A couple of questions:
When I buy the Brilliance and Accuracy powers
1. Does it add to my character's stats? Does Brilliance add to my Logic? and Accuracy to my Agility?
2. If I want to have Brilliance 2, do I spend two power slots on Brilliance 1 and Brilliance 2?

Sample characters in the book display their stat-boosting powers in a compressed way, showing only the highest rank.

HOWEVER,each stat boosting power also displays the previous rank as a pre-requisite,meaning that you do indeed need to own Sturdy 1 to learn Sturdy 2,and so on.

I think that particular personality could work very well for a character in this. What kind of origin are you leaning towards for her? Like is she a mutant, alien, wizard, science experiment or any of the other common origins in Marvel? Also I’m really hesitant to allow any omniversal travel powers like time travel as they could break the story I have planned, which I probably should have mentioned before. Do you have any other kind of power in mind?

So the way Accuracy and Brilliance work is they up your damage multiplier for their respective stats, agility for Accuracy and logic for Brilliance, as well as giving you a plus number to that kind of roll whenever it isn’t an attack. So Accuracy 1 would turn a 2x damage multiplier into a 3x, while Accuracy 2 would turn it into a 4x. As far as power slots, taking Brilliance 2 means that you have already taken Brilliance 1, using up two of your power slots to have that particular power.

As far as your character sheet goes, it looks very good, though I think you have only used ten power slots, while you get twelve for being Rank 3. Unless I’m looking at it wrong of course.

Thanks for answering the question before I could. Have you considered anymore names for your symbiote, that is if that is the character you decide to go with?

No, I don't really have any other power in mind for her at the moment. As I said, I was struggling to think of one. I also don't have an origin for her yet.

Gotcha. I forgot to add two of the Healing powers I've chosen, I updated my post to include them, so she can use her Focus to restore Health.

phibglib phibglib maybe you might consider certain powers from the Phasing,Power Control,Telekinesis,or Teleportation categories? Just spitballing here but maybe your character either has some kind of cosmic or sorcerous origin that blessed/cursed her with knowledge of "how things could be"? And the sum of her powers results in her visualizing alternate/improved possibilities of situations surrounding her,and sometimes they even snap into reality, replacing how things "actually" were prior.

As for which character I'm gonna play,I'll see what EbonChevalier EbonChevalier and possibly orpheus. orpheus. would decide on,first?

Lost Martian Lost Martian for the symbiote character, her origin story was that she was an ordinary student who was searching for a birthday gift for a friend who's a big anime geek and stumbled upon a replica of the belt of a transforming superhero from a certain popular show on sale. What she didn't know was that inside the belt was stowed a sample of a power source and the genetic data of an attempt to clone an existing symbiote. Its original carrier was the head of the research efforts and had to urgently find a place to hide the sample when someone was pursuing them. When she was taking it home, this and that happened and the symbiote bonded to her from within the belt to fight off some assailants.

The symbiote wants to eat people, but she directs it towards punching/slicing up bad guys. It's not a "true" Klyntar so it needs the power source to live, which in turn means it can't leave the belt for too long and also can't detach from its partner and cause mischief.

With that in mind,I'm fine with going with Ravage as a name but otherwise I'm considering something like...Shroud,or Fetter. Something that represents secrecy and/or restraint.

Possibly. I'd considered reality warping but it seemed too overpowered and unpredictable. But maybe it could work if it's only sometimes?

Cool, then it looks like your character sheet is done.

Nellancholy Nellancholy
That back story is fine. I like the idea of an artificial symbiote, especially tying it to an object like a transformation belt. I do like the name Shroud, and even though there is already a canon character with that codename, I think since this is a next generation story, we can just say that he has retired and that the codename is open for use by whoever.

phibglib phibglib
Part of the reason I set the characters as Rank 3 is so that they wouldn’t have any crazy strong powers. Thus I think things like reality warping and time/dimension travel would probably not work.

If you really don’t have a power preference you can always go to the Superpower Wiki and go to the more drop down menu and select give me a random superpower. You could keep doing that until you find something you like.

Telekinesis, maybe?

phibglib phibglib
Telekinesis could work, especially since no one else has expressed an interest in those kinds of mental powers.

EbonChevalier EbonChevalier
Since you’ve now picked a character concept, do you need any help with filling out a character sheet?

orpheus. orpheus.
Hey just checking in if you’ve thought about what kind of character you would like to play as? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask as I, and probably others, will promptly answer them.

I have decided to keep this interest check up for a few more days before putting up an OOC and Characters thread. So expect those threads probably start of next week.

And our powers rank is dependent on our rank

The damage of your powers is dependent on your rank, since your rank is the multiplier for damage. But taking things like Brilliance and Accuracy increase the multiplier as well, so someone of rank 1 with Brilliance 2, using a power whose damage is based on Logic, would have the same damage multiplier as someone with rank 3 and no Brilliance.

Thanks for answering the questions for me. I’m glad that other people are familiar with this system prior to starting as it will make things flow easier.

EbonChevalier EbonChevalier
So to just confirm, we are starting at Power Rank 3. Power Rank governs how many ability points you get to spend, how many powers you can take, as well as some powers requiring a minimum power rank to take, and also it affects your base damage multipliers. Hopefully that answers your questions, but if you have anymore feel free to ask.

Also, I’m still working on the OOC and Characters threads, which I hope to have up in the next few days.
