to carry a grudge. That she will still take Lars's calls is a real testament to his charms.

Katheryn Barrett
A charmingly nutty hero of the twin cities who is almost as crazy as he is, Lars finds her a useful contact in the news media, as long as he does not approach her directly. (She kind of considers him her nemesis...) He has never known anyone more susceptible to hypnosis in his life, which made her doubly useful to him during his 'adventuring' days. He thought he had left all that behind more than a decade ago, but now she has moved to Baltimore, and he is not sure what that portends. He'd always assumed she was a bit player, Twin Cities background scenery, or supporting cast for Aaron Mallory, at best. But now she is here. The writers are trying to tell him something, he's sure of it...

All the dedicated little people without whose support this show would not have been possible
A seemingly limitless string of friends, former lovers, and dupes, none of whom seem to ever mind being used as pawns in Lars's endless games. Well, his parents mind a little. His mom in particular hates when he refers to her as an 'extra.' His dad thinks it is all a big joke, but then, he thinks puns are funny. He loves all of his supporting cast members, in his own way, but ultimately he is the star of the show, and sometimes extras just have to be written out.
A glimpse beyond: Things Fictional Characters Are Not Meant To Know
Lars seems to know things. Things he couldn't possibly know. He does things people can't possibly do. Not normal people anyway. It is hard to know what is mere trickery, what is lucky guesswork, and what is truly spooky knowledge of the multiverse. Lars isn't even sure he knows the difference himself.
- Fourth wall winks: Not particularly useful or practical, but creepy to readers.
- Weirdness magnet: Heroes and Villains in a comic book universe come to expect a certain amount of day to day weirdness as par for the course. At a certain point though, it strains credulity. One coincidence too many can drive a man mad. Lars hit that point ages ago.
Limitations
- Not even sure if it is real: Lars may be crazy, but he is far from stupid. His 'power' doesn't actually allow him to do anything. All he knows is that his hunches seem to work out, and he is pretty sure it is everyone else that is crazy.
- Slave to the story: Even if it is not practical, Lars is subject to tropes of the genre. Sometimes this forces him to act against his own interests, or do things that seem... wrong. He's genuinely not sure if he is a puppet, or just crazy. But if he finds strings, woe betide the one pulling the other end of them.
- Fragile mind : Lars' delusions (if they are delusions) have kept him from the brink of true existential despair for his whole life. Drawing him into conversation about his beliefs, while dangerous, could push him into a catatonic state, or eventually, with proper care, make him whole again.
Skills
- Sleight of hand: This is his primary source of 'power,' and when people think you are actually magical they don't think to look for it.
- Disguise: Ever since his apartment was burned down with him nearly in it back in the mid thirties, Lars has become quite paranoid and rarely goes out in public without a disguise. All his safe houses and bolt holes are well equipped with elaborate make up stations. When he goes out to specifically stir up trouble he chooses neighbors to imitate and then monitors them for weeks afterward to determine if he stirred up real trouble or not.
- Misdirection: If slight of hand is his go to technique, misdirection is the way he lives his life. At some level, virtually everything he does is aimed at directing attention away from his true intentions.
- Lockpicking: This is his second favorite technique after slight of hand. The technicians who tested him were convinced of his ability to teleport when he escaped from a locked room and called from a payphone down the street. The fact that he did this on camera involved some additional technological jiggery pokery, but speedy lockpicking and good old fashioned stealth were the primary skills.
- Stealth: A classic versatile skill that no good thief should be without. Most people think it involves ninja like mystical powers of silent movement. Most ninja will tell you: it is all about the misdirect. Get the enemy to think they know where you are and look there. Be somewhere else.
- Pickpocketing: One of Lars's all time favorite tricks involved secondary testing. The technicians locked him in an exam room with high tech locks and state of the art 'psychoportation limiting fields' They were so confident of their high tech toys, they neglected to notice he had stolen one of their key cards when he arrived at the building. He escaped before they had even got back to their monitors and slipped it back into the tech's pocket as they were sitting down, then hovered behind them until they noticed him. He still gets the giggles over that to this day.
- Bribery: It is a delicate thing to know when to attempt this and when it will just make things worse, but plausible deniability will probably get you out of trouble even when it fails...
- Forgery: Disguises will only get you so far. At a certain point you need ID. Owning a dozen different houses under a dozen different identities makes for quite a bit of practice. It also gives you resources to make ever more elaborate forgeries. Lars has gone so far as to create an entire identity complete with a 9 to 5 entry level job in order to gain access to a university building. It is a point of pride that he worked the job long enough to get his first paycheck without ever once showing up to work. He didn't even cash the check, though he does have it framed somewhere. That identity, “Phil Connors” along with its employment history, is one of his favorite 'good luck charms' for deep cover projects.
- Cold Reading: Lars has a keen sense of body language and other 'tells' but the core of the technique is to start vague and throw out dozens of details and then zero in on the ones that get a reaction. The more gullible the mark, the more 'Amazing!' his predictions become. Not being recorded doing it is also key. Allowing time for the mark's memories to exaggerate the event amps the amazing factor amazingly. For skeptics, who might be familiar with cold reading, the key is to do research ahead of time and do a hot read. Nothing is better for the reputation than impressing a skeptic, because that smarmy know it all will tell all his friends.
- Perceptual theory: The root of almost all stage magic is the ability to get the audience to watch the wrong hand. The best magicians have a deep understanding of how the mammalian brain processes perceptual data and how attention shifts, skipping ahead to the next thing in a predictive way, regardless of whether the prediction is legit.
- Hypnosis: While most stage hypnotism is utter bullshit, there are some people who are very susceptible to suggestion. Most 'fantasy prone' personality types have certain tells that Lars has learned to spot. It is amazing what people will play along with if you find the right buttons to push.
- Independently wealthy: While a few billion dollars in the bank might not be wealthy by the standards of modern American oligarchs, that plus a dozen or so houses spread across the city purchased under assumed names, as well as a few fully equipped holography labs is plenty enough for Lars's plans for now.
Flaws
- Dramatic: If caught between what is pragmatic and what makes a good story, Lars will always choose the story. This will get him caught. Eventually.
- Cheerfully Ruthless to NPCs: It's not like they're real! Why do you get upset over a few cosmetic changes to the number of bit players in the world? Taking an arrow to the knee doesn't make you interesting, it makes you annoying! Be interesting and live, or die entertainingly to flavor the story.
Holograms: Tool Holography can make incredible illusions given time to prepare. 

Laptop: Tool WiFi surveillance and creative web searches can easily find out things “you couldn't possibly know” which is handy for turning a cold read into a hot one.

Hallucinogenic Drugs: Weapon Lars uses this sparingly since the eggnog incident, but for really perceptive or persistent heroes, sometimes illusions just don't cut it.

Power Suppressant Gas: Weapon Officially, this is a weapon that does not exist. Mrs. Brahn is a simple baker and never whipped up any such cocktail. They were never officially stolen from the commonwealth armory by the Knights of Raguel, and anyway even if they had been, as far as the knights know, all of their stolen gas grenades are safely squirreled away for battle against the demons and have not been replaced with ordinary tear gas at all. Nope. Everything's right where everybody remembers leaving it. You bet.

Specialty magicians equipment: Tools It's amazing what you can do with a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

Blue scaly skin, flattened nose, nictitating membrane over eyes, gill slits below ears, webbed digits, needle like teeth, brow ridge and other fins. When angered or desperate, especially in aquatic environments she increases about 30 percent in height and more than doubles in muscle mass.
Excitable 
Everything is new to Manami. Chronologically she is in her early 20s but experientially and mentally she behaves more like a seven year old. Her sense of wonder about the world is untouched by darkness or cynicism. She is utterly innocent and overjoyed by the tiniest details.

Disciplined
Her tendency to subsume her aims for others would almost be crippling except for her single mindedness of purpose once she has set about to complete a task. If you could get her distracted, you could probably redirect her to a different task just by asking, but distracting her once she is engaged is no mean feat.

Patient
While in 'docile' mode, Manami has almost limitless patience. She will put up with almost anything, apart from a physical threat to herself or to Kyo or Makoto.

Excitable 
Coming from a country famous for its single edged swords, it is somewhat ironic that Manami's best quality can also be her worst. She has a tendency to go off half cocked, leap twice before looking once, cut twice and measure not at all. Her sunny disposition is not appreciated by everyone, and can become very annoying or even dangerous when cool clear thinking is required

History
Manami was born about twenty years ago, presumably in or near Japan. She was discovered floating in the open sea off the southern coast of Kyushu by a husband and wife on their fishing vessel. They informally adopted her, and together the three of them have fished their way across two oceans. Her past is largely unknown, even to herself. Sometimes she has flashbacks, but refuses to talk about them. She is an atypical C rank super, in that her powers are virtually undetectable (apart from the obvious physiological differences) unless she is submersed in water, or very recently emerged from it. Only in the ocean can she reach her full potential. She is more graceful, strong, and clear minded when she is not expending so much effort fighting for each breath. Tragically, when she returns to her natural element, she feels more keenly than ever how alone she is, and wants nothing more than to get back to the surface world where she has a family, and can at least dream of having friends.

After almost three years, her adoptive parents have reached an impasse; they have taught their daughter all they can, and they are very proud of her progress. Last month though, they docked in Baltimore, and the terrorist attacks made them realize that there are things a super needs to know in the world as it stands that they don't know how to teach her. On the morning of January 24th, they showed up on the doorstep of 108 looking to further their daughter's education.
Kyo and Makoto Hamasaki
Manami's adoptive parents. They live with her on their 30 foot fishing boat, and have been moving from place to place for six years. Raising Manami has been, like raising any child, both terrifying and rewarding. The scale and character of the challenges however, were unique. She was a bit of a blank slate when they first encountered her. At first, she was prone to violent outbursts, but that was quickly moderated by her strong desire to please. She seemed to be so starved for kindness that they could hardly help but give her all they had. She soaked up their love and tried her very best to become the child they had waited too long to have. Makoto taught her to fish, and to make top notch sushi. Kyo taught her martial arts, specializing in the naginata, which gave her a much needed focus and outlet for her occasional violent urges. They are her world. Up until recently, she was halfway convinced they were the whole of the world, and she is a little alarmed to realize just how many people there are in this new place.

Kendrick Haywood
"Kendi-Kun" was Manami's first real friend, not just at 108, but in the world. She still cares deeply for him, but sees him a little differently since the day of the Jailbreak, where he showed that he can be mean sometimes, even with little to no cause.

Sensei Mallory
Mr. Mallory looks funny, but he is kind. On her first day, she misunderstood and thought Mr. McNabb was named Mr. Mallory, but her confusion was soon fixed by Kendrick.

Sensei Ward
Mr. Ward is even funnier than Mr. Mallory. He may seem gruff but Manami has taken combat training before, and she knows the difference between martial discipline and mean.

Sempai Vicky
Sempai has laser eyes, but she doesn't want to use them. Manami sometimes wishes she were normal too, so she thinks she understands, but she can't be sure. Sempai Vicky doesn't seem to want to talk about it.

JJ
Jay-Jay seems a little shy at first, but Manami has been on two adventures with him now, and maybe he is not shy at all.

Green Hair Girl(Bianca Atillo)
Green hair girl seemed mean, but then Kendrick was even MORE mean. Manami wishes everybody would be more nice.

Sensei McNabb
Of all the teachers, Mr. McNabb has the most fun classes. He smells like fish and he makes funny jokes to make Manami laugh. She is also very concerned with learning about emotional composure because she hopes it will keep the Oni securely locked inside her forever.

Sensei Van Can
At first she seemed very strict, but she is actually the most understanding teacher at the school. She has long talks after class with Manami which she enjoys so much she sometimes is late for supper.

