A deal with the devil, A day class decision

Two day class girls get mixed up in a deadly deal with Rido after meeting Kaname and Senri at a Cross Academy ball.


Minori entered the ball room slightly late to the cross academy ball. Her small hands grasped the silk fabric of her black ballgown holding it up so that she would not trip as she descended the steps. Once she had reached the bottom she looked around the room anxiously for Yui , who had left earlier. Minori would have arrived with her, had her hair not taken so long to put up causing her to be late. She hadn't even intended on going to the ball, all it was was another event for the day class girls to fall over themselves trying to impress the night class boys. If it wasn't for Yui convincing her to come she would be back in her room reading a book rather than standing awkwardly in the middle of the ballroom.


The truth was that Minori didn't see why all the girls in her class were so obsessed with the night class, they were onl boys right? She thought they were overrated, and she was definetely not the kind of girl that was about to go throwing herself at any attractive boy she saw. Besides she assumesd it must be very bothersome for the night class boys always having girls clinging to them, but maybe they liked that sort of thing. As she looked around the room it seemed impossible to find Yui because the other students where everywhere flocking around the night class like misquitos. All she wanted to do was find her friend and have a nice time but it was nearly impossible to get through the croud of love-struck girls.

Senri was hold up in a darker corner of the ball room. All the girls swarming him was begining to get on his nerves so he had retreated to a corner in an atempt to avoid them for a little while. "Whats the point of coming to this ball and having all these girls harass us if we can't even bite them a little?" he asked Kaname, who had given them all orders to come to this little event this evening. If there wasn't anything in it for him he wasn't all that interested in making nice and entertaining every girl's fantasy, they were all the same anyway.


He sighed out of boredom as he scanned the room once again looking for somthing a least a little interesting that could entertain him for the night. Maybe he could find at least one girl that wasn't as annoying as the rest. The only problem was he was going to have to be decreet and not let the other girls see because as soon as one saw they all would come and ruin his fun.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Yui was in the corner of the room, trying to find her best friend, well, the best friend she had since coming to the private school a little over a month ago. She looked everywhere, but Minori was growing increasingly hard to find in these conditions. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves, but Yui wouldn't unless she had her friend by her side. "Minori?" She kept turning girls around in order to find her. It was quite embarrassing, to say the least. After fifteen girls, she decided to take a break. "Where is she?" Yui asked, almost breathlessly, her claustrophobia started kicking in, quite quickly.


Kaname was busy entertaining his own fans, being quite bitter since Yuki left with Zero to be his (Zero's) precious little blood bank. From what Kaname heard, his sister had actually had a child with the Level E! That infuriated him to no end. Still, he never wavered from his calm demeanor. "Senri, relax. You will not harm any human here. Not while I am the Dorm President." He waited for the girls to part to start looking for the perfect replacement for Yuki. "Excuse me, ladies." He walked away from them.

Minori began to push her way through the croud of people hoping once she got to the other side of the room maybe it would be a little easier to find her friend. She hoped that Yui was okay, she knew she didn't really know anyone and didn't like closed in spaces and if she had gotten caught in a group of people it would turn out badly. "if only I were taller I could see over all these people and find her" She thought to herself cursing her shortness. Making her was through the croud of people proved difficult. With her being so small they all ignored her or pushed her out of the way causing her to stumble backwards a time or too. "Excuse me" She said a hint of annoyance in her voice as she again tried to push her way through all the while looking around helplessly for her friend.

Senri rolled his eyes at the presidents orders "As you wish.." He said obeying the orders given to him. He knew fully well that he was not allowed to touch a single hair on any of the girls head but that didn't mean he didn't still think about it. However he would never disobey Kaname not only because he was Dorm President but being one of the only purebloods left he was obligated to follow all his comands. Eve if they ruined his fun. Turning his attention else where he spotted a small blonde girl who seemed in quite a bit of distress and feeling a bit generous he decided to try and help. He smoothly walked up to her placing his hand gently on her shoulder to get her attention. " Hello, you look like you need some help is there anything I can do?" He asked politely. He wasn't sure why he felt the need to help the girl but at least she wasn't like the rest of them trying to do everything they could to get the vampires attentions. He just genuinely wanted to help her because she seemed like she needed it.

Kaname found a somewhat open area where he could just be alone and think about how Yuki could have possibly evaded him so easily. "No, my sister has made her choice when she picked that lowlife over me. I must respect her wishes and move on. That's why I came back to Cross Academy, after all." He had given up on trying to make sense of Yuki's decision as he saw a rather pretty girl with beautiful eyes not far from him. She also looked rather lost. "Excuse me, Aido." The blonde male had bumped into Kuran as he made his way forward, eyes locked on Minori. "Excuse me, but I don't think we've met, Miss. I'm Kaname Kuran, president of the Night Class. And, you are...lost, right? May I help you?"


