A Vampire and a Fae Walk Into a Bar

Luelle didn't object when he inquired about sitting with them. There really wasn't a need to be rude to him for simply being a vampire. Lucille huffed but said nothing to send him away. It was probably easier for her to keep an eye on her and him rather than try and make him leave. She also knew that if she did go to the bouncers that Luelle's father just might use that as a reason to keep her locked up.

"You seem to come here quiet often," Luelle commented to start an awkward conversation.

"You cold say he's a regular," Lucille commented dryly. Lucille was a regular here as well and had always been able to avoid the vampires that lurked here; at least that what she had told Luelle.

"My apartment is nearby and I come here often to get a love feed and someone for the night." He said, a bit more blunt then he normally would be. It was probably because of the bloodlust. He needed to feed, and soon. Just the thought of sinking his fangs into Luelle's pretty white throat made him grown silently. He couldn't be near them much longer unless Luelle consented... Otherwise he might just lose control.

However he pushed away his misgivings and extended a hand towards Luelle. "Would you care to dance?" He asked, giving her an easy grin. "Nothing more then a dance, I promise!" He laughed, raising his hands up innocently. His drink finally arrived and he took a sip of it, letting the liquid trickle down his throat as he licked his lips, staring at Luelle with his golden eyes.

Luelle felt a slight pang of panic when he bluntly told her the reason behind his frequent visits to Glitter. Lucille had warned her about the type of vampire Kayre probably and it seemed she had been right. Luelle shied away from his slightly as her mind mentally sobered and the allure of dancing with him became something that she would rather avoid. Even after his offer to dance and that it was all he wanted whatever little trust she had towards him had vanished in an instant.

"I don't think that's a good idea," she said a but gloomily.

Lucille frowned at Kayre and motioned for him to follow her.

"I want to talk to you, in private," she nearly growled out.

Kayre's grin faded and it was the most serious expression the two had ever seen him out on. All of a sudden he looked dangerous and ready to kill if needed. A true Vampire. Rising to his feet, he nodded regally and motioned for Lucille to lead the way. Kayre was pretty sure that he knew what She wanted to talk about... His obsession with Luelle. But he couldn't help it... She had bewitched him...

A quick glance beside him and he saw that the bouncers were still watching them, a ready tension clear about them as though they were going to spring at him at any moment. Did they really think he was going to attack them? Well actually... his bloodlust was raging, so perhaps they were right to worry...

Luelle watched as Lucille lead Kayre to a secluded corner of the club a fair distance away. She couldn't hear them over the roar of the patrons or the music but based on Lucille's expression their conversation wasn't a pleasant one. If Luelle hadn't been Aetherkin this situation wouldn't have been so overly complicated. However Fae were obsessed with lineage's and family trees. The fact that her father was unknown lowered her status greatly amongst her own kind but due to her mother being a pure-blood she was a candidate for betrothal in order to keep the weaker bloodline going.

_

Lucille glared at Kayre and was going to be as blunt as possible.

"Give the fuck up. No matter how much you try or push or flirt and even if she has some sort of attraction to you it's not going to end well for her and probably even less well for you. I doubt you have any humanity left enough to care what happens to others so I don't expect any empathy or sympathy from a cursed creature like you."

_

While Luelle was waiting she let her eyes wander the crowd. It was a bit suffocating having so many eyes on her; the bouncers, the bar tenders, and the owners. Lucille usually kept her distracted from the fact she was being watched and now that she was alone she going agitated. It was an impulsive urge to just leave the club and she soon found herself leaning against the cool and hard brick wall a few buildings down from the club. Lucille - who was her friend - also played the role of a bodyguard so she was always being escorted in some manner. It wasn't that Luelle couldn't defend herself exactly but just not as well as Lucille could.

What happened in the next moment was what Lucille had always warned her about when going out alone at night. She saw their auras before she saw them lurking in the dark; two vampires creeping closer. They were coming from both sides of the alley between the old brick buildings. They moved faster than she could as she attempted to push herself away from the brick wall only to be thrown hard back against it.

"It's be ages since I've tasted Fae blood," one of them murmured right before violently biting into her neck.

Kayre was silent for a moment, his golden eyes unreadable. Finally he turned away from Lucille, gaze directed at the ground. "I see." He spoke, voice devoid of any emotion. "I'm not going to try and change your mind about me, but just know that I do care about others. More then you know. And that's why I apologize to you, Lucille, and ask that you give my apologies to-" The smell of Fae suddenly thickened and he knew that somewhere nearby, Fae blood had been spilled. "Luelle." He breathed, and was off in a flash, going as fast as he could.

