A family secret

FReyja didnt know how to feel with him giving her these looks. Could she really comfortably live their? She didnt know how he felt about her and she doesnt normally like to live with people she isnt friendly with. But in her will grandma told her she needed to stay there for at least a week. She grumbled and faltered a bit when he grabbed her wrist and started leading her back to the house, like she was a child. She would be 22 soon enough! She didnt know how to take his weird smile, "Im not..thankfully..most of my favorite foods are meat." She was talking quietly and could soon see the house ahead of them.

"Yeah?" His voice bled amusement. "That's convenient - I hope you like rats!" Now the enthusiasm sounded forced, if not taunting.

The garden oil lamp by the entrance of the house illuminated proudly like a warm welcome. He guided her to the front door and pushed a fingertip under the plank, so that it swings back to stand vertically. It was a simple lock mechanism, but it did its job - back when he was younger at least. Much, much younger, thinking back..

He thought of waiting for her to get inside the house first, but got impatient as he let her step halfway in. Bluntly, he blurted.

"Because, if you're too slow to realise this, I'm half cat."

She frowned and looked at him, "Ummmm...I dont think I could eat rat.." She couldnt tell if he was joking or not about the rat but she was more confused by the thing by the door. Had he tried locking her in? She would have to keep that in mind She was halfway through the door when he blurted the cat thing. She turned and looked at him, "Well cats also eat fish and other things people eat, and from the looks of it you are mostly human. I should have brought food to cook..I guess ill go shopping later" She turned back around and walked into the living room, grabbing her suitcase as she walked.

"Have fun for walking for a full day, then," he drawled in a lazy tone and went off into the store room to kick start the generator again. It whirred in an obnoxious volume. He flipped the lights on for the living room and stairs, then the kitchen to grab himself a bowl of lukewarm curry and a few pieces of bread he had to slice himself.

A thousand thoughts ran through his mind.

"I have a car its not that hard when you have a car" She watched him get his food and frowned wondering if he really put rats in it, if so she could probably just get some bread. "Is it ok if I slice myself some bread then?" She felt out of place standing in the middle of the room and she hugged herself looking down at the floor then up again.

Well this could be a problem. He was already mulling over the dangers of her going to and fro civilisation in that car of hers.

"Self service."

How the hell did he even forget it was parked next to the goddamn house? Oh, right. Because he was too concerned with her safety in the forest, and being a housewife making cu-

Goddamnit.

"Listen," he drags his stool to sit across her, gesturing with a hand for her to sit - no protests allowed, "I'm acutely aware that the following choice of words foreshadow bad things, but, we need to talk."

Freyja grumbled and sat down, "About what? Are you going to tell me I cant leave? or what?" She furrowed her brow and looked him right in the eyes. If he wanted to keep her here he would have to try hard because whether she looked it or not she could kick some butt. She didnt want to be rude to him, in fact she had tried to be kind at first and make her being there less...intruding.
(ill try to post by phone if I get the chance)

"What?" His eyebrows lowered as he stared at her like she grew another head. "Why would I want you to stay? You smell like every bit of a human to me."

Sticking his spoon into his bowl of curry - now barely even warm - he smeared some onto his bread and took a bite (he had raised his eyebrows at the flavour). "Gotta' love chicken."

As if catching himself in a bad act, he scowled. "Back on topic. We're going to begin with some regulations. One, we don't go off without telling each other where we're headed to."

A pause, then he sneered. "Like someone did today for instance."

She looked offended by his words, its not like she smelled! She kept herself clean and what not. And she wanted t smack him when he made the comment about the chicken. "Why though? You dont seem to like me...and all your human comments arent that nice to hear, im a grown women for gods sakes" She crossed her legs and leaned back on the couch, she felt like he was scolding a child.

"Grown woman, more meat for the predator. Good point," he tore another chunk of bread off with a mean smile. "Two, we don't try to look sassy and eat dinner when dinner is made. Now eat, human."

Even though he was purposely trying to piss her off (she looks quite the lovely dove being riled up, or maybe that was his sadism speaking), he retained a teasing tone as well. "I don't make dinner very often."

She glared and got up heading to the kitchen, "Go ahead and eat me.." She was mumbling to herself and started cutting some bread for herself and put it with the curry. She went back and sat on the couch as flustered as ever, "Thanks for dinned.." She didnt make eye contact or even look at him but she started eating the food. She didnt say it out loud but it was really good.
(You still on? O.o )

(Aye.)

"Go ahead and eat me," he mimicked when she was in the kitchen. Assuming you taste good.

Rolling his blue eyes upon the sight of her return, he propped his ankle on the other thigh whilst downing the last of his bread. He relished in the sound of his fingertips rubbing together - friction on skin; it was nice.

"Wash your bowl and plate later yourself. Water's by the sink in a basin," he waved with his back turned to her and proceeded to wash the dishes in the kitchen promptly lest the curry stains dry up. Crusts were always harder to remove.

Done, the cat-eared male shuffled silently up the stairs, stealing a look at her profile as he reached the stairs' middle, then continued on.

A thought ate at the corners of his mind and no amount of rolling in the bed could dispel it.

(ill reply asap)
She wasnt sure how to take in this whole situation. He was one of the most bipolar guys she had ever met and had an attitude to boot! She finished eating awhile after he left and went to wash her dishes off. "Is this really how im going to spend my week? Is that why you told me I had to stay here for a week Grandma? For him or something?" She walked back to the living room and grabbed her suitcase dragging it up the stairs with her. She realized then that she didnt know what room to stay in, he was obviously back in his and she was sure as hell not staying in that stuffy room. But she was getting tired and she just had to make due with what she had, so she went into her grandmas old room. "Im not intruding nana I swear..I just dont know where else to sleep.." She zipped open her suit case and pulled out a plain white tank top and some gray PJ shorts. She didnt realize how cold it could get but it would have to do. She stripped down to her underwear and slipped the shirt and shorts on.

Very Early Morning - House

Come dawn, he was wide awake and still unable to figure out the tangled mess in his mind. He swung both legs to the side of the bed, cringing at the sensation of chill on the floorboard. Padding over to the door, he opened it just enough to take a peek outside, awaiting for any signs of Freyja this early on.

(Just let me know if your character would be awake at this hour.)

(Nah you know young people always sleeping in xD )

Freyja was still sound asleep at this time of hour. Her face was buried in the pillow and she was curled up under all the blankets. Her breathing was quiet and steady, mumbling a bit as she rolled onto her side and got into fetal position.

With the coast clear, he pushed the entrance wider and slipped out, hand around the knob firmly. It felt chilly as well. Such was the weather of spring mornings.. He prayed it wouldn't rain.

Nearing the last few steps on the stairs, he did a leap and landed with a pitched "hrmph". He saw a thin line of daylight under the seam of the front door. The door wasn't locked; it didn't have to be. This was after all far away from the closest civilisation.

He went off into the kitchen to pick up a bucket that sat alone in the far corner, and with it in arms, went out of the house to draw water from the well outside.

After some time passed she finally woke up. She had a nightmare that had plague her for a long time, always making it hard to sleep and stay asleep. She sat up in the bed and rolled her left shoulder as it had a dull pain in it. "At least I didnt stay in his room all night" She hadnt wanted to take up his room the last time. She got out of bed and brushed her hair out without a mirror, she didnt really wear makeup as it was and its not like he would care. She didnt want to change out of her PJ's yet and just went downstairs, was he still asleep? "Hello?" She looked around. She wanted to know if it was ok to use the shower.
(Sorry I havent really been on..ive had some emergencies going on)
