Fantasy A Pirate's Life For Me CS

how should I jump in? Like what's happening in the rp?
Right now there is an interaction between Antonio, Maxwell, and Naddie on the Tynedale. An interaction between people on the Renascence, and I believe there is a fight that has either broken out or is about to break out

You may want to ask others as they probably have a better understanding of their current situations

Role
Quartermaster

Ship
Tynedale

Personality
Abel is a hard worker. He takes his job as Quartermaster seriously. He knows he’s on the younger side of the crew, and he feels that he needs to prove himself, especially to the people whom have seniority over him. He usually acts very mature to make himself seem older. Despite his maturity, he’s known to take flights of fancy. He’s a romantic and is adventurous, and sometimes it can blind him to the gruesome reality that is being a pirate. He knew what he was getting into when he signed on as a pirate, but sometimes the things that they do still shock him. Though he can defend himself when need be, he would much rather be the brains of an operation than the brawn. Abel is also a bit awkward. He’s not exactly what you would call charming, spending most of his time in the pages of a book. Though, when he finds someone that can talk about books with, he can talk for hours. Abel is also loyal. He has a great respect for his captain and his crew and will do whatever he can to fight for them. Though he’s not blindly loyal. He does evaluate the Captain’s decisions and will question him when he thinks a decision is not reasonable.

Background:

When the name Abel Baudelaire is spoke, many natives of his home Island think of the wide-eyed little boy, who clung to his mother’s skirt when brought out for social events. From the outside, Abel’s childhood was a blessed one. The son of a wealthy family, Abel was spoiled rotten, and the things he loved the most were books. He loved the action and adventure in the stories. He was an intelligent boy, reading at a very young age. He soaked everything up like a sponge. He did well in his studies and as far as his family was concerned, he had a lot of potential.

Despite having all the comforts of belonging to a wealthy family, Abel never felt right. He hated the manners and rules of civilized society. All he wanted was to be free from the restraints of being wealthy. He loved the sea and always dreamed of being free on the open sea.

Abel’s life would change drastically with the news that the Tynedale was looking for hands to help with the ship. It was a spur of the moment decision on his part, but he knew that he couldn’t keep living his life like he was now. He didn’t want to be stuck living a normal life. He wanted, no, needed adventure and excitement in his life. Unfortunately for him, the crew wasn’t exactly looking for “a snobby rich boy who wanted away from daddy’s rule.” They laughed at him, saying he wasn’t exactly pirate material.

Abel sat in the back of tavern, listening to the pirates joke and carry on. Though something was wrong with the atmosphere. The pirates were drunk and hardly coherent, when a group of men challenged them to a fight. Abel watched as they fought, when he noticed one of the men pulling out a gun and aiming it straight at one of the crew members. The crew member thought he was done for when suddenly, a bottle crashed over the man with the gun’s head, knocking him out. The man holding the broken bottle? It was Abel. Seeing this act was enough to gain enough respect from the crew to let him aboard the Tynedale.

Abel worked as part of the crew on the Tynedale for a few years. Though he wasn't much of a fighter, Abel played a key roll in a particularly brutal battle He executed a plan that in the end won the Tynedale a large bounty and sunk three enemy ships. Afterwards, the crew elected Abel as the crew's new quartermaster.

Today, Abel has settled in quite nicely in his role as the Quartermaster of the Tynedale. He likes the power he’s given, and he proves that he is meant for the job everyday. His education gives him a leg up when negotiating with people, representing the group as more than just blood-thirsty marauders.

Zaccheus Cavalry

They say piracy is either madness or brilliance---its remarkable how often those two traits coincide, eh?
Zaccheus Cavalry

40949c3a3b9744f8a5b016dd9187ca84.jpg

{Zaccheus is the bottom guy---ignore the other one}

Age:

24

Gender:
Male

Role:

Quartermaster

Ship:

Renascence

Personality:
Zaccheus absolutely adores adventure. He is a stickler for taking risks and can never stay in one place for long. Though he can't read or write very well, he's a clever guy with a keen sense of direction. It seems his only talent is being able to tick people off, be an asshole, be an extraordinary swordsman, and a persuasive talker. He is very reckless, strong-willed and the best part about him is that you never really know what side he is truly on, nor can you truly decipher his motives. He actually used to be quite decent, but because of a love-breaking past, he's turned into full-on pirate asshole mode.

