Nation Building 2028 A World of Strife (Modern)

the German mark is a valid replacement, the problem in the us is the brief shortage of gasoline not the lack of oil or the Chinese liquidation of assets.
Actually the mark is nowhere close anything that could compare would be the Chinese Yuan but that too is kinda far off. Altough I think I remember that the BRICS were planing to set up a new world currency , that could work

The mark is worth more than the US dollar but your right it's not internationally used like the dollar or the yuan

The BRICS could make a good substitute currency (Brazil ,Russia,China,India,SA)

Ahh, the oil shortage. I was thinking it was similar to the OPEC US Embargo. So, saying every business shutting down seems a bit drastic to me, but then again it depends on the scale of this shortage.

Edit: BRICS didn't suggest that they make the currency themselves. (Imagine though... who among them would run the central bank? Or would it be mired by bureaucracy and disagreements between the nations?) They proposed a Global sovereign currency that every country adopted. Funny enough, their new banks that they made last year use funds denominated from the USD. So, they're not that serious about the proposed currency.

Every business is not shutting down the thing is people will lose million's in just one day of businesses not producing stuff . This is not the main problem the main problem is the hysteria this might cause , many would like to cut their losses and sell stocks at a much lower price.

USA has a gasoline reserve of 1 month. Assuming its still there they HAVE to get some gasoline this turn otherwise their economy will plunge

Oh, I'm not arguing that. The US economy would see a recession just like after the Oil Embargo. It's just a question of how severe.
I think its come to the point that they'll have to import to survive . there still be inter state disparities will still exist oil rich states like Alaska will pull through. If The US doesn't a cheap source of oil I guess we're all doomed.

The new president is a republican who actually doesn't support gun control, and is cracking down on immigration.
your problems cant be instantly solves

So I did some math...Balkan oil and gas reserves are mighty (} :) ) Coupled with our access to the Adriatic Sea and Black Sea. Do not worry! Balkan Confederation will be the next major oil exporter! (I have sources to)