Sports Bra Girl (Julie)
She fell out of the sky one day and squashed Kendrick, but Manami wasn't watching and only heard about it later, which is probably good for both of them.
Codename: Stingray
Manami can breathe underwater and swim faster than all but the fastest torpedo. She has eight inch retractable stingers hidden in the fleshy part of her forearms. They have barbed ends and razor sharp edges. She also has enormous strength potential, but can't tap it fully while on dry land.
- Attack mode: When angered or threatened, Manami has flashbacks of some kind, which can sometimes cause a dramatic physical response. Her body increases in size, more than doubling in muscle mass. Her normal stingers extend outward on twelve foot long muscular whips. Her strength increases to well beyond normal human capabilities, though breathing air curtails her power severely. These episodes can last for as little as a few minutes, or up to several hours depending on stress levels during the incident.
- Deep ocean life support: Manami is virtually immune to cold as well as changes in pressure, and has low light vision and EM sensitivity (but only in salt water)
Limitations
- Animal Savage fury: When she shifts into attack mode, Manami's intelligence and will are both reduced to subhuman levels, and she acts on pure instinct.
- Limiter chip kicks in hard: When reverting to docile mode after an incident, the shock knocks her unconscious for anything from 2 minutes up to 24 hours depending on how long she was in her savage state, and how much effort she made. Regardless of those factors, she is always ravenously hungry when she wakes up.
- Worst of both worlds: She gets sick if she does not spend at least an hour exercising in the water each day; eventually she would dry out and die. Contrariwise, the longer she spends in the water, the less connection she feels to her life above the waves. She is terrified that if she spends more than a whole day in the water that she will lose her humanity altogether and become the monster inside her forever.
- Monstrous appearance: Even when her inner demons are under control, by normal human standards, she looks like a monster on the outside. For a young woman trying to find her place in human society, this is more than slightly problematic.
- Gills work better than lungs: While she is unusually strong for a young woman of her height and weight, breathing air is not good for Manami. Eventually, if she doesn't get breaks from it, it would kill her. As it is, she gets clumsy and struggles to think clearly after barely a minute of struggling for breath. Her muscles are also severely limited in potential when she can't get enough oxygen.
Skills
- Martial Arts: Traditional women's style, specializing in Naginata and Jiu Jitsu tricks.
- Hunting: Deep sea fishing is a very different skill for Manami than what her foster parents practice. Nevertheless, she is extraordinarily skilled at it.
- Cooking: Sushi is a speciality, but hardly the only thing in her repetoire.
- Limited English: Getting better everyday
- Stealthy swimming: She can also be pretty quiet on land, but is especially stealthy in the water.
Flaws
- Boisterous: Manami gets excited about the least little thing. The only force on earth more powerful than her shyness is her enthusiasm for life. Does that not sound like a flaw to you? You obviously have not spent enough time around her yet. In addition to being overly cute, her naivete can result in her getting enthusiastic about some very bad ideas.
- Slow witted: She does better in the water, but most of her friends are land dwellers. She tries to keep up, but gets easily confused. Partly the language barrier, but mostly the hypoxia.
- Suggestible: It is not obvious to those who don't know her well, but Manami shows clear signs of powerful mental conditioning. Given the right sort of 'suggestion' she can be made to go along with almost anything, especially if suggested by someone she sees as an authority figure. Unless specifically forbidden by a greater authority in her mental hierarchy, she will do almost anything anyone asks of her. The highest authority of all is her parents, with teachers only a few steps below them.

Dynamic
Nike is a vibrant ball of energy, painted a myriad of colors by enthusiasm and tempered by sheer determination. When she sets her mind on doing a task, she throws her all into it and won't come out of a situation empty handed. She's always on the look out for something new to build, an activity to try out, a place to explore, a challenge to accept and people to drag into her mischief.

Carefree
As much as Nike wants to gogogo, she has a very free flowing way of going about things. She believes very much in "things will happen when the time is right", and is rather patient when it comes to handling people. Nike's understanding of another's situation, forgiving of actions against her, seeks to understand both sides of a controversy, and is quick to roll setbacks off her shoulder and look forward to the next thing. She takes things one day at a time.

Fair
Nike overall is a very good-natured individual, even when she's got Troll Mode on and in high gear. She helps out where she can, is all about dat teamwork and believes folks should be held accountable for their actions -- including her. In a fight she never strikes a person who's unarmed or has been knocked down, and is very adamant on things being on a 1v1 basis. Good guys ganging up on someone just ain't cool, yo. She also works strictly on a no kill basis, and will even defend a criminal from others if she feels they're not being given a fair chance.

Aimless
Despite the many things she involves herself with, the subjects she knows about and the declarations that she's made, Nike really doesn't have a final picture in her mind for what she wants to be. Most of what she's done has been something that looked interesting at the time, but it's uncommon for anything to lead into something bigger.

History
Nike was born... Well, actually, Nike's not all too certain about her birth. The stories she's heard from her father and his side of the family vary from things such as 'your parents met during speed dating' to 'aliens beamed you down from their mothership'. What Nike does know is that she's been raised by her single father since the beginning, and that never once has she seen or heard anything about her mother. The two lived in a three story townhouse on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. There they lived a simple existence at about middle class level; her father going to work five days a week and Nike spending lots of time being babysat by her grandparents. There she helped out her grandma with her large garden and soaked up all of the culture of her homeland of Japan. As her powers began to show themselves, her grandma attributed it to the "strong Nakajima spirit" she carried, and using her understanding of spiritualism, helped Nike to gain her first grasp on manifesting her weapon. Before she could learn much more beyond basic controls, her grandma became ill and passed away during Nike's middle school years.

After that point in her life Nike kind of let her development of her spiritual abilities fall to the wayside. Between her own depression and her father turning to alcoholism to dull the pain, it just didn't seem as important. The addition of her limiter didn't help with her situation either. Just going through a day was a struggle enough. It wasn't until about halfway through high school that she met a group of friends; otakus if you will. Though it was mostly through popular animes, yaoi and horrible fanfiction interactions with them rekindled her love of her heritage, and in turn her desire to build what she had inherited from it. She took back up the weapon she had cast away and began honing it once more. Her performance at the local Aegis facility saw drastic improvements in the girl, and directly after graduation, she made a beeline for anything she needed to grab up her Blue Card.

From there Nike's contributions to the world can be found over the past six years on just about any web media site one can get their hands on. On the West Coast she helped to stylize the role of a Blue Card Vigilante, hailing back to the Masked Hero ages and forming her hero persona of Overlord. Not only was she active on the law enforcement front, but also frequently posted on numerous sites about said activities - as much as she was legally allowed to. She's even made appearances at gaming shops to show her support of e-games, tabletops and card games, and has been in a good dozen or so commercials here and there. Most of all she has shown her support for the Aegis program, leading her to her current teaching position at the newest addition to the number of facilities: Facility 108.
Don Deschain
Nike's father. She hasn't had much interaction with him since she moved out, but she gives him a call from time to time.

Conner Boothe
Nike's agent who took one hell of a gamble on backing her, and he's not exactly convinced it was worth it just yet. She gets calls from him all the time.

Ruby "RWBY" Corrigan
Nike's friend and the designer of the outfit she first wore when fighting crime. She's somewhat big on the cosplaying scene.
Strong Soul
An ability that has brought up some controversy from the name alone. At her core, Nike generates neutral energy at an increased pace to fill a very large pool, which she can tap into, then convert and manipulate to perform various tasks far beyond that capable of a normal human. She can control all aspects/properties of her energy once converted, which means she can do things from creating energy shields, to throwing/shooting energy projectiles, to wall running up skyscrapers. It grants Nike a vastly wide array of utility that can carry her through many a scenario -- as long as she keeps her head on straight.
- Soul Weapon: Nike was told by her grandma that every soul manifests in a different way. While Nike's not so sure about anyone else having powers quite like hers, she knows that in her case, her soul took on the form of a super badass bokken. Her bokken cannot be destroyed completely, and it will always return to her if lost or tossed away in battle.
- Spirit Eyes: Nike is capable of seeing invisible and incorporeal beings via the energy they use. Everyone that she has seen has turned out to be a super of some sort so far, but Nike's holding out for the day she sees an actual ghost.
Limitations
- Balance: A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body. If Nike doesn't keep herself healthy both physically and mentally it can and will have an effect on her power. For instance, if Nike begins to tire in fight because she stayed up all night playing the newest BlazBlue game, the imbalance could be enough to keep her from manifesting her weapon properly, or even keep her from accessing any of the other tiers.
- Mind Blown: While Nike's Soul Weapon can't be destroyed as long as she lives, with enough effort and under certain conditions, it can break. When this happens Nike's body goes into shock from the trauma of watching her damn spirit break in front of her, rendering her immobile and vulnerable until given enough time to collect herself.
- Point of Origin: Though Nike can do cool things like make barriers, make platforms appear out of thin air and make her bokken an actual blade of energy that's, like, thirty feet long™, all continuous manifestations have to start from her. She can't just point to a place ten feet in the air and make something appear there. Now if she were ten feet up in the air and she wanted a platform literally right under her feet, then that'd totes work. This also means that all her projectiles will start from her position.
- Patches: Nike's power can't heal wound either. At best she can make some temporary wrappings for a wound or even hold off bleeding, but it'll take actual factual medical attention to do anything but smack a Band-Aid on it.
- #Triggered: Nike has placed seals on portions of her energy pool, effectively breaking it down into three tiers. The first tier is small enough for her to summon her signature weapon and maintain it without much effort. The second tier requires a key phrase, to which Nike curses her choice for said key phrase to this day, as it's ruined a song for her "for the rest of forever". Her third tier demands complete commitment, and as such she has placed a two part requirement in order to tap into it; a pact of sorts. Through a short ceremony with a willing individual, Nike will offer her sword to them, and the individual will give her a task to complete in their name. Once Nike offers her sword she cannot refuse what is asked of her, even if she doesn't agree with it, and as such tries to keep from asking random strangers unless completely necessary.
- Going HAM: Despite the years she's had to work it out, Nike still hasn't grasped completely the ability to use her energy efficiently once she has access to it all. She just burns through it at 100% output. While this allows her to perform grand feats of spiritual prowess far greater than what she could even in her second tier, the sheer pressure of the flow wrecks her body from the moment she taps it to the moment it ends, and she can't just shut it off halfway through. It's all or nothing once she reaches this stage. Once she's spent all her energy, Nike will fall into a comatose state until her spiritual energy replenishes itself in full; a process that can take upwards of a week.

The most notable feature of mention here is that, to put it simply, she has tentacles for arms. Yes, that is what I said. From each of her shoulders extends four long octopus-like tentacles just over six feet in length and a deep purplish-black in color. Given their cumbersome and disturbing nature, she does not normally flail them about in public, but instead tries to keep them "braided" together to the closest semblance of human arms that she can acquire.
Genuine
Oppie is who Oppie is, and what you see is what you get. She is comfortable in who she is and is honest to herself. While this may not always apply to intentions, she is a fairly straight forward kind of person. She doesn't mind exploring new things and doesn't try to hide such things behind false pretenses.

Curious
Oppie can certainly be curious little bugger. Though not the gossiping type, she likes hearing secrets and learning about others. She loves new experiences and is always willing to try something new. Yeah, it can bite her in the end. But until she finds out that nagging feeling will plague her until she is lucky enough to forget about it.

Breezy
While not a fully carefree individual, on the whole she is fairly relaxed and casual. She isn't often stressed and has so far been pretty good at shrugging off insults and bullying relatively quickly. As well she is pretty good at handling criticism and even mean spirited advice.

Disconcerting
As if her general esthetic wasn't off putting enough, Ophelia doesn't exactly help it along very much. She has a tendency to fall into weird mannerisms, play with her tentacles, touch things, and forget that there is a filter between her brain and mouth. Worse perhaps is that she is a sneaky and quiet individual, and can sometimes come off as a bit of a creeper.

History
Ophelia was one of the rare cases where her super gene became active in the womb. Given to up for adoption shortly after her birth, she was sent to an orphanage. Formerly the Bellview Orphanage, the Cinnamon Ridge Home for Special Children was a government funded home that specialized in similar cases of beastly mutations. It wasn't the fanciest of places, but it wasn't a terrible place to grow up. The kids were provided for, it kept the creepy ones out of public schools, and it gave the politicians something to brag about when it came to trying to get the super rights advocates to vote for them.

Ophelia has lived her life here, and like the other children, has been home schooled within the facility, save for the common excursions and collaborations with the public schools. Though when she did turn thirteen, she did have to go to the public system. Being the kind of super that she was, she wasn't exactly met with the warmest of receptions. Bullying and teasing were pretty frequent, as we're those who avoided. Though to be fair, it happened outside of school too, she didn't exactly live in the most tolerant of neighborhoods. After one particular incident walking home from school one day, a thrown rock to the head put her in the hospital. It wasn't a terrible a wound, but she was driven to and from school after that.

Ophelia didn't really really look forward to going to school, and learned to keep to herself and not stand out, but also at the age of thirteen she started going to Facility 108. And this where she looked forward to going, being with other supers and not having to worry about unpleasant normies.
Adrian "Mr. Hipster" Moose: He is one of the more popular aid workers at the orphanage, and perhaps the caretaker she is fond of most. He is in his late twenties and has been working there for years. Adrian is a nice and empathetic man, and quite happy. He is stern when he needs to be and does well in taking care of the children. He is the one who takes her to school and acts as parental guardian when needed for official business.