Background:
Zaccheus was the result of a one-night stand between a whore and a drunk one cold winter night. His prostitute mother was named Patricia and the father, to Zaccheus, would always be unknown.
First of all, Zaccheus was meant to be a mistake. An accident. He was never meant to be. Yet there he was, and his life would be anything but easy. Luckily for him, Zaccheus's mother never gave up on him. But that didn't make her the ideal mother. Often, she'd leave her son all alone to go off with another drunkard, and come back home wasted and sore. Zaccheus grew up with a mother who regularly neglected him, not really caring what he did or what would happen to him. And so, Zaccheus was introduced to the city streets.

He was a pickpocketer extraordinaire, a terrific thief and an amateur at acting. He often stole to get what he needed to survive, and often never came back home for days on end, going off on dandy little adventures. But it didn't really matter---his mother wouldn't even acknowledge his presence even if he was there. It was hard living like that---poor, uneducated and neglected. Thankfully, Zaccheus had an unusually bright and humorous personality, which helped him a lot during hard times.

Zaccheus witnessed his first swordfight at age nine while he was at the market, doing his usual pickpocketing and thievery. Suddenly, two pirates came barging into the streets, in the middle of an intense swordfight. Zaccheus had been entranced with the art ever since, so much so that he even approached one of the pirates, (this was the pirate who had won the battle) inquiring him to teach the young boy to swordfight. Usually, pirates were thought to be spiteful and vile in nature---people who wouldn't hesitate to run a sword through ya. Luckily for Zaccheus, this pirate was rather lighthearted and witty (think good ol' Cap Jack Sparrow), but that didn't mean he had jumped right away at the prospect. He let Zaccheus off, denying him. He had a reputation to uphold, a repute that declared him one of the most notorious pirates of them all. The pirate didn't have the time to teach some street boy.
But Zaccheus wasn't about to give up. He kept nagging and nagging the pirate, every day, all day. Inevitably, Zaccheus impressed the pirate with his humorous persona and sharp tongue, but it wasn't enough to persuade him. Finally, the turning point came when the pirate was knee-deep in trouble one crisp morning---chased by the royal authorities throughout the city. At one point, the pirate was cornered at an alleyway near the harbor, surrounded by the royal guard. There was no way out. Suddenly, eight-year-old Zaccheus came flying to the rescue, armed with fifty barrels, a rope and a whole ton of pure genius. He had been on the flat rooftops that whole time, waiting for the right moment to unleash a legion of barrels (that were stored on the rooftops) that would rain upon the soldiers down below. Zaccheus had hatched his plan, and worked out flawlessly. As the soldiers scattered to avoid being smushed by barrels, Zaccheus made a bargain with the pirate. Either he could save himself the pain of trying to escape the barrels himself, or he could climb the rope Zaccheus would give him, all the way up to freedom and safety, IF he taught Zaccheus how to handle a sword. Having no choice, the pirate agreed and was brought all the way up to safety. They shook hands on it. That was the day Zaccheus gained himself a mentor, and a father he never had.

Almost a year into training, Zaccheus was doing very well. He was naturally talented in the art of sword fighting for a ten-year-old. But his chance to prove this talent came in the form of a group of siblings getting harassed by a couple of dangerous-looking men one beautiful summer's eve. Zaccheus was roaming the slum streets, as usual, pickpocketing unsuspecting men and women as they passed by. The siblings were dressed in commoner's clothing, to avoid gaining attention or suspicion of their noble status. However, this did not stop three dangerous looking men from approaching them, wicked glints in their gazes. Zaccheus suspected them to be kidnappers---people who stole and sold children as slaves to gain profit. Zaccheus watched with caution as the eldest, a girl, tried to stand up to them, but to no avail. She was struck down, about to be beaten once more if it hadn't been for Zaccheus's intervention. A stroke of genius led the boy to approach the man about to hit the girl quietly, a large rock in hand. Before he could strike the girl, the man had been knocked unconscious, falling to the ground to reveal a mischievously grinning Zaccheus, hand on the hilt of his sword. The other two men lunged at the boy, who fought them off with his sword impressively. Soon, all bruised up and scratched, the men ran off, leaving them all alone.
Zaccheus had been triumphant, and moments later, surrounded by younger siblings, adoration, and awe in their gazes. Zaccheus, wanting to be a gentleman, even helped the eldest girl up, who was no older than he was. She thanked him, a relieved smile on her face, with a hint of awe as well. Zaccheus offered his name, and so did she: Azalea Juniper. It was a brief meeting, unfortunately. Minutes later, she and her siblings were on their way home, while Zaccheus headed to the dwelling of his mentor, now like a father to him. Though it was brief, Zaccheus could never forget the meeting, could never forget the girl he had met. Little did he know, it was the beginning of a life-long friendship.