Sprinting out the door, down the street, it was then he first caught sight of two vampires, feeding from either side of Luelle's neck. Rage filled him, mixed with fear, it was something he had never felt before.... And before he knew it, he was next to them, his blades arching out to slide into both of them. They stumbled away from Luelle with curses, but they were silenced when his second sweep took off their heads. Throwing his blades to the side, Kayre dropped to his knees next to Luelle, who had crumpled to the floor after the vampires had dropped her. How long had they been feeding? Would she even live?

Luelle felt her body grow weaker as the blood left her body and into the mouths of the two vampires. It hurt and her eyes had already watered and tears spilled over her cheeks. It was too painful to even attempt to scream out for help because of how they were biting into her flesh. The edges of her vision were being to show black specks and she was feeling lightheaded.

She had lost a few seconds it seems. She last remember she had been standing and the nest she was on the ground with the world swaying. She was alive - for now - because the pain was still here. Her eyes wandered and struggled to focus on the scene around her. Her attackers had been decapitated and Kayre was kneeling next to her. She could hear Lucille calling out for her to respond but her throat was so dry that all she managed to say was Kayre's name.

Kayre felt something drop into his hands. He reached up and touched his face, fingers coming back smeared with blood. He was crying... tears of blood. Wiping them away furiously, he clamped one hand down on both wounds, trying to stop any more blood loss. "Get a healer." He snapped at Lucille, who had finally caught up to him. "Preferrably a witch if you can find one, although any healing magic would be useful right now." He ordered firmly. Luelle needed treatment and this was not the time to argue. "Contact her family, tell them what happened, I'm sure they have some healers with them."

It was now more then ever that Kayre wished he had healing magic, that he wasn't a vampire, a cursed creature of darkness that could only cause pain and not take it away. He hated the fact that he was forced profile, hated the creature he had become. Hated the man he had been forced to become, in order to stay alive. And despite everything, he wanted this Fae to live, even if it meant giving up his own life. He wasn't important after all.

Lucille pulled out her cellphone and rapidly dialed a number. There was only a single ring before someone answered. She spoke in the Faekin language so quickly that only the most fluent would be able to decipher the words. Once the message had been relayed she hung up and shoved her phone back into her back pocket.

"They'll be here soon and if they see you they will try and either capture or kill you. Even if I told them that you were responsible for stopping the others they wouldn't care. They would still consider you a danger."

((OOC: Short as I want to give you a chance to have him stay or leave X3))

Kayre shook his head, not even taking his eyes off of Luelle for a moment to glance at Lucille. "I don't care." He said, voice hoarse. "I don't care if they kill me. Heck, I probably deserve it. You think so too. That I'm a cruel cursed creature, unable to care for others. You told me so yourself." Trails of blood were sliding down his face again, the only way he could show his true feelings.

Even as he held his hands over the gaping wounds in Luelle's neck, the bloodlust roared for a taste of her sweet blood. Frightened for her life, disgusted by his own desires, he beat it back, unable to face himself if he took more blood from Luelle then what she had already lost.

Lucille sighed in exasperation at the vampire. However before she had a chance to try to force him to leave a fairly large entourage of fae appeared and surrounded the trio in the dark alley. Lucille bowed respectfully to Luelle's father and moved to the side as he motioned her away. He was obviously very displeased as his eyes scanned over Kayre.

"Remove your hands from her," he commanded.

The moment he fell silent two female fae approached Luelle and proceeded to carefully and gently lift her from the ground after they had bound the wounds around her neck. By now Luelle felt as though she was drugged because the sounds around her were muffled and she felt so heavy that trying to lift any part of her body was impossible.

A strange mixture of glamour and fae magic produce something almost like portal which Luelle was taken through. Lucille followed after them but not before looking slightly worried over Kayren and his unknown fate.

"You must be the vampire Kayre. I am Luelle's father Orin. You will understand that I cannot invite you to our home to thank you being the creature that you are I must also thank you for preventing Luelle from sustaining further injury from those two on the ground. However, there is this complicated issue of you having some sort of interest in my daughter. Tonight you saved Luelle and thus I will not harm you. If I find you have sought out Luelle again I will."

With that the entourage left the alley leaving Kayre with the two decapitated vampire bodies.

