Danielle seeing Shelby come in, got up, careful not to wake Akira, and walked over to her, obviously she was exhausted. She leaned against her trainers legs and put her head up on her lap, looking her in the eye.

 

[JessieSune]

"I'm sorry..." she says, reaching out to stroke her head. "I tried everything I knew."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"It's fine... it wasn't your fault." She said before her eyes turned blue. Get some rest, you deserve it.

 

[JessieSune]

Shelby's hand relaxes, and she begins to doze. Soon she's completely asleep.

Danielle smiles slightly and gets into her lap, making sure not to disturb Akira or Shelby.

The day passes quietly -- everyone rests through most of it. Then night comes.

Danielle stirred slightly. It's night time already..... we must have slept through the day. She thought, her head slightly groggy. She dared not get up now, afraid of waking Shelby.

(Cya!!!)

Shelby stirs, then notices the fluff ball in her lap.

"We slept through the day, huh honey?" She whispers.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yeah.."She said, trying to put on her happy face.

 

[JessieSune]

"It wasn't a very good night, was it?" she's solemn, but runs her hand over Danielle's head.

 

[AmethystRoze]

The gentle strokes comfort her and she nuzzled into them some. "No.. But it'll be ok" she said, determined.

 

[JessieSune]

"Thank you for being so brave. I was scared," Shelby admits.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"I..I still am " Danielle admitted.

 

[JessieSune]

"I know. There's no need to feel bad about that, you know."

 

[AmethystRoze]

She simply nodded, her heart was torn in two, did she have to choose between Akira and Shelby?

 

[JessieSune]

Akira stretches, then floats upwards, looking tired. "Hello..." they say, trying to shake out the sleep.

"So that's the creature you guard? She...he? It? Um...very cute."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yes, that's the heart of the forest" Danielle said confirming. "Did you sleep well Akira?" She asked.

 

[JessieSune]

"No," replies Akira, "I didn't sleep very well. But it's not anyone's fault. I just...didn't."

Shelby is awed. "That much life in one little heart?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"I'm sorry." She said licking the pikamew. "Time that it wasn't your fault either right?" She said, referencing her mother.

 

[JessieSune]

"Right..." Akira says. "I'm still sorry, though."

Shelby takes a deep breath. "Are either of you hungry?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"I'm not, but I bet I know a certain pikamew who might be." She said, playfully tickling their chin with her tail.

 

[JessieSune]

"I am hungry," says Akira bashfully.

"Then I'll make something sweet for you. You two stay right here, okay?"

She leaves.

"Are--are you going to leave me behind?" Akira asks nervously. "I wouldn't blame you...I mean...it seems nice here."

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielles heart ached, Akiras question pierced her like a dart. "I... of course not, I couldn't leave you behind." She said licking the pikamew off.

 

[JessieSune]

"I mean," says Akira gently, "It's not like I think you wanted to...but this is such a nice home and...and...and I couldn't..."

They can't finish.
