A new life

One Thousand Club
Kevin was waiting on the train in Scotland. Sighing he thought about his last job and had just recieved his letter to go for his fifth year at Hogwarts. Looking around, he wondered about his classmates. Most of his year knew why he was a Slytherin but others didn't. As the train arrived, he got on and prepared to go to London so he could get his books.

Alice roamed around Diagon ally waiting for her father to pick her up. Flourish &Botts caught her eye and she walked inside smiling at the shop-keeper and going to browse the shelfs. She had already gotten her school shopping done, also buying some Slytherin things. Her family had been so excited when she had been sorted into that house, her family was scattered over all the houses so this was very exciting.

Entering Diagon Alley, Kevin went to Flourish and Botts to get his school books. Sighing he accidentally bumped into a beautiful young girl. Helping her pick up her things he said, "Hi, my name is Kevin Dobson. I'm going into my fifth year."

Alice smiled. "I'm Alice Peters and I know, we're in the same house and year. We had charms together last year." She laughed, eyes twinkling as her red hair bounced around her shoulder.

"Oh yea, you were that girl I could never talk to," Kevin said blushing slightly. Then grabbing his books for school he said, "After this want to go for lunch?"

Alice smiled sweetly. "Sure, I have a few hours till my Da comes to get me." She helped him carry his books and chattered on about what teachers they would have. "I hope we don't get Snape." She made a face. "Slughorn is easier to manipulate into good grades."

Kevin chuckled slightly and looked at her. Then he said, "With a brain like mine, it doesn't matter which teacher I get."

Paying for his books, he put them in his pup tent and then kissed her cheek. Then he walked to get his cloaks tailored seeing as his muscles had grown again.

Alice chuckled at his arrogance and gasped when he kissed her cheek. She touched where his lips had touched with her finger-tips and whipped her head to follow him with her eyes. "What...." She looked surprised then dashed after him. She caught up and tugged his arm scowling. "What in Merlin's name was that?!"

"Something that has waited four years to happen," Kevin said as he entered Madam Malkin's. As he got his robes resized, he looked at her gently.

Alice was confused...."What?" She furrowed her brow. He had never even talked to her before and then he just kisses her?!?!

She shook her head, blushing slightly that she didn't remember. "Tell me?" She whispered, eyes wide.

"It was right after the sorting. We sat across from each other and you asked me for the marmalade. I handed it to you and for a moment our eyes met. Then I just focused on my food, blushing," Kevin said informatively as he paid for the new cloaks.

"But...then you never spoke to me again." She said, sounding hurt. she linked her arm with his and pulled him out to the ice-cream parlor.

"Well, I was too embarrassed to confront you again. You never heard the Slytherin rumor about how I wouldn't talk to you," Kevin said nervously.

Alice stuttered. "There was a rumor?" Then her eyes narrowed. "Wait, i thought you had a girlfriend. Tracey...or something?"

"What are you talking about," Kevin asked curiously. Sure he spoke to Terri, but he never went out with her. Since his first year the only girl he cared for was Alice.

Alice rolled her eyes. "She idolizes you. She tells all us other girls that you two are dating and you're going to get married when you're out of Hogwarts." She said. "Kevin, she hangs off your arm every chance she gets!"

"I had noticed that she's a little clingy. That was only after everyone found out who my father was. I had told her time and again that she wasn't my type," Kevin said looking at Alice. Sighing to himself he added, "Why do you think I don't sleep in the dorms?"

Alice shrugged but looked down, blushing. She peeked at him. "...then what does this mean...for us?" She asked just as someone called her. She turned around. "I'm sorry Kevin. I'll sit with you on the train, that's my Da. Bye!" She turned and ran to her father, red hair bouncing behind her as she sent a last wave.

"Okay," Kevin said as he watched her leave. Getting the rest of his things, Kevin finished his shopping and got a room at the Leaky Cauldron.

((Timeskip?))

Kevin walked onto Platform 9 3/4, it was 7:00am and he was holding his trunk over his should with a single finger. Sighing he saw it was empty. Sitting on a bench, he waited for Alice.

Holding her little brother's hand, Alice ran straight for the gate and passed through easily. She smiled at her little brother who looked in wonderment at the train. She had her trunk in one hand and set it down with a thunk as she too looked around. She saw him. "Kevin!" She called.

"Alice-chan," Kevin said looking at her excited. Running up to her, he held her gently and picked up her trunk. Putting it on his own he said, "How have you been?"
