Act 1

Shandragontear

Shark Whisperer
(Post starts in the Archipelagos but end in Storybrooke, so I'm just putting it here.)

The wind rustling through her blonde braids was more of a relief then Astrid had expected it to be. She'd missed just soaring through the clouds, watching the waves rush by below them. Though simple patrols such as this weren't always the most exciting thing it was a welcomed break from the chaos on Berk. When she'd agreed to marry Hiccup, the realization that she'd also be marrying the Chief of Berk hadn't really sunk in. Having grown to know Hiccup while training dragons and searching for new species of them his title had never really been a big deal to her. However it was clearly a big deal to the rest of Berk. Everywhere she went in the small village other vikings would bombard her with question, things like the wedding decor, what would she wear, asking if she were nervous. The usual questions one would expect of friends and family, but the whole village! She defiantly needed some time away.

When these patrols grew to boring Astrid and Stormfly would practice some of their aerial acrobatic, but Astrid simply felt too mentally exhausted to focus on such things. Instead she just surveyed the waters out on the horizon, watching for any potentially invading ships. Fortunately none of the other viking clans in the Archipelagos had dared to raid Berk in a few years. Some had already learned their lesson the hard way. So she didn't actually expect to find anyone, maybe a trade ship or two at most. This fact made it all the more startling when Astrid suddenly spotted not just one, but several ships over the horizon.

A bit alarmed Astrid sank low in her saddle, pressing herself against Stormfly's back in hopes the deadly nadder would appear riderless. "Let's get a closer look girl." She instructed her dragon. Stormfly responded with a happy squawk before flapping her wings a bit stronger to pick up speed. Glancing up Astrid noticed dark clouds moving in, they'd have to make this quick if they were going to beat the storm.

Reaching the armada of ships several savage warrior called out warnings to the other ships seeing the dragon over head. Astrid studied the cargo on the decks as they passed overhead. They looked to be dragon hunter's, defiantly not someone Astrid or Stormfly wanted to spend too much time with. About to instruct Stormfly to get above the brewing storm and had for Berk something caught her eye. On the deck of one of the larger ships were several cages with dragons already trapped in them. A sly, almost playful grin crossed her lips as the rain began to fall. "Think you can blast those cages open before the storm gets too bad?" She asked, leaning down to speak closer to Stormfly's ear.

Responding in her usual upbeat squawk Strormfly dove for the ship. A blast of red hot magnesium readied in her throat as she waited to get within range before firing a blast at the lock of each cage. As a few dragons flew free they banked around to make another pass at the ship. At the same time the other ships around them readied grappling hooks firing off several at once. "Stormfly tail spikes!" Astride shouted, her dragon responding by flinging the spikes off her tail to knock the grappling hooks off course. Unfortunately one missed and managed to wrap around her foot.

As the storm began to pick up the waves tossed the boats about, which would of made escaping easier if the wind wasn't tossing Stomfly around as well. Not wanting to waste anymore time, Astrid slipped from the saddle, sliding down Stormfly's outer thigh before catching herself on the dragon's ankle. Hanging there by one arm the skilled shield maiden drew her battle ax with the other, using it to hack through the chain that was keeping her dragon tethered to the ship. "Get above the storm!" Astrid shouted as she began to climb back up towards Stormfly's back.

Despite the wind and rain thrashing against her Astrid somehow made it back into the saddle. "We have to make it back to Berk!" She called to her pet, Stormfly's wings fighting against the wind as it blew them further and further in the wrong direction.

The rest was too much chaos for Astrid to even remember clearly, even blacking out at one point as they battled against the storm. When Astrid came to again the storm seemed to be calming, but something was still amiss. As her senses recovered she quickly realized she was falling through the air. Instinctively looking for Stormfly her blue eyed caught sight of the dragon crashing into a wooded area off in the distance. Quickly assessing her own situation Astrid realized there was water below her. Straightening herself out as she fell the skilled viking dove seamlessly into the waters just off the coast of a sleepy little town unlike anything she'd ever seen on Berk.

