Winter stood outside, with a dark umbrella covering herself from the slowly fading sunlight. She was awaiting the arrival of the "guests." Thankfully, it became overcast and it started to rain. She sighed of relief and closed her umbrella, leaving it leaning on the wall outside of the building. She crossed her arms over her apron and waited. Her neck itched. It was only 6:00 in the evening, but her insides were ready to come out. She didn't let herself though. She knew she'd be able to feast when the clock strikes 12. She had 6 hours until she could be 'herself.'

The sweet purr of the engine, and the gentle rain, made Vanessa Hughes smile more than usual. What a perfect setting for this evening. Her suitcase resided on the floor by the passenger seat of her car. A beautiful image of the mansion was laid upon her as her headlights revealed the grand spectacle, removing any darkness from the entrance.

Parking up by the side, Vanessa was transfixed by the mansion. After a few minutes, she got out of her car, smoothing down her dress and retrieving her suitcase.

Locking up her car, Vanessa headed up to the entrance of the mansion where Winter resided. Upon spotting this girl, Vanessa greeted her with a civil and benevolent demeanour.

Alvin looked at the house. "Oh, here's my stop." He said to the taxi driver. He gave the driver money, before stepping out and admiring the view. One night of being drunk with his friends resulted in a month living in a house with a group of people. He put his hands in his pockets, sighing. "Let's go." Alvin said, walking ahead to the entrance.

Music drifted through the library's basement, and a voice could be heard singing along as tapping and crunching sounds added to the sound.
"Pry the belly hook and nail..."
Gabriel sang as he pried the filings out of the teeth of his next meal. He then placed the gold and silver in separate containers on his shelf. After divesting the corpse of the rest of its possessions and packing them away he heaved the corpse off the surgical tale and onto his dining table. Sitting down he glanced up at the ceiling before ripping off a handful of flesh and stuffing it into his mouth. His eating picked up speed until he was literally tearing the corpse apart. Less than an hour later Gabriel dumped the bloody meat and bone fragments into the pit he kept his rats in. They swarmed around it and he heard their chittering as he walked to his shower. While the others might not care, he wasn't about to risk any damage to his books.

Arian tugged at his ear buds as the cab pulled up to the castle, pulling them from his ears and stuffing them into his jacket pocket along with his phone. He paid the driver and got out of the cab with a sigh of relief. It was a long ride here which left his joints stiff and his butt hurting, but he was more focused on the giant castle looming ahead of him. There were others who had already made it, so he shook and stretched before discretely followed their general direction up to a woman dressed in maids clothing near the entrance. Better than him standing back gawking and clueless on what to do.

"Oh. No thank you but thank you for the offer, milday". Vanessa giggled a cute little giggle. Her suitcase wasn't that much of a bother anyway, she hadn't packed much; mainly clothes and a little bit of makeup.

"And who have I head the pleasure of speaking to..."? Vanessa smoothed down her dress again as a little gust of wind picked up, blowing the hem around a little.

When the woman approached them, Arian's grip on the bag slung around his shoulder tightened a little. He softly shook his head with a kind yet somewhat nervous smile, "No, thank you." It was a new area, and his bags were the only things he was familiar with so wasn't ready to part from them. He listened as the other woman who was obviously another guest inquired about the maid's name before he shuffled on his feet since he couldn't stand too still. It was a little exciting, getting to stay in a castle. It'd be something he never experienced before. And better yet it is The Count's castle. Brimming with curiosity, he decided to continue on after looking at the exterior, sauntering over to the entrance and pushing passed the door. He moved out of the way once he made it inside in case anyone else was close behind him. It wasn't much different from what he was expecting, but he thought that it was still magnificent. So much so that he had walked around the room viewing things, and nearly broke a lamp from backing into it. Luckily, he caught it before it was pushed off the surface and tried to put it back the way it was. The result was somewhat messy, but he didn't take the time to perfect it. Instead, he continued to look around, admiring some of the paintings on the walls with a mixture of curiosity and quiet awe.