Minato Saotome: A very lovely girl that Oppie calls girlfriend. Oppie is open and energetic around her, and is genuinely joyed about having someone she can be close to. Not having many (if any) friends, it makes Minah extra special to her. Being in a relationship like this is new to her, and she is excited by these new feelings. And a little confused sometimes. In a good way.
Hyperdactentillium
Ophelia is afflicted with quite the eldritch mutation... Her hyperdactentillium has left her with tentacles in place of human arms. Each approximately six feet in length.
- Regeneration: Though nowhere near along the lines of many famous superheroes, Ophelia does have the ability to regrow lost limbs and heal faster than the normal human. This applies to more than just her tentacles.
Limitations
- Using things: No thumbs, no hands, just long boneless masses of squirming muscle and suction cups. It can be quite hard to operate anything, not to mention how long and cumbersome they are. Though they can be quite dexterous, it takes a bit of creativity sometimes to make things work. I shall mention again, that the tentacles are without bones, and would be relatively easy to cut off. And get tangled or caught on things... oh, and I would imagine sunburn sucks too. (Which makes me not want to wonder how easy it would be for tentacles to apply sunblock)
- Top heavy: Ophelia is top heavy, and not in the good way. The tentacles do no favors for her center of balance, and though she can use them to help balance and move... she can easily over extended herself and become unstable.
- Creepy: Just plain creepy - I mean come on, she has tentacles. Not only do they kind of make it look like she eats babies and strangles puppies, most people know enough about ****** to imagine where she could be going. Whether or not it is true, her mutation tends to be a good bit out of peoples comfort zones.
Skills
- Martial arts: In efforts to help her better he motor control skills, Oppie has taken martial arts lessons since a young age. While she has dabbled in wrestling, judo, and several others, her main focus has always been on Ninjutsu, with which she has recently achieved her Blue Belt.
- Sneaky: Part of being a ninja. One of her favorite parts of her lessons was learning how to be sneaky. This includes some impressive acrobatery, breaking and entering, and quitely dispatching individuals she doesn't agree with.
- First Aid: With good grades in her first aid class, Ophelia is confident in her ability to help people in an emergency.
- Fishcraft: Working at the docks with the fishmongers, Oppie has learned her fair share regarding fishing and butchery, as well as a little bit about boating! She has a little trouble with nets, though.
Flaws
- Sociopathic tendencies: Oppie is an odd duck, and doesn't quite see things like most people do. While she does came off as a bit breezy, she also seems to have trouble relating with and empathizing with people. While she hasnt shown any dangerous tendencies yet, she has shown signs that she really should go see a psychologist.
- Off-putting demeanor: See "Creepy" in Ophelia's superpower limitation section.
Shozoku: [Tool: Outfit] A simple black shinobi garb. No special fabric, and the only modification being that it is sleeveless. It's pretty easy to wear underneath her clothes.

Cheerful
She have the habit of talking and laughing with a loud voice, and even louder when screaming or crying. Tomoko likes to smile and love seeing someone else smile too. People joked that she's high on sugar 24/7, because she likes eating candy and chocolate. She's also playful and loves to pull a prank on both the student and staff of the Training Facility and giving them funny nicknames. 

High-spirited
Like most children her age, she is very energetic and bouncy. She doesn't get tired or exhausted easily, happily running and playing around especially since back home she never gets the chance to do so. 

Stubborn
Ever since she could remember, she is always right. About calculation, about a theory, in a scientific debate. She is never wrong, and people always tell her that she is too smart to make any mistake. That's why she is as stubborn as a mule and as hard as a rock could be. Tomoko will be angry if you tell her that whatever she just said/she's about to do is wrong, but as soon as it is proofed that she is indeed wrong she'll come crying and apologize for her mistake. Her life in Aegis's Training Facility will her that she is imperfect, unlike what people say to her. 

Naive
All her life she studied and was taught according to the book, to the written theory, and people like her parents always tell her what she's going to do next. Now that the book could no longer teach her and she is free from the bound of people who tried to control her, her lack of experience is showing. She still thinking like a child, making bad judgments that she take on her own, and innocent about how different and disturbing the world is different from the one written in her books. 

History
Tomoko showed how intelligent she is from when she was still in kindergarten. She is able to fully understand news on TV and read the newspaper, understanding hard kanji and complex words that most adults even have a hard time to understand.
She skipped elementary school and attended middle school at the mere age of 5, but then she proves yet again that she is too smart for it too. She graduated from high school at 7 and aced the entrance test for Tokyo University's School of Engineering and started attending college until she graduated summa cum laude at 9 years old.

The Japanese Government, amazed by her capability, offered her a chance to study aboard in America- fully funded by the government. Tomoko accepted the offer. As a part of applying for student visa, Tomoko was tested by the Commonwealth that then reveals that her intelligence is superpowered. While studying at Johns Hopkins University as an exchange student, Tomoko is also required to attend Training Facility 108 to learn about using her power.

But behind all that attention and achievement, Tomoko is very lonely. She practically doesn't have a friend or someone to match with, and occasionally see herself as nothing more but a lab rat trapped in a glass box. Her parents are too proud of her, weighing her down with expectation and showering her with praises she doesn't need, her brother and sister glared at her with envy and hatred and talked to her like she is not even human.

They only smiled at her once, which is the day she left home for America.

Tomoko accepted the Government's invitation because she wanted to make her parents proud, but she wonders if she herself is happy with it? She cried herself to sleep the first day she arrived in America and still do whenever she feeling down and missed home.
Erika Hawk (26)
Rank E Commonwealth Staff : Her guardian (and bodyguard), as her parents stayed in Japan to take care of Tomoko's older brother and sister and it could be disastrous if Tomoko is kidnapped by a wrong group of people. 

Aegis Staff and Students
She sees them as her second family. Cool bro and sis who played with her and adults who care and teach her many things. She loved them so much that she gave them nicknames, either based on her favorite Disney movie or a certain trait of the character (Ex: Ward is Grumpy) 

Sato Yashiro & Momoka
Tomoko parents, both on their 40s. Yashiro works as a salaryman while Momoka works as a teacher in a high school. They are both very proud of Tomoko, pouring her with attention and love and supporting her to do whatever she want to do. Both of them really enjoy the attention and fame as the parents of the 'miracle child'. 

Sato Toshiro & Yuuka
Toshiro is a 17 years old boy, Yuuka is 14 years old girl. They are Tomoko's older brother and sister. Both of them are really excited about having a new sibling and amazed by how intelligent Tomoko is really is. But all that love and care soon turned into hatred and envy, they are jealous and angry about how all their parents care about now is Tomoko. Upon finding out that she's a super, they distanced themselves from 'the freak' in the family. They are happy to hear that Tomoko is leaving for America, praying that she won't return anytime soon. 
Enhanced Intelligence
Tomoko's is more than genius. She possessed exceptional intellectual ability and creativity, gifted with powerful memory and superior learning capacity.
- Intuitive Aptitude: She is gifted with the ability to learn and understand something new almost spontaneously without the need of someone to guide and explain it to her.
- Enhanced Inventing: She is able to create super gadgets and techs and developing a stronger limiter for powered people, almost flawlessly.
Limitations
- Still a child: Someone needs to guide her, teach her about what to do and what she should not do, what kind of machine she should build and what that she should not? Is her creation is dangerous of other people? Will it disturb the power balance between supers? She is also weaker and more fragile. She easily gets hurt and sick, and cannot exactly fight the villain's the same way the other characters will do.
- Childish: Despite her knowledge, she is still an immature 10 years old children who have yet to fully mature mentally. She still believe what is told something by someone older than her (Ex: "There is a monster hiding under your bed!", "If you lie, a big red dot will appear on your forehead!") and scared of 'scary/dangerous/weird looking things' such as a fierce-looking dog and cockroaches.
- Trivial: She is not a know-it-all, or a walking Wikipedia. Her brain worked more like a memory card, where to store something new something else needed to be 'deleted' (she will forgot known information). For example, to learn about a certain calculation she has to 'forget' the details of World War I. She remembered the basic outline of the World War, but she can no longer recall important name and date and have to learn it again. 
- Brain cramp: If Tomoko uses her power too many times a day, she will suffer from a painful headache from the stress and overload. It is believed that as she grew older, she will last longer. To avoid using her brain/power too much, Tomoko take a nap whenever she can and went to sleep early at night (Her bedtime is 9PM).

#1 Disney & Pixar Fan: She is a big fan of them, with Monster Inc. being the first movie she ever watched. She memorized all characters name and appearance. Occasionally can be found singing a song from Disney movie. By the way, her favourite princess is Belle and her favourite movie is Tangled.

Quick Mind: Even without her power, Tomoko is still a bright child. She can quickly grasp new concepts and ideas, processing new information and quickly understand the situation. Though, as she's still a child, she still make bad choices there and there.

Sheltered: Tomoko... Doesn't really have a normal life like any other kids her age. She is constantly surrounded by people older than her, who sing nothing but praise to her (Erika was unlike any of them, she is stern and discipline though still a little bit soft on her). This makes Tomoko a bit pushy and selfish at times.

Blind Obedience: Tomoko was taught to respect those who are older than her, to listen to what the adult are saying because 'the know more' and follow the authority because 'they are the law'. She is scared of disobeying an order given to her by the government, her parents, and people who are older than her in general because she feel like she's not supposed to do that.

Small Pink Laptop: [Tool] Tomoko owned her own laptop, gifted to her by the government with high level encryption. She uses it to store her research data, many e-books, sending e-mails to other scientists she's currently working with, and occasionally use it to stream movies or cartoons.

Her own smartphone: [Tool] Aside from her laptop, the government also gave her her own smartphone. Aside from the default applications like browser and music player, Tomoko also allowed to install several apps like LINE and e-book reader. She's also allowed to install her own, self-made app. She only has 5 phone number in her phone: Erika, her parents, and two emergency number.

Hopeful
Even in the toughest of times, Kennith can be there to provide a warm smile. An eternal Optimist, Kennith's morale is almost impossible to crush, and his warm heart extends to pretty much everyone. Even in the dourest of circumstances, it's tough to keep him down.

Extroverted
Kennith's an outgoing guy, and his whole attitude displays it. Friendly and amiable, Kennith is eager to meet new people and never afraid to strike up a conversation.

Impetus
In the heat of the moment, Kennith operates less on logic and more what feels "right". His choices usually don't take long as a result, but he can miss things from time to time if only he took a few seconds to think about the consequences.

Naive
Kennith's heart of gold means that more often than not, he's probably being lead along without realizing it. His eternal wish to bring out the best in someone has time and time put him in a rough spot, but his heart knows he can't give up the chance that maybe things can happen so easily.

History
Before powers, Kenny's life was a day to day affair. Having never known his mother as she died in childbirth, Kenny lived a peaceful assistance as his father desperately tried to play the role of both parental figures. Jerry did his best, and barring that he only forgot Kenny once or twice at sports games was forgotten as he did his best to raise his son. Getting powers was a strange affair, it wasn't a violent incident so much as strange. Kenny was simply trying to go to bed, when he found himself thinking about this and that, as one tends to do when honestly trying to sleep. As his mind wandered, he realized that it was more than just his train of thought that was moving along, he was actually moving about. In his shock he jumped back into his body, but after talking to his dad the day after and performing some simple, almost crude tests, it was clear that Kenny had managed to acquire some form of super ability.

The few days before he left were emotional, and Kennith spent the time bonding with his father, and having talks about his own future. He didn't quite understand his power, or even if it was that useful. All Kenny knew was that he had an opportunity to help someone, even if he didn't quite understand it yet.

Kennith practices his powers a few times before he came to Aegis, but even then he's new to the world of supers. With a heart full of good intent and his head held high, Kennith set out to control his powers better, if only to try and make the world a better place.
Family:
Jerry Warfield (Alive): A normal human and single Father to Kennith. Does his best, but is over his head with the whole "super" thing. A supportive parent nontheless, Jerry acts as a rolemodel for Kennith: Messing up once in awhile is fine, it's your intent that matters, and to help others as you would want to be helped.

Alicia Warfield(Deceased): Kennth's late mother, who died in childbirth. Kennith didn't really know her much, but she was a super herself, with the ability to control and direct many groups of animals as a sort of conductor of beasts. Her death meant Kennith never really had a mother figure in his life, but his dad did his best to make up for lack of a mom

Students:
Alexis Devan (Alive):
Both of the teen’s mothers were friends as children, and despite the fact that they died when the two were young, Kennith’s father would drive the boy down to visit Alexis, one of her only true friends for the entirety of her childhood. Though Kennith of course could not come to visit her often, and when he did it couldn’t be for long, as it was best kept from Alexis’s father, but the kind boy was always able to soften up Alexis for the durations of his stay, and since she wasn’t able to leave any sort of letter explaining what had happened and where she’d gone, Kennith had no clue what had happened to his friend. The teen and his father had spent a week in town doing nothing but searching for the girl after stumbling upon a house turned to ashes, before reluctantly returning home when funds became too tight to stay much longer. Fortunately for the teen, his old friend would be waiting for him at Aegis

Teachers/Other Adults
Scarlet (Alive): Leader of the commonwealth, and after the events of the Knight attacks on the Commonwealth building, someone who really owes him (And the others) lunch
Astral Projection
Kennith can expand his consciousness, allowing himself to drift away from his body for a short time. This allows him to explore the world with his mind, rather than his body, as well as phase through obstacles. In his Astral form, Kennith's consciousness is invisible, allowing him to see whatever he needs to while being undetected.
- Astral Tether: Even through solid objects, Kennith knows the way back to his own body
Limitations
- Range Limit: Projecting your consciousness for any distance is difficult, and Kennith's power isn't the strongest. His record projection distance is about 15 feet
- Tiresome: One's mind and body like to be together as much as possible, and forcing them apart even for a short time has a great amount of mental demand on Kennith. While not physically a difficult job, one's mental state can become strained if it spends too much time floating away from his body. As such, repeated uses or Projecting for long periods of time can be difficult for Kennith.
- A Body Without... As the old expression goes: When your mind is away, the body will...do absolutely nothing. Without his consciousness to actually do something with his body, his squishy self is completely defenseless. His body also stops resisting gravity when he leaves it, meaning he can collapse on the floor in a heap if he isn't already prepared.

Above all else, Penny is a fearless soul. Brave to a fault, other's opinions, societal demands and cultural taboo's mean nothing to her as Penny will do Penny till the day she dies. There never was a bogey man in her closet and nobody had ever gotten close enough to threaten her with violence during her critical learning period. As such, Penny holds almost no fears and repercussions often fall on deaf ears.

