"I'm just kidding"he chuckled "that's not what they said..." He lowered his head.


"So , how was everyone's day?" He asked , hoping to change the topic.
 
Amoux had a puzzled expression on his face. He took a few steps forward. "How have you managed on your own?" He asked.

"Its easy actually...I just steal from the pack's food supply or I hunt for myself..." He nodded again, using the same dumb - 'cute' smile.


"There is also a itty-bitty bit of cannibalism... Wolves actually taste decent..."


He whispers. His ears flop down.
 
Amoux' eyes were filled with shock. "You mean to say you've turned into a cannibal?" He couldn't believe his own ears.
 



Astrien was shocked. She glanced between them, pulling one paw up close to her chest.

"Why... Why don't you just hunt?"

She asked quietly, completely confused as to everything that was going on. Did he eat the Alpha too?

"Ehhhh...sure you could say that....I do hunt...but I seem to mostly not find any rabbits...the packs must have thought to starve me while I was out here."He sighed.


"Anyways..how was everyone today?"
 
Amoux took more steps closer. "I thought you were dead." He said. "Why did you do it! Why did you turn on us?" He had raised his voice in anger.
 
Linara stepped up to Schatten sitting near him " Oh come on you two he's not the first wolf to go cannibal plus he had no choice if he was evicted from his pack , i mean where do you think the blood pack came from , their first alpha was a cannibal and he was evicted from a pack so thankfully the rest of blood pack's generation forgot that but it would be good for you two to remember so that you don't turn him down so likely " she said moving her head between the wolves
 
Schatten was surprised by the sudden anger. He lowered his head as both ears flopped to the side of his head.


Shame was common for him as well , but he felt bad for what he had done. He stood up and started for the door.


"Because , I'm a monster." He smiled, saying it almost in a saddened voice, it quickly disappeared "See ya!" he kept the smile. the sadness on the inside was never shown.


"I'm going hunting..." he turned around, chuckling. "For rabbits." He continued, trying to reassure the wolves.

Astrien turned her head towards Amoux, her ears arching back slightly.

"What would you do if you had nothing else to eat?"

She said, her voice loud and clear for all to hear.

Eris padded out of the den, looking at the pups and to the wolves around the Shadow Pack camp, she licked her paw and rubbed it against her eyes. Rubbing the sleep from them, she exhales a soft breath and pads out of the camp, going to find something to eat. She sniffed the air, raising her head and looking around a little bit before following the scent of a rabbit. Once the rodent was in sight she lowered into a crouch and jumped out at the rabbit, biting it deeply in the back ending it quickly as her jaws crushed it.
 
Linara shaked her head in anger and disbelief, turning around and walking towards the area where the lake is
 
"Well..." He stopped to answer the question. "I would call myself an equal opportunity 'Cannibal' ... you know... dead bodies...pups...others...I really can't run out of food sources...I am staring at them right now." He laughed, hoping they would disregard the 'Pup' thing, he still remembered the time he met a lost pup.


The pup was soon staring at him with hope...


The hope was soon taken from him...as the pup's life was as well...


He still felt bad for the poor pup.


He started again for the shadow pack food storage, hoping to find a bunny on the way. If he didn't , he would still have plan B.
 



Astrien turned to look at Schatten. She trotted after him, walking along side him.

"Going with you."

She said quietly, staring straight ahead.

"Maybe I can catch another meal on the walk too."

He turned his head as he walked, seeing the wolf follow him.


"Mkay, whats your name?" he asked, quickly turning his head back to face forward.
 



"I'm Astrien. And you are?"

She asked, turning her head slightly to look at him. Blood was still matting her muzzle down to her chest.

"I'm Schatten! Nice ta meet ya!"He glanced back.


"It means Shadow... not...'shit in'- never mind..."
 



Astrien chuckled.

"I don't know what my name means."

He said, turning her head to face up ahead.

"Where are you headed?"

"No where in particular..." He replied.


It would be nice to scare someone without killing them for a change.


Once they were far away from the others, his face was turned into an eerie smile, stopping suddenly and turning around.

"Besides , we already have food here..."

"Really? Where?"

She asked, her gaze darting around for a while. It soon dawned on her like a hammer. She was the food. Her expression turned into anger. In a swift movement, she tackled him and pinned him to the floor. She snarled and bared her teeth to his face.

The smile quickly turned to one of surprise and fear.


The ears flopped down again,


"I-it was just a small joke- " he whimpered.
 



Astriens expression changed.

"O-oh. I'm... I'm sorry."

She said, getting off him. Her ears were down slightly.

"I'm not used to many jokes."

She shifted her weight from one paw to the other as she waited for him to get up.

"Besides, If I was attacking you , you wouldn't expect it." He grunted as he stood back up. glancing back with less of a smile. His tactic was to attack suddenly, disabling and killing quickly before the target has time to react.


He was rather fragile in battle.
