In a kingdom that was ruled by the vampire king also known as Dracula. He and other vampire councilors governed the humans telling them what they can and cannot do. But they always let them live their life until twice-three times a month they take the lives of an unlucky person. The vampire community is large and the human population only has a few. People who have tried to take a stand to the lord himself, have failed. The vampires that lived in the castle with Dracula were ruthless, intimidating, cocky, heartless, and they had little sympathy for humans. Many vampires from other vampire kingdoms all over the world have come to train with the one and only and some have come for protection, or to start a new life. The annual vampire masquerade ball begins once every full moon. The moon acted like their 'sun' since they couldn't come out during the day, giving the reason they hold this ceremony to worship the moon as well as to mingle with others, and drink. The party strictly states that no mortals shall enter the ball, and no mortal should ever fall in love with a human bringing disgrace to the vampire community.

The smell of grass after rain reached Echo's nose as she started to wake up, she was kept in her master's room in the castle inside of a cage like cell which contained a fancy bed and a closet filled with beautiful dresses, she sat up straight and looked beyond the cage at her master's bed, he was still asleep. A couple of minutes later a human servant knocked then let himself in, he opened the curtains slightly and cast a look at Echo, every servant felt bad for the young prisoner, but of course they were not allowed to utter a word about her. The servant woke Vincent up, normally after waking a master up the servants would serve them glasses of red blood, not to Vincent though, he had his own blood vessel ready for him every day. After waking Vincent up, the servant lay his cloths for him on the bed, took the key chain from the nightstand and proceeded to open Echo's cage. The red haired girl got out slowly and curtsied to her master. ''good morning master Vincent'' she said with her beautiful angelic voice. Vincent finished dressing up then sat on his armed chair motioning for the poor girl to come closer.

Proceeding in his direction, Echo sat on his lap, here the servant excused himself. Removing her back length hair away from her neck Vincent tilted the girl's head in order to have better access to her neck, he then bit her and started drinking his breakfast. Echo's hands were in fists folded in her lap, the first bite always hurt the most and she winced when he bit, making the experience more enjoyable for him, after three the young slave's blue eyes slowly closed and she fainted. Vincent lifted her up and lay her on his bed, covered her with blankets and got out of the room to see the others in the castle.

Amara woke up to the smell of homemade vegetable soup coming from downstairs. The room was dark due to the rain that was going on all night, making the atmosphere damp. Amara stretched in her comfortable bed and as she stretched her blanket went up and her feet began to show, she wiggled her feet and giggled a bit. She sat up in bed and threw her legs on the edge of the bed and gave one last stretch before scratching her messy hair. It was about twelve o'clock in the afternoon when she woke up and she overslept since she was out with her best friend last night.

Amara went to go and freshen up before heading downstairs to see her mother. Later that day after she had her soup she went into village to check on the store for her mother since her mother was going to be busy that day. She had heard that earlier today there were sightings of vampires near the forest that was close into the village. There were many people panicking not wanting to risk their lives so they all stayed inside. The town was bare and people were inside hiding until it was all clear. Amara took her time strolling through town not worried about a vampire or any other creature strolling around. She thought panicking, hiding, and fearing was a waste of her time from doing the things she wanted.

Anne woke to a loud knocking on her door, making her ears ring. She yawned slightly, before calling out "Come in." Almost immediately her mother bustled in, sighing when she saw that her daughter was in bed. "Come on, Anne, we have stuff to do today" Carol exclaimed, ringing for more servants to assist her, while tutting about the book laying on the duvet. As soon as the maids arrived, her mother simply pointed them towards Anne, leaving her to their capable hands. It was only once she was being laced into her corset after breakfast that the brunette realised that she had no clue what was happening. She turned to the her handmaiden, a confused look in her green eyes. "Why is mother so worried about today?" She asked worriedly. The lady bowed her head respectfully, speaking calmly "My lady, your family has been invited to a ball at Lord Dracula's castle, and you must leave early to get there this morning." Anne's face paled drastically, and not because the maids chose to pull the corset unbelievably tight.