Yui was still quite scared. She didn't know what to do. All she knew was that she kept walking in circles until she finally gave up. "Oh!" She jumped when someone put their hand on her shoulder. "Oh, Senri Shiki, right?" She asked. "I'm fine, really. Im just looking for my friend." She ignored that butterfly feeling in her stomach. Her chest was in knots, her breathing heavy. "I'm sorry!" She ran off, pushing people.

Minori let out a breath as once again she was pushed backwards. She about ready to give up and try a diffrent way when a voice stopped her. "Huh?" she said turning to face the person as she tucked a stray peice of blue hair behind her ear. "Oh um Hello, I'm Minori, day class. I'm not lost though, I'm just trying to find my friend." She said setting him straight as glanced around the room again her eyes finally landing on Yui's golden hair finally. She brought her attention back to the boy in front of her. Wait had he said he was the night class president? What was he doing talking to her he was the most popular one , at least that was what she had heard from the other girls in her class. " I appreciate your offer, but I think I just found her" She said trying to excuse herself in order to catch Yui before she ran off.

The corner of his mouth turned up as Senri heard the girl recognized him. "Yes that would be me" He said with a small bow but as he stood up straight again the girl was already running off. What just happened ? He asked himseld confused as he began to go after her. This was new for him he had never chased after a girl before. "Wait" he said catching her wrist "I can help you find her" he offered for some reason not wanting to let the beautiful girl get away.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Surely a beautiful girl such as yourself wouldn't leave without dancing at least once." Kaname grasped her hand gently. "Please, just one dance. I'm certain that your friend is just fine. I also see her." He cast a glance toward his cousin and the boy's partner. Both girls were very pretty, Kaname had to admit, but there was something about Minori that he couldn't get off of his mind. Still, he would never force Minori to dance if she didn't want to do so. "That's only if you want to."


Yui tried to run. Her mentality was getting worse with each second that she bothered to stay here. "Really, I can't stay " Every sense that she still had was screaming for her to get away. "I saw her just a second ago." She yanked her arm away and ran for her life, her sanity. Tears streamed down her face.

Minori felt conflicted as the boy grabbed her hand asking her to dance. "I- but what if she needs me.." She said looking around for Yui but she had dissappeared again. Her cheek grew red as she became a bit flustered. Why was he asking her to dance? There were a million other girls dying to dance with him and he was asking her. "I um, I guess one dance would be ok.." She said giving in. She felt slightly guilty for not going after Yui but she told herself she would try and find her as soon as the dance was over. Anyway she just saw her and she was okay, one dance couldn't hurt could it?

Senri released her arm as she shrunk away from him. He wasn't going to force her to do anything she didn't want to but her could see that somthing was very wrong. " I think you need some air" he said going after her and running a head to make a path to lead her outside where she would be able to breathe. He was careful to keep his distance as he lead her out wanting to give her the space she obviously seemed to need.

"Excellent, Minori." Kaname kissed her hand once as he wrapped one arm around her waist and the other he used to take one hand. "Now, why don't you tell me more about yourself, hm?" He spun her. "How did you come to this school?"


Yui followed him, rubbing her arms up and down, still very nervous. She hated this feeling of absolute helplessness in front of Senri. Upon reaching the outside, Yui sank against the wall and now sat on her butt. "Thank you." She felt like vomiting.

Minori's blush deepened as he kissed her hand. She took a breath and and placed her hand on his shoulder as her other hand slipped into his. "There really isn't much to tell" She confessed biting her lip as they seemed to glide across the dance floor. Is this really happening? She wondered. She never would have guessed that she, of all people, would be dancing with the night class president but her she was. "My parents sent me hear a few years ago to get rid of me" She told him as she spun back into his arms glancing up at him with her large blue eyes.

Senri kneeled down in front of the small blonde girl. "My pleasure" he said a small smile playing on his lips. "Is there anything else I can do for you, perhaps get you some water?" he asked debating whether it would be ok for him to touch her but he eventually decided against it. "it's alright now, just breathe." He told her gently trying to help her calm down.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Lord Kaname chuckled at this. "Your parents wanted to get rid of you?" He murmured to the girl. "That doesn't sound like something that parents should be doing." He twirled around with her again.


Meanwhile, Yui couldn't leave this dance without dancing with someone. "Y-You said you wanted to d-dance with me, r-right?" God, the man made her nervous. "Well, if it's alright with you, can we find somewhere to dance alone?"