Despite the weight of her armor the powerful shield maiden managed to kick her way up to the surface. After a quick gasp for air she looked to the show, noticing strange docks and boats made of materials she'd never seen before. Boy would Hiccup have a field day with this. Speaking of Hiccup, she had to get back to Berk and warn them of the approaching ships. Without another thought Astrid took off, swimming for shore, hopping to find Stormfly before anyone else did.

It's been about a week. Which is longer than Eragon would like, but he needed to test if his own magic could locate Saphira, which sadly it could not. He'd tried Draumr kópa, a scrying spell, but without his sword or his dragon, he was powerful enough to see across realms. Especially as he hasn't been actively practising magic for nearly 30 years. So he's had to come here, to see Rumplestiltskin, the man with a solution to everything, but it always comes at a price. He just hopes his isn't anything too steep.

He walks into Rumplestiltskin's store quite confidently. He's not as scared of the man as most of the town. It could because he's had no real experience with him before, and as far as he's concerned the man can't be any worse than the people he's fought in the past. He listens to the jingle of the bell on the door with a smile on his face. It's nice to hear things clearly and sharply again after 28 years, the curse had smothered his elf side, and though he had no idea what he was missing, it's great to have it back now. He doesn't know how long it will last, but for now he's just enjoying little things, whether it's sight, sounds, smells, tastes or even the feel of certain objects.

He paces around the shop for a minute, not bothering to talk, he catches a glance of himself in the mirror, and after remembering how his features have changed again, sharp now and pointy ears, he pulls his hood to hide his face slightly. He then refocuses his eyes, searching for blue, scanning until he manages to spot what he wants, his sword. Brisingr. He nearly mutters the name aloud, but manages to stop himself. He grabs both the blade and the scabbard, inspecting both, although there's no reason they should be damaged, unless the man running the shop took a huge interest in them, and even then he expects they would be left undamaged. He holds the sword for a moment, just feeling how it moves, before placing it within the scabbard, deciding safety is probably important. Although he'd never accidentally injure himself with it, he's not an amateur.

"This is mine. I need to buy it. " He states calmly, before continuing his request, "I also need to find someone." Before the man can direct him outside to where Archie Hopper is still helping the occasional people with lost relatives, he continues, "She's not here. She's in a different realm. I just need to talk to her and she can get here herself." He doesn't explain how she's going to get here herself, just giving the bare minimum amount of information. He also avoids mentioning who he is.

Surprisingly even with a dragon, keeping a low profile in the enchanted forest wasn't an issue, and therefore Rumplestiltskin can't know who he is already. He'd prefer to keep it that way. If nobody knows who he is then they don't know he has magic, and if they don't know he has magic then they won't target him for it. Not that he honestly believes anyone could harm him hugely. "I know you make deals. I want the sword and to find her. What do you want?" The price of magic doesn't tend to be money. He knows that from what he's heard of the man. He almost laughs when he realises he still hasn't let the other man get a word in edgeways. Maybe this is what Arya and Saphira mean when they say he's not great at socialising.

Before being found by the son she gave up for adoption Emma Swan had a long and difficult life, she was raised in an orphanage for the first few years before being through many different foster homes, whenever she thought she found the right one things would always change and she would be sent right back until one day she ran away and decided that the only person she needed was herself. At sixteen she got by from stealing and scamming people, eventually she met a man named Neil and together they had scams of their own until Emma was caught and served jail time. In that time she gave birth to a boy whom she gave up for adoption, flash forward to her adult years and she became a bounty hunter. Finding people was her special skill as they would call it, all was good until the son she gave up found her and started to tell her about Storybrooke and it's citizens. Emma did not believe a word he was saying, but she went with him to the town so she could bring him back to his mother.

Eventually Emma decided to stay in Storybrooke as the new sheriff, finally when the curse was broken Emma now believed that Henry was telling the truth all along. Fairy tales are real and she is living in one, her parents really were who Henry said they were. Now that it's broken Emma has to deal with everything, though it's not easy and albeit strange she is starting to adjust to this new life. Emma finally has the family she's always dreamed of, even though this one is a little strange.

