Yeah but even the USA doesn't hacve rail gun small arms. USA RIGHT NOW in rela life has a rail gun. You can get a rial gun cannon in a decade likely. A small arm for troops is decades away
Luckily for us, this RP takes place decades in the future.

Any kind of directed energy or magnetic footmobile weaponry will be outperformed by conventional ballistics for decades.

I feel like a small arm rail gun wouldn't be powerful enough to launch a projectile at high speeds. It would be quiet a bulky and heavy gun and I don't think it would work being that small
The American rail guns could fire well over Mach 5 or so. Mines will of course not fire that far but, this won't be a small arm...it's more like a tank cannon then a standard issue for my troops. Extremely long range as well.

From you pic it looked like a soldier small arm, sorry :3

Tank cannon would work. Need a lot of work but it could eventually out perform conventional weaponry

Yes, but no one has been working on rail guns in the past really besides USA so.... your starting almost form scratch

I disagree, if we put together lets say a railgun (Because I'm researching one) and a conventional gunpowder cannon, the railgun outperforms in-

Power

Range

No risk of premature explosions

The conventional cannon only outperforms the railgun in maintenance and cost.

France if u help me I let u keep Syria maybe :(

You're forgetting the huge power demand these weapons have. For a tank or ship, it's not as big of an issue as they can carry a large battery or generator to power it. A soldier would have to load a charge pack after every shot. It would be like sending your men into battle with really accurate muskets. Until you found a way to create a small generator, or heck and contained fusion reactor, that could be used as the power source, handheld railguns are pretty impractical. I'm just playing devil's advocate, railguns are cool as hell.

The only railguns I found were either colossal or small arms...so I just went for the small arm :P

Rail gun turrets (initially) would be too slow for AA. Rail guns are heavy, they wouldn't turn fast enogh

This railgun is meant for tanks, I might even put this on gunships. After my ally, Nordic Union is done with his project it might become a standard issue for soldiers...maybe? Maybe not.

More like decade 2015-2031 (current year) and with the current backstory as the world was kind of stagnated by the threat of Daesh, many of these advancements (exonaut, railguns, etc.) are still very much future advancements.

Railguns, for the forseable future, will only be feasible as main cannons for tanks and ships. The increased cost and combat important combat inadequacies of the weapon makes them a poor choice for footmobile weapons (except for, perhaps AT or anti-material rifles). There's a reason the UNSMC in Halo still uses bullets. It's a tried and true, and very cheap technology.

So uh im producing some of Irans homegrown fighter jets. That k?

Need I also remind you all that a modern military rifle does a fine job of killing people? A railgun would be extreme overkill. You'd probably have an uptick in PTSD in your army from soldiers having seen people with their torso blown completely off.

The railgun can be used to wreck an human wave. Probably can go through 50 soldiers...and then explode, wounding the others.

Also, to go along with railguns, for tanks especially, you'll need to find a way to get an adequate power source (most likely a giant battery, which in turn would be a huge weak point.)

Who stands fifty deep and lets someone shoot at them?