Minori shrugged "It's okay. It's not becuase they don't love me or anything like that. They're just busy so they figured it would be better if I went away to school" She explained. Her parents were nice people they just had other things to do than watch after her all the time. They though she would be happier if she went away somewhere where she could make friends while they ran their companies and planned their parties. "I don't mind it , I like it here." she smiled

Senri tilted his head to the side a funny look on his face. "Are you sure that you are up for that?' he asked wanting to make sure she was alright first. This girl was full of surprises and he sort of liked it. "Nothing would make me happier than to dance with you, no matter the location" He said offering her his hand helping her up so that he could wrap an arm around her waist and hold one of her hands in his. "By the way, you seem to know who I am but you still haven't told me your name. What should I call you?"

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Well, if there's anything that I could do to make your stay even better..." Kaname smiled, not taking his eyes from her, "you'll let me know, won't you?" He tilted her head up, smiling. "I am always willing to help."


Senri's smile was so warm and inviting, as was his hand, that Yui couldn't help but take it with her own smile on her lips. "I just can't stand crowds, alright?" She was kind of snippy at times. She laughed lightly. "Still, I forget to give you my name, which is Yui." She smiled still.

Minori bit her lip and tired to look away from him but he forced her to look at him. What does that mean? Make my stay better? she wasn't good with this sort of thing and why did he make her feel so stupid. "Y-yes, but it's already so nice I'm not sure how it could get better." Her cheeks felt like they were on fire, she was sure that she looked like an idiot. Just a few moments ago she was thinking how overrated the night class was and now here she was basically melting into a puddle of goo because of one boy what was wrong with her.

Senri offered a understanding nod. ahh that explains it, now it all makes sense he though after hearing it was the crowd that had caused her to run out of the ball. She was so small and fit quite nicely in his arms and the sound of her laugh made it impossibe to resist smiling down at her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yui" he said spinning them around dancing with her dispite the lack of music. "If you want to know a secret, I'm not all that fond of crowds either."

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kaname chuckled again. She's so innocent. "Listen, Minori, I want you to tell me if you need anything." He let go of her face and continued their dance. Much to the dismay of the other girls, he had shared more than one song with Minori. "It's getting late." He mumbled, looking at the rest of his class to make sure that they were alright. "It's late." He repeated.


Yui was really close to Shiki now. So close, in fact, that if the vampire just bent down a few inches, their lips could meet. But, that was impossible. He wouldn't do that. Still, she yawned, just as he told the joke. "Thank you, but I don't want to keep you from this party." She dared to lay her head against his chest.

Minori shook her head "I don't need anything, really I'm fine" She said smiling again. She was grateful when he let go of her face she wondered if he could feel the heat in her cheeks. She looked over at the clock as he mentioned it being late. Had that much time really passed? She hadn't even noticed as one song faded into the next. "Oh it is. I hadn't noticed, I guess I should go.." She said begining to pull away figuring it was probably time to give another girl a turn.

Senri shook his head at the blonde "No, trust me. There is no where else I'd rather be. The party was just tiring anyway" He told her honestly. He was slightly surpired when she rested her head on his chest but he soon got used to it and rested his chin lightly on top of her head. The sent of her hair filling his lungs she smelled sweet and intoxicating he wondered if she tasted that way too. He had to force the last thought from his head. "So Yui are you new to the school? or have you just been hiding from me?" he asked with a smirk

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Minori." Kaname called her back, reaching for her face again, wanting to kiss her, but that wasn't his character. "Thank you for showing me a nice time." He kissed her forehead instead. "Thank you." He walked off, getting upset about the separation between them. "Yuki...isn't controlling my heart anymore."


Yui felt her own flesh catch fire. God, what's happening! "I haven't been hiding. I'm new, Senri." Why would I hide from you. You're a model, apparently. "I've only been here for a month, sir." She pulled away. "Sorry, I'm an idiot."

 

[Captainsassypants]

"Hmm?" Minori asked turning back to him. Is he going to Kiss me? she thougth as he grabbed her face again. "Oh you're welcome" She said after he had thanked her, although she really hadn't done much he seemed to be pretty much running things. Her eyes instinctively closed as his face moved towards hers but he only kissed her forehead. She opened her eyes but she was to speechless to say anything so she only watched him walk away. A sad feeling growing in her chest as she stood alone now in the middle of the dance floor.

A low chuckle escaped the vampires lips "I figured as much" he said .He had already decided she was most likely a new student since he had never seen her before. He definitely would have remembered her if he had. She was so strange and cute, calling him sir. "You aren't an idiot why would you think that?" he asked pulling her back into his chest again.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kaname walked toward the next girl, then the next, then the next, until it was time to take a break. True, they were all nice girls, but only one caught his eye. Still, Minori seemed so unattainable, so different, yet that made her so appealing to him. "She'll be mine. I will talk to the headmaster about this disciplinary committee opening." That's what he did.


"I'm calling you sir without even knowing you. Normally people address Kaname as such." She informed him. "I'm not sure that I should be around you, Senri." She went inside. "Minori!" She called, not wanting to move away from the door. "Minori!"