Always one to dive deeper, Penny lives by 'Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.' This, of course, has resulted in many instances where Penny started googling brain bleach but she never regrets having found new and interesting information.

Sociable
For a person locked away, Penny is very socially minded. Always on her phone talking to someone, a member of a dozen forums and an avid vlogger, Penny has almost an obsession with being connected with people in some way, doing something with them. That said, it doesn't venture into the realm of an unhealthy level of connections. She enjoys the distance between the people she is connected to and most likely wouldn't change that. But the urge to get out every now and then and be with people is still there.

Dr. Jane Kemp & Dr. Dean Hurtzmann
Official case holders and unofficial parents, both Doctors have been acting in Penelope's best interests since she admitted to AEGIS care. From making sure she's not being treated as a prisoner to suiting up and changing her diapers, they both have acted as surrogate parents despite not being married themselves. Both now reaching their later years, their role has become much more a wise loving elder than physical caregiver and with Dr. Kemp being recently diagnosed with bone cancer, their future roles and the impact that will have on Penny is uncertain.

Awarded her blue card and dubbed 'Fallout', Penny continues to live underneath the facility as a psuedo-reactor. Her radiation used to heat steam and power rigged nuclear turbines for the facility to sell as power.
Radiation Emission
Emitting a constant stream of extremely high dosages of radiation, Penelope is more akin to a fuel rod than a human being. Her background radiation levels are extremely high and she is listed as a HAZMAT. Her levels are high enough where she must be sealed off in order to keep others safe. Putting out well over 400 SI Units per hour, Penelope's room is easily one of the most radioactive locations on earth without Penelope making an effort. When she focuses, the amount of radiation can both be dropped, but not to non dangerous levels, or increased further. This behavior is discouraged. As such, all of her old belongings, biological material, and must also be contained and disposed of like any other radioactive waste.
- Wavelength focus: Penelope can briefly alter the wavelengths of her native radiation. Ranging from alpha through gamma and can even temporarily emit non ionizing radiation types. This is straining and when finished, she reverts to her natural state of emission
- Intensity focus: Like her wavelength focus, the intensity of her emission can briefly be channeled into a more direct stream of radiation. Instead of full body radiation, Penelope has discovered she is capable of focusing a variable width stream for a few moments.
Limitations
- Insulation: Insulation stops radiation as it would naturally. High density material with high atomic mass such as lead operate as excellent shielding against radioactive material, effectively blocking Gamma through Alpha particles (with the exception of high beta particle days which could in fact lead to a more lethal type of radiation exposure) Overall, if Penny is treated like a fuel rod, the same sort of precautionary measures are just as effective at negating her danger.
- Unlimited Radiation: Her power cannot be turned off with a limiter as she continues to leak radiation from her body. Radiation has a significant half-life with Penny, essentially making her limiter a false hope for those wishing to be shielded by it. After years of free radiation bleed, her cells are all extremely radioactive, down to her skin cells that are shed. Those dead cells continue to emit radiation thus making her a hazard still.
- 360 noscope: Inability for more than a few moments to direct her ability. Her radiation expands in all directions from her body. A lethal dose to the bad guy in front of her will also be a lethal dose to the team behind her, the children in the building to her left and the orphan animal baby shelter to her right.

Sometimes he is seen wearing a hat, similar to those train conductors wear. If he's not wearing it at a given moment you can bet that he at least brought it along. He is also known to own a collection of said hats, all in different colors.
Fun-loving
Despite his uptight character, Kendrick has an inner-child hidden deep inside. He likes jokes, puns and riddles, and likes to make up his own. Firstly, his codename is a pun already, since it can mean both an orchestra conductor, --a bit of a reference to the way he 'conducts' his toys--, or a train conductor. He keeps this up even further by wearing a conductor hat.
He'll laugh at jokes and repeat jokes he heard when a window of opportunity presents itself. He won't ever join in pranking though, deeming it mean and a complete waste of his time. Toys, of course, are the centerpiece of both his sense of fun and his power.

Kendrick needs to really trust a person to willingly show them this side of him, so the most people get are tiny, occasional glimpses, prompted by the most different situations. Unknown to Sam, however, her advice during the exam might just have been the extra push Kendrick needed towards him being truer to this side of himself. Only time will tell.

Reticent
The first impression you'll get of Kendrick Haywood is that he is a reserved, serious and maybe even boring person. As you get to know him, however, you'll realise that is merely a facade, and a well-constructed one. There is just no way to know what Kendrick is thinking since he's constantly restraining his emotions to convey to others a graceful and respectful vibe about himself.
When he does show emotions clearly, it tends to be jarring, come out confusing and not completely believable, mostly because the change from his usual image is too radical and unexpected. Sometimes he acts like a serious, adult person, others, he looks just like every other teenager you might know.

Caring
Having absentee parents, Kendrick bonds very strongly with his friends and his toys. He may not show it but, he enjoys being there for the people he cares about and will try to make them feel better when they're sad. You might be by yourself on a bench in a mellow mood and suddenly be approached by this guy offering you an ice cream or something...
It might take a while, but upon realizing he's disappointing or being mean to someone, especially a friend, he's almost instantly overtaken by guilt. The boy might not be skilful with words on all of these occasions, but he'll still do his best to stay around and offer his support, even if a silent one.

With his toys too, the bond runs deep. Kendrick regards them as family, naming, cleaning and repairing them on a daily basis. If eventually one of them is broken beyond repair, he'll mourn for his fallen friend as if it had been a person and, even if he ever get a replacement toy, it will never feel the same to him.

Neurotic
Being raised in a rich family, Kendrick likes everything to be in perfect order, especially his things. He'll get caught on organizing and cleaning every now and then, and looks down on people who seem too messy or relaxed to him. His love for manners and rules can make him very irritating. He'll probably recite said rules to you, when you seem out of line to him. For Kendrick, a rule is a law, and as such, must be followed without question.
Lately, though, he's been realizing that a couple of these said 'rules' have been simply set up to make his life difficult, for absolutely no valid reason...

History

Rupert and Evangeline came to Baltimore to inherit a very profitable and ever growing known finances company, that had just lost their Director, Duncan Haywood. Due to growing up in a traditional and wealthy family, Kendrick's life was ever since full of demanding tasks, extra proficiency classes and all kinds of binding rules on how to be a 'proper gentleman', including the non-presence of chocolate and the prohibition of toys in the household. His parents could be always leaving for work and returning extremely late, but all the rules had to be followed absentee parents or not.

Thus, Kendrick only came across his powers when his babysitter/housemaid Petra Combs, feeling sorry for the hard situations the boy was put through, decided to cheer him up with a teddy bear on his birthday. It worked. The lady had never seen him that excited in all three years of being his caretaker. The parents tho, they didn't like it at all and when they discovered the toy a couple weeks later, they instantly hid it away. But Ted came back. Every single time it was taken away by night, but Kendrick would have it with himself the next day. That's when the Haywoods started suspecting their son was a super and finally asked about what was going on. Of course, the little innocent boy told them everything, all of the details on how seemingly wishing for Ted to be back made him escape its prison from his parents' bedroom. From there on Rupert and Evangeline Haywood gradually became even more absent, barely speaking in person with their own son. They wouldn't admit it, but having a super in the family scared them.

When he was thirteen, Kendrick was enrolled in AEGIS by his parents, first, without his being consulted at all, but he has grown to enjoy the little moment of freedom and non-surveillance when he goes to class. Always carrying some part of his ever growing toy collection (They're his friends, okay?) in his backpack, Kendrick looks forward to who knows? Finally make some people-friends, since his parents seem utterly unreachable...

Full Version

When Kendrick's grandfather died, and his father inherited the company, he did not think twice. Rupert Haywood took his wife and a two-year-old Kendrick all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, from London to Baltimore--the company's headquarters--to fill in the director's post.
Due to growing up in a traditional and wealthy family, Kendrick was expected to act like a 'proper gentleman' from an early age. Toys were not allowed, he had difficult and boring classes such as violin, and constantly quizzed rules and manners as if preparing for an exam. It was a completely uninteresting lifestyle.
To complete his hardships, his father was always working (or talking about work) and the mother had the bad habit of attending too many social events and shopping while neglecting everything else. Ultimately, their lifestyles made them absentee parents, who didn't seem to care much about their child.

His first contact with a toy happened at his 5th birthday. Petra Combs, the household maid, used her some of her 'mad money' to buy little Kendrick a teddy bear. She felt bad for his tightly circumscribed life and wanted to give him something fun. The curiosity in Kendri's face when he was given the wrapped present (his first!) and the joy that radiated from him when he opened it, was enough to melt the kind lady's heart. Kendrick named the stuffed bear 'Ted' and played with it happily.
It didn't, however, last long. When his parents got home, surprisingly earlier than they normally did, Ted was taken away from him. Kendri had the longest lecture of his life. It went something like: 'This is not the way the future heir of the Haywood family should behave' and 'Playing with toys won't accomplish anything in life' and 'blah blah blah, we are bad parents who hate you' When asked who had brought such 'abomination inside', Kendrick lied and said he had bought it himself. Knowing his son was covering for someone else, (how could a 5-year-old buy a toy?) they made his punishment harsher and added even more manners quizzes and useless classes. But, at least, he had protected the maid from any trouble.

The next day, however, was particularly harsh. The violin teacher had yelled at him for not concentrating. French classes had been tough; he just couldn't get any pronunciation right that morning. Everything just seemed to be going bad. Also, as always, his parents weren't around and he had no one to talk to... Oh, if only someone would hug and console this little kid!
That's when Kendrick felt a little furry arm hug him. It was Ted! But how? He had been taken away to his parents' room, hadn't him?
Not giving a second thought to such details as to how Ted could have escaped from his parents, or indeed how he was moving at all, he simply enjoyed the sudden company and regained his energy to finish the rest of the day's boring assignments. When he woke up the next day though, his parents had taken the toy away again. Wishing for Ted to come to him once more, Kendrick caught the sight of the toy walking towards his bedroom, exiting the dreaded 'prison'. That's when Kendri first realised he was special.
To his parents though, it had become a total mystery: everytime the toys were taken, they somehow ended up back with their son. How could this be? After thorough research on supernatural phenomena, Evangeline and Rupert Haywood concluded that their son might be a super and, as soon as their busy schedules permitted it, teamed up to ask Kendrick about "The Mystery of the 'Boomerang' Toys." Innocent child that he was, he explained it all to them without omitting a thing. That Ted came back, all by himself, whenever he wished it to.
From then on, his parents became ever more strict and absent. The truth was, Kendrick's ability scared them, as it made it harder to discipline him and could, they imagined, turn out to be dangerous.

When he got a little older, Kendrick started to buy the toys himself. His toy collection just seemed to grow on its own, limited only by the size of his once dull bedroom, filling it with new colors and shapes. To assuage his loneliness the boy named and cared for each of his toys as if they were his actual family. He had his favorites, of course, but every one of them was precious and irreplaceable.
He would bring them to school too. It started with just Ted, but soon Kendrick was bringing a bigger bag than he actually needed, just to fill it, secretly, with toys.

At the age of thirteen, his parents enrolled him at AEGIS. As always, they wouldn't take no for an answer. (Or wouldn't have, if they had even bothered to ask for his opinion.) Kendrick had no desire to argue anyway; he enjoyed the idea of meeting other special people like him. Who knows? Maybe he will find someone besides his toys to bond with! (Ideally, he'd like to reach out to his parents, but they seem utterly unreachable...)

Reasons for Attendance and Recent Life Events:

His parents enrolled him, never taking a no for an answer, so it's not like he has any choice on this matter. Despite that fact, Kendrick has been enjoying a couple of his classes and meeting some interesting people at facility 108, so it's not really that much an obligation anymore. However, his parents have already laid down a path for him to follow and the boy is still wavering between fully accepting it or trying for something else... Is being the heir of the company really what he wants to do? Or is it what he HAS to do? Does he even get a say on this matter?
Thus, the future is less uncertain, but it still could have potential to change.

Apparently, Kendrick keeps being thrown in death-life situations by Lady Fate:

First, it was the Commonwealth Tour on that fateful Saturday. Not only he saw a kid getting shot in front of him (and being slightly traumatized in the process, if his freak out on First Aid wasn't already a clue), but he had a great time fighting off the sniper, who totally deserved more than what she got, and has been put in uncommon situations such as: tending to Kennith's shot wound following Mary's instructions, dealing with blood when lifting passed out Chris (A Haywood always keeps his word) and being unexpectedly yelled at back for the first time.

Then there was Snowglobe, on another Saturday, where a really dangerous super invaded 108 on a snowstorm day and trapped the whole facility inside a snowglobe-like power-created contraption. Then again, his parents got kidnapped by two erratic Raguel members during the Jailbreak incident and he reunited a few students to aid in their rescue... And the pattern continued.

