Being here brought back way to many memories. She had two memories attached to this castle one good and one bad and they both just made her slightly depressed. She shook her head trying think of something else. She glance back at the girl again she saw from earlier with the red eyes that looked like her's. The girl noticed and waved happily at her. Tori waved back with a small smile then turned her attention back to the group. Leslie was going on about helping Tori sneak out....wait min....how long were they suppose to be here. She had clients money to make! Though if she was picked.....she shook her head. No she did not want to be queen EVER. She didn't want it. As Tori stood there trying to get her drunken mind to focus she noticed that she was still getting glances from people and not only that they looked worried and in shock and familiar. It hit her some of these nobles had been freaking clients of hers! They would ask her to steal things from other nobles ha! What a interesting night. She suddenly noticed the dancer had made her way to them Leslie was suggesting some food to try out. Tori's eyes made their way back to the Prince. She couldn't help but wonder about him a little bit the longer she was here. Which made her irritated. She was going to run into him sooner or later...should go talk him now or wait? Mom would want me to at least be nice....she thought to herself. "So you guys going to go say hi your cat prince?"

The fairy looked at the dragon raising girl as she tried to tell her that was she was doing wasn't nice. She tilted her head, her face showing confusion. That's what her parents had told her.. why would it not be true? She'd have to ask someone that wasn't so young sometimes. She.. didn't usually speak about things like this. She barely noticed the drunk's tease, turning to face them. "I beleive swarming them like some kind of animals in heat to try to attract his attention wouldn't give the best results, miss." Hopefully her vocabulary was just casual enough that she'd get some points with the drunkard. Her goal... well, of course, she was here to try to be princess. But her education told her she needed to appear as good as she could to everyone she met- Brand image or whatever her parents told her when she was still homeschool about behavior. Although... speaking of the prince, it looked like the cloud of soon-to-be princesses or soon-to-be failures had dimmed lightly. "If you need me, just call out Paula. I'll do my best to help." She waved at the group as she disappeared into the crowd. Slowly making her way to the prince.

Opening her eyes, the succubus found herself back in the ballroom, with the dazzling lights briefly stunning her eyes. She had gotten her share of the refreshing air, and it was now her turn to socialize - albeit against her preference. She was not used to elaborate parties and companies, as it was a part of her shy personality, as well as reclusiveness. Donning the fabrics of exquisite tastes, Sasha was far from comfortable with the party. But of course, it wouldn't hurt to get to know the prince, for she had found no quarrel with the dedication of the royal family to throw such a grand event - or so she thought.

Out of necessities for the future, Sasha quickly ran by her thoughts of her current job. Certain things of old, would perhaps be changed by the hands of the prince. Working up her confidence and unorthodox mindset, the awkward succubus calmed her skipping heart by the red oaks and marbles. Grabbing a pair of stronger liquors from the bar, the nurse chugged it down to acquire her personal boosts of confidence. Her cheeks ran red as she finished her sixth bourbon, before getting up and waltzing her way pass the crowd. Out of desperation, or perhaps it was the alcohol talking, the tipsy succubus minded her steps, as she approached the prince and his companies. Taking note of his bold smile, Sasha knew that her hesitance had cost her, just like before. Quickly tucking her wounded leg behind the other, the succubus lightly lifted her dress, and curtsied the prince in an orderly fashioned that she had done many times before.

Rising from her stance, the lady in white audacious acts would quickly catch the attention of others. Sasha's head turned blank in the aftermath of her acts, both embarrassed and shocked. Her right hand, had found its destination, before retracting towards herself. In the heat of the moment, her immaculate habit had made a fool of herself - for she had unconsciously wiped the prince's cheeks with her handkerchief. Locking her eyes with that of the mysterious prince, the succubus cheek was dyed red like a ripe apple of the harvest, while her trembling hands withdrew itself beneath her bosoms. Hiding her scarlet eyes beneath the curtains of her long white hair, the succubus was beside herself. What had she done? Would the prince reprimand her for a disgraceful act? Sasha fell into the darkness of her falling heart. Perhaps she shouldn't have taken those shots prior and be herself. Even so, she was glad to have had a brief moment of the prince, and now it was time to weather out the repercussions.

"A-Apologies, your royal highness. I-.... Your ears are fluffy! ... Oh dear... " Sasha stumbled on her own words.

