Fantasy A Swan Lake Story (Lycoris & MusicLuvrNow)

"I think he got me." Odette said softly before glancing to the fairy queen. "What am I going to do? Can you turn me back?"

"I wish I could. Over time a few brave fairies and elves escaped Rothbart's palace. I was able to turn them back into themselves but only from sunset till dawn." She said to the swan.

Odette blinked a bit. "And now?" She asked hopefully. "Please try, I don't want to be a swan for the rest of my life!"

The fairy queen touched her wand to Odette's head as the sun began to set. The elves turned back into humans but Odette was still a swan.
"Come on, work," Carlita urged.
Suddenly, Odette was surrounded by a swarm of light and became human again!

A light surrounded the swan as she was turned back into a human. Sticking her arms out she looked around. "Elbows...fingers." She twidled around happily. "Thank you, thank you!"

"I'll be a swan again..." her gaze fell for a moment. "I can't go home like this! I have to find a way to break this spell." She said looking determined. "There must be some secret to stopping Rothbart."

"There is." The fairy queen said. "In the Book of Forest Lore, but that book can only be opened by the bearer of the crystal. Who will take Odette to get the Book of Forest Lore?" she turned to the elves.

All the elves looked fearful at the idea. "That place is too scary." One elf said. "Nobody's been there for years. Its guarded by a troll with huge feet." Another chimes in.

The elves cowered behind one another until Carlita spoke up stepping forward. "Danger? Troll? I'm your girl."

The fairy queen smiled and a leaf appeared in her palm. "The book is guarded by a troll named Erasmus." She gave Odette the leaf. "Use this to unlock the door to the vault."

The two walked together through the forest as Odette glanced to Carlita. "So, how scary are we talking about?" She asked curiously about the troll.

"Scary doesn't even cover it! Trolls. Beady eyes. Hulking bodies." Carlita said. Odette's eyes widened.
"What?" she said, in disbelief.
"I'm sure that's just a rumor," Carlita assured as they got to the door. "Ok, here we are. Have you got the leaf?"

Nodding, Odette pulled out the leaf as it began to sparkle causing the door to open. She looked skeptical at the door hesitating to walk in.

"At least one of us thinks so..." Odette says softly walking inside as they began looking through the vault of books. "Who goes there!" yelled the Troll.

Odette flinched a bit at the loud booming voice. "I don't know you. And you don't want to know me." The voice warned.

"The Book of Forest Lore!" He yelled. "She gave us this." Odette said soflty holding out the leaf. The shadow of the troll began to move as he muttered thumbing his way down as the shadow grew smaller and smaller before he finally appeared in front of them, very shorter from what they thought he would be. Odette hands him the leaf as the troll sniffs it before smiling. "Haha, Guests!" He said happily. "You're...well..." Odette started

Erasmus smiled to them. " Oh, it's an act. To keep out the riff-raff, you know? Don't tell anybody." He pulled out a stool giving it to Odette. "Ooh, sit down! Make yourselves at home. What can I get you? Tea? Scones? Cake? " He said offering them a tray of baked goods.

"Don't mind if I do." Carlita took a cookie and bit into it, immediately gagging.
"Made them myself," Erasmus said.
"When?" Carlita asked.
Odette subtly put her cookie down on the ground.