Vanessa found herself entering the castle soon after Arian, admiring her surroundings. She was mainly focused on the height of the castle before examining a mantlepiece and picking up an old fashioned clock, some dust slipping off the object. Vanessa quickly got out her handkerchief before burying her face in it, her nose twitching and tickling.
"ISHHHYEEEWWW"! She staggered back after her sneeze, nearly dropping the clock. She placed it back and kept her handkerchief close, another sneeze brewing in her nose. "Bless. Me".

Winter nodded at their reactions. "The pleasure is mine. I'm Winter, the house keeper." She curtsied. She quickly got the other attendants bags while the other two entered the count's castle. She quickly followed behind.

"Please stay in this room for the time being. I will be back to fetch you and assign you to your rooms." She placed the bags down and hurried down the hallway leaving everyone's view.

She was getting hungrier by the minute. She couldn't stay this way for the entire evening. That was the real reason she left... She looked for the basement door frantically. Coming upon it, she pulled a large key from her key ring, and unlocked the door. She quickly headed down the stairs closing and locking the door behind her. Her lungs and nostrils were filled with the sweet smell of iron. Down here, the count kept barrels of aged blood wine. Not pure blood, but enough to sustain them for a short amount of time. She cracked one open and chugged. She wiped her mouth and put the bottle back. Her hunger was merely satisfied, but it would be back.

(She's free for vampire interaction. This is also a good time for the humans to interact!)

QUINN BECKETT
the son of rage and love

Quinn awoke to the sound of a door being slammed and locked. He groaned loud enough for others within a short distance to hear. He'd not long ago fallen asleep and now he was awake again. Why couldn't people leave him alone? He pulled the covers over his head. Sleep. He needed to sleep but at this rate it wasn't happening.

He sighed and got out of his casket tripping over his skateboard before walking to his half empty bottle of blood on the other side of the room. He chugged the bottle and got ready for the day, doing his normal routine and changing into his regular attire. He grabbed his guitar and tightened it around him before grabbing his skateboard and walking to the basement exit.

It was here where he spotted Winter, a maid in the mansion. He never really spoke to her, preferring the company of music, but she seemed on edge. Then Quinn remembered: the humans were here. He had to take precautionary measures and made himself up a bottle of blood to go. It was in a flask so everything would be fine. Nothing bad was going to happen today.

He exited the basement using his key and skated in no particular direction. He did this a lot and it was less likely someone could disturb him. He especially didn't want to be disturbed today, not when humans were around. A snappy vampire didn't do good with mortals.

Gabriel hears the sound of visitors and scurries through one of the secret passages to the basement. He'd dug several of them himself, so he was sure he could get in and out for blood while everyone else was busy. Drained flesh just wasn't as good. Seeing Winter there he decided he might as well visit. He drops down from the ceiling.
"What's up, Winter? Who's arrived? Anyone with meat on their bones? Please tell me they've got books? Any word on the plan?"
He's so excited he's speaking very quickly.

Vanessa, handkerchief still over her lower face, approached Ian, smiling behind her handkerchief. "Such an amazing place, although a little dusty". Rubbing her nose softly, Vanessa, then, tucked away her handkerchief. "I'm Vanessa, it's a pleasure".

Arian's attention was pulled away from the interior design when the same woman he saw earlier approached him and spoke, introducing herself as Vanessa soon after. He gave a half nod at her words and a civil smile, "I'm Arian, it's nice to meet you too." He hadn't entirely noticed how dusty the place was before Vanessa mentioned it, taking a glance at some of the areas where it had collected. Taking a little onto his finger tip before rubbing it off. "Hm, you're right. That's a little odd." Although Arian couldn't imagine having to clean this entire place on his own, he wasn't sure if he could assume there was only one person on the housekeeping staff. He quickly moved from his thoughts as he didn't want to ruin his previous awe or come off as rude so he shifted his attention back to Vanessa, "Have you ever stayed in a castle before?"

As winter finished up her drink, she noticed a younger turned vampire leave. Quinn was newly turned and didn't talk much. Winter would talk but she's constantly busy trying to please the count. Then suddenly, the librarian, Gabriel fell from the ceiling and landed behind her, striking a conversation. She turned around and gave a very small and hardly noticeable smile. "Hello, Gabriel." She greeted. "The humans have indeed arrived... However don't get too greedy and snack on one of them. The count has orders, remember... We're not to touch, yet." She explained once more to the ghoul. "I do believe one of them has a book or so, but it was hard for me to focus with my hunger."