During what was the final speech of the end term exam's water course, which had surprisingly been incredibly enjoyable, the Knights of Raguel cowardly devised a surprise attack plan on 108. Tired of being constantly thrown in these situations and inspired by Sam's accidental advice, Kendrick had promptly started leading Team Snowglobe (Manami, Samantha, Marianne and a student from other facility called Miia) to counterattack, but saw himself in a position where doing anything would be too life-risking, instead ending up inside someone's water bubble and doing nothing more than watch the conflict unravel in front of him, being handled by most of the facility's staff.
Once all was said an done, however, despite his inner conflict towards the action, Kendrick approached Manami, sitting beside her in an offer of silent support over the loss of her parents, when their boat was set alight by one of the Knights and exploded.

Back home, the news of the attack prompted his parents to give him the most dreaded final ultimatum ever: having graduated or not, Kendrick was to be pulled out of both 108 and his actual school immediately, remaining inside the household walls at all times and being home-schooled for the rest of his studies. It was his worst nightmare coming true...
What now?
Family and Household
Evangeline and Rupert Haywood: Kendrick's parents. They won't admit it to their son or perhaps even to themselves, but the truth is they're frightened of his abilities. They always find excuses to be anywhere but home, and never come to the school. Kendrick has grown used to not having them around. Their presence has become more shocking than their absence. Ultimately though, while their methods of parenting seem harsh, Kendrick doesn't regard them with anger or dislike. Actually, deep down, he wishes they would stay beside him more...

Unfortunately, If they're ever at home it means something has happened, and usually, it's something bad...For him.

Evangeline might still talk to him via video-chat to order him around. She is the person to call when the boy wants to go out or make something different and the only one to call him 'Kendy'. Though it might have meant affection when he was little, now it only means he's being manipulated and doesn't have much of a choice about it. Once a shopping addict, now suddenly a magazine's editor-chief, thanks to her husband playing his cards juuuust right and buying the corporation when it was about to crumble. You could say that Eva miraculously saved it from oblivion.

Rupert will speak to Kendrick mostly via the servants or e-mails and he is the person to call only when it's about very expensive purchases. He is the one who will continuously point out what his son lacks, call him a failure and never be pleased enough with his achievements. On the company, he's that frightening boss who enjoys keeping his subordinates on a tight leash by always complying with his threats and always seemingly being a step forward in his negotiations. Try and trick him if you can, he's always ready for the treachery of even his most trusted partner and WILL resort to psychological manipulation (or you know, just buy your entire corporation and throw you out like trash) if he has to.

Evangeline and Rupert don't even love each other anymore, they're just together as an agreement, to keep the image of what a strong and happy family the Haywoods are. When they're together, it usually ends in fighting with constant passive-aggressive mentions of each other, with their son eventually being dragged into their conflicts against his will. What do they expect of him, pick a side? Hah, as if he could do that!
Those always end with Rupert putting Eva back at her 'place', where she's forced to agree with him and just shut-up like a good wife and let her husband handle things his way.

Despite them fighting a lot amongst themselves, when the concern is Kendrick their opinions are often tuned-in: Keep him out of trouble, give him more classes to attend to, restrain his already very little freedom! You know, the usual.

Duncan Haywood: Kendrick's deceased grandfather. Kendrick has grown tired to hear the heroic stories of how his grandfather has built the company from scratch by himself. Words has also gotten out that he was a hardworking, persevering, smart leader but also, fair, kind and admirable man. He sounds like Rupert's complete opposite in some ways! Huh, maybe the apple CAN roll too far from the tree after all..

Petra Combs: Petra has been Kendrick's babysitter ever since he was 3. The relationship he has with her is a strange mix of servant, second mother and a friend, with him calling her often for things like playing chess, even if she might have actual work to do. She's the one who gave him Ted and the one Kendrick comes to when needing advice on a subject he doesn't excel at: common daily social interactions.

Ivor Blecher: He is one of the family's bodyguards, who also works as a driver. He used to transport Kendrick to school and back. At some point, Kendrick decided he didn't need the car anymore, he likes running and the school was just a few blocks away. Ivor understood and Kendrick started walking to school, all by himself. On out of the schedule situations, however, his mother might order Kendrick to let him drive.

Lots of Servants and Security Personnel: There are way too many people working inside the Haywood's household for Kendrick to remember them all. Some of them, like Helga, have more unique characteristics or had unforgettable reactions to his bedroom that make it easier to recall, but most don't.
With them, Kendrick has an "I order and you obey" kind of relationship and they have to comply, even if in doubt about his decisions or against their own wishes. It's the boss' son, after all, disobeying could cost them their jobs.

Toy-Family
Ted: Kendrick considers Ted like he would a brother, it was his very first toy, given to him by Petra, which is the closest of a friend he's had for quite a while. When he is sad, he'll often talk to the Teddy bear and unburden. He is also the only toy Kendri will take everywhere, without exception. Sometimes he'll walk around the house with Ted on his shoulder, like a parrot.

Lieutenant George: The sole survivor of the lawnmower incident, where the box of plastic soldiers mysteriously ended up in the yard. Kendrick thinks his parents had something to do with it, but he never found any evidence of it. It's not like someone would like to investigate a toy's murder case...

Harry: A Red, 3.9'' long, metal miniature of a car. Kendrick went to the store after class and personally chose it. It's always sitting by his desk, beside his laptop. A great company!

Mr. Holeshot: A 9.8'' long, plastic car with an antenna in the back, suggesting it had a controller once. It had been abandoned by someone probably to be thrown away. Kendrick passed by and couldn't help but wonder why someone was throwing a still perfectly good toy away, what a cruelty! So, he took it in. Who needs a controller when you can literally make the toy move on its own?

Kefir: The metal lion was supposed to be just another decoration in the living room, but for an 8-year-old Kendrick it was another toy for him to spend time with. Eventually, he took it to his bedroom and since no one complained about it, it stood there. Even now, after all this time, he can't bear to just see it as a decor, it is also his friend.

Maverick: It was a consolation prize on one of the charity events Kendrick had been forced to attend to in behalf or his parents. Not really 'consolation prize' if you ask him, why would he want another television anyway? He barely watches the one he already has...
One of the times Maverick went to school, it was snatched from the locker by one of the students. Ever since, Maverick doesn't get taken out of the house much, it just stays by the bed until Kendrick is back. It did come along and was ordered to stay behind to protect Kennith in the Commonwealth tour though.

Pandora: One of the toys Kendrick bonded at his ability evaluation test. It consisted of just the locomotive and the railroad car in the start but recently it has acquired quite an admirable set of cars to go along with it in the automated track.

Spiral: It's something he bought out of curiosity and surprisingly enjoyed a lot. Sometimes Kendrick will sit by the bed and just make it go from one side to another while he thinks.
Everyone told him it was called a "Slinky" but soon enough he made a statement about how if he called it Slinky, it would be just any other of these in the world. So, he called it Spiral instead.

Sparkles: Someone gave it to him in a Secret Santa, to spite him. The idea had been to give Kendrick the girliest looking plushy they found in the store and laugh at his reaction. Obviously, it did not work as intended and Kendrick even played along, naming it something "girly" in return.

Chess Set: It's an expensive-looking, carefully wood carved one. His parents gave him that, you know as an intellectual exercise or something and it turned out to be one of his favorite pastimes. Kendrick has named every single piece with popular names or after actual locations. He went as far as to have someone carve the names in gold on each one of the bases so that he could tell them apart.

Wolf Higgins: Surprisingly, he gets along with her really well! Their friendship reached the point where Kendrick is comfortable enough to be less formal and they often tease each other with puns in a friendly way. When he needs to talk about things he couldn't really talk about at home, She's the first person that crosses his mind.
Wolf also lent him Mr.Wolf for a month for them to bond. During that time, he would bring the wolf plush along with him to facility 108 on a regular basis. Currently, it has been returned, but now, Wolf is the one who has to bring him along occasionally.

Aaron Mallory: Kendrick simply adores the Collateral Damage & You teacher, mostly because he still has some common sense and is capable of putting order to any student conflict. He and Kendrick have very similar trails of thought in some matters, which makes the man his go-to when conflict arises. Mr. Mallory is just that reliable!

Allen McNabb: The Emotional Composure teacher. Mr. McNabb is an oddly cheerful old man with some very *clears throat* unique habits? Kendrick doesn't think he should be that happy, the whole picture just makes him very uneasy for some reason and he avoids interacting with the man as most as possible without making his intentions clear. Of course, since he is a teacher and the teacher-student hierarchy is a thing, Kendrick is never disrespectful towards the man, no matter how off-putting he is.

Anneliese Van Can: The Guidance Counselor and the first person to truly understand him, even if he didn't have to say much for that to happen. When he had run to 108 for help with his parents' kidnapping, the woman approached him and surprisingly not to talk him out of it, but to offer her assistance. Ever since that day, Kendrick has been considering seeing her again, this time officially, in her office. The only reason he hasn't done so it's because doing that would be assuming that he has a problem to fix, which he's not very akin in doing yet.

Scarlet Chernov: Impressive career, not so impressive as a person? Really, all he ever did was ask a question and get mercilessly shut down. Rude! Next time they see each other, Kendrick will decide to not say a word.

Agent Harry: Why is this guy even a Commonwealth agent? He lacks professionalism and his display during the tour was disappointing and clumsy. Where did he even go while everyone else was being attacked?

Classmates
Hamasaki Manami: Ahh, Manami~ What an odd-ball that one is. They met on a Saturday, that with his luck ended up being the day of the Snowglobe incident, at first he was appalled by her unusual appearance, but soon found himself fascinated and amused by the girl's innocent behavior. That he felt like she was too naive for the real world and wanted to protect her. Pfft, turns out it was him that needed protection that day!
Their relationship, at least from Kendrick's POV seems built on top of a thin glass. She keeps referring to him as his first friend, --which he doesn't feel worthy of being--, and they'll have some really good times together, then he'll screw it all up quicker than anyone can say the word 'ego', ending back at stake zero. He wants Manami to see the good parts of him and none of the bad but keeps backing himself into a corner on that matter. Meanwhile to Kendrick, the girl's strength, self-confidence and kindness are all astonishingly inspiring.
He seems to care about her a lot, perhaps even more than he himself realizes it.

Samantha Casan: These two also met on the Snowglobe day, and with a plethora of assumptions about each other, didn't have that good of a relationship since minute one. Sam comes across as the trickster type, always up for pranking and teasing others with little remorse for the things she does. She also always seems to be in a hurry, which makes her stupidly reckless and inattentive at times. Her behavior, however, indulges Kendrick's more 'relaxed' and fun-loving side towards giving her something back in a similar manner, making most of their interactions something akin to an endless 'teasing war' that none is ever the winner of. It's quite the weird relationship...

Chris Kravitz: An emo kid wearing a hoodie he met one Saturday the tour through Commonwealth HQ. No one could know what was awaiting these two. After watching this guy riding a filing cabinet all the way from the second-story window of the building and directly into an armed terrorist, the teen realized there was more to him than just being antisocial. Ever since, they met again when Chris signed up for rescuing his parents from their kidnappers. Kendrick has a huge debt to pay Chris and is more inclined to lend him money or make little favors than he is to others.

Marianne Ross: Despite having a tendency to (discreetly but not really) mock people's mistakes, let curiosity guide her and occasionally talk in enigmatic ways for the fun of having people decipher them, Marianne is actually very reliable and resourceful. She managed to stay calm enough to help in the Commonwealth attack and came up with good ideas through the whole thing. Kendrick doesn't think he could have handled things as good as he did in case she wasn't around. He's grateful for her support at that time.
Marianne is also very stylish and has this air of grace about her, he's forced to admit it.

xXSaltMistressXx: The chatroom mistress. Mysterious, impolite and annoying. Wherever she is, it seems she's able to watch the facility cameras, even places she should NOT BE SPYING ON. She has earned a month of silence and ignoring from him for posting up a wall of 'Toy-Boy' in the chat. It's the Haywood word. He's already done enough lowering the time of the punishment.

Other
The Knights of Raguel: Twisted coward psychos, there's no other way to define them. Attacking the facility when everyone was distracted, making no distinction between their targets and civilians, exploding Manami's boat... If Kendrick was already pissed off with all of the times he had run into these goddamn terrorists then now he has a thirst for justice and maybe also a wish to punch a couple of these so-called 'knights' in the face... With the aid of Ted of course!
Making a public service, serving punishment... Despicable, laughable, pathetic. Nothing but excuses for a genocide. These lunatics deserve to be in jail, for a lifetime!

Anthony Lewis Ledford: One of the many teachers Kendrick has. Mr. Ledford is the Violin teacher and he makes the experience with the boy's most beloved instrument, an even more delightful time. Nah that's sarcasm, he's an exigent guy who for some reason likes to dictate the note Kendrick's supposed to play, in loud and good sound, instead of actual strings and finger positions, and he won't be satisfied until the sequence has been played PERFECTLY, that perfectionist guy!
Sometimes Kendrick wishes the man would choke on his own words, just so that he could have a minute of silence during these hellish classes.