The succubus's apologies only trip itself over by her erratic follow up. It was over for her, she said to herself. It would do her best to just go home and return to her work. But she insisted to hold her grounds firm, ready to take responsibilities for her eccentric self. A creature of habit and responsibilities, the tamed nurse locked her feet and found her hands tying itself in the manner of a vigilant hospital corpsman in question.

"Well if she wanted to avoid looking like a lusty animal she shouldn't practically prowl her way over to him." Vita chuckled lightly. "But I already had a dance with him. I'm pretty positive the role of Queen won't be given to me, so might as well let others enjoy his company instead of trying to keep it to myself." She noticed Kana didn't have much to say about herself to the prince and decided to help out, not knowing of Kana's real situation. "She's finding her way in life. Quite a nice thing, actually. Kana watched in a panic as the Prince took her favorite cookie, double chocolate chip, and ate it. It had been the only one she saw on the table. "I take it you like double chocolate chip too?" She asked with a slight pout. Granted she had a plate full of food, but she had been looking forward to savoring every last bite of the cookie.

She turned to Cassie as she started speaking to the Prince once more on her behalf. Were those of higher status usually so kind to others? She started wondering to herself. Finding it all so strange and different from her own experiences. Perhaps it was only because she was a candidate to become the next queen... The thought of possibly becoming the next queen was a little overwhelming and she lost her appetite. Quite a feat for someone so starved of food as she had been.

You were the first one to dance with him so I say your a step ahead. As for me I'm going to avoid him as much as possible." She almost went to pick up a drink then stopped herself. She crossed her arms. "I wish I knew why I was chosen. Why can't these stupid things just pick one girl and move on." Tori said annoyed. She was seeming more sober now and more annoyed. She just wanted leave though she probably could when this ball ends....hopefully.

Landing close to him.. the air around them was close neough to make them chill. It oculd be a good conversation starter. She smiled at the prince and waited for her turn with him patiently.

He was talking with some of the other women now and they did seem to be enjoying his company. Among them was Sasha and even the fairy, Paula right?, made her way over to join the chit chat too.

She swallowed the piece of candy in her mouth and turned back to the ladies beside her again. There was a new face that greeted her now, the dancing woman from before. Tori, the drunk which Twila finally had a name for, was going on about the whole selection process and her plans or something of the sort. “I haven’t really planed anything out,” she admitted sheepishly. Perhaps it was because she didn’t want to think about what could happen or she just assumed her life would go on as it was before. Either way Twila felt embarrassed for her lack of preparation, especially because she’d overlooked so easily. “I’m Twila Pippetwhistle, pleased to make your acquaintance.” Twila held out her hand to the dancer. “Oh and of course do try the tarts, they’re just as delicious as they are fragrant,” she cheered.

He gave a smile at the action and her reply of words, he wondered why she was drunk, when he had seen her before she wasn't...but he guessed everyone was just trying to enjoy themselves...maybe...he should drink too? Once their small group of three had went their seperate ways, the train conductor found herself leaning against a pillar with her arms crossed over her chest, silently watching the proceedings. A hand reached up and fingered the key that hung off her neck, relishing in the biting cold of the metal as it came into contact with her bare skin. She made a mental note to send it to the train station. The Grand Ball was on such short notice that she didn't have the chance to pass it to her engineer, because without it, he wouldn't be able to take over her responsibilities during her absence.

A server had passed her by, and she deftly plucked a flute of champagne from the silver tray he carried. Delicately wrapping her callused fingers around the stem, she watched the calming swirl of the drink within the tall glass. She raised the glass for a sip. Instead of being reprimanded by the Prince, the succubus found his comforting words to be a peculiar, yet endearing response. However unorthodox their greet may be, she was now more than welcomed by the kind prince's offer to let her approach him more physically. It had seemed too rude of her to have already wiped the cookie crumbs off of his face without reproach, but there was nothing else to do but oblige to his words, and perhaps, just perhaps the Prince would learn to like it. Sasha took a step forward, studying his slit pupils that parted the oceans of his blue cold eyes. Her reservations had all but fade by his gossamer, yet firm ears, as her fingers reached for them.