"Apparently the count wants to speak with us tonight, after the guests retire. He'll be waiting in the dining room at 3 AM."

Gabriel shrugs as he uncorks a bottle. "I'll be there."
He drains the bottle within seconds and sighs as his flesh regenerates slightly. "That's better. Any plans on your end?"

Morana arrived in a white, Excalibur limo-car kept and maintained by the Church and was assisted out by one of the many members of her convent that had come to see her off.
The girl sniffed the air as a her bags were ushered in. Another, older nun, gripped Morana by the shoulders and started to coax her forward towards the castle.
"Oh, Sister Guinevere, what a wonderful aroma this mountain air has. I'd love to take a stroll through the grounds." she said as she was guided up and into the building, her hands clasped in front of her.
"Yes, yes, my child. There will be time for that, presently we must get you situated inside." the old woman said moving her in through the door and into a foyer of sorts.
"Of course, sister, I just wish Mother Superior was-" Morana paused as she smelled the air inside the castle, hesitating slightly as they walked in.
"What is it, dear?" Sister Guinevere asked, stopping their advance and looking around after looking at Morana's expression.
"Oh, it's, well...It's nothing Sister." she responded trying not to seem uncouth. The place smelled of the crypt. "Just taken aback by the grandeur of it all. This estate must be incredibly old. I can't imagine the stories these walls could tell."
The group of nuns gathered and stood among the rest of the guests.
"Many stories, I'm sure, and many more yet to be spun. Now, remember tha-" The senior most nun was cut off by another one, more close to Morana's age.
"Ma'am, I'm still experiencing apprehensions about leaving Sister Morana here alone with these strange people." she said looking around the room. "She's not in a state to be fending for herself."
Morana's face shifted slightly. She hated having people worry about her or see her as a encumbrance, she was no one's onus.
"That's not something we have the luxury to concern ourselves with. It has been decided." the older woman responded, seeing the displease on her face.
"I understand this but what about her vision concerning-" the younger nun started but was instead then cut off by Guinevere.
There is no contesting this, child." she interjected. "Now go, the lot of you. Prepare to leave. I'll be out momentarily."
The group of subordinate nuns looked at each other with nervous expressions before taking their leave as instructed and filing out of the door.
"Don't fret, Sister Ariel. God will guide me in your absence." Morana reassured her sister as she left the building.
Guinevere held Morana by her shoulders to get her full attention.
"Now listen, you will be in charge of looking after yourself for this month. You cannot neglect your health in selflessness, this is not a mission. There will be no one to watch over you. We have been assured that if your health turns for the worst, we will be notified. Don't be a fool and contact the Convent if you need to." she tried to look past her veil and into her eyes as she said this, knowing the young nun wouldn't like it.
"Yes, Sister. I understand."
The words stung, though she knew them to be true. She'd always go above and beyond in attempts to make up for her shortcomings and occasionally overexert herself, becoming a charge and counterproductive to her cause.
"This is your duty as well as to do right by the Church and by God. I know in this respect you will not fail. We'll be back in a month's time to hear all about your exotic visit to the infamous Castle Dracula." her elder said in attempts to cheer her up.
It worked, Morana wasn't one to dwell on such things, at least not obviously.
"Of course, Sister."
The elder nun left with the rest, leaving Sister Morana Faustus standing by herself at the edge of the group. She looked not the slightest bit distressed about being in the company of strangers in an isolated castle far from civilization. Instead, she stood, holding her hands together in front of her and grinning innocently. She tilted her head slightly in different directions taking in her new surrounding. She wasn't one to start conversations, especially not one with strangers and instead wondered as to where their guide was or whether or not their was one.