Now that the curse is broken Emma is helping the others reconnect with their family members as well as her duties as the sheriff, though now it will be easy that she has her father by her side. Currently Emma is sitting in the station going through some files while taking some time off, this is still very strange to her and it will take a while before everything really makes sense.

--------

As Loki left the Forest he found himself wandering down a stone path and past a sign that read 'Welcome to Storybrooke,' he continued on down the path until he finally reached the town. The atmosphere was filled with different emotions, and it looked rather strange. Loki had no clue where he was, but there was just something about this strange new world that made him want to discover more, the young man continued on through the streets just observing everything. "Now this is a strange place, though why am I sensing magic?" He thought aloud, "I am going to have to investigate further." He added as he walked, though he was starting to get some looks due to the clothing he was wearing so he took the hint and used his magic to change his attire into that of a pair of black pants, a green t-shirt with a black leather jacket over top as well as black boots. Now he wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb.

When she finally reached the shore Astrid paused a moment to catch her breath. Swimming with armor on certainly wasn't easy, but fortunately vikings were built tougher then most people. A few of the locals on the docks gave the armor clad shield maiden some strange looks. Astride was quick to return the odd looks seeing the odd clothes they wore. As if this place wasn't strange enough. She started to ask what this strange place was till a pained roar from the forest drew her attention.

The roar clearly scared the people on the docks, most of whom ran off. Hopefully whoever they were running too wouldn't react to hastily and blindly send whatever army this place had to try and destroy them. It wasn't an uncommon scenario when bring a dragon to a strange land. Not willing to stick around and find out Astrid took off into the woods heading towards Stormfly's cries.

Finally catching up to her pet Astrid gasped at the scene before her. A panicked dragon thrashing and jerking to try and free her left wing from the fallen tree pinning it. In her pain and frustration Stormfly shot a few magnesium blasts at a few nearby trees. If someone saw Stormfly in her current state Astrid really couldn't blame them for assuming she was hostile. All the more reason to get her calmed down quickly.

"Stormfly!" She called running towards her pet without fear despite how the dragon was acting. Stormfly almost instantly calmed as Astrid ran up and hugged the dragon's nose. Once Stormfly was calm, Astrid moved around the large reptile to asses the damage. "Looks like we won't be flying back to Berk." She said with a heavy sigh. With Stormfly unable to fly they would have to find another way back to Berk, and quickly.

Taking a break from her work Emma decided to head over to Granny's, she got up from her chair and put on her leather jacket before walking out of the station and across the street. The town really did have a different feel to it, everyone was looking for their family members and some even found them. Emma was happy for them, she on the other hand was still wrapping her head around the fact that her parents are really who Henry said they were and the fact that they are the same age. Her thoughts were broken when she saw some people running, "dragon!" Some poor dock worker spoke as he ran for his life.

"Dragon?" Emma thought aloud, "well so much for taking a break..I guess I better go and see what it's all about," she sighed before heading over to the docks. When she arrived there she didn't see any dragon only a few very frightened workers, Emma walked over to them and got all their information. "So a girl dressed in armour just came from the ocean and this dragon flew into the woods?" She asked them and in return getting nods, "okay thank you.." She told them, Emma decided that she better check the forest to see if they were right about the dragon and the girl. Hell it's Storybrooke so anything is possible at this point, so Emma called David on the two way and asked for backup. "Well who better to slay a dragon than Prince Charming," Emma coiley spoke.

Once David came to her the two of them set off into the forest, they exchanged awkward small talk as they did so before stopping when they heard the cries of a dragon. Both parties stopped a little ways away, and both looked at each other when they saw the sight. "I thought people were suppose to run away from dragons," Emma carefully took another step forward against the advice of her father. "Hey there...I mean you know harm but your friend here gave some men quite a start."