Minori moved toward the edge of the room feeling a bit dazed and confused. It was like she had just woken up from a dream exept she wasn't, shr had been awake the whole time. It wasn't until she heard someone calling her name that she became fully aware of her surroundings. "Yui?" She asked turning to make sure it was actually her. "Oh where have you been ? I've been looking all over for you" she said running over to the door.

"Well people call him sir because he's the night class president. You don't have to be so formal with me, you can just call me Senri" He said. An amused look came on to his face as she told him she shouldn't be around him. If only you knew he chuckled to himself. "Well at least promise me I can see you again?" he said bowing to kiss her hand before she rushed off. She definitely was a strange one and she had caught his attention. He wasn't intending to let her get away from him so easily but he was going to have to let her go for the night.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"God, I just had the best time!" Yui admitted, holding her by her shoulders. "What happened? Did you dance with someone? Did he kiss you? What was it like?" She grinned. "Tell me! Tell me now!"


Yui couldn't talk about her own experience. He wanted to see her again!


Kaname watched from a distance, keeping his eye on the girls. He had danced with everyone other than Yui and at least felt that she needed some explanation or something from him to show that he was happy she came. Just a kind gesture, so he walked over.

Minori smiled glad to see she was okay. "That's great! I was so worried about you, I'm happy to see you were alright." She said and giggled seeing how excited Yui was getting. "Jeez calm down! I haven't even said anything. Why do you instantly assume I've had some epic romance while you were away?" She laughed. "Anyways if you must know I danced with one person and he only kissed my forhead and that's all. What about you who did you run off with hmm?"she asked her eyebrow rasing in interest.

Senri made his way back into the ball that seemed to be slowly making it's way to an end. He figured he should probably see if there was anything the class president had expected him to do, or at least entertain his fan club for a little as much as he disliked the idea. Really he was only interested in Yui and he couldm't help but smirk as he passed by her on the way in. He was looking forward to talking to her again and he hoped it would be soon.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Because, my dear friend, you're the cute one." Yui laughed and kissed Minori on the cheek in greeting. "You're so lucky that you're able to stay here and not have one of these episodes like I do." Yui blushed, embarrassed. "I danced with Senri Shiki." Her blush couldn't be more evident.


Still, Kaname wanted to make up for at least not acknowledging Yui. That's the kind of gentleman he was. Taking a sunflower from one of the vases, he cleared his throat. "Yui, forgive me for not at least dancing once with you. I should have." He handed the sunflower over to her. It wasn't a rose, but it was still beautiful. "Thank you, Lord Kaname." She smiled at him, being her kind self. Kaname reached for her friend. "Minori." He kissed her cheek.

"Oh hush, you are much cuter" Minori said kissing Yui on the cheek as well. "I know. I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner, but it sounds like you were alright." Her eyes grew wider hearing Senri Shiki's name "Really? that's great. Awh you like him! You're blushing." the girl giggled but she was interupted by Kaname cleating his through. Minori fell quiet and turn to look at him as he offered her friend a flower.That was nice She thought. "Thank you, Lord Kaname" She said softly blushing as he kissed her cheek

Senri greated a a few girls as he entered the ball room again. He gave them each a small kiss on the had but that was about it. He wasn't really interested in any of them not after meeting Yui. He glanced over his shoulder at where she was, Kaname seeming to be offering her a flower. His muscles cleanched slightly worried at Lord Kaname's intentions but he relaxed once he saw him kiss the girl with Yui on the cheek thus establishing where his intrests lie.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Sh-Shut up.." Yui groaned her response as Kaname dared kiss her own cheek, still wanting to apologize for his rudeness. Yui couldn't help but turn an even deeper shade of red, but, it wasn't from Senri. That's what bothered her so much as, once again, Kaname turned on Minori. "Did you want me to walk you back to your room?" He smiled gently. He felt...different...the kiss he gave Yui was just a friendly gesture, he knew that he loved Minori and that was it, still, he also, at least, cared about Yui's self worth, that's why he gave her the sunflower, not the rose, and a kiss on the cheek, not the forehead like he did with Minori. "I'd be happy to escort you there myself." Yui, beginning to feel very much like a third wheel as she looked left and right for the fourth: Senri.

Minori glanced over at Yui and then Kaname then back at Yui. "Do you mind?" She asked Yui softly not wanting to just leave her friend but she very much wanted Kaname to walk her back. It was just around that time the Senri approached their group greeting the class president respectfully with a nod before taking Yui's hand and bending to kiss it. "Would you do me the honor of letting me escort you back?" he asked looking up at her his eyes questioning. He mostly wanted to get her to himself and away from Lord Kaname he couldn't help but feel a little jealous with him around her. Once she saw Yui would be okay Minori turned back to Kaname " You can walk me to my room, If you'd like to.." She told him and looked down fiddling with her hands nevously.