(I thought her father was unknown... Was I wrong? *smiles*)

Kayre stared after them for a long while before clenching his bloody hands into fists and getting to his feet. Trying to wipe the blood off his face, he couldn't seem to stop the bloody tears from falling. In the many centuries since he had been turned into a vampire, Kayre had not cried. And yet now he was doing so, for the sake of a Fae woman he would never see again. Ah, sweet irony.

Turning, Kayre collected his swords and wiped them on the dead vampires' clothing before tucking them back into their sheaths. Making sure that there was no trace of either Luelle, Lucille, or himself, he then left the crime scene, heading back to his apartment to relax and catch some sleep.

God dammit he forgot to feed!

((No, her father is unknown, this is her adoptive father here.))

Luelle didn't remember anything that happened after being taken through the portal. When she had awoken Lucille informed her that she had been unconscious for three days. Her body felt stiff and her neck was slightly sore but otherwise showed no signs of the violent attack from the two vampire assailants. She wasn't allowed to leave the residence due to her father's orders.

Luelle managed to write a small message for Kayre that she asked Lucille to deliver since Lucille was free to come and go while Luelle was at the compound. The message was simple since Luelle had complicated feelings towards Kayre. It looked as though he had been crying but the tears had been blood. She didn't understand why he would cry over her being injured since they were strangers to each other for the most part. Yet she was drawn to him for some reason all the same.

((Note says: "Thank you Kayre."))

It had been several days since he had received the small note. Thank you Kayre. That was it. Nothing more, no assurances that she would see him again, no nothing. He hadn't seen Lucille since she had told him Luelle was alive and given him the note. It was almost as though the whole thing had been one big dream... Except for the fact that he kept on dreaming about her. Her eyes, her hair, her smile... The way they had danced together that night...

With a curse Kayre slammed the now-empty glass onto the table and ordered another one. He visited Glitter almost everyday now, hoping against hope that he would see the two Fae again. Each night that he didn't, he drank himself into a stupor and went home. He hadn't had a live feed since then. He couldn't, not without seeing Luelle there instead. Heck, he didn't even have sex anymore.

Kayre was on the edge of a breakdown and there was no one there to pull him back.

Lucille had recommended they not actually return to Glitter for some time. However Luelle had wanted to see if Kayre was there so she could see him since she knew the note was rather plain to someone who had saved another's life. So now Luelle was awkwardly trying to deter flirtatious humans from a nearby bar where it seemed mostly college students attended. She wasn't exactly sure what the name of the place was but Lucille had called it a 'wannabe irish pub.'

-

Lucille didn't waste time entering Glitter and seeking out Kayre. She only went as far inside as she needed to get his attention and used her fingers in a come-hither motion for him to follow her so that she could lead him to Luelle. It was probably a terrible idea but since he had saved Luelle she owed him.

The moment he smelled Fae Kayre was on his feet, looking around wikdly. His gaze landed on Lucille and his heart thumped. She was going to take him to Luelle. That had to be the only reason She would show up in front of him again. Breathing fast, he kept his golden gaze locked on her as he made his way through the crowd quickly to reach her.

"Where is she?" He asked, voice hoarse and low. Not speaking for a while and drinking every night had that effect on a guy's voice. But he didn't care. He needed to see Luelle, what he really needed was to feed from her... But seeing her would be enough for now.

Lucille quirked a brow at him as he seemed overly anxious to see Luelle again. She wasn't sure but he looked a bit starved for a vampire which made her nervous. She held up a hand to indicate to him to be silent and then exited the club and didn't speak until they were at least a block away.

"She's at that lame bar called Lucky Clover since humans won't tattle unlike those at Glitter. My only warning to you is that you behave and that this is the only time I'm going to be helpful to you in meeting up with Luelle."

With that she picked up the pace since the quicker they got to the bar the quicker they could leave once Luelle had thanked him.

-

Luelle was nervously laughing as she tried to turn down the row of shots that had been ordered for her by a group of three college aged guys. She didn't trust the drinks here and even less trusted the humans. She was polite even as they started getting a little to aggressive in their friendly touching. The one with her arm over her shoulders was just about to get a nice punch in the gut from her.

The moment Kayre saw her with the young human male, he simply couldn't control himself anymore. He ripped the man away from her, sending him sprawling to the floor. "Get lost." He snarled at the college boy, thankfully managing to keep his fangs under control before he turned to Luelle and lost his breath.

