This is simply a thread to express your thoughts, concerns, and questions about the universe and storyline happening in it.

Sorry for the bland thread-starter, but there really isn't much to put here.

I'll get the character creation page up soon enough, but I'll leave the interest check open just in case anyone else gets interested.

Fandom - A Different Wizarding World - Character Creation

Here's the character sheet! While your here, I'd like your feedback on one last decision:
Should the storyline lightly push the characters around the world so they can experience all of the amazing magic and trinkets in this universe?

Or should I simply set it up, and have the characters shape the story as they do whatever they please?

I'll start working on my character as soon as possible! Also, regarding your question, I think it's better for the storyline to push the characters around the world. Not enough to restrict their freedom, but enough to make sure the characters are where they need to be for the story to progress.

I'll be following this :) It looks interesting but I don't know if I have time for a third (soon to be fouth) RP.

So, I have a few questions.

1. When you say "realistic" FCs do you mean realistic art (not anime/cartoon), or real life?
2. If there is going to be some guiding story that we participate in (not free-form), can we know a bit about what it is so we can make our characters fit more naturally into it?
3. Is this world the same as the Potterverse, in that, the muggles (non-magical) are ruled in the shadows by an aristocratic society of wizards/witches (magical)?

1. Yes, If prefer if we had real people to base our characters off of
2. There will be a plot that I’m currently working, and should be finished by the time beryone has created their characters
3. It is, but it is more free. Muggles are referred to as simply ‘non-magical humans’, but aren’t looked down upon. Their still in the not-know how though.

Okay, I just got back to my computer so I can say a few things and we can get this started.
1. I should probabaly mention Illvermorny, Hogwarts, and all other magical Potterverse schools do not exist in the his story. But if you still want to use those as your backgrounds their (kind of) counterparts are the Grey School of Wizardry in California and Bothwell Academy of Witchcraft in Poland
2. Once everyone’s finished, I’ll release the IC so we can start the story, which has been decided upon being us as adults, and exploring a world where there’s a storyline that lightly pushes the characters on a plot, but doesn’t force them, allowing for a more free way of interacting with this magical universe

Speaking of which, Im probably going to use this thread to rant about some of the worldbuilding decisions made in the HP Universe later, but tl;dr Wizarding America was pretty badly designed.

Got it, I changed my character's backstory in order to fit the new information.

Yeah, I kinda agree. Luckily, I’ve re-designed all of the continents and their respective magical areas, so hopefully their better than the 1950s America/Paris
