Fandom A Rose And A Thorn (Shadow x Amy)

"That's the thing. She doesn't like it rough..." Shadow grunted then almost grabbed Sonic to stop him but remembered his spines would hurt if he did so he allowed himself to be knocked back.

((I'm getting some Dragon Ball vibes from this fight.))

Shadow tumbled onto the ground, sand getting onto his face. "Chaos......." He started, getting up and rubbing his face but keeping his eyes closed, "Spear!" Throwing multiple yellow spears at Sonic, Shadow tried to predict where Sonic was and predict where he'll move.

(I'm told Sonic the Hedgehog's been ripping off DBZ for years now. It must have been, because I've never seen DBZ)

Sonic managed to dodge the Spear - it only singed his quills painfully rather than purning him, "You call me a coward, Shadow?" he taunted the dark hedgehog, "You don't have the balls to fight me man-on-man, you always attack from behind, or from a distance!" he swooped in, sweeping Shadow's legs from under him, "You're not even faster than me! You always run on those dumb skates!"

((It is. It's all because of the Super Saiyan. That episode was released in 1991 while Sonic 2 was released a year later.))

"Who needs running when you can hover or glide? I'd say it's a big excuse....and how come you say you are the fastest thing alive....if you couldn't hit Infinite the first time you met him?" Shadow asked

"I sure can say it when Infinite is DEAD!" Sonic retorted. He snatched up the volleyball, revved himself up, and then fired the ball at Shadow, at super-sonic speeds. And at that speed, it really hurt when it hit Shadow in the face.

(I know Shadow's been described as Vegeta 2.0. Shadow Boom's been described as Vegeta x 2.)

"Vex didn't attack me. Vex let me know that you're a disgusting pervert!" Sonic retorted, "Going down on Amy in that limo... What's next, candy in a white van?!" He kicked Shadow in the crotch, hard.

"Shadow! Sonic!" a woman's voice shouted out. Sonic looked up to see Amy running - kind of running, more limping - across the sand, "Please stop fighting over me!"

"Amy!" Sonic practically sighed in relief, rushing over and grabbing her wrist, making her flinch, "Will you just tell this fuzzy black-and-red moron that I didn't hurt you?!" there was a silence, "Amy?"

She looked away from him, staring at the sand. There was a much longer silence as all the colour drained from Sonic's cheeks.

"You... you..." he gritted his teeth, "You're LYING!" He shoved Amy aside roughly, and then performed another spindash at Shadow, this one much harder.

Shadow tried to strike back but was knocked back from Sonic's spindash. "Damnit......you blue-haired.....idiot....." He closed his eyes tightly.

Sonic was just too angry - with Shadow, with Amy, with himself, who knew - to play nice any more. In any case, you couldn't give somebody as powerful as Shadow an inch. He performed a Sonic Wind that knocked the dark hedgehog into a collection of garbage bins, knocking them all over the place.

"Damnit......looks like got no choice...." Shadow said after he slammed into the trash cans. He dug himself out of it and formed two energies in his hands.

Amy rushed in, grabbing Shadow, "No, Shadow! You can't just kill people!" she shouted, trying to stop him from firing off whatever Chaos attack he was coming up with - even as Sonic was running on in for whatever he had in mind.

Unfortunately, Sonic collided with Shadow at that moment, going far too fast to stop, with Amy being knocked aside by the shockwave. They both slammed into the garbage cans again, but Sonic was the one on top. And there was a deep, gouging pain in Shadow's side. It took him a moment to realise that there was a large chunk of a broken bottle lodged in his side, and he was bleeding heavily.

Shadow screamed out in pain and held his side. "Damnit!!" He shouted as he was going to get up. He turned to where Amy was and grunted softly.

Amy shook sand off herself, and turned to him, "SHADOW!" She rushed to his side, and her white glove was stained with bright red. The speed of Sonic's attack had left the glass about four inches deep in his side. Normal people would probably be dead within two minutes, although of course this was Shadow the Hedgehog. But Amy was crying. She was actually crying, actually feeling as she pulled out her cell phone and dialled for an ambulance.

"Ah, crap..." the badly-bruised Sonic muttered, stepping away. He was the good guy, He wasn't supposed to really hurt decent people, even if they were absolute jerks...

Yeah, well maybe you should've thought of that before you hurt Amy, said the nasty voice of slowly dawning realisation in his brain. He was having difficulty not listening to it when Amy was crying over the badly gouged-up Shadow. He pulled out his own cell-phone. About ten yards behind him, Tails was doing the same.