---------

Loki kept exploring the town and he eventually came to a place called 'Granny's' and decided to enter it and when he did he got some looks, "uh hello.." Loki said looking at them all, "can anyone tell me where exactly am I? I mean one minute I was in the forest and the next minute I ended up in this strange land, where is this?" He asked.

Henry who was sitting at a booth looked up from his book, "Storybrooke..What part of the forest did you come from?" He asked curiously as he flipped through the pages seeing is how only fairy tale creatures can enter and leave.

"Asgardia," Loki responded. "How do you know about the forest?" Henry told Loki to sit down with him and he would explain everything.

Astrid's attention quickly snapped to the sound of approaching footsteps. In one fluid moment she turned while drawing her battle ax from her back, moving to a readied stance between her dragon and the two coming towards them. For a second the blonde viking studied the pair as the woman spoke. After a few seconds Astrid relaxed her stance though her ax remained in her hand hanging down at her side.

"Yeah, she's good at that." Astrid confirmed before turning her attention back to Stotmfly. Walking around to the dragon's pinned wrong Astrid patted the fallen tree with the side of her ax. "Flame shot." She instructed her pet while taking a step back. Turning her head the dragon shot a quick blast of fire at the spot Astrid had patted. Once the tree was half burnt Astrid gave a quick swing of her ax to chop it in half the rest of the way, careful not to hurt Stormfly any further in doing so. Kicking the smoldering remains of the tree off her dragon's wing the shield maiden went to work inspecting the injury.

"Defiantly broken..." She sighed running her hands along the bone that supported the membrane of the dragon's wing. "Your lucky you didn't tear it." She added while turning to collect a few branches to make a splint.

"I'm Astrid by the way." She introduced herself, finally returning her attention to the two strangers. "That's Stormfly." She added nodding towards her dragon. "I don't suppose you two could give me a hand with this?" She asked setting the branches down next to Stormfly before placing her hands back on the dragon's wing. "If we don't set the break it won't heal right."

"Emma Swan," Emma told her walking closer now so she could get a real look at this dragon before her. She looked over to David who still kept his distance but was close by in case his daughter needed him. Emma looked at Astrid, "I've never seen you in Storybrooke before. It's a small town so I'd remember if I saw someone dressed like a viking and of course a dragon, and believe me that's not the strangest thing this town has..Well okay maybe one of the many," she smiled before going to help her. "So where exactly do you come from?" She asked as she started to help fix the dragon's wing, "and her or she won't eat me will she? Or set fire to the town?"

"We got caught in a storm while out on patrol." Astrid explained. "It blew us off course and we ended up here." Letting Emma hold one side of the break as she grasped the other side. "Oh you don't have to worry about Stormfly, she's very well behaved." Astrid assured them before popping the bone back into place.

The sudden shock of pain caused Stormfly to screech and whip her tail, flinging several spikes into a nearby tree. Astrid cringed a little knowing that probably wasn't the best first impression. "Just don't startle her..." She added before moving to tie a few logs into a splint on the dragon's wing. Once done Astrid moved around the large reptile to scratch her chin. Stormfly's eyes closed for a second making an almost purring sounds at the affection. "You'll be ok girl." Astrid assured her pet.

"So where are we exactly? This place sure doesn't look like the Archipelagos..." She asked while moving to retrieve a map from one of the saddle bags on Stormfly's back. "We spotted an armada of dragon hunters heading for Berk. We need to get back in time to warn them."

"You are in Storybrooke, a small town in Maine. Umm there is a lot to explain to you, this town is different from any other world. Everyone here is from the Enchanted Forest, and well they are all fairy tale characters." Emma responded finishing up with what she was doing, "if you come with me I can explain it all. We can come back to your dragon later on as I'm sure you do not want to leave it here alone, we'll figure out a way to hide it," she smiled at her. Though she still couldn't believe she was seeing a real life dragon, "so how about it? We can get you something to eat as well as Stormfly..Grannies makes some pretty good food."

