Fandom A Chance Meeting at Ilex Forest

She grabbed Akira with a tail and brought them down to her face placing her head on theirs. "Listen.. i'ts ok, you're not doing anything. You know how I called you favorite, how could I leave you?" She said smiling, being brave for the porr thing.

"I'm so old...so old...what if I'm not strong anymore? What if I'm not useful...or even necessary? What if the forest doesn't need me? What if...what if I'm useless now?" Akira's big eyes fill with tears as they try to stay calm and quiet. "I-I-I'm s-s-s-s-sc-c-cared." It's barely coherent through the sudden Simon-like stutter.

Danielle smiled warmly and hugged the tiny body with her tails, still keeping their heads touching. "Shhh… it'll be ok, it wasn't your fault." She said, stroking them, comforting Akira the best she could.

 

[JessieSune]

"B-b-but I-I-I s-s-s-should h-ha-have s-seen sh-she w-aw-was d-d-d-dying," protests Akira. "I-I-I u-usu-usu--usual-ly kno--know..."

The Pikamew's eyes betray a supreme effort to not cry or shake. Even with Danielle's reassurance, it's not easy -- they're trying to be brave for her.

"I know... I know.. but we know she was different.... please, it will do no one any good if you hold back all those tears, We don't want the heart of the forest to be a water balloon." She said chuckling softly.

 

[JessieSune]

That's it. Akira breaks down into sobbing, soaking the floor and even one of Danielle's tales with the sheer volume of water -- no normal Pokemon that size could cry that much.

"I'm sorry, Balaa!" they finally cry. "I promise I'll never forget everything you did for me! You were a wonderful guardian! I'm sorry I couldn't...couldn't do enough to guard you too..."

Having said their piece, they curl almost into a ball, hands over their eyes.

Danielle covers as much of them as is possible, crying softly with them, she didn't know what else to do so she stayed in the position.

 

[JessieSune]

"Number....number forty three," Akira mumbles. "That's number forty three I've lost...why can't I ever save them? Why can't I ever do enough to save them, Danielle?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"There are some things we cant control, we cant command death favorite." Danielle said, sadly. She continued to stroke their head.

 

[JessieSune]

"But I never seem to die. Why must everyone I love leave me, and I have to stay? And...and now I had to lose an old guardian in front of my new one...just as she was becoming happy."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"I don't know.. life isnt fair is it? But we have to get past the unfair bits so we can live through the fun ones appreciatively." She said, slightly speaking to herself as well. (gtg)

 

[JessieSune]

"You're right. Thank you, Danielle. We'll...we'll both miss her."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yeah... now, we cant go to breakfast looking all sad can we?" She said wiping off Akiras and her own tears. "If you want to talk i'll always be here for you. Always."

 

[JessieSune]

"You're right," replies the fusion. "I hope you know I'll always be ready to talk too. We gotta lean on each other -- no matter how hard it gets."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Right!" She said, smiling. "Now are you ready fr some of the best food you ever ate?"

 

[JessieSune]

"Is it really that good?" Akira looks curious.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Mmhmm, good enough to make any guardian of the forest ask for more." She said chuckling.

 

[JessieSune]

"Wow..." Akira looks impressed.

"Alright, time for food!" Shelby's voice echoes across the room.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Ready?" She asked Akira, raising an eyebrow playfully.

 

[JessieSune]

Akira nods and follows Danielle into the kitchen.

Shelby sets out three plates. "I thought maybe you'd want some food by the time I was done. I made you both omelettes again."

"I dunno what that is but it sounds nice!" Akira half-smiles.

Danielle smiled wide. "Oh it is." She said, looking at Akira, happy to get them pumped. "It's like a bomb of savory goodness goes off in your mouth." She said, winking at Shelby.

 

[JessieSune]

"You're too kind," laughs Shelby. A moment later Akira is digging in -- and their look says it all.

"Can I stay with you and Shelby? Or do I have to leave?"

"Well, they've taken nicely to it. I'm glad." Shelby runs her fingers over Danielle's neck and pats her head.

 

[AmethystRoze]

She appreciates the pats, and takes them appreciatively, but was shocked by the question.

"C...can you do that and power the forest as well?" She asked, hope rising carefully. She digs into her meal in the mean time.

"This is wonderful as always Shelby!"

 

[JessieSune]

"I...dunno. I've never left the forest before. But...I'd be willing to try."

"You act like I've fed it to you your whole life, sweetie. You know, though -- I appreciate you being so wonderful about it."

The sun is beginning to peek over the horizon.

"I'm gonna have to go to work today...but you don't have to come if you don't want to."

Danielle looks at Akira, then looks back at Shelby... We could all be one happy family... "M...maybe we try it just for a few days, and see how it works?"