Zaccheus and the girl had met several times again. Apparently, she too, couldn't seem to get rid of the memory of Zaccheus, and he was strangely happy to hear that. They kept meeting up, under the cover of night, at the same alleyway where Zaccheus had saved her and her siblings months before. Their acquaintance blossomed into a friendship. However, the friendship had to overcome many obstacles. It seemed both Zaccheus and Azalea hid secrets from each other. At one point, as their friendship was in the early stages, it was around this time that Zaccheus had learned Azalea's true identity: Azalea Peterova. It didn't take long to uncover the truth, but Zaccheus was disappointed that Azalea had lied to him. Now that he knew she was a famous noble's daughter, a rich girl, he sensed a divide between them. A divide between their friendship. His mentor would've hated to know that Zaccheus was friends with a nobleman's daughter, especially when that nobleman was currently trying to capture the pirate, and it was vice versa for Azalea and her father as well.
However, Zaccheus had also kept secrets. He never told Azalea about his mentor being the man her father wanted to kill, about how the man was a pirate. He never told her about how he was learning to swordfight, and when she discovered the truth, she too, was disappointed. But the friendship still carried on, despite the setbacks.
Years passed. Zaccheus was a complete master at the art of swordfighting, even managing to beat his own mentor. Zaccheus, with the help of his pirate adoptive father, was being taught all the ways of navigating and sailing and hand-to-hand combat. He had even begun to teach Azalea some, while she taught him to dance (he was a complete klutz). All the while, their friendship grew into something more. They weren't sure if either had noticed, and it was awkward like that. Nevertheless, both were sure of one thing.
They were falling in love.
Dangerous love.
They both knew they could never be together, they both knew it would mean punishment, maybe even death. Zaccheus was the adoptive son of a pirate, directly associated with an offender of the law. Azalea's father would never accept their love.
And he didn't have to.

At one point, Zaccheus and Azalea had gotten into a terrible fight. Recently, it had become too dangerous for pirates to be on land. That meant Zaccheus's mentor/father had to flee by ship, and offered his student to come along with him. To become a pirate. And Zaccheus agreed. He tried to convince her to come with him, but she refused. Azalea couldn't accept it. She couldn't bear to see Zaccheus become one of those nasty mongrels, who slew and pillaged whoever and whenever they wanted. It practically broke her heart. And she wasn't about to become one of them either. It was a terrible argument, and many hurtful words were said, feelings hurt. They separated, to nurse their broken hearts back to health once more.

Azalea was being sold off.
Sold off to another man, to another life, to another love.
Zaccheus was heart broken. Just days after their argument, he had heard the news that Lady Azalea Peterova was being arranged to marry, according to a business deal. Bitter and broken, Zaccheus left with his mentor, thinking Azalea had betrayed him. He became an expert at pirating, and is now aiming for the spot of Quartermaster in the Renescence.

He became an expert at pirating, and is now aiming for the spot of Quartermaster in the Renescence.

b356a852fbc90508044ab025e2d9713c--pirate-wench-pirate-woman.jpg
Role:
Stow away
Ship:
Tynedale
Personality:
Amanda is seen as fiery, she is known for causing trouble and fights and is pretty good around people. She is one hell of a fighter and is usually looking for a crew and is known as being a stow away in a lot of ships to get to places to find a new crew. She is very stubborn and determined and cold hearted most of the time. (Almost like a Jack Sparrow but more violent, less amusing, less pleasing, less adventurous, less badass, and a girl)
Background:
Amanda was born in Italy, her father was a drunk and later died. Her mother working as a prostitute couldn't look after a child so left her daughter on the steps of an orphanage. She was given the name Amanda Espacito, Espacito meaning that she was an orphan and was abandoned. She grew up in the church but later rebelled against them, she started off as training herself to become an assassin, and was in that business for around five years and joined her best friend's crew as his first mate.