Halley Paquet Beaumont: Long ago Kendrick thought that Violin was the worst class ever, then he was forcefully enrolled into 'The History of Economics' and realized just how wrong he was. Ms. Beaumont actually seems like a good person and is clearly passionate about her teaching job, including the subject she teaches. The subject though, it is insufferable! It's such a throw of names and concepts of college-level things Kendrick isn't even remotely interested into, making it into a very long, boring and mental draining experience at every new class. It's such a shame that the woman's passion and energy have to be pointlessly wasted on him like this.
Toy Manipulation
The ability to control toys to do his bidding. Kendrick can make a toy move according to his thoughts. If he pictures Ted the teddy bear grabbing a pen, then Ted will do so accordingly. The toys under his control have enhanced strength and reflexes, so they can lift heavy objects as well as jump and run faster than a hypothetical similar-sized human would.
- Vision Sharing: If he concentrates, Kendrick can momentarily see what his toy is seeing, while under control. It's very useful to spy on people. It only works with toys that actually have eyes though. The material of which toy he's using is made-out of can influence in how bright and clear the image is, though it never becomes a complete blur or anything like that, it's more of an extra quirk than a nuisance.
Limitations
- Need for Bonding: Kendrick's power requires extensive bonding with the toy, loving it, naming it, getting to know it and caring for it. That leaves him only his Toy-Family; he cannot use toys he has just met.
  A full bond must be at least one month old. A bond between two weeks and a month may work, but it will need more concentration than normal.
- The Empire's Borders: Kendrick can control toys that are at a maximum of 1 block (263 feet 9 inches) from him, in any direction, this includes during Vision-link. The moment any of them wander beyond the limit, the toys become inert and the sight-link is instantly interrupted prompting the boy into a surprise response.
- Too Much at Once: The maximum number of toys that he can control at once is 5, that includes any entity. So, if Kendrick was manipulating chess pieces, he would only be able to control 5 of them. Attempting to control more than 5 will cause headaches and if kept on for a very long time, internal bleeding and brain damage. The same goes for forcing too hard his manipulation on a toy that's standing beyond the range of 1 block.
  When using Vision Sharing, only one toy can be manipulated, as it takes much more concentration.
  The size of the toy also matters. The bigger the toy, more concentration is needed and larger is the effort.
- Is This a Toy? The definition of a toy, by itself it's loose. The one to define what is a toy and what isn't is Kendrick himself, with his own convictions and experiences. An inflatable life-size doll is NOT a toy. A very big statue is NOT a toy (unless it was made to resemble one. A plastic statue of a plastic soldier is actually a VERY BIG plastic soldier!).
  However, things some might call figures or simply decoration (Like Kefir, the metal lion) CAN be considered toys by him, especially if the bonding occurred at a younger age.
- Little but Mighty: Even with it's enhanced strength, while in the influence of Kendrick's manipulation, a toy cannot carry anything heavier than 5 times it's own weight. For example, a Teddy bear would be able to carry a pillow, even two but, not a television.
  As for the toy's hit strength, every hit has the strength of an average human, with a plus, depending on the material the toy is made of. For example, A teddy bear's hit would feel similar to being punched by a person wearing cotton filled gloves. A metal miniature of a car's hit, however, would feel similar to being punched by someone wearing brass knuckles.
- Locked In: When using the vision-link Kendrick's mind is so focused on the task that he is somewhat 'locked' in it. All manner of verbal communication is done by thought, which is great if you have a telepath in the room, but not so much to anyone else. He is still aware of his body's surroundings, so people can still communicate with him, he just won't be able to respond until the link is released...
- (Mis)Communication: If instead, someone decides to tag-along with the toy he's controlling and moves away from Kendrick himself, we have a complete different story. The toy can't talk, make mouth sounds (not even sighs!) or even hear anything, thus making Kendrick's immediate world silent for the whole trip. He is left to reading body cues and communicating through mimic, whose interpretations are left to whoever he is communicating with. To make it clearer with an example, if he was outside a building and the toy was inside it, Kendrick would still be able to hear the streets and such but anything that's happening in the building, around the toy would be just like watching a television set on mute. It's preferable to either have someone stick near him to give the instructions or pick someone who's, at least, average at guessing games as a field partner.
- Ping? ...... Pong: The farther a toy is from him the longer it takes for a vision-link to 'start-up'. This won't ever exceed 10 seconds but makes keeping a conversation during the link this much harder, not to mention extremely time-wasting. If he were to stop it to talk and then get back to it later, the toy in the field would be rendered completely immobile and 'vulnerable' during that window of time. For that reason alone, Kendrick will avoid coming back and forth through the 'connection' if the toy is longer in his sight's range.
- Annihilation of a Toy: Destroying a toy to the point it can no longer move, invalidates Kendrick's ability and that toy can no longer be used by him. Since Kendrick and the destroyed toy were 'connected mentally', Kendrick also feels a ping of pain (and lots of sadness) when the connection is severed.
  The shattered connection won't return even if the toy is reassembled or remade with new materials, it might look the same, but it won't FEEL the same. To Kendrick, that toy has already passed away.
Skills
- Impeccable Manners: Not really that useful in a daily basis, but due to Kendrick's constant lessons and quizzes in manners, the boy knows how to behave himself in fancy restaurants, in the presence of important people and so on. It goes beyond knowing what order you're supposed to use the cutlery in and expands to what subjects to talk about and more importantly, how to talk about them.
- Logical Reasoning: Introduced to intellectual activities such as Chess at an early age, Kendrick has acquired a more logical and rational way to analyze situations, carefully raising up all of the possible actions and all of the possible outcomes to said actions. If not in a more prideful and angry mood, people can bet every decision of his has been thought about narrowly.
- Violin and Piano: The two instrument classes he was forced to attend to, Kendrick can play both almost flawlessly. He actually enjoys the piano and on very rare occasions can be seen in the household's music room, playing a couple classical pieces to entertain himself. The violin, however, he despises. Who cares if it's a "Stradivarius passed down on his family for generations" or whatever, it's an annoying instrument, quite difficult and frustrating to learn. His teacher, Mr. Ledford, also has a knack for making this process twice as irritating.
- Waltz: A must know, especially if you're the heir to a rich family who occasionally attends to public events (even if they mostly go without you...). Kendrick has had Waltz lessons and can pretty much lead his dance pair perfectly. That's the only dance he knows though, so if someone ever decides to take him to an actual teenager party, on top of having a complaining Kendrick, they'll have the boy stare at everything in utter shock. He has absolutely no idea of what to even DO in such an occasion.
- "The Art of Business" Before Rupert Haywood completely vanished from his son's life, he was sure to give Kendrick through lessons in the art of negotiations, also the art of manipulation to an extent. Despite the couple of 'bad' advice tangled in those lessons, some more useful things such as analyzing your partners' behaviour and being always ready with plan B's no matter how certain things seem, have given Kendrick a certain stubbornness and toughness when dealing with more business-like situations. Some people might be in for a surprise, in case they let the whole teenager thing fool them.
  Kendrick is also an avid user of the 'Risk x Profit' business-like trail of thought. If the risk is higher than the possible profit in a situation, that is deemed a bad move to do. However, if the opposite is true then that's probably the path he'll choose.
- Average Toy Maintenance: Due to the nature of his power, Kendrick doesn't like that any of his toy-friends stay far from him for very long. Because of that, he has taken it upon himself to learn how to maintain, inspect and fix his toys. He doesn't indulge in sewing, that's Petra's job, but he systematically dusts, cleans, cuts cloth (in case a plush misses a limb or something), re-paints them and messes with the friction mechanisms to get miniature cars rolling again.
  Tasks that require further expertise, cutting plastic, for example, are normally assigned to someone else and the toys are only ever taken to an actual toy hospital in very extreme cases. Kendrick can't help but worry endlessly until they come back.
Flaws
- A Role to Play: As the sole heir of the American branch of the Haywood family (not that they care about contacting the British branch at all), Kendrick has been constantly overwhelmed by expectations, lessons and responsibilities he never really asked for. Things like behaving like a strong, confident leader, not using his hat out in public, not mentioning AEGIS outside of it, being composed and serious at all times, keep the boy from simply acting like himself and being honest about how he actually feels. Facility 108 is a bit of a rescue, it's isolated, secure and gives him some freedom, still, opening up completely after so long is extremely hard and needs work...lots of it.
- Social Inexperience: The law of Risk and Profit can prove very useful to acquire business partners, but what the boy longs for it's not having his social circle filled with lawyers and bankers like his parents, he just wants to make some friends. The question is always how. When his actions can't seem to match his feelings, Kendrick falls in the dilemma of not knowing the right things to do when dealing with others his age. It's not like there's a holy 'rulebook of socializing' around that can solve all of the problems. People are a lot more complex to understand and deal with.
  In times like these, his habit to over-rationalize and analyze everything becomes more of a nuisance, and the out of place formality just seems to add points to the awkward factor. You're also not supposed to buy people's forgiveness with objects, nor food. Also, for some reason, apologizing is just extremely hard!
- Music, yes. Languages? Ehhh no... Despite picking on music theory with ease, other languages seem to not have the same luck. Having been exposed to them, Kendrick can try identifying the languages by the phonemes they have, often being successful in such a thing, but actually learning another language seems to be extremely hard for the boy. His parents decided to move on to more important things after nearly 2 years of French and Mandarin weren't showing any prospect. Maybe if they had insisted on it he could have started picking these later on, but you know stingy rich people, they don't enjoy wasting their time, or their money.
- Water Depths of Doom: Kendrick can't swim. It's pretty embarrassing, but since learning how to swim isn't important when you're being indoctrinated to inherit your family's company in the near future, Kendrick has never had any swimming lessons or had actually been in a pool or the like before the exam. This will always be a rather awkward thing to admit and he'd gladly avoid doing so, as much as possible.
- Misguided Sense of Justice and Superiority: Having strict morals is a good thing normally, but when your terrible example of a human being dad is the one to teach you said morals, it becomes more of a problem. Kendrick grew up seeing things black and white, from the perspective of the wealthy and has been slowly realizing that the world isn't set up the way he was taught to believe it was in the past three years. The teenager truly despises those 'morals' and has been trying to be more humble and understanding with others.
  However, since his father is the type to not only abide by the 'An eye for an eye' saying, but also rip an arm along, just to make sure he won't be bothered again, sometimes the teenager's anger and/or pride manage to get the best of him, normally ending pretty bad if allowed to just 'follow it's course'. The 'need' for payback entwines with a sense of Superiority and in a 'blinding' contempt culminate in the wish of seeing the 'culprit' not only admitting to having done wrong, but utmost humiliated, begging for forgiveness, accepting how worthless and undeserving of his mercy they truly are. It's some sort of sadistic empowerment that makes Kendrick hate himself at every new occurrence.
- "They're NOT Just Things!" Yep, the toys are not alive, but confronting Kendrick about that will just make him angry at people. He knows that already, however, admitting that fact will make it real, and making it real will only bring to the surface how truly lonely he is. This is his coping mechanism, let him have that.
  At the same time, treating his toys as just objects without taking into account proper care and etc is the worst way possible to push the boy's buttons. The lengths he will go to get his friends back to safety again are gigantic, and his reactions on the matter rather unpredictable, even seemingly 'out of character'.
Toys: [Weapons]
As much as a habit as it is a necessity, hidden inside a backpack or simply following him around, the teen brings a couple of his friends along no matter where he goes. To avoid picking favorites and risk weakening the bond he has with them, the boy has set up a rotation system to track who came along, to where and when.
Ted is always a given though, even when under strict parental vigilance. There's absolutely no way Kendrick can leave the house without it.

A Brief Run-out of their Capabilities under Kendrick's Ability Influence, Separated by Type

Plushes:
Huggable, lovable, soft and as expected, not very good for damage. A plush's attack is more startling than anything and the equivalent of having someone wearing cotton filled gloves or slippers punch/kick you. However, since they're all squishy and soft they make a good line of defence against close combat (unless you're dealing with cutting/piercing weapons, that's dangerous) and, oh! did I mention having a plush suddenly attack you is weird?
The bigger plushes aren't very stealthy and certainly don't blend in the background very well. Another thing to pay attention to is the amount of effort and pressure over seam intersections, especially the spots were the limbs or neck are connected to the body. Putting too much effort can cause the thread to snap and open a hole from where the stuffing cotton can fall out of. Once they lose enough stuffing to become unable to move, they 'die'.

Miniatures:
As the category suggests, these are small versions of things from reality, more specifically vehicles. There are cars, trucks, trains even airplanes and they're made of various materials, usually plastic or a metal. Some of them can shoot little projectiles that are more annoying than hurtful, depending on the size. Having one of these build momentum and crash into someone though is bound to hurt, especially if they're the metal ones. Watch your feet!
Plastic can hold out against knives and the sort better than the plushes, but they don't stand a chance against guns or any kind strong hit. The thinner and weaker the plastic, the faster it can break. Metal can take a shot better. Granted, it might bend the surface, there's no leaving without damage, but hey! It works! ...Kinda.

Figures:
Kind of an ample category, but making a contrast with miniatures, it is the portrayal of people or animals that were meant to be toys in the first place. Most figures, as well as plushes, are ideal for sharing vision with, however, they're far better than their 'fluffy cousins' when it comes to stealth because they're easier to take for decoration. Really, would you ever suspect that a cute little plastic kitten on top of the shelf is actually spying on you?
By themselves, most figures are nothing but a nuisance, certainly great to plot distractions while something else is happening. Having five of these at once though could be rather intimidating depending on the foe. These are normally made of plastic, sturdier than the plastic toy cars are made of, but still plastic meaning they can't take much damage. One shot could be taken fairly well, but certainly not a second one. If they're made of wood though, they might have a better chance at defence.