Caressing its soft, and resistant textures beneath her delicate fingers, Sasha explored its thick and thins, like an awe-struck little girl lost in a field of harvest. Curling her fingers, she went ahead and began working her way slowly downwards, scratching it lightly, as if petting an actual cat. The succubus's curiosity was non-verbally opposed by the other ladies, whose words and eyes were conversing with the prince. Sasha retrieved herself from her mindless pleasure in stroking the prince's ears, and chuckled awkwardly, as she stroke her hair.

"That was rather enlightening, your Royal Highness. I apologize for my forsaken rudeness... and absence of social awareness."

As she took her place among the ladies, she would study their approaches, and knew it was none the wiser to keep her silence next time. Despite this, she have gotten her awkward encounter with the prince and was more than glad to learn of his generosities. Sasha took a brief glance at another lady, whose hair was as white as the winter's snow, much like her own. In her eyes, she could feel a sense of uneasiness, as they momentarily caught each other's eyes. Was it her awkward means of acquiring the prince's attention, or was it a bitter concoction of envy? The succubus cast aside her tipsy state, as she made way for her personal words to appease the green-eyed lady in her enchanting apparel. It was, in her thoughts, to make friends, instead of enemies within the course of the Selection, and maybe, just maybe acquire a friend. She carved up a perky, yet humble smile, before speaking.

"I don't believe we have been acquainted. I'm Sasha, Junior Chief of the Royal Army Hospital Corps. Pleased to meet you! Oh... and please forgive me for my rude interruption of your conversation with the prince, it was the alcohol speaking. Besides, his Royal Highness's ears are so peculiar to the eyes, that my curiosity got the better of me. Fufufu..."

The fairy looked at the prince as he spoke. The gears of her brain rapidly turned to reach a good way to introduce herself- first impressions mattered most, after all. From what she'd heard the prince say and do, he wasn't the very noble type- Wich meant a bow would probably just embarass him and was to avoid. But since this still was a rather important meeting, and that she needed to show that she wasn't like the most crude persons there- And she also didn't know him in any way. She chose to simply stick her hand out for a handshake. A simple mistake, she had forgotten that she was still projecting the cold around her- And her hand would be freezing to the touch. "My name is Paula." She paused for a second before continuing. "It's a pleasure to meet you, prince." Her blue wings stretched and hapilly flapping to further show it.

Vita nodded. Neither of them had plans after. It also seemed like Tori would just go back to how things were for her. It was odd to find out that the woman had seen her before. Though it really shouldn’t, any one could pass by and see her when she performed, anyone and everyone. “I will try the tarts on my next plate Twilla thanks.” She smiled a bit at her. Twills seemed...out of it. Likeshe wasn’t really down here on the ground with everyone. “You do bring up a good point though Tori. Personally, I think fate isn’t so straight and narrow. Each of us, have multiple plates to be on at one time. Maybe these crystals, just can see all the paths and let the prince deicds which on he wants?” Vita said a casually, trying not to let old melodies get to her. The fate idea was something her father taught her...said it was what her mother told him....and now Vita is telling Twilla and Tori. She did think It was true, fate is just a bunch of branching paths and it’s up to us to chose at the forks in the roads but fate knows what to do when we chose.

Sasha stood surprised by her Cassie's reciprocal introduction without much displeasure, despite the strange looks in her eyes. The succubus tilted her head slightly in curiosity. Was her intuition and knowledge of humans thus far were incorrect? She pondered a bit, briefly letting out a sigh at her failed attempt to read a human's facade - something she thought she was gradually getting the hang off, but proven wrong. Bamboozled by Cassie's complete tranquility, Sasha drew a long face of defeat, as she showed interests in her field of work, as she herself was fond of teaching, but had little gifts of socialization, as shown recently.

"A teacher... how wonderful! It is a gift that you should treasure, love. Perhaps you would permit me to participate in your future lectures? I do find myself finite in the subject, so I'll be in your care! Fufufu..."

Sashi chuckled lightly with her hand going for a swift salute, showing a bit of her more tomboyish side. The wide-eyed succubus had found it in herself a new thing to look forward to, and a chance to get to know her seemingly friendly teacher acquaintance. Her attention span was now comparable to that of a young child, as Sasha watched in awe at the fairy whose sapphire wings extended forth like a pair of blue curtains that inducts its host with an elegant impression. Sasha followed suit with a few claps to follow the fairy's entrance, whose presence had reminded her of the diverse cast of candidates that stood before her. Sasha was far from worried about the competition aspect of the ball, but was instead awe-struck by the wonderful people that she had met thus far. It was different and awe-inspiring to the succubus, whose initial reluctance had began to gradually dissolve.