Her and the captain started a relationship but he was caught stealing from a merchant ship, and was later executed, she looked after the crew since they trusted her for many years but they ended up leaving her when she was caught as a prisoner on the Renascence after she tried to steal from them. She ended up escaping one night when they docked and she moved onto the Tynedale as a stow away waiting for them to dock again so she can find a crew or join one.
Skills:
She is one hell of a fighter, she isn't one to give up, she fights for want she wants but she doesn't always get it. She mostly uses her fists in a fight and her gun. She can't give all the best speeches though. Another skill is that she knows how to get out of things but in the worst way possible
Weapon:
She is good with a gun so she uses her 3 barrel flintlock pistol

Name:
Deidra Muertos Khan

Nickname:
Dei("DAY"), Khan, "Mouse"

Age:
22

Gender:
Female

Appearance:
Her black hair goes to nearly the middle of her back. Her eyes are a muted and colourless shade of blue, making her pale face seem no less ghostly. Two symmetrical blood-red tattoos stretch from her jawline to almost the corner of her eyes. Although her body is toned, she's often covered in a thick cotton cloak. Her underclothes consist of a loose, thin white shirt and tight leather pants with a dozen pockets, some within other pockets. Her boots are thick leather as well, appearing a size or four too big.
Around her neck hangs the canine teeth of an assortment of animals. Chainmail and metal jewels hang in her hair while she has two amber earrings and two small metal ear cuffs. Covering her hands and lower forearms are black(yet again leather) gloves.

Role:
Quartermaster

Cosmos Cosmos [I hope this is alright. There aren't any more open roles, to my knowledge :p]

Ship:
Renascence

Personality:
Gullible. She isn't at all simple-minded, but rather naive. Deidra trusts others with more life-experience to be more knowledgable... and honest. On more than one occasion, she's been made a fool by childish games.
Passive. Particularly hates potentially-violent drama. She avoids conflict unless her altruism gets the best of her. If someone picks an unfair fight, she's more than willing to throw punches.
Calm. It's difficult to make her upset. Going hand-in-hand with her passifism, she tends to be laid-back, especially if someone tries to push her to the edge(in which case she will aggressively remain emotionless just to spite them).
Sensitive. While not necessarily easily-offended, she tends to be emotional when it comes to the pain of others, specifically animals or children.
Charming. Despite her lack of people-skills, Mouse has a way with words. She can mould herself to whatever she believes will be best-recieved, saying what she thinks others want to hear. On top of this, she is naturally poetic and has no problem handing out frivolous flattery.

Background:
Deidra grew up with her parents on a mountain overlooking the sea. They lived without the help of others, hunting and gathering for themselves. Other people were no secret to Deidra. She knew people lived in cities, although the concept seemed foreign and inconceivable. How do you organise so many people in one place? The girl grew up well-prepared for the world, which is why she didn't spend too long grieving over the loss of her parents to an undetermined disease. They were in their forties. She was seventeen. The cycle of life was simply put to rest.
Prepared for the world? Yes. But she wasn't well-prepared for the people in it. Her communication skills were sub-par; nearly non-existent at first.
She knew the sea. She had been fishing before and knew how to navigate. Knew how the sea moved and what the winds indicated. It seemed so obvious that she should be a sailor. Not knowing of their bad name, she chose to be the second best thing in her eyes. A pirate.

Skills:
Fast. Her speed and stamina is remarkable, making her quick and agile by nature, no matter what task she's offered.
Intelligent. She's particularly clever, albeit perhaps not book smart—literally. She's unable to read, so she's adapted to soak up any knowledge she's given. Mathematics-wise... perhaps not the best girl for the job.
Botanist. If maths is her weakness, plants and flora types are her strength. Due to her history, she has an extensive knowledge of the earth and sea. She knows the basics on most animals as well.

Weapon:
Two hat pins. Always one to adore jewellery, the pins look commonplace. Two needle-like crowns resting on the hood of her cloak. Even if she appears unarmed, the pins can be pulled from her hood at a moment's notice. One millimetre thick and less than five inches long, it would be difficult to kill using them, but it can cause serious pain and bleeding.

Other:
Nearly mute. Much easier to talk when alone with someone.
Highly superstitious. Growing up isolated, she was fed with wives' tales and myths alongside science.
