Salem

He watched the cat draw nearer and realized how similar she appeared to him, save for the white splotch on her chest and the vivid green eyes. He calmed his expression upon feeling the rodent push up beside him. He covered the fearful animal with his tail, deciding he'd play protector to the abused mouse. He smirked towards the female, "And miss out on the lovely idle chat? Never, beside why would I eat something that's been poked and prodded by humans, he's clearly poison filled."

Django

The dog shrugged, "No reason really," He paused, and chuckled, sitting down on the earth. "I'm sorry I don't even know you're name."

Nemesis

Nemesis stopped, and sat down. "Humans?!" She hissed. "If it was humans, I agree! Stupid creatures, ruining my prey, so that I can starve!" She said. She growled at the mere thought of humans.
Lily

Lily laughed also, "I'm so sorry, I should introduce myself. My name's Lily." She said.

Algernon felt he should say something, but when he did, he came out sounding weird and awkward. "Yeah!" he shouted with false enthusiasm. "Humans suck!" He had to admit that he felt somewhat bad for the meaner cat. She was only doing what instinct told her to do: to eat. Algernon felt lucky that he was an omnivore and mostly preferred to munch of plants because he couldn't imagine himself having to hurt another creature. He found himself speaking without telling himself to do so: "Maybe we can help you find some food."

Nemesis

Nemesis remembered her days in the shelter, and how excited she was when, she was adopted. She silently cursed herself for being so stupid. She was a playful little kitten, and he was mean to her, and threw her out for no reason. She licked her paw, and rubbed her face, trying to act cool. "Yeah." She agreed with the rodent. "I'm Nemesis, do you two have names?"

"Heh," Algernon chuckled, "Nemesis. Sounds cool. My name's Algernon. I'm apparently named after some really smart mouse or something." He recalled his days in the lab when the scientists were deciding on his name and they mentioned something about a book, whatever that was, and this one guy decided to name him after a character (whatever that was) in the book.

Salem

He stood up once more, removing his tail from the creature and stretching out. "Well they sure don't care how you feel about them, so ranting about it isn't helping. Now if you don't mind, I've got a dog to feed." He said, heading off to the edge of the forest, where Salem had told the dog to wait, as they exchanged names.

Django

He wagged his tail, happy to find a friendly animal. Sure Salem was helpful, but he never missed a chance to lecture him about his trust in humans.

Nemesis

"Hey, wait! No running off without answering my question!" Nemesis called to the male cat. She turned to the mouse, "Nice name. Now, come on." She said. She ran after the male, calling out to him.

Lily

Lily smiled, "Well, on the subjects of humans. Did you have any?" She asked, not trying to be rude.

Ashes~

"Oooooooh, chasing things is fun!" i told muffin the munchkin. " i chased one of those big white thing the humans ride in before. you know the ones with lots of flashing lights? my human got in one one time, she hasn't come back yet though" i said like it was only a matter of time before she did return

Salem

"What? My name?" He asked, turning his head towards the other feline. "Funny you should ask, it's a tricky one 'cause it comes in two parts. Yeah the first part is Nonya, and the last part is Business." He called behind his shoulder with a sneer. That was pretty lame, but he couldn't pass up the opportunity to use it, besides he didn't see the point of giving out his name seeing as they probably wouldn't meet again.

Django

He nodded with a slight wistful look in his eyes as he remembered all his past owners. "Yeah, a lot actually. My humans were nice people, but they had the worse luck."

Algernon followed behind Nemesis, half-willingly because he didn't want to lose his friendship with the male cat, though also because he was still a little scared of Nemesis. Sure, she probably wasn't going to eat him, knowing that experiments had been done on him and that he'd been touched by humans, but she could still hurt him easily if she wanted to.

Muffin

Muffin nodded, "I like chasing butterflies. Mama told me the white flashy things are dangerous." She said. She saw a butterfly not to far away, "Do you want to chase that butterfly?" She asked, standing up.
Nemesis

Nemesis hissed, "I know that's not your name, I'm not stupid!" She shouted. She was starting to wonder why she was following this tom. Then, she got an idea, "If you don't tell me your name, I'll follow you around calling you Tom!" She laughed, and kept running.

Lily

Lily lied down, and nodded. "The only humans I trust are the small ones, once they grow, they toss out inascent cats, and dogs that did nothing to diserve it." She said, remembering her past.

