"Lexi," Matthias sighed in relief. He held her head up. Matthias could see that she was still banged up. His wings sheltered her. Matthias knew that he shouldn't fly off at this moment just in case more of those guys were around. He looked around to see of there was anywhere they could hide.

"Matt you have to go love."She said. She groaned" who put rocks in my head.Jesus"she muttered. Her eye's finally focused on him.Lexi breathed in and sighed. She tryed to move and let out a whimper. "Babe you need to go please. "She begged him. Her eye's watered from the pain and wanting to protect him.

Matthias ignored her words though. He decided he will have to fly. But not at the current location. Matthias tightened his grip on Lexi and ran towards the nearby woods. As he ran he kept glancing back to see if anyone followed.


"I...will...not...leave...you...again," Matthias panted as he ran.

Lexi nodded and clung to him. She couldn't hold on much longer. The blackness of blacking out was tugging at her mind.She went limp in his arms her heas rolling to the side and she gave into the ever growing darkness.

Matthias didn't want to, but was relieved that she passed out. He looked around almost sure that no one was following them. His wings stretched widely and soon he took off with Lexi in his arms.


Matthias flew past the town and lands in the nearby mountains. He didn't want to take her back home for they maybe more of those people waiting for them to come back.

Lexi lay passed out in his arms.She had blood on her forehead and was bruised all over. She probably had a few bones broken as well.Lexi shivered involuntarily. Her mind was fuzzy and she groaned. As she came back to the world.

Matthias was sitting on the edge of a cliff that extended from the entrance of a cave from the side of the mountain. Once he heard Lexi groaning he jumped up and walked over to her. He bent down so that he can get a closer look at her. "Hey...you okay?" Matthias asked softly not wanting to alarm her or cause her some more pain.

"Matt what the hell is going on."She said. She tryed to sit up and yelped laying back down."Jesus Christ you think I been hit by a god damn bus."She said trying to catch her breath."okay, no I feel like some one put rocks in my head and a train ran over the rest of me."She says

Matthias smiled weakly. Same old Lexi.


He whispered, "Shh. Just take it easy. I'm here. I'm here to protect you."


He stretched his wings open to cover the sunlight from her hoping the darkness will soothe her headache.

She grimaced. "Take it easy? I got in a car accident and kicked they wanted you? Why? Who are they?"She asked. Lexi relaxed as the sun went away.She wanted to be in his arms. She was very grumpy and in a lot of pain.

Matthias sighed. He sat down beside her. With one hand he began massaging her head.


"I don't know what they wanted from me...but they knew I was a fallen angel," a mask of somber covered him.

Lexi sighed as he massaged her head."Thank you and well maybe we should find out."Lexi said.She was still in pain, Lexi groaned"we have to go back.my mom could be in trouble or worried about me."She says and trys to sit up again.

Matthias didn't want to admit it but he too was worried about Lexi's mom. He sighed, "Well...okay...I will take you back somewhere close to your home. I don't want to go straightaway to the home. They might be there waiting for me to return you there. We will have to go through the back." He looked down at Lexi. "Wait to sit up when you feel better," Matthias whispered.

Lexi sighed"Matt please, you know I don't care about waiting till I am better." Lexi sat up with a groan."okay maybe you are right this time."She said and layed back down quickly. Her vision had gotten blurry and hazey."some where near my house, how in the heckler am I supposed to know if my mom is okay?"She asks him. Lexi sighed. "Matt. "She said and reached for him.

Matthias grabbed her hand. "Don't worry I don't see why they would want to harm any other people," he said hoping it was true. He turned his attention back to her, "Rest some more and then we can get going."

She sighed and looked at him. Lexi sighed. "Well if your making me rest then can I at least rest in your grip." She asked. She was cold and shivering.

Matthias heard the weakness in her voice. He looked down and saw her shivering. Matthias constricted his wings closer to warm her up. He decided to lie down next to her. "I hope you don't mind," he whispered as he lied down next to her.

Lexi nods and curled into him. She held onto him and closed her eye's. She fell asleep and smiles. She stopped shivering in his grip, Lexi sighed. She had good dreams in his arms. This time it didn't work she relived the crash and the beatings. She gasped and woke as she clung to Matt.