"Don't move, Shadow!" Amy pleaded, grabbing his hand, "Don't touch it! You'll make it worse!"

Shadow removed his hand away from the glass piece and set it on his head. "That would've been foolish of me, wouldn't it, Miss Rose?" He asked quietly as he turned to face her, "That'll require some stitching..."

"It's okay, Shadow, it's okay," Amy was openly crying now, because there was so much of Shadow's blood all over the place. He could heal shockingly well, but that was a LOT of blood he was losing, "Please don't die, I..." she sniffed, taking both of his hands, "I love you..."

"Oh geez," behind her, Sonic turned away. Then he vomited into the trash can, "I did... I actually did..."

"Shadow?" Amy piped up again, her voice shaking. There was no telling what that chunk of glass had torn up inside him, "Say something..."

Shadow had closed one eye and stared at Amy with the other. "I'm alright.....just..it's just a flesh wound." He responded, trying to reduce her worry just a tad bit by laughing a little. He smiled at her and moved his hand to her cheek. "It'll be much tougher than this to kill me..... I've survived multiple things that are destructive enough to kill me....but I beat them....this will be no different." Shadow said then he turned to Sonic, "Blue idiot! Heh....heh....you've still got your old shit to deal with....and your old moves...change them up for a bit....if I decide to spar with you again....because I hate you."

Sonic looked at Shadow, and then at Amy, whose gaze dropped when he tried to meet her eyes. For the first time in his life, he had no idea of what to do. Because he'd genuinely hurt Amy. And all he could do about it was wish he hadn't, "Fine. Keep her," he told Shadow bluntly, walking away. He felt like his head was filled with static right now and if he didn't get away from the two of them he'd go crazy. He just wanted to throw up until he could throw up the memories of thinking Amy had actually liked it.

He felt awful for not wanting to go to prison for this.

Shadow's hand left a smear of blood on Amy's cheek. She slid her hand under his head, and moving aside the garbage he'd been knocked into, since it would be too dangerous to move him. She held onto his hand tightly, "That's right, it's not any different," she insisted, trying to convince herself and yet still terrified she'd lose him. The glass was almost four inches deep in his side, "You're going to be just fine..."

They could hear the wail of the ambulance approaching.

"Amy..... don't leave me, alright? Just don't leave me. You promise?" Shadow asked, relieved that more fighting didn't break out as he was in pretty bad shape already. He squeezed Amy's hand gently as his smile grew a little more but it was a pained one.

"I won't ever, ever leave you, Shadow," Amy promised him instantly.

The ambulance pulled up though, and Amy was forced to let go of Shadow's hand just so that he could be moved onto a stretcher and into it. Still, at least she was allowed to come in to travel with him.

The paramedics were currently trying to staunch the massive flow of blood. It was mostly because of where the glass had gone in and Ultimate Lifeform or not, if Shadow didn't get a transfusion soon, he'd have less blood in him than a walnut. He was currently undergoing an emergency transfusion of blood to prevent heart failure. Amy was able to hold his hand but there wasn't enough room to sit next to him. She squeezed it, but she could see the paramedics looking curiously at the bruises on her that had developed even further from Sonic's recent attentions, and she was ashamed of them, looking away.

(twenty minutes later at the hospital)

Shadow was on another transfusion of blood. And Amy simply wasn't allowed in the room while he was being stitched up. She had to sit outside, despite the promise she'd made. Shadow only had the doctors to talk to as they attemtpted to save his life.

"You're lucky to be alive, Shadow," the doctor told him, "Most men would have either died from the lack of oxygen to the brain, or suffered fatal heart failure from low blood pressure. I suppose that kind of resilience can be expected from the Ultimate Lifeform. How's the pain? Be honest."

Shadow grinned at the doctor and chuckled lightly. "It hurts like hell...I don't think I've felt like that since I fought Solaris with Sonic and Silver." He told the doctors, "I think.....I'll be alright. I ain't dying on Amy anytime soon."

"Hmmm... your girlfriend?" the doctor agreed, checking to make sure that all of the glass had been taken out of his belly, "Did she get caught in the fight? She looks a little... worse for wear."

"No.....she wasn't harmed in the fight. That is alright....and she...is my girlfriend. I love her with my life." Shadow said as he moved his hand onto the bed, "I still can't get up, can I?"