Salem

He continued through the woods, rolling her eyes at her attempts. "Oh how will I ever manage?" He asked with a sarcastic tone in his voice. "And Tom isn't that bad of a name, it's short, sweet, and heck I am one."

Django

He give a small nod. "Some humans are like that, but there are others that are like the young ones."

Nemesis

Nemesis hissed, and picked up the pace. She caught up with the tom, and growled. "You really are stupid, aren't you." She said. She hoped her limp wasn't noticeable, she wouldn't live it down if it was. She jumped in front of the male, and hissed, her ears going back. "Would it kill you to answer one question!?" She asked.

Lily

Lily turned her head, "Or so I've been told." She said. "I'll believe it when, I see it." She looked back at the dog. "I'm sorry, I-" She stopped, and looked at Shadow. "You can travel with us." She said, turning again toward Django.

Algernon watched the dispute from a safe distance. He wished "Tom" would just cooperate. Nemesis didn't seem like the type of feline you wanted to make angry.

Salem

He appeared unaffected by her attitude, half lidded and looking rather tired of her prodding. "Fine, it's Salem, my name is Salem. Now are you done with your hissy fit?" He asked, looking around her and to the spot where his dog was meant to be. He let out an annoyed huff, of course he had to wonder off.

Django

His ears perked up at the offer, "I'd love to, but I don't know if my friend would be okay with it. He likes to be the leader, I mean he's good at it. I would've died if he hadn't swooped in."

Algernon came closer when he noticed that Salem seemed upset not just about being repeatedly asked his name. "Is everything all right?" Algernon asked him as he noticed Salem looking past Nemesis.

Salem

He turned his caramel gaze towards Algernon, lashing his tail to the side and nodding. "It's fine, I just need to find someone. Normally this wouldn't bug me, but I'm dealing with an idiot so he could be in a load for trouble by now."

"Oh" was all Algernon could think to say. He knew what it was like to work with idiots. Every day, at the lab, working with idiot humans was his job. He didn't like seeing Salem in distress like this, so he hoped that everything would be all right.

Salem

He turned back to the spot and slipped past the female, his head sunk towards the ground, trying to catch Django's scent. The male relaxed, at least he had a trail to follow. He looked towards the the direction Django must have went and lifted his nose to the air. He tried sniffing out what possibly lead the canine there. No luck, Django's nose was better than Salem's and the feline had no warning of what was with the dog.

Nemesis

Nemesis ran over to Salem, "Could I help?" She asked. "I've met a lot of idiots in my time, and I might know where to look." She walked by his side, but not to close.

((I leave for a couple of hours and THIS happens xD Thanks for making me read 5 pages lol...Kind of disoriented but I assume I'm near Shadow...? If someone can tell me where I'm at that'd be great :3))

Phoenix nips Falkor's nose. The large, fluffy dog jumps, knocking Phoenix into flight. "What was that for?"

"You were daydreaming. I had to wake you up." Phoenix says matter-of-factly, landing back on Falkor's head.

"I wasn't 'daydreaming'," Falkor huffs, his voice filled with pride "I was bewildered at this scene, I mean, surely you don't find this normal..." Falkor stamps his paws, a nervous twitch he's always had, wondering where he can jump in and meet others.

Shadow

Shadow heard someone stomping around, he walked over, and saw another dog. "Who are you!?" He asked, still trying to be a good guard dog for the two cats.

After looking around some more, Falkor spots a mostly-black dog who looks friendly enough. Without warning Phoenix, he starts lumbering towards the dog.

"Woah! Hey!" Phoenix screeches "Red alert! RED ALERT! AVALANCHE!" He screams, finding himself amusing.

"Shut up Phoenix, you're not funny. Be quiet, will you, there are cats." Falkor hisses at the somewhat annoying and bi-polar parrot.

The other dog immediately puts up his guard against the unlikely pair.

"Easy, easy, big guy." The parrot chirrups comically. "I'm Phoenix, the African Grey, and this is my lovable mountain of fur-"

"I'm his companion, Falkor." Falkor interrupts Phoenix, at his wits end with the screeching feather bag. "It's a pleasure. And you are?" The amiable dog asks.

Desperate not to lose his first friends in a long time, Algernon ran over to Salem and Nemesis. "I could help, too," he said, though he wasn't sure of the truth in that statement. What could he, a little mouse, do to help two cats find some other large creature?