She was beautiful. He hadn't seen her in a while, and she was all the more beautiful for the wait. "Luelle..." He breathed softly, one hand rising to touch her cheek gently. "You're okay." There weren't even any scars... Before he knew what he was doing, he bent down and kisses her. Softly on the lips, once, twice. "You're beautiful." He whispered to her.

Luelle hadn't seen Kayre before he ripped the guy away from her suddenly. While his friends seemed ready to start a fight it seemed the moment they looked at Kayre their instincts identified his as something dangerous. Lucille smirked at the spectacle and din't say anything other than tell them to move along.

Before Luelle could reply to his comment about being okay she felt his lips press against her own which brought a flush to her cheeks. She couldn't say she was unused to compliments or attention but rather this was the first time she felt a strange fluttering feeling. The way Kayre's voice sounded and the feeling or his lips from just moments ago made her pulse quicken.

Luelle was brought of this strange trance when Lucille cleared her throat to announce her presence which caused Luelle to pulled back ever so slightly from Kayre.

"I, uhm, know my note was probably lacking in really relaying my feelings toward you saving me that night so I felt I needed to thank you in person. It seems I owe you twice now since you scared off those guys."

"I know one way you can repay me." He shot back with a grin and a wink, almost automatically as his mind raced to process her words. She had feelings about him? Well then, he could work with that... Perhaps honesty truly was the best way to go.

"To be completely honest - I want you, Luelle. But it's more then that. I can't stop thinking about you. You drive me wild." He swallowed hard. "I can't sleep at night without dreaming about you. I can't feed, or have sex. I kept going back to Glitter, hoping to see you, and then drinking myself silly when I realized you weren't coming. I was on the edge of a breakdown, Luelle - until I finally saw you."

Luelle was stunned by what he said next as it was something she hadn't expected from him. It was an intense desire she had never had another confess to her before and it was a bit... intimidating and confusing. Before Lucille had a chance to interrupt their conversation she looked over to her and there was an unspoken command that Lucille was to give them some privacy for a moment.

Luelle let out a soft sigh and tried to find a way to respond to such proclamations. She had turned down a few others before but she hadn't been attracted to them so this was a new experience. And while she desperately wanted to trust him being a vampire made her automatically slightly wary of possible ulterior motives.

"Kayre did you ever stop to ponder that perhaps whatever you are feeling towards me is an obsession stemmed from a mixture of partial starvation and the fact that I am fae... which sort of automatically makes you want to feed on me."

She was looking him directly in his golden eyes to if any truth was in his reply.

He blinked in surprise at her words before a bitter smile curled his lips. "I may be young compared to those who have loved for millennia but I have spent a considerable amount of my life devoted to gaining control over my bloodlust." His hands clenched slightly before he forced his muscles to relax. "I don't claim to have perfect control - in fact, I would be the first to say that I have lost control many times - but I have at least gained awareness of when my bloodlust is raging."

He paused for a moment before continuing on, determination coloring his tone. "Yes, your Fae blood cells to me, I won't deny it. But what I feel for you has nothing to do with blood, and everything to do with something I thought I had lost centuries ago - my heart. I will not let you use my bloodlust as an excuse. Either you feel the same way, or you do not."

Kayre didn't appear to be lying but she was torn. There was an attraction between them but if she decided to betray her kin she would be hurting more than herself. Lucille and Kayre would both be put into danger. Another sigh escaped her lips and she looked away.

"It doesn't matter in the end. Even if I did feel something it wouldn't work out and too many people would be hurt."

She turned her fae eyes to him with a strange sadness and a small smile. She was going to say goodbye and make this the last time they encountered one another. She wasn't sure she would be able to prevent herself from walking away the next time they met. She stood then and moved to go towards Lucille.

Kayre couldn't believe what was happening. She was leaving him... Emotions bubbled up inside of him and he flinched as pain struck his heart. So after saving her life and exposing his heart to her, she was just going to leave... He breathed slowly, his eyes on the ground in front of him. What could he do?

Suddenly his fists clenched. No. He was not going to let her walk off like this. He was going to fight for her, goddammit! "Luelle." He said, loud enough for her to hear him. "I won't give up on us. I'll fight for what we could have!" He strode towards her purposefully. "I'm not that easy to get rid of..." He said, a smirk on his face.

Luelle turned to look at Kayre after he called her name. It was a mistake to do so since she knew it would only make this more difficult. She knew she should have just turned away from him and continued on her path that would lead her away from Kayre. However she was stuck in place where her head and heart were fighting and it was enough time for him to approach her.

"I know," she replied with a small laugh.