------

Loki finished his conversation with Henry and left Grannie's exploring the town some more, he too couldn't believe what he was hearing and seeing. Loki knew about all the stories that Henry told him about, his mother read them to him as a child. Though they weren't actually stories now were they? There is one person that Loki knew existed as everyone else did, Rumpelstiltskin. Loki remembered hearing that name from his father, that the man was a trickster far worse than anyone else. Taking a deep breath Loki just continued on down the streets taking in everything some more.

Astrid simply lifted a brow as Emma explained where they were. She'd never heard of Maine or Storybrooke. She did know of the Enchanted Forest though, it was where most of the other viking clans would go to raid and pillage. Fortunately Berk had never been quite that hostile.

"So the Enchanted Forest is about how far from here?" Surely if most of the people her were from the forest it couldn't be to far off, or so Astrid though.

Though Emma's offer to get something to eat was tempting, Astrid was far more focused on getting home. Not to mention she didn't want to leave Stormfly alone in a strange place. "We really should hurry back. With Stormfly's wing broken we might not beat the dragon hunters to Berk as it is..." Though she tried to maintain her though viking demeanor the worry was evident in Astrid's voice. "I just hope Hiccup and the others spot them while their out looking for me." She sighed. There was no doubt in her mind Hiccup would put together a search party when she didn't return. Hopefully the young chief would have enough sense to wait till after the storm though.

"Maybe Thore did us a favor and took the dragon hunters out with the storm..." She thought out loud with another hopeless sigh.

Jay--no, Jack; he was Jack--walked down the street.  Light glinted off the metal in his ears and nose and shone off his snowy hair.  He wore only a blue tank top and jeans, tattoos exposed to the Maine air, but he  didn't notice.  The cold never bothered him, anyway.

It was odd, reacquainting himself with Storybrooke, looking at it with the eyes of Jack Frost, harbinger of winter, rather than Jay Winters, local tattoo artist.  The fact that he could once again feel the beautiful chill of his magic flowing through his veins like icewater was a comfort, at least.  Oh how he itched to whip up a nice blizzard.  Directly on top of Regina's house.

So lost in thought he was, that he nearly collided with the striking-looking man with black hair.  "I beg your pardon," he said, then paused.  "Do I know you?"

(Tag Loki! @Chello)

Emma nodded, "well we can come right back here. We will figure out a way to get you back to your world," she assured her and led her back to where David was waiting. Emma introduced Astrid to him and vice versa before walking out of the forest and heading to Grannies, maybe Henry would have an idea in his book to help Astrid. "Now this world is different from your own, there are things here that I'm sure you have not seen so don't freak out." Emma told her, "and please don't attack anything..We are just trying to put our lives back together," along the way she started to explain to Astrid what Storybrooke was about.

-------

Loki turned around when he saw Jay, "uh I doubt that I am new to this place. And you should really watch where you are walking, " Loki growled before taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry I don't mean to be so hostile I've just had a rough couple of days, one minute I was in the forest and the next moment I arrive in this strange town which I learned was called Storybrooke and there are fairy tale characters here."

Jay smiled, teeth white even against his pale skin.  "It has its merits, I must admit," he said, and his grin widened. "Especially now that we have our magic back."

Jay paused and looked close at the stranger.  "Have you ever thought of getting something pierced?"

Rumplestiltskin

The Dark One looked the young man over. He muttered something, and the sword the young man was holding burst into a blue flame. With a flick of the Dark One's hand, the flame died away. When it did, Eragon couldn't help but notice the sword was gone.

Rumplestiltskin flipped the sword in his hands. "This is no ordinary sword, forged from Brightsteel. Has the great dragon rider lost his dragon?" The Dark One smirked. "The price, of course, will be a dragon in return. But no ordinary dragon. I want Fin Dovah's dragon egg, the one rinsed in blood. Only then will you have this."

Rumplestiltskin revealed a deep blue potion. "If you ever get this, you will pour this on a big rock." The Dark One raised the sword, Brisingr. "Stab this sword, no other sword, in the stone." The Dark One waved his hand over the sword. "The sword and stone will vanish. It will be up to you to find it. If you do, and manage to take it from the stone, the connection between dragon and rider will be restored once again. As for the sword, you will owe me a favor."

