A Pokemon Journey!

Spencer grinned, "Dodge it, Kips! Now let's finish it up quick with Mud Bomb!" she called out. She was winning the battle. Spencer was winning the battle, grinning. She shot a look at her rival, smirking. Her eyes glinted with the saying 'So's who's the better trainer, me or you?'

Her unusual small Marshtomp threw his flippers up in the air with a large sphere of mud forming inbetween. Then he spun around and swung it at the Nose pokemon with ease.

[dice]3925[/dice]

(( Gosh, Roxanne is having bad luck here xD I'mma laugh if you do roll a 1 ))

"Dodge that attack, Nosepass!" Roxanne ordered.

The pokemon jumped to the side, and the attack hit harmlessly on the spot where the pokemon once stood. Nosepass looked up at Marshtomp and grinned.

"Nosepass, tackle!" Roxanne ordered.

Nosepass ducked his head and charged head on towards Marshtomp.

[dice]3926[/dice]

(Should a ten be a critical?)

Spencer bit on her bottom lip as the Nosepass tackled harshly against her starter pokemon was thrown back, skidding against the rough ground. "Kipple! Are you okay?!" The brunette called out, tempted to run over and check her pokemon for injuries. Her Marshtomp grunted as he struggled to stand up. It was a critical hit and it took a lot out of him, considering he was a bit worned out from the previous battle. "Kips, are you okay?" Spencer repeated. Her Marshtomp looked behind her and grinned, nodding. Spencer sighed out in relief, "Are you sure? Do you want to come back?" The trainer asked. Her Marshtomp shook his head.

"Alright...if you say so. Quick, Kips use Mud Bomb!" she commanded, throwing her arm out. Her Marshtomp stood back up and threw his flippers into the air, the sphere of ball forming already.

[dice]3954[/dice]

Roxanne couldn't hide her smile, she knew it was only one hit out of the 5 or 6 that her Nosepass had missed, but it was still a critical hit, which made up for the misses. She watched as Spencer ordered her pokemon to use Mud Bomb, and she knew she had to throw an order out there fast.

"Nosepass! Dodge that attack!" She ordered.

The Nosepass attempted to dodge the attack, but was too slow and allowed the attack to hit him straight on, and knock him within a few inches of Roxanne. She grunted and helped the pokemon up, before giving it an order.

"Nosepass, use rock tomb!" She ordered.

The Nosepass shook it's head to clear the daze and threw rocks at the Marshtomp.

[dice]3957[/dice]

"Alright, I'm done with all these special attacks! Kip, quick dodge then use Brick Break!" Spencer ordered, as she clutched her hand into a fist, her eyebrow furrowed.

Her Marshtomp dodged the rocks with the high speed it had and moved to the side, running toward Nosepass with his flipper glowing. He brought his hand up and then back down with such speed, hoping to hit his target.

[dice]3958[/dice]

The Nosepass flew and smacked into a huge rock that lay on the battlefield, shattering it into a few smaller rocks.

"Nosepass....." It said, before fainting.

Roxanne sighed, and withdrew the fainted Nosepass and nodded at Spencer. Lukas threw his hand up in the air, signalling that the battle was over.

"Roxanne is out of useable pokemon, Spencer is the winner of this battle." He said.

Roxanne bowed to Spencer, turned, hopped off the stage, and disappeared below before resurfacing with something in her hand. She crossed the field and held out a badge to Spencer.

"Here, the Stone Badge is yours. Congrats on winning." She said with a smile.

Spencer's eyes widen as she watched the fainted Nosepass return to it's pokeball. A big smile broke through her face as she glanced at Lukas as he declared the winner. She then looked at her pokemon and squealed, running over and hugging her starter pokemon, "Kipple, we did it! We beat our first gym!" Spencer cried out, cuddling her pokemon. Her Marshtomp cheered, hugging his trainer back once again.

The pair looked up at Roxanne who presented them the Stone Badge. Spencer stood up, with Kipple in her arms and smiled, thanking Roxanne as she received her first badge. "Thank you so much for the battle, Roxanne! I really enjoyed it," Spencer said with a bright smile. The girl looked at her pokemon, thanked him as well and returned Kipple for some rest. "You did great, Kips. You can rest now."

Roxanne watched with a smile as Spencer embraced Lukas, giggling, "I won! Lukie, I won~! Ha-ha! That's how you be a great trainer! And I have the badge to prove it," she teased, keeping her arms locked around his neck.

Lukas laughed and hugged Spencer back.

"Good job, Spence, I knew you could do it." He said. "Now I guess it's my turn huh?"

He held on to her for a while longer, pulled away and gave her a quick peck on the forehead, just he's done since they were young.