Others:
The category of those that don't fit in (Kidding!). It goes from things that weren't supposed to be seen as toys, like Kefir the metal lion, to board games and pastime toys, like the Chess set or Spiral the Slinky.
Proficiencies and deficiencies change for every toy in this category, being able to even culminate on completely new functions.

Obviously, it's less depressive than this, but I do think this applies to Kendrick and his lifestyle in several lines.

Vape is first and foremost a heroine. She is well-known for her 'no-kill' approach to criminals, mainly due to the fact that most wrong-doers are incapable of doing her significant harm. Because of this, Vape is more likely to take prisoners than kill enemies, even if the former is more problematic and less expedient.

Dedicated
Vape is a firm believer in 'If a job needs doing, then do it well.'. She feels no concern about devoting extra time to a project, even to her own detriment long-term.

Workaholic
For all her dedication, Vape has a deep need to keep busy. Doesn't matter if it's fighting crime, caring for her mother or even redecorating the run-down apartment she recently started renting, she just can't switch off.

Vindictive
Despite being a 'no-kill' heroine, Vape does not reserve any sympathy for her enemies. While she might not kill criminals, she's not averse to severely injuring them. She knows several martial arts styles which, when coupled with the extreme mobility gifted by her powers, can result in limb dislocations, multiple broken ribs, torn muscles and ripped ligaments. A crippled criminal is one unlikely to re-offend.

History
Jessica's powers did not become apparent until her mid-teens, during a period of 'experimentation' with a certain herbal intoxicant which is burnt and inhaled (if you know what I mean). During the high, Jessica thought she felt her body evaporate and mingle with the clouds she and her friends were filling the room with. Of course, the shrieks of horror and confusion quickly brought her down, both mentally and physically as she stopped being a cloud of marijuana smoke and crashed to the floor from somewhere near the ceiling. What followed was a hurried introduction to the Commonwealth, courtesy of her father, implantation of a Limiter chip and induction into Facility 108 as a student.

Her time in 108 was enough to light a new fire inside her and she struck out for her Blue Card with vigor. She wanted to use her powers to fight crime and restore the rule of justice to the streets of her home city. As such, she studied extensively into criminal law, enough that she could have taken the bar exam if so she chose. But her career choice was not to prosecute criminals in court, but to track and catch them while they were at liberty and it was a career she quickly made a name for herself in. She was instrumental in shutting down an opium-smuggling ring, by the simple expedient of mingling with the ever-present smoke in one of the ring's opium dens and learning where and when their shipments were due to arrive. She encountered and defeated the criminal hitman Black Bullet when none of his special ammunition could affect her. She fought many battles against Blazer, the arch-arsonist, before his believed death in a building collapse.

Most recently, she'd been a regular member on the roster of the New York Warriors, a band of Supers operating within The Big Apple. The Warriors were simultaneously a crime-fighting team and a PR front for the Commonwealth in support of well-regulated Supers in society. They perform both jobs exceptionally well, their public appearances well-orchestrated by their Commonwealth handlers and their lawful ending of criminal activity well-documented by the mainstream media. It was only when Vape received word about her mother's declining mental health did she make the decision to sadly resign from the Warriors and return to Baltimore.

Now, Vape splits her time between her Vigilante duties, caring for her mother, and seeking to join the teaching staff of Facility 108 in the hopes she can pass on some nuggets of good advice and inspiration to the next generation of Supers.

Physical Transformation (Gaseous Forms)
Vape's power is the ability to change her physical form into into an equivalent mass of any gaseous or vaporous material she has been exposed to. This transformation extends only to herself and her immediate possessions, not to larger items or other people.
- Gas Assimilation: Vape is able to process, internalize and assume the form of any gaseous or vaporous material she comes into contact with. As an aside, this makes her functionally immune to any gas, vapor or aerosol chemicals.
- Gas Manipulation: Vape is fully capable of moving the molecules of her gaseous form, even in environments where prevailing air currents would oppose her. She can move in opposition to most standard wind speeds, fans, air recyclers and light vacuums. Her only limitation is that her movement speeds would be significantly slower than her corporeal foot speed. She can additionally manipulate gases and vapors in her immediate vicinity that are not part of her gaseous form, both while in gas or corporeal form.
Limitations
- Violent Dissipation: If subjected to high-velocity wind patterns or if she is forced to spread her gaseous form out too thinly, Vape will immediately regain physical form. The violence of this forced reconstitution is know to knock her unconscious for anything from a minute up to an hour, depending on the cause of the reconstitution. This is also the result if she became a flammable gas, such as gasoline vapor, which was then ignited. In the case of ignition, she may also suffer burns over a significant area of her body.
- Poisonous Feedback: If Vape takes a form which is toxic or dangerous to human life, when she regains physical form, she often finds herself weakened and debilitated, even to the point of not being able to assume a gas form. The severity of this depends on the type of toxic gas formed and the duration.
- Carer: Jessica has a reason for returning to her home town of Baltimore, her mother Rebecca. Rebecca has early-onset dementia and this has become progressively worse to the point that she had to be admitted to a care facility. This was compounded by her father, James, divorcing Rebecca and all but severing all ties with his ex-wife. Now, Jessica has all but abandoned her life as a Vigilante in New York City to return to Baltimore to offer her mother as much support as she can. She also has beef with her father she has yet to deal with.

Wolf is an extremely lax individual -- even the most stressful of situations seem to only raise an eyebrow from the girl, and she is extremely capable of keeping her head in a pickle.

Wolf's calm aura makes her extremely approachable and easy to talk too. Though she won't be the first to initiate conversation often, if you strike up something in common with her Wolf is extremely pleasant and friendly.

Wolf grew up learning how to hide her emotions, and now if anyone ever asks her anything personal, she changes the topic flawlessly, and is honestly not quite sure how to open up at all, even to people she might trust with her life.

History
Born to a pair of workaholic parents that never quite planned to have a child in the first place, Wolf spent her days in the care of numerous nannies, tutors, and other people that weren't really her family but were paid to be. No one ever quite cared to listen to Wolf, not that it mattered, she learned very quickly on it was best to keep her feelings to herself. Since no one ever pushed her to achieve any goals, Wolf slacked off in school and found more pleasure in doodling on her class notes and jamming to tunes while the science teacher droned on much more pleasurable than doing.. meh. Whatever he was teaching. Because of this, Wolf was labelled as a "rebellious" student, when she blatantly couldn't care less.

There were always little hints of her having a power from a very young age, even though most powers only showed through at puberty. When she was eleven Wolf had already begun to understand something was different about her. She would skip school just to stay home and giggle at the fact that she could quite easily stretch her wrist to reach the glass of water on her nightstand from her desk, or try to make herself a sandwich without ever entering the kitchen. Because Wolf could handle herself rather well from an early age, most of the nannies her parents hired hardly paid attention to her, and Wolf never ratted them out. She could do what she wanted, no one would bother her, and the nanny would get to watch her soap operas. Win-win.

That was, until the nanny finally did her job and walked in on Wolf, flat as the rug. That was when things started to change. Her parents flipped -- how were they supposed to handle their freak of a daughter? How does anyone handle such a strange... such a strange.. well, whatever she was, the best solution was to throw her into the hands of someone much, much more capable. Her parents couldn't handle a child even when she was "normal", when her powers came to light they did their best to wipe her from their memories. If ever asked about her parents, Wolf likes to say she can't quite picture their faces and leave it at that. Most think they are dead because of this, which Wolf doesn't seem to care to correct them.

For two years Wolf and all her "problems" were shoved into the cupboard and she was not to practice her abilities under any circumstances. That was, until Aegis Facility 108 was built. Wolf was hurried off to the facility as quick as could be, becoming one of it's first students. Wolf thought it'd be just another class to be seated in, that she wouldn't ever get to use her powers, not even here, but boy was she wrong. Her time at Facility 108 was the best of her life, and no one had ever seen Wolf excited about anything, really. Though her parents kept their distance from the girl, Wolf found their distaste of her bearable as long as she could continue to spend time at 108. Her control over her powers only got better, and she held a Blue Card at 18. That was supposed to be the time Wolf put effort into her vigilante career or something of the sort, but she quickly realized she did not want to leave Facility 108.

So Wolf applied for a Teachers Assistant job, her parents were glad to supply her with the money to buy her own apartment and usher her out of the house, and life begun anew.
Kendrick Haywood
A long time friend that Wolf made at AEGIS, she and the boy have become very close and developed a sibling-like bond. Wolf seems to show a considerable amount of emotion around him, one she does not often show, and seems to trust him a great deal. He has been loaned Mr. Wolf on multiple occasions.
Extreme Elasticity
Contrary to popular belief, Wolf's powers have nothing to do with animals. Wolf has the ability to stretch her body her body beyond humanly possible into any shape or form. Basically, Wolf is extremely malleable and elastic. allowing her to deform, expand, contract, and flatten her whole body. After practice, Wolf has mastered the ability to pick and choose which part of her body to control, as well as shape body parts into more intricate things, such as key shapes or the like. Wolf's elasticity makes her harder to injure, but she still feels pain. There is also a limit to how far and how long or often she can stretch her body. When Wolf "lets go" of her stretched form, her limbs will snap back to original form in a matter of seconds.
- Elastic Organs: By expanding her organs, Wolf can enhance some of her day-to-day functions. Such as expanding her lungs to be able to blow vast amounts of air or last longer under water, or perhaps expanding the stomach to be able to consume more fluids and foods.
- Enhanced Durability: Because she is practically made of rubber, attacks tend to bounce off of Wolf more easily as well as her body stretching to reduce the damage.
Limitations
- Can't Hold On Forever: Wolf can't hold up a stretched form for hours upon hours. A simple stretch of the arm she can hold for a good half an hour, but full-body stretches or complex shapes might be up to two minutes max.
- That's Too Far! While Wolf is extremely flexible, she can only stretch so far. Stretching past her limits could permanently damage her body. Wolf can reach up to fifty yards safely. Going past thirty yards will lessen the density of her tissue and strength. If she stretches beyond her limits of 50 yards, Wolf might be stuck in that elongated shape until her body manages to recover, and perhaps even permanently if she really pushed her limits.
- Ow, that's sharp! While attacks like punches and kicks might be lessened against her elastic body, knives and blades will slice through her easier.

He looks like he works out, but mostly body weight stuff and calisthenics. He has the body of a really toned runner, but hides it underneath well tailored suits and other socially acceptable clothing. He by no means appears rich, or arrogant, or stand-offish. He simple respects his appearance enough to wear proper attire. He is also rarely seen without sunglasses.
Friendly
Quinten is a great guy. He’s kind, he loves to hold conversations, he’s funny, and just overall a friendly person. He has no issue talking to people, and doesn’t discriminate no matter who you are. He sees the best in people, most of the time, and as such tries to make friends wherever he may go.

Disciplined
Quinten is remarkably disciplined despite his friendly and outgoing nature, and very careful about his own schedule. While this is good for making sure he stays in shape, gets places on time, stays healthy, and maintains his job, this also can get in the way of more deep social interaction, as well as causing him to be a bit of a creature of habit.

Secretive
While he is outgoing and loves to talk to people, Quinten rarely delves into his own personal life, and it becomes clear very quickly that it isn’t something he enjoys discussing. Whether for fear of people turning away from him, or some other, less obvious reason, Quinten refuses to talk about his past and personal life, however, this also makes him a very good person to come to with problems you don’t want others to know about.

Reckless

History
Quinten was born and raised in a small town in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska, and had a relatively quiet life. Even when he discovered his power, it wasn’t something that was particularly obvious, so he had no trouble fitting. However, shortly after he got into high school, there was a mandatory test of all of the students, and he was discovered to have abilities. He was one of only a few members of this small town to have them, and he and his fellows were discriminated against and feared, no matter how many times it was explained to them that the children didn’t have particularly harmful abilities, and most were internally based, except for one boy, Allan, who could create small holes in space where he stored things. After graduating from high school, the four of them (Allan, Quinten, Elias, and Sarah), left the town in order to escape the discrimination.

