Fandom A Chance Meeting at Ilex Forest

La'ir nods as Balaa finishes making the last changes. Where a female Lucario with an excellent battle record and siblings stood, is now Balaa's mate and Danielle's dad. Balaa is not yet finished, however. A moment later memories of time with La'ir fill each of their minds, and Liese is forgotten as La'ir takes his place in everyone's minds and in his new body.

He stretches.

"I must have fallen asleep. How are my loves today?" He picks Danielle up and swings her around, elated to see the Ninetales and Vulpix to which he has sworn his life and loyalty.

 

[AmethystRoze]

She smiled with glee as daddy spun her around. "Im doing good Daddy what about you?" She said giving him a few lick in the face.

 

[JessieSune]

"I'm well, though a bit worried for your mother. I should have been around to help when she was being attacked."

Balaa shakes her head.

"It wasn't your fault, and besides, I had asked other things of you that day."

He nods.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"So daddy when are we leaving?" She asked still smiling brightly.

 

[JessieSune]

"That's up to you, Danielle! But we should probably eat first."

"How about delivery today?" asks Balaa.

"Yes please!" replies Simon.

"In that case, I'll send some food in, and then you can get moving."

La'ir nods.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Ok!" She said skipping around. (Is she still in his arms?)

 

[JessieSune]

La'ir chuckles a little. "At least let me put you down so I don't drop you!"

A few minutes later a Treecko drops off a plate of berries and then leaves. Simon is first to the plate, then La'ir carries Danielle and then Balaa over to the plates and sets them down.

"Enjoy, everyone," says the Ninetales with a grateful smile.

"And then to adventure!" calls Simon.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Adventure!!" She said before digging in to the berries. Happy that they were all there, happy that they were alive, just happy.

 

[JessieSune]

It only takes a few minutes for everyone to finish, and then La'ir stands and beckons Danielle and Simon over.

"Since your mother is out of commission, we'll have to do some work for her today."

"Sounds like fun," says Simon, "but what can we do?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"You need us to help protect the orb?" She asked

 

[JessieSune]

"Right. You have your mother's psychic skills. I'm more of a physical fighter. It's part of why we go so well together! So I'm going to ask you to help me keep an eye on things and try to block trouble before it comes."

"And me?"

"You'll bring the morale," says La'ir with a warm smile.

 

[AmethystRoze]

She smiled a the response poor simon tried his best. "We make a great team!" She said cheery, walking up to Simon and nuzzling him.

 

[JessieSune]

"Thanks," he says with a blush.

"Alright, awaiting your command, your highness!" says La'ir with a laugh.

"Stay safe, alright everyone?" Balaa stretches -- she's looking much better now.

"Ok Mommy!" She said turning towards daddy. "Let's go!" She said excited to go out with daddy and Simon

 

[JessieSune]

He nods, picks up both Simon and Danielle, places them on his shoulders, and then exits the cave, quietly striding towards the home of the Life Orb.

"Hey, Danielle? I heard you've been practicing your levitation." This is followed by a very slight smile.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yeah! I'm getting really good at it, I might even be as good as mommy some day" she said, as happy as can be.

 

[JessieSune]

"I bet you'll be even better!" says Simon.

"You are a very talented young lady," adds La'ir. "I'm so glad to have you."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"And I'm glad to have a daddy like you!" She said nuzzling the side of his face.

 

[JessieSune]

He grins, clearly surprised and pleased. A few moments later they're at the same place as last time. La'ir takes his stance by the box, and then lets the two small Pokemon down.

"I will stay here. You prevent any advance problems, okay?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Ok daddy." She said, still cheery though slightly sad they had to split up. She walked away, not quite out of sight trying to sense for any danger.

 

[JessieSune]

It's pretty quiet, other than Simon asking questions about things. No sinister presence appears, no unusual sounds are heard. Balaa's advice echoes through Danielle's mind.

"The world is often quietest when it is most active. Seek out the hearts of those nearby and see what they see."

She did so and scaned for a nearby pokemon to see through.

 

[JessieSune]

It doesn't take long before Danielle can sense a nearby Eevee minding its own business in the glade. He seems more or less unaware of the others. Simon, meanwhile, sniffs the air but seems otherwise unoccupied.

 

[AmethystRoze]

She enters the eevees mind and see through it's eyes, looking for danger.

 

[JessieSune]

Being inside the quadruped Pokemon feels more natural then La'ir did. Perhaps it's the height. There's not much to see, other than a Gastly circling a tree over and over.

Eevee's mind is quiet -- it never even felt the take over.

Simon, seeing that his Vulpix companion is very focused, watches quietly.

La'ir, meanwhile, keeps his vigil.