"Root for me, yeah?" He said.

He walked away and over to the spot where Spencer had stood just moments ago.

"I'm ready, Roxanne."

Roxanne smiled at Lukas, "Is that so? Give me a moment to heal up my pokemon then I'll be right back, okay?" the gym leader smiled as she was about to exit the GYM.

"Alright!" Spencer smiled, her face a bit warm from the peck Lukas gave her. She turned to Lukas and smiled, "Our adventure is at a great start!" She giggled, holding onto her bag strap. "After your battle, I made us some lunch so we don't have to waste any money~ then off to the next town, right?" The brunette sat on the bench, taking out Ciel's pokeball and letting her out.

"Swa!"

"Hey there Ciel! I won!" Spencer grinned. Her Swablu chirped, smiling as she hugged her trainer in congratulations. Spencer giggled as her feather tickled her face, "Thanks! Next time, I'll be sure to use you and Horise...hopefully, for the next gym battle," she smiled, her voice waving at the mention of Horsie. "I think before then, I'll probably try to get along with Horsie," the trainer said, looking up at Lukas.

"Yeah, we'll be off to Dewford City. I heard there's an old man that sometimes takes people on his boat to Dewford, maybe if we tell him that we're on a journey he'll help us." Lukas said. "But first I've got to get the Rock Badge, just like you, yeah? But what's for lunch?"

Lukas's stomach rumbled as he asked about lunch, the dude was always hungry it seemed. And running around the Hoenn region wasn't a big help either, Lukas was kind of glad they got money from defeating trainers too. That why they could buy ingredients to cook, or just go to a restaurant in general. He was taken from his thoughts when he heard Ciel flying around and her congratulations. Lukas reached up and petting Pikachu who cooed in response.

"I can't use you in this pokebattle, Pikachu. Your attacks won't even hurt rock pokemon, I'm sorry about that, Pikachu." Lukas said,

He patted Pikachu on the head, who nodded in response. His only chances where Combi and Sphea, and hopefully he would win. He definitely didn't want to be shown up by Spence, his rival.

"Thanks! Next time, I'll be sure to use you and Horise...hopefully, for the next gym battle," Spencer's voice said. "I think before then, I'll probably try to get along with Horsie."

Lukas snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Spencer who seemed to be speaking to him.

"Yeah, I think you'd ought to try using her more in a battle. At least until she gets comfortable with you." He agreed. "Just show you're trying your best to get along with her."

Spencer sighed as she cuddled her pokemon, "I'm really getting impatient with her..I just want to be friends," she murmured as stroked her bird's fluffy feather. She then looked up to find Roxanne had returned.

"Sorry for the wait. Lukas, are you ready?" the GYM leader smiled as she walked over to the two. "I'm excited to see how you battle as well," she said, walking to her side of the battlefield. "Demonstrate it for me, hmm? Geodude, let's battle once again!" she called out, throwing her pokeball.

Spencer grinned at Lukas, "Good luck Lukie~"

"Raising and training pokemon takes patience, Spence." Lukas said.

He opened his mouth to continue when Roxanne walked back into the gym.

"Sorry for the wait. Lukas, are you ready?" Roxanne said as she approached the two. "I'm excited to see how you battle as well," she said, returning to her side of the field. "Demonstrate it for me, hmm? Geodude, let's battle once again!" she called out, throwing her pokeball.

Lukas softly flicked Spencer on the forehead, gave her a smile and walked to his side, with Pikachu still riding on his shoulder. He reached down and grasped Combi's pokeball before bringing it out and up to his lips.

"Come on Combi, I know you can do it for me." He whispered. "Combi, I choose you!"

He tossed the pokeball out, and Combi lept out of his pokeball into a fighting stance.

"Combi!" It said, awaiting orders.

"Combi, just like the first Geodude, use Brick Break and aim for knocking it out in one turn." Lukas ordered.

[dice]4027[/dice]

"Geodude, take the attack then counter with Tackle!" Roxanne commanded, pointing at Combusken. "We're not gonna give you the Stone Badge easy too, Lukas. My pokemon and I will battle with all our strength!" she smiled, "You'll do that too, right?" she grinned.

Spencer smiled at the GYM leader. Roxanne was a nice lady, who only seemed a few years older than Lukas and her. She was obviously experienced with her pokemon battles, but seemed to underestimate her challengers. Spencer guessed it was because there were challengers who were actually prepared for the gym battle.

A grunt from the rock pokemon snapped Spencer back to the battle as she watched the Combusken smack the Geodude's head hard, docking off a lot of HP points in a matter of minutes.