Around midday Anne was ready. She was already in the dress she would be wearing for the day, as she wouldn't have time to change, and she was clutching her mask so tightly that her knuckles were turning white. As she climbed into the carriage, even her mother could tell something was wrong. her father was far ahead, preparing to ride for the journey, so he had an opportunity to see neither his wife or daughter. Carol, however, knew that Anne was better left on her own, so once the two were sat comfortably, and the younger of the two pulled out a book, they sat in comfortable silence.

Damnation. Damnation, salvation, and the twelve saints of Amalfi. He was running out of time, and soon, the harsh rays of the sun would scorch his tender white flesh. He couldn't let that happen. He couldn't. He couldn't-

Pull yourself together, you blithering idiot.

Walter lurked at the foot of the castle like something from a nightmare. His clothes hung stiffly off his bony body, caked as they were with dirt and sweat. His eyes were hollow; his fangs bared.

He had to get into the castle. By force, if necessary, but it'd be easier to scale the wall. His powers weren't physical, but the castle was as old as sin, and twice as ragged. Small outcrops jutted from the foundation, and windows glinted in the upper parts of the castle- the less defended parts. If he could just get up there-

His fingers brushed the surface of the rock, and found a handhold. He pulled himself up, and began to climb.

Some time later, he found himself gazing into a room where a young girl slept.

She was human. Red-haired. Pretty, he supposed, if you liked that sort of thing, but not his sort of companion at all. She rested, like Briar Rose, on a bed that was at least one size too big for her.

Now's my chance.

He could get in through the window, escape through the door, and maybe- if he was fortunate, and didn't wake the girl- even get himself something to wear out of the wardrobe, so he'd blend in better at the grand Masquerade. He just had to be careful.

Walter slid the window open, and entered the girl's room.

A light breeze came from outside making Echo shudder, slowly she opened her eyes up and sat in bed only to find out that one of the windows was open, a man stood in front of her with ragged cloths, it was visible he was a vampire, new, and with a confused look on his face. Echo swallowed slowly and got up: ''um, are you, are you one of master Vincent's friends?'' Vincent didn't have many enemies because.... well he killed them all, so it was only safe to presume that the man was a friend, Echo was still dizzy and had to sit on the bed to restore her balance. ''do.. do you need something sir?" she asked with her innocent voice, her hair covering one of her eyes as she looked at him with the other hazel one

@JayGatsby

"Yes. Yes, I am."

It was better to lie than to get brutally murdered. Walter tried to smooth out his jacket, and checked his pockets; everything he needed was still inside. Good. It was nearly time for his medication.

"I need- fresh clothes. A way out of this room. That, to begin with. Once that's done, we can talk specifics."

Amara saw two men that didn't look like they were from this town, their skins where pale and they help umbrellas up over their heads. They stopped in front of her and handed her a letter without saying a single word to her trying to contain themselves from going at her. She took the letter, and watched as they walked off in the same direction that they came out of. She opened the very brief letter and it read:

Amara Pallastine you are cordially invited to the castle of Dracula to attend the masquerade ball.

Sincerely,

The head counsel of the castle

Amara was astonished that she was invited to this years masquerade ball, given the fact that count Dracula only invites a few humans to attend the ball this years. Amara didn't even want to go to her mothers store but instead she dashed home as soon as possible, not stopping for anyone. "Mother, guess what?" She said as she opened the door and paused on every word catching her breath.

"Oh my dear, are you alright?" Her red headed mother asked her as she put down the tea pot and walked over to Amara.

"Count Dracula invited me to tonight's ball," Amara spoke looking at the letter before handing it to her mothers, "Well that is a surprise, and a very limited invitation." Her mother told her as she took the letter.

"Are you coming along with me mother?" She asked as she stood up and walked over to the teapot.

"No, your father's sister came down with a terrible sickness. We are going to see her tonight," Her mother spoke. "Then I'll come with," Amara blurted out.

Her mother smiled and turned to look at her, "No need dear, I wouldn't want you to catch it." She said and pour herself a spot of tea, as well as Amara and her father.