Wasn't really a bad thing just kind of funny. Tori's attention went back to Vita who was responding to what she had said about the crystals.

"Not straight and narrow.....I could argue that." But she didn't. Different paths......Oh how Tori would of loved to have taken a different path but she couldn't at least in that's what she thought anyway. "Fate seems to have sense humor if you ask me." She said thinking about the fact she was forced to be in a place where she stole from was hilarious. Tori at this point was feeling pretty sober. So she was a lot more calm and seemly annoyed. "I know it's a ball but damnit I wish they would play some different music." She looked over at the Prince again and....was he letting some one pet him. "Haha guys look the cat boy likes to be scratch behind the ears." Tori said smiling. She then laughed again. "Wow alright I'll admit didn't think he would allow that. To bad he's not a dog be funny to watch him wag his tail." Oh why wasn't he a wolf or a dog that would of been so entertaining but this was good to. None of this was said mockingly she really was just amused.

Greyson held back his purr from the scratching behind his ears and smiled. Those who felt his ears seemed to quite enjoy it. "Hehe I don't mind Sasha, you do act pretty bubbly. I would assume you are a bit drunk but I don't mind, besides what man or prince wouldn't want such beautiful women to touch him?" He chuckled at that last statement and turned to the fairy. "It is nice to meet you as well Paula." The prince smiled more as everyone began to get along with each other. Although this seemed to be the case he couldn't help but think it was some sort of fake persona whilst the competition was going, like a spider waiting to trap a fly in its web. "Is everyone enjoying the party? I was kinda hoping father wouldn't have made it this flashy but I think it's still pretty enjoyable. And oh...why is it that the drunk girl and the others haven't come over here yet? You don't think they dislike me do you?" He didn't mean to say that out loud as his ears went down and he quickly covered his mouth but realized it was too late to take back what he said. He laughed nervously as he didn't notice his ears were still down.

“It’s kind of cruel of fate to do this though,” Twila sighed. To show them an option they didn’t really have control over. Maybe it was good for the Prince, to have options, but for her and possibly for the others, it was just a glimpse of what could be. Chuckling slightly at Tori’s remarks made her cheer up a bit and reminded her that even if she wasn’t chosen she could still choose these ladies to remain her friends. She wondered if that usually happened with the women in the selection.

“It seems like he can do whatever he wants,” she giggled, “I mean have you seen what he’s wearing? It makes all of us look over dressed. Even you Vita!” Twila playfully flicked one of the bells the pink haired woman adorned. She looked back toward the group conjugated around the Prince, scratching his ears. “I kind of like the ears to be honest, and he’s much cuter than the satyrs back home,” she blushed as she recalled the few that would frequent her shop. For the first time since the ball started, she noticed the Prince acting a bit peculiar, his ears were down and he even looked embarrassed? He was covering his mouth now and Twila realized it was only after he’d glanced over towards them that he’d began to act this way...

“Do you suppose he’s talking about us?” She mumbled to her companions. Of course, she could tell when she was being made fun of but, she didn’t think that he’d be so cruel as to do that before even meeting her.

Vita chuckled as she looked over at the Prince, he was indeed being petted. "Heh I don't know, I think as a cat he could be just as amusing as any dog. Do you think he likes sunny spots and fish?" She chuckled. It would be fun to find out, though hopefully those kinds of quesiton won't come off as offensive if she ever did ask him. It was purely curiosity. The dancer chuckled while Twila played with one of the bells on her belt. As Twilla spoke Vita noticed along with her that the Prince seemed to have mentioned something about them and seemed embarrassed by it. "I think he is. He looks.....embarrassed? You guys want to go over and see what's going on?" She suggested. It would be better than to just speculate and cause easily avoidable grief.

Once the purring stopped Kana finally looked back up at the prince and noticed his ears were down and he looked embarrassed. Without thinking she gingerly reached up and began scratching his ears. "You know pet ownership adds years to your life, I wonder if neko boys would have the same effect..." She said to herself with a gentle smile. Though she had embarrassed herself and felt out of place she was truly enjoying herself just by scratching Greyson's adorable ears.