It was upon completion of his secondary test to determine the strength of his powers and receive his limiter that he was approached by-

Enhanced Vision
Quinten’s power involves enhancing his vision in various forms. The various forms are as follows:
- Magnified Vision: Quinten can magnify his vision, similarly to a telescope or pair of binoculars. This magnification goes about as high as average binoculars, allowing him to magnify things up to 10x. His eyes take on a sort or glass-like appearance, and his pupils become very small, almost pinpoints.[/SIZE]
- Night Vision: As you can probably infer, night vision involves the ability to see in darkness, similarly to the way night vision goggles work. When using this, Quinten’s irises become a greenish-yellow, and his pupils change shape to a more slit-like configuration, similar to a cat.[/SIZE]
- Infrared Vision: Quentin is able to detect the various heat signatures of the things he can see, determining their relative heat, and track things by the heat signatures left behind, but only allowing vision of the heat. His irises become a red color, similar to infrared.[/SIZE]
- CLASSIFIED
- Slightly Heightened Mental Processing: Quinten, due to the various different types of visual information he needs to be able to process, has developed mental processing that is mildly faster than that of the average person. This has been further worked on during his time as )!(*@))*&!)))&((!&!)*##%^@ERROR! FILE ENCRYPTED, and as such can process visual information at just under 1.5x the rate of the average human.
Limitations
- Weakness 1: Magnified Vision- Similarly to when one is using binoculars, the magnified vision gives Quinten tunnel vision, reducing his peripheral vision drastically the more he “zooms in” on something else.
  Weakness 2: Night Vision- As with wearing night vision goggles, Quentin is particularly sensitive to light when in this state, and particularly bright light could temporarily blind him, as well as cause severe headaches.
  Weakness 3: Infrared Vision- Anything that is meant to hide or dampen heat signatures will also impede Quinten’s ability to see things with this. Additionally, extremely hot objects give off very bright heat signatures, which would act similarly to bright light in night vision, potentially temporarily blinding him and causing major headaches.
  Weakness 4: The different types of vision cannot be used in tandem with one another. They can only be used singularly, although they can be switched between relatively easily.
  Weakness 5: Quinten, even in a normal state of seeing, has difficulty with light, and is rarely seen without sunglasses, even on cloudy days. The only time he is without his sunglasses is at night.

Reasonable
No matter how she may actually be feeling, Morgan can always be counted on to provide the voice of reason in almost any situation, offering dispassionate, level-headed insight that’s usually, more or less sound, if a bit utilitarian. Even if she may rub some people the wrong way, even her worst enemies can’t deny Morgan’s ability to keep her cool and think rationally, for the most part, even while the world falls to pieces around her.

Blunt
Morgan tells it like it is. Whether it’s good, bad, or ugly, she’ll tell you, and she won’t hold back. She’ll tell you if your pantsuit makes you look fat, and won’t even bat an eye. She figures that people could all use a little more honesty, and if the truth hurts, well, that’s just not her problem.

Independent
Morgan wouldn’t describe herself as a “team player”. It’s not that she has any great dislike for other people, and has no qualms about making friends with just about anyone. She just likes to do what she wants, when she wants to. If she wants to read quietly in her room, or go for a hike, or eat ten big mac cheese burgers consecutively, you best believe that’s what she’s going to do. Woe to the poor bastard who tries to tell her what she can, and cannot do.

Emotionally Distant
With the crux of her power being rooted in, and affected by her emotional state, Morgan has learned the hard way not to let emotions rule her. But, in her efforts to achieve control, she may have gone too far by shutting herself off completely from feeling anything. It makes intimacy with another human being nearly impossible, and the worst part is, in her emotionally deadened state, Morgan doesn’t seem to care.

History
Born to two average parents in a small town just outside of Kansas City, Morgan Ashley lived a perfectly quaint, unassuming life, until the month leading up to her thirteenth birthday. Earlier that year, Morgan’s grandmother passed away, or so Morgan thought, until a day came when, coming home from school, Morgan found her gran sitting at their kitchen table, knitting another scarf, or blanket, or something else nice, for her grandchildren. Morgan’s mother didn’t believe her when she tried to tell her how her deceased grandmother had come to visit, instead chalking it up to grief-induced hallucinations. But when her mother saw gran with her own eyes, sitting in the chair she used to for all those years, she fainted from fear at having seen the dead rise from her grave. When Morgan's mother recovered, and Morgan told her how she could make grandma appear whenever she wanted, the terrified woman called Morgan's father home from work and together they brought their daughter in to be tested.

From the moment they found out she possessed abilities, the news spread like wildfire. It became the hot gossip of the town for the next month. Rather than shun her or bully her—as she’d heard was commonplace and pretty much expected for others of her kind—the townspeople practically adored her. By the end of the week, nearly every citizen of West Bumblefuck, Kansas had made at least one pilgrimage to the Neverlin residence to see her power in action. Everybody had dead people, it seemed. People they’d lost, like her gran. Most of them would give just about anything to see them, or speak to them again. Medium Morgan Neverlin only accepted cash, however. All she required was a picture of the deceased, and Morgan could create a copy that appeared as life-like as the real thing. Most of the townsfolk were shocked, awed and above all pleased with her show thus far. But eventually the appeal faded when they realized that she couldn't actually bring anyone back from the dead, and her little parlor trick amounted to little more than a hollow reminder of the emptiness left behind when a close friend or relative passes.

This continued on for some time, as her customers slowly dwindled. Despite her waning success, Morgan didn’t complain, because she was getting paid, and better yet, she wasn’t having eggs thrown at her house. Nobody had left a flaming cross on their lawn so far; that had to count for something. And yet, though nobody could tell, or seemed to really care, something within their beloved sideshow freak had changed. She’d started to eat less, and smiled even less than she ate. Eventually, there came a day when nobody came to her door. Left embittered by her so-called gifts and estranged from her family, Morgan decided one day that she’d had enough. With the money she’d made, she booked herself a one-way plane ticket east. She found a small apartment in downtown Baltimore, dyed her hair, got a few piercings, and hauled ass to the gates of the nearest AEGIS Training Facility, 108, in search of a new life. A better life.
Cindy Neverlin
Mother, estranged. Morgan hasn’t seen, or spoken to her mother since the day she moved out. Their relationship became strained, to say the least, the day she discovered her daughter’s “gifts”.

Father, estranged. Perhaps the only person Morgan actually misses from her old life in Kansas. She tries not to think about him much. It’d just make her sad.

Younger Brother, estranged. Annoying. Was, and probably still is, jealous that his sister got the super hero gene, even though he would never actually admit it.
Psionic Energy Manipulation
Morgan’s powers revolve around her ability to generate psionic energy with her mind, and subsequently manipulate it to create physical manifestations of her psychic power, taking any form she can think of, from simple geometric shapes of varying sizes, to barriers and psychokinetic weapons. But her favorite things to create are her ghosts, golems synthesized from pure psionic energy. The ghosts are semi-sentient, taking orders from Morgan telepathically, and are capable of taking on various forms, from almost human to downright otherworldly.
- Psychokinesis: In addition to her psionic constructs, Morgan has access to, arguably, one of the most basic psionic abilities, psychokinesis. Although, her prowess with this ability pales in comparison to her constructs, it allows her to levitate, granting a convenient means of travel, and offering a relatively reliable means of escape in dire situations.
- Closed-Circuit Eyes: Morgan shares vision with the constructs she creates. This makes her constructs powerful tools of espionage and reconnaissance, since everything they see, she sees.
Limitations
- Mass Balance: Whether she wills into creation a swarm of gnats or a single golem, Morgan’s powers are limited by the simple property of mass. Her total constructs active at a single time cannot exceed a certain mass threshold. It doesn’t matter if all of that mass is stuffed into one package or one hundred, so long as she remains below the threshold, she won’t run the risk of overexerting herself, or worse, losing control of her brood. At her current strength, Morgan cannot exceed a total mass ten times that of her own person.
- Concentrate your Efforts: If controlling multiple independent entities at once and in concert with one another sounds easy, you’re probably a super genius, and wouldn’t break a sweat at the prospect. Morgan is smart, but she’s not super genius smart, and she has to pour a whole helluva lot of her brain’s computational and spatial perceptions to work to just keep everything running moderately smoothly. The downside of having to focus all of her attention on her creations? She has to remain totally—or, at least mostly—stationary while she’s at it. Nothing screams easy target like a target that’s standing still.
- Unstable Manifestation: In addition to being limited in the sheer amount of psionic mass she can move, Morgan also has to be wary that she doesn’t get too attached to any one manifestation, since they’ve already started deteriorating from the moment they’re created. A large, singular manifestation deteriorates more rapidly than smaller ones. Fifteen minutes, at maximum mass, is the longest any one construct can remain functioning in the physical plane. Of course, Morgan can create another, but then she’d run the risk of exhausting her stores of Psionic Energy.
- Stay close to Mommy: Morgan’s psychic constructs can operate at greater distances away from her based on how much mass they contain. Smaller constructs can maintain their form and their directives exponentially longer than the larger constructs can. The largest constructs, with maximum masses, cannot exceed a range of thirty feet away from Morgan at any given time or will destabilize and dissipate, whereas the smallest can operate without destabilizing up to five hundred feet away.
- Simple Geometry: Morgan's simple constructs are just that, simple. She cannot create anything more complex than simple three-dimensional figures, such as cubes, rectangular prisms, etc. Also, she cannot create any inanimate construct with any movable parts or otherwise machinery of any kind.
- A Rolling Golem...: Once created, her animate constructs retain the portion of psionic energy consumed in their creation to perform their various tasks. Golems given more taxing tasks will deplete their stores of psionic energy faster than those given simpler tasks. The faster the psionic energy is depleted, the faster the golem will dissipate.
- Eldritch Predilection: Where her semi-sentient constructs are concerned, Morgan cannot (or will not?) create a construct based off any known species in this world. Instead, she can create just about any 'arcane' entity, within the constraints of her power from bugbears to hobgoblins to kobolds, and anything in between. When her powers first developed, Morgan could create constructs with a human appearance. However, these constructs were immaterial, and incapable of taking action. Thus, seeing no use for them, she has forgotten the art of creating 'ghosts' of humans.

Friendly
Janus is rather friendly, sociable, and tries to get along well with most people he meets. While perhaps not naive, he's willing to participate in a conversation with just about anyone. He does his best to consider the feelings of the people around him, not step on any toes, and will go out of his way to try to be a genuinely decent person. In fact, he tends to end up feeling at least somewhat responsible for his friends.

Façade
Tough, confident, sure of himself, with everything got together. Those are words that would make Janus happy if people used them to describe him, despite how inaccurate they are. He puts up a front of these things to the best of his ability, in hopes that other people will view him as his façade. Being seen as weak, silly, or useless would be a nightmare.

Private
In order to keep up his good looks, Janus is a very private person. While willing to talk to about anyone, he is not willing to talk about anything. His feelings are off-limits, and Janus quickly becomes uncomfortable when anyone tries to prod. Vulnerability makes him even more nervous, which makes it difficult for him to make anything but surface relationships. Janus can't deal with his own feelings properly.

Neurotic
The reality is that Janus is an emotional and rather nervous person. He's unsure about what his potential really is, has low self-esteem, worries about his future career, and even more what other people think of him. Despite his altruism, with a strong self-preservation instinct when push comes to shove, he'd rather stay alive rather than sacrifice himself for any teammates or stranger. The fact that he has a "weak"/non-combat power feeds into his insecurities and leads to potential jealousy of other supers.

Although he relies on anxiety medication, he never recieved a perscreption bcause of his unwillingness to talk about it with his parents.

History
August Finch and John Lift had been students at facility 108, and done very well in their studies. They met while going through their training and hit it off well, ended up dating, and eventually got married. Both went on to become vigilantes and managed to successfully make it their life hobby with sponsors, good PR, great combat prowess, and flashy moves- August could breathe fire, and John had a basic strength-enhancing and a supportive self-healing power.

When August was pregnant with her first child, she and John made the decision to move to the calmer Mid-west where John spent his own childhood. There she gave birth to and raised Pierce Finch.

Pierce gained his powers a few years earlier than most and discovered his bone-manipulation abilities after taking a nasty fall from a tree and mending the insides of his own arm.

Delighted to have a son who could follow in their footsteps, August and John began training Pierce in basic combat and helping him learn and understand his extra-natural abilities.

He learned quickly, and they planned to send him off to the same facility they went to once he hit high-school age and could live in the apartments without them.

August became pregnant with Janus when Pierce was in 5th grade. Their second child had a normal childhood, and didn't show any sort of signs of having a power. Impressed by Pierce and his abilities, Janus looked up to his much older brother and wished for his own.

When Janus was 7, his sisters Mary and Marie were added to the family.

Fraternal twins were unexpected, and Janus was expected to help out with them. Pierce had already moved to Baltimore, so Janus was also to fulfill the responsible older brother role while his parents kept their focus on Pierce's progress. Six years later and the twins suddenly were identical- both of them had manifested minor shape-shifting abilities. Once again, August and John were delighted.

As the two grew older they also went through very simple training, another thing added to the list of "things Janus helps with." Over in Baltimore, Pierce was doing wonderfully having earned his blue card and keeping the tradition of doing vigilante work, starting to make a name for himself and keeping the bar as high as August and John had set it.

Age 15, Janus finally got his wish. Gradually he began to notice more and more smells, being able to tell when it would rain soon with accuracy, complaining about family members skipping a day showering, predicting when someone would fall sick and more and more not being able to stand strongly flavored food, and then perfume, getting headaches from smells that seemed pleasant to everyone else. With the fact that something was wrong was so obvious, but his parents unsure as to what (as they had assumed 1. Janus did not have powers and if he gained them theyd be 2. somewhat similar to the rest of their families), he was taken to the doctor and confirmed to have hyperosmia. His limiter was built for his own day-to-day functioning, and his parents tried to console him about not having a future as a hero like his idol Pierce.

Still not wanting to disappoint his parents and despite their discouragement of him even attempting and disappointing himself too, Janus requested to go to the facility both his parents, older brother, and someday sisters would go to. Armed with very basic hand-to-hand combat he learned with his sisters and the knowledge of guns he gained from hunting with his family, Janus headed off to Baltimore to (attempt to) follow in the heroes' footsteps.