@everyone

The journey was long and tedious. Halfway through, Anne felt like she was going to fall asleep, but she couldn't, she'd ruin her hair. What she wanted to know was why King Dracula invited her family. They were certainly well off, but they were a quiet family, and tried to stay out of the way of the larger families. Normally, her parents would try to avoid this sort of thing. Then again, if the king invites you, you can't just say no. Anne sighed once again, peering out of the window. The carriage was passing over some hills, and the landscape below was beautiful, with rolling fields and large forests. The journey had taken less time than her parents had accounted for, they were travelling very light, as they would only be staying for one night. Anne drifted off into sleep

((Is anyone going to play Dracula, quick question))

Echo opened her master's wardrobe, ''he has a lot of fine suites'' she lay two suits for the new comer on the bed, of course she intended to tell her master about it but she wasn't ready to face his fury should this new comer really be one of his friends. ''i personally like this one'' Echo pointed at one of the suits, elegant mid evil red velvet with golden buttons, she looked at the new comer: ''I'm Echo'' she said smiling

@JayGatsby

"Just call me Narcissus, then." Walter didn't sound too pleased.

Thank god, he thought, for female stupidity.

He grabbed the suit and entered the wardrobe, closing the door so she couldn't watch him change. There wasn't really that much to
see, in any case- he was absolutely filthy, from three days of overland travel on foot. He tried to scrape the worst of it off with his nails.

"You can't tell him I'm here. Not yet. I want to surprise him."

Amara went upstairs to get ready for the big event tonight. She was still pretty disappointed that her mother and father could attend. She drew herself a clean herbal bath and began bathing in it, letting the scent of the herbs and flowers fill her nose. When Amara was done, her mother had chosen out the perfect dress for her to where and Amara was okay with it and didn't argue since her mother couldn't go. Amara didn't like puffy dresses and she was glad her mother took that into consideration. Her mother pulled out a corset for Amara and wrapped it around her chest/waist, they both stood in front of the mirror; her mother in the back of her tightening the corset really tight to show Amara's figure but not that she didn't her figure to be shown. "Mother, that is way to tight!" She squealed as she put her arm on her waist.

"No it's not, you have to look presentable in front of Dracula," Her mother answered and tighten Amara even more by making the knots tighter.

"I understand that, but I can't look presentable if I can't breath." She answered and her mother finished up the last knot. After that Amara put on her dress very carefully and tried not to mess up her perfectly curled hair. It was getting rather late when she finished so her father pulled up a carriage with a coach man driving and they sent her off giving her lots of kisses and telling her to be careful when up there. The carriage went off with Amara and Amara looked at all the trees as she passed by before going up the hill, she saw the whole town from up here.

Jamal, the large 6'7 fellow, would be walking through the village road his eyes would cold and fearless, whilst he was walking down the road he would be drinking water from a canteen, he would place the canteen back into his pocket as he wiped his mouth. He began to speak to himself a quote from the bible which was one of his favorites since he was young.

"Avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans twelve-nineteen"

Anna awoke again when they were reaching the castle. It was imposing, and as they passed under the shadow of the gate she felt a similar shadow pass over her soul. She had a bad feeling about this. She could hear that her mother felt the same, as the older vampire's head was full of worried thoughts. Even her father showed some thoughts of fear, and she could hear him planning escape routes in case things got hairy. What scared her the most though was what the human's brains were like.

The party had passed through a village earlier in the journey, as the route was necessary to reach the castle. As the people living there had spotted them, they had run, their thoughts overtaken with fear. It worried Anne that they should be so scared of vampires. Their servants at home, though they seemed scared much of the time, could at least get close to them, and none of them had ever been scared of her.

Anne's mother stepped out first when the carriage stopped. She was, of course, the older vampire, so she was seen as more important. The human helped her out next, and she lifted her skirts so as to not get them dirty. She had guessed that her parents would use this opportunity to try and find her a husband, so she knew they wouldn't be pleased if she got the dress dirty. Taking a deep breath, Anne followed her mother into the castle.

Amara was getting tired of waiting and she felt very nervous about the big night. She was surprised that the vampires had invited her and her family to the masquerade ball. In this case it was a honor for the vampires to invite the 'lower species' to attend. She heard rumors go around saying that Dracula only invited that amount of people to the masquerade ball because he would feed on those specific people at midnight. Amara shook her head and chuckled saying to herself, "That's not true, because those people who were invited last year came back with no harm done." She said and chuckled again. She looked into her small clutch and took the letter out holding it in her hand for when she had arrived.

