A Day in the Life of a Pokemon Trainer [Inactive]

Tammy nodded thoughtfully. She didn't seem to be mocking or even have a hint of malice in her posture. "Now that I think of it, that would be a hard choice... My Smeargle and my Teddiursa are both normal, but my Horsea is water type. Either way I'd have to catch more pokemon and train a lot more to be a gym leader. Must be difficult."

 

[Stormflame]

"You should have a variety of pokemon like Blue and Red," Ava said.

Dylan opened one eye, "It is?" he questioned, surprised that she didn't make any joke about him. He loosened his muscles and said, "I mean, of course it is. Can you imagine trying to pick favorites of some of your best friends? I don't like the concept." he explained and rubbed the back of his head.


Ava stated a quick comment, but Dylan just shook his head in response, "I can't, Gym Leader rules state to only have one type of Pokemon. Red was never a gym leader and Blue only got a multi-type gym because his reign as Champion only lasted for five minutes, so he got special treatment. All other gym leaders are required to only use one type." He dug his hands into his pockets and shifted the weight into his heels.


"Stupid rule, if you ask me." he muttered while rolling his eyes.

 

[Stormflame]

"it is a stupid rule."

"But I know some people that will let you use more than one type of pokemon."

Dylan sighed, "Those are usually underground or unofficial gyms. The Starlin City gym is official." Dylan shrugged, "I'll figure it out eventually." and looked around at all the Pokemon everyone had. Lapras, Teddiursa, Richu, Pumpkaboo, and so on. He smiled at them all.


"Are these all your guys Pokemon?" He asked he reached into his pocket and produced two Pokeballs. "Meet mine." He threw them up and out came a Grovile and a Monferno. They greeted the other trainers with warm cry. "This is Monferno and Grovile. And of course..." Dylan turned around but he Rotom was gone. "Huh, where's Rotom?"

"Dylan," Ava said,"I am the champion if you dont know. And Rotom is finding something."

Dylan sighed, "Figures that the Champion thinks she understands and gets it all." He thought to himself and looked over by the tree to see Rotom floating around it. The ghost Pokemon looked at him and smiled as it floated back to him. Dylan patted the Pokemon's head.


Suddenly, his watched beeped. He looked down at it, "Crap, I'm going to miss my ride." He thought as he returned his Pokemon to their balls except Rotom. He slipped the balls back into this pocket and produced a boat ticket. "I'm sorry, but I have to get going. My boat ride to the Hoenn region leaves in an hour." He started to run down the path, but turned to look back at the people he met and waved at them. "It was nice meeting you. I hope to see you all sometime in the future." and turned toward his goal.


Dylan pushed his legs harder and harder as the town started to appear closer. He smiled, "There it is, Rotom. Looks like we'll barely make it." Dylan ran down the hill with Rotom by his side.


He ran through the city streets almost taking out a few bikers as he ran, "Sorry, in a hurry." he said as he ran toward the boat docks.


"Last call for the boat to Hoenn!" he heard from the dock.


"Wait!" Dylan shouted out as he hopped over the gate and ran up to the ticket man. Breathing heavily he handed him the ticket, "Can I still get on?"


The ticket man smiled at him and said, "You just made it. Come aboard."


Dylan smiled and ran aboard the ship. It let out a loud horn blow as it pulled away from the docks. Dylan went over to the rails and watched as the boat pulled away from the area he just came from. He smiled and said, "I hope those people have a great journey. Maybe will meet them again someday, eh, Rotom?" The Ghost Pokemon smiled and nudged itself against his trainer.


Dylan turned toward the open ocean and looked at the path in front of him, "But for now, I have to focus on my goal. The answer to my choice may lies in Hoenn." He said as the ship moved further and further into the ocean.