S Someone , anyone

Gabriel's ears perk up when he hears the call. "Finally, someone new."
Moving around the corner from where Morana is, he calls out using the voice of a young woman he'd eaten. "This way, come along please." He keeps ahead of her at all times and begins leading her to the library without letting her get a look at him. "Just in here, the library hasn't had any visitors in a while."
He then hides in one of the tunnels he's made around the room.
FTR FTR

Morana's head turns in the direction of the voice, glad to finally be able to meet someone new.
"Oh!" Morana said slightly startled by the sudden sound coming from behind her. She wasn't used to anyone being able to sneak up on her. "Of, course. But there is just the matter of my bags. I will need some assistance having them taken to my room." she said pulling a small messenger bag-like purse across her body.
Morana started to move in the direction of the voice. Though blind as a bat, she was hardly awkward and navigated decently thanks to her veil's sense though still reaching out to grip walls and furniture as a precaution.
There's a very intense smell coming from the direction of the voice and Morana battled with the decision of asking about it or not. She didn't want to seem rude if it turned out to be her guide that carried that rather putrid smell with them.
She was just about to enter the library before she finally gave in to her strange observation. It seemed no one else had followed the voice.
She suddenly felt very uneasy and gripped the strap of her purse in one hand and her pendant in another.
The smell and feel of the room was less than inviting, it smelled even more like a tomb than the the rest of this wing.
"H-hello!?" she called out sheepishly, not having heard the voice since she stopped at the doorway.
The bizarre, barely audible echo that returned to her ears didn't do well to calm her nerves.

Ezra drops from the ceiling behind her. "BOO!" He reveals his full monstrous form before quickly scuttling away. The library door slams shut and locks.
"Poor little mouse, lost among rats. Come to bring salvation us poor sinners? Spare a bite to eat?"
He echoes his voice off the walls to make it appear like she's surrounded and switches up which ones he uses to make it sound like there are many different people.
"You're in the library. Be sure to obey all the rules."
He moves around the room, flicking the switches to case the room in dim light. He's out of sight but the rules are not.

Rules of the Library:
0. The Head Librarian decides what the rules are.
1.Library staff are excepted from the rules unless the Head Librarian says so.
2. Non-residents can't leave until they donate a book.
3. No damaging library materials.
4. Any books taken off the shelves must be replaced in the exact same order or put on the cart to be put away from the librarian.
5. No loud noises.
6. None of these rules are contradictory.
7. No food or drink inside the library.

Gabriel uses his real voice (deep, raspy, and very creepy) for his next comment.
"You're technically in violation of Rule 7 as long as any of the residents are in here, including me, but I'll make an exception since you're new. Now what games shall I play with you, my pretty little mouse?"

Morana jumped forward with a sharp squeal as something landed behind her and the doors sealed her in. Suddenly, she was thrust from a pleasant excitement about about a novel experience, something she's had very little of, to completely bewilderment and unease.
She shuffled around as she both tried to get a feel for where the voices are coming from and move away from them.
"What is- Rules? Wha- I-I don't understand." She said descending into a state of distress which blurred her 6th sense. Feeling exposed and disoriented she moved towards a nearby shelf and clinged onto it.
"I don't like this, please come out, miss."
Morana's grip on the shelf tightened and her hand shot to her pendant as the gravely voice spoke. Her heart rate jumped and she immediately started trying to calm herself with prayer. She knew her condition seemed to get worse the more stressed she was.
She quietly recited scripture from Numbers hoping whatever it was that was going on would come to pass.
Whoever this person was, they were wrong to torment the afflicted in such a way.

Gabriel giggles as he listens to her heartbeat. He switches to another voice as he opens a secret passage. "Quickly this way! Before they get you!"

Morana may be naive but she wasn't a fool. The grim voice from before and it's mention of games drained any outward going trust she had left at the moment. It was following a voice feigning sincerity that got her into the mess in the first place. She did well to not follow it so blindly this time instead moved in the opposite direction of it. She bumped into "the rules" and quickly tried to focus on them. The revelation of what they where and what the creature had meant by violating rule 7 hit her like a ton of bricks and she panickedly pulled out the pocket Bible in her purse and sat it against the rules.
Morana then b-lined further from the voice and the sound of a door slamming. Regaining her composure, it hardened to fit the scenario making her significantly harder to catch off guard.
She pulled out a metal cross from inside her purse and screwed off the lower part of the vertical cross bar revealing a blade.
"There must be a way out of here." she said to herself as she started to make her way around and between shelves. She focused hard on her veil and saw a latter one shelf ahead and two over. It'd at the very least afford her the high ground and a means out from between these books.
Perhaps a vantage point.