Thirty minuets later she had arrived to the castle. The castle was humongous, it over towered everything that surrounded it, there were thousands of rooms and the landscape around her was simply beautiful. A vampire came over to Amara's coach as they pulled up to the main entrance steps, "Are you here for the ball, ma'am?" He asked in a deep voice showing his fangs to her just a little bit whenever he opened his mouth to talk.

"Yes," She said and handed him the letter that was sent to her. She didn't like the fact being called, 'ma'am,' it made her sound so old.

"Right this way," He told her when he finished reading the letter and he opened up the coach door and gave her a hand out. She held her bottom dress high a little bit so that it would get ruined by the mud. When she got out she walked herself up the long stairs and saw her ride leave going to gates to wait for when it was over. The doors to the castle opened in front of her, letting her in.

Anne turned as someone else entered the castle. She could tell it was a human straight away, but her thoughts were not like any other humans she had heard. This girl seemed to radiate confidence and courage in a way most vampires didn't. She half smiled at the girl, wondering for a second whether she should go and talk to her. Her parents didn't seem to be watching, so she headed over to greet the new person.

Amara felt a cold chill from the side of her and she looked to her side to see a vampire walking her way. The vampire that was walking towards her seemed like she was of the higher class and she looked very beautiful in her dress that she couldn't stop staring. She remained her cool and gave a small smile. @FictionalReality

Anna smiled back at the girl. She was wearing a deep blue dress, and she seemed to fit in well with the vampires around her, despite being human. As she reached the girl Anne curtseyed slightly, as she was taught, and nodded slightly. "Hello, I'm Anne" She introduced herself, eyeing the girl's face to see if she was scared. @sprouhtt

"Hello, Anne. My name is Amara, it's a pleasure to meet you." Amara said and curtseyed back at Anne and smiled. She felt Anne starring at her and the only polite thing to do is to make eye contact when speaking, Amara put her hands to the side and looked at the other vampires passing by her. "The scent coming off of you is a very pleasant scent," She said seeing that the girl smelled like vanilla and flowers. This was the first time that she was having a pleasant conversation with another vampire. @FictionalReality

Anne grinned, allowing herself to let go of etiquette "Thank you very much! You smell very natural, like baking and grass. It's quite interesting. I wish I could have to opportunity to pick up the sort of smells you do" Anne's head was already pounding from the large crowd in the same room, and it was likely that this was only half of the guests. She hid her pain as best she could.

Amara chuckled when Anne said that she smelled like baking and grass, but what could Amara expect Anne was a vampire with very limited sense of smells. "Thank you," She said with a small smile, and Amara looked at how the main entrance was filled with blood thirsty vampires and everyone of them who passed by gave Amara a slight smirk hoping to scare her but she remained calm and held tightly to her small clutch. @FictionalReality

Anne saw her mother staring at her for talking to a human, but she ignored her, and looked around "So, you were one of the "lucky" few, I'm guessing" She stated, loading the word lucky with sarcasm.

"Yes, I was." She said with confidence to Anne and she pushed one of her curls to the back since it was bothering her. A man was passing by with a tray that had a few glasses filled with blood for the vampires and the other filled with champagne for the human guest. She took a glass that had champagne in it and took a small sip. @FictionalReality

Anne declined the blood the waiter offered her, worrying that it would scare Amara, before realising that her mother was gesturing subtly for her to leave. She waved slightly to her new acquaintance before heading over to her mother.

Carol questioned her for a few minutes about why she was talking to a human, before giving up and going to dance with her husband. Anne went and sat on the sidelines, wishing she could just read.

Amara waved goodbye and walked over to the ballroom, she walked down the ball room steps

and saw that everyone was dancing, drinking, and mingling with others. She didn't see a human in sight thus leaving her in a room filled with the pale skins. She walked over to a table that was neatly set up and nicely decorated and took a seat, nobody was near because everyone was up dancing and mingling. She tapped her feet along with the orchestra that was playing the beautiful melody that made the atmosphere very light.

She still had her drink in her hand and so she took a big sip of her drink and before she realized it, she was already done with her drink.