Lukas shrugged at Roxanne with a sly smile on his face.

"Maybe I will, Roxanne." He said. "But I think you'll find me a tougher opponent than Spence, who do you think taught her?"

The grunt from the rock pokemon brought Lukas back to the battle, and he smiled. Combi landed and was suddenly tackled by Geodude, knocking off a few points off his health.

"Combi, use Double Kick!"

HP: 14/15

[dice]4034[/dice]

Combi flipped around, aiming for Geodude with his left leg, super effectively kicking him across the field. The combusken ran up and kicked him again, throwing him against the wall of the gym.

Roxanne stared at the Geodude in surprise, "Geodude! Are you alright?" A grunt responded from Geodude as he peeled himself off the wall and back onto the battlefield. "Alright. Use Rock Tomb!" she called out.

HP: 6/15

[dice]4065[/dice]

"Combi, dodge and use double kick knce again!" Lukas said. "Take him out this time, Combi, let's show Roxanne how we do things!"

Combi looked over his shoulder and nodded at Lukas, before turning to face Geodude, who had already thrown the rocks. Combi back flipped, front flipped and dodged each rock that was thrown at him until Geodude stopped his attack.

"Now, Combi! Use Double Kick!"

HP: 14/15

[dice]4068[/dice]

As the Combusken successfully knocked out Roxanne's first pokemon, the gym leader smiled at Lukas. "You are quite strong, I must admit. I'm glad you're trying your best. Now it's my turn! Nosepass, come on out!" she called out as she threw her pokeball. The Nose Pokemon appeared once again, ready for another battle. "Nosepass, use Harden! Don't allow Combusken to put a scratch on you!"

The Nosepass grunted as his whole body shined with silver, rising his defenses up.

HP: 15/15

Lukas grunted at Roxanne, and looked over at Combi.

"Alright, Combi, you know the drill. Use Double Kick!" He ordered.

Combi nodded, and rushed forward towards Nose, and jumped into the air to deliver it's attack.

HP 14/15

[dice]4260[/dice]

"Dodge! Now quick, use Rock Tomb!" Roxanne called out, pointing toward the Combusken who just barely missed his move. The Nosepass dodged with ease, as he threw rocks up into the air and hurled them toward the fire-pokemon.

Spence stood at the sidelines biting her bottom lip as she watched the battle. She hoped Lukas will win, but he didn't have a type advantage, meaning the battle will probably go on longer than usual.

[dice]4297[/dice]

Lukas grunted in disappointment as Combi's attack missed, allowing the Nosepass to retaliate and use Rock Tomb.

"Combi, dodge and use Brick Break!" Lukas ordered.

Combi tired his best to dodge the nosepass's attack, but a few of the rocks grazed the Pokemon, knocking him aside a few feet. Combi shook his head and refocused on the Nosepass.

"Combi!" It roared with a feeling of determination.

It rushed toward Nosepass, lept into the air and brought its hand down towards the Nosepass's head.

HP 13/15

[dice]4298[/dice]

"Dodge again then repeat the same move!" Roxanne called, getting fired out once again as she commanded her pokemon to make her move. The Nosepass once again threw rocks into the air and hurled it toward the Combusken, dodging his move.

(( forgive me for such short reply DX ))

[dice]4320[/dice]

"Combi! You know what to do!" Lukas ordered. "Dodge it and attack with double kick."

Combi leapt out of the way, turned and dashed off towards Nosepass, and leapt into the air to deliver it's attack.

[dice]4341[/dice]

As the Combusken kicked Nosepass with his feet, the rock pokemon grunted as he thrown back, having no time to recover as the attack happened once again. The pokemon groaned as she sat up, refusing to go down easily. Roxanne worried for a moment, seeing her pokemon in a weak state and decided her pokemon is her first priority, "Nosepass!"

HP: 9/15

The young gym leader ran into the battle, holding a potion in hand. The girl sprayed Nosepass's wounds, before smiling and heading back to her spot. "I'm not letting you win so easily, Lukas." She called out.

HP: 15/15

Lukas crossed his arms and watched the gym leader doctor her pokemon. It was only delaying the inevitable, which was him using.

"Alright, Combi, use Brick Break, and finish this up!" Lukas order.

"Combusken!" The Combusken said.

It dashed towards the Nosepass, leapt into the air, and brought it's hand down on it's head.

[dice]4353[/dice]

"We're not letting you win so easily! Dodge and use Rock Tomb!" Roxanne called out as she threw her hands out. The Nosepass dodged the super effective move, gently gliding onto the other side with a grin. Using her pokemon powers, the pokemon threw the rocks into the air and began to hurdle them toward Combusken.