Rumplestiltskin held out his hand towards Eragon. "Do we have a deal?"

Eragon is impressed that Rumplestiltskin knows about riders. He'd been hoping the man didn't, because he already knows that he tends to overprice things. An overpriced normal sword would be a reasonable price to pay. Overpriced for what he's actually asking is very high indeed.

"I'm afraid not. Too steep a price for me." Eragon says, turning from the counter and walking to the door. He actually considers leaving, coming back later to see if the man had a more reasonable offer, but instead decides to take more immediate action. As he pulls the door open with one hand, he holds the other hand, palm open by his side, muttering "Brisingr sverd" to call the sword into it. It takes a lot of energy, likely because there is another powerful magicians who also wants the sword, but the sword belongs to Eragon and so comes to him. As the sword aids in magic, Eragon's power is immediately replenished, and once outside the store he says quietly "Eitrum." Which retrieves the correct potion too.

The boy immediately heads into the woods nearby, too distracted in his thoughts to even notice the girl with a dragon. Under normal circumstances, he really should have noticed that, but currently, his main focus is finding a large stone. He almost feels bad for taking the potion, although realistically it probably means nothing to the other man. Anyway, that's what he gets. You never try to keep a dragon seperate from its rider.

[ Brisingr sverd - fire sword, as Brisingr is also the name of the sword, this calls it to Eragon.

Eitrum - poison, whilst Rumple offered a potion not a poison, it was a potentially negative liquid, which is where the connection was made in Eragons mind, allowing the spell to work]

"Yeah I heard all about the Evil Queen and her curse from her son Henry, well Asgardia was not affected by said curse it's protected by very strong magic." Loki explained, "If I ever got something pierced or my skin inked my father would disown me." Loki responded, sure I have thought of it when I was younger just to rebel against him but was never really brave enough to actually get it done." Loki shrugged.

"An Asgardian?" Jay eyed the man.  "No offense, but most Asgardians I've met have biceps easily twice the size of their brains.  No sense of humor, either.  I mean, I summon one tiny sleet storm during some royal birthday, and suddenly I'm the bad guy."

"They usually are but it turns out I wasn't born there, I am a Frost Giant or a smaller one. My father found me abandoned and took me in and raised me as such," Loki responded. "Hence why I'm paler, skinnier and have darker hair." He shrugged, "and I know what you mean by no sense of humor. I caused more than a few pranks on them." Loki smiled.

"Ok, fine." Astrid sighed in defeat. "But I don't think it's a good idea to leave Stormfly alone." She added, Stormfly following along behind her as if she wasn't going to let Astrid leave her there regardless.

As the two followed Emma and David, Stormfly fell a few steps behind to study the strange machines along the side of the road. Just as Emma was asking that they not attack anything Stormfly's curious inspection set off a car alarm. Both dragon and viking reacted to the startling noise. Jumping back Stormfly whipped her tail forward throwing a few spikes into the hood of the car. At the same time Astrid turned while drawing her battle ax from her back throwing it at the back of the car. Seeming to realize their mistake Astrid cringed as the car alarm slowly die, knowing they'd likely fucked up. "Sorry..."

Once at Grany's Astrid gave Stormfly another scratch on the chin. "Stay right here girl, I'll be back soon." She said before stepping inside.

"You know," Jay said, "I think you and I could have a little fun here." He held out a hand.  "The name the Queen gave me here was Jay Winters.  Back in the homelands, I was called Jack Frost."

Emma admitted Stormfly made her jump a little, "it's okay just please make sure she doesn't torch the town or try and eat anyone." She responded, how on earth are they going to hide a large dragon. She can't stay in the woods as someone could pick her up, namely Gold. Who knows what he would do if he got his hands on a dragon, Emma walked into Granny's with her and everyone looked at them. "What's a matter you can't tell me none of you have seen a dragon before," he spoke and walked to the booth Henry was sitting at. Emma introduced him to Astrid as then asked about the book and if there is anything about Astrid and Berk in it.

"So that is a real life dragon?" Henry asked, "cool..Let me check, oh there is another stranger who just arrived named Loki."

-------

"Jack Frost? You mean the guy who can freeze things and is responsible for winter?" Loki asked, "I read a lot. I suppose it would be fun to cause a bit of mischief after all I am known for it back home." Loki smirked.

If a viking strolling into Granny's wasn't startling enough, her dragon peering in through the windows certainly would of alarmed most of the people in the diner. Though she could hear the whispers of other occupants around her Astrid simply ignored them following Emma to a both with a young man in it.

"Hey." She greeted simply. Removing her battle ax from her back to sit more comfortably she sat it on the table, causing more then a few people in the diner to jump. As Astrid's attention turned curiously to Henry's book, David pulled Emma aside to have a word with her.

"I'm not sure it's safe to trust her." David whispered to keep others from overhearing. "Vikings have been raiding village in the Enchanted Forest for years. If they've found a way to get to Storybrooke... For all we know Astrid and her dragon could just be a distraction while the rest of her village prepares to invade..."

Before David could say much more Astrid nearly jumped from her seat at the mention of Loki. "There a god here!" She nearly shouted at the startling information. "Of all the gods to show up..." She grumbled, knowing full well that a god of mischief was far more likely to make her situation worse rather then better. With a sigh she sat back again, returning her attention to how she could get home.

As Henry flipped through the book Astrid sat up again suddenly spotting pictures of some very familiar scene. Pulling the book closer to her Astrid began to flip quickly through the pages, a look of confusion etched upon her face. "Who wrote this?" She asked wondering how anyone outside of Berk could have gotten all this information.

Astrid suddenly stopped on a particular image. Her expression shifted to a sad lonely look as her finger tips traced along the image. The picture depicted a black streamlined dragon, who seemed to have an artificial fin on the left side of his tail that seemed to be controlled by left stirrup on his saddle. Seated in the dragon's saddle was a slender young man, or at least slender by viking standards. Ironically enough the rider on this dragon seemed to be missing the lower half of his left leg. The artificial limb attached to his leg looked as if it had been designed to lock into the left stirrup of the dragon's saddle. "Hiccup..." Astrid whispered to herself, realizing she was missing him already.

"I think we can trust her, if she was as bad as vikings said they are she would have ravaged the town as soon as she stepped foot in it." Emma responded and then turned to Astrid, "we aren't sure who wrote this book. One day it just appeared, it has all these stories about townspeople and even the Enchanted Forest, at first I didn't believe it was real but soon enough I found out that it was." Emma explained, "as for Loki I'm not sure if it's the god from mythology or just another version of it that the Author of the book came up with. This book has magical powers," she added. When Astrid read through it and found what she was looking for Emma looked at her, "so it has information about you and your village?" She asked, "and is this Hiccup person your leader?"

"It says that your village use to hunt dragons until one day a boy named Hiccup who's father is the leader found a dragon and eventually bonded with it and from that day on you ride them," Henry spoke summarizing the text. "That is so cool, do you think I could go and meet your dragon? I mean it's not everyday a boy comes face to face with a real life dragon," he smiled.

------

Loki nodded at Jay, "alright lead the way." He responded following him, "so you all came from the forest and got here because the Evil Queen cast a curse? Now you're all stuck here?"

"He is our current chieftain..." Astrid confirmed with a nod, flipping a bit more through the book till the story came to show images of Stoick's funeral.

Despite the heartache such memories brought back Astrid's smile returned hearing Henry's interest in her dragon. "If you want I can teach you how to ride her once her wing heals?" She offered. David's face paled a little at the thought of his grandson on the back of a dragon, and with a viking no less.

"Come on, I'll introduce you." Astrid said brightly as she stood to head outside. The boy's interest reminded her of Hiccup in a way, back when they were younger. "Stormfly loves kids." Hopefully not for breakfast.
