1x1 Getting Back Home With Magic

Another day had passed by like any other day. Dante was sleeping on the couch. He came home 2 a.m. Him and his friends were messing around as usual but this time, they went into an abandoned hospital and used spells to blow up walls. Dante casted spells from his hands. Wands were for nerds and losers. While they were in the hospital yesterday, he used a spell to add lights inside. It was a neon blue light that was in the shape of a flame ball. Everything was going well until the cops came. Then they all had to run away and hide. They all laughed but Dante was running from the cops and then lost them finally. He had one hell of a night and then came home and crashed on the couch. Boy...it was good last night. Dante was ready to get up but just tossed and turned on the couch.

Ellie cracked open the book, she couldn't sleep as late as it was. She read the book dozens of times, yet she never got sick of it. Ellie flipped the pages searching for her favorite chapter. She normally read cover to cover, but wasn't in the mood right now. Ellie was looking for a particular scene that she knew would cheer her up. After a harsh day of school, Ellie certainly didn't have a smile on her face. Nothing much happened. Ellie just had to suffer through a massive test. She studied quite hard, and of course she didn't think that she put enough hours in her revision. It was a crazy idea, but that thought passed through Ellie's mind often.

After a couple more moments, Dante finally willed himself to get off of the couch. He looked over at the cable box that showed the time. "7:38 a.m. Ugh... I hate waking up early." He said to himself as he started stretching out. He looked over to his mother's bedroom and saw that she was fast asleep. "Hopefully she won't notice that I came home. " He chuckled silently to himself. He then got up and put on his black boots that looked like a dude on a motorcycle would wear them. They were really cool and looked like a punk would wear him. Of course, he fit the part. He then stood up and put his leather jacket on, ready to head outside and skip school again.

Ellie grabbed an apple, "Bye mom! See you after school!" She buttoned up her sweater, tied her shoes, and opened up the door ready to start the day. Soon enough Ellie was navigating through the halls, making her way to her next class; Potions. Her Professor was an "old bat" well, according the rest of the student body. Ellie thought he was a decent man, sure he's strict but he was... sometimes nice. Ellie walked into the classroom taking her seat. She quickly copied down the homework in her tiny print. Seconds later the rest of her classmates arrived; laughing with each other and calling out to their other friends. If I only I had friends like that. It would have been, Ellie pondered for the right word. Pleasant. It would have been pleasant to have friends.

Dante had met up with his friends. They started roaming the streets, trying to find some things to play around with or to mess up. They were having a pretty fun time but not as much fun as yesterday. There were about four other gives in the group not including himself. Jerry, Dante, Tyler, Michael, and Andy. They all were 'best buds' that hung around most of the time. Andy was the last guy to join the group. He joined last year while the rest have been together for three years. Now, they were all having a good time. They thought that they should go to school at lunchtime just to eat.

I took out my cauldron, quill, wand, and parchment as the class gradually became quite. Professor Nightshade scanned the class as his eyes shone with dark mirth. "Today, you'll brew Amortentia. Well," he said sneering. "Only some of you will be successful. Amortentia. What is it?"

My hand shot up and I instantly replied not thinking twice. "Amortentia, is the most powerful love portion in existence. It causes intense infatuation or obsession from the drinker," I took a pause took look at the rest of my class. Most looked bored, some took notes. "Amortentia, of course, doesn't create actual love. That's impossible."

The boys were in the woods, running around and casting spells on each other. Of course, Jerry put a tail on Dante. However, Dante got him back by casting donkey ears on his head. The other guy started laughing and started making donkey noises. Even Jerry was laughing..even though he was the one being laughed at. "God...another hour before lunch starts...Why can't we just go and eat out..?" Michael complained. "Because, I don't want mom ripping my head off saying I didn't even go. At least I showed up. Right?" Tyler chuckled. "Don't worry, as long as we keep acting like Jerry..I mean asses." Dante chuckled. "We'll be fine and time will fly by." He added. "Oh ha ha. At least I don't have a tail. Looks like I pinned it on the donkey." Jerry said, snickering at Dante. Andy had been laughing the whole time. He was the baby of the group. He was still a little shy but had a lot of fun around the guys.

Ellie beamed down at her cauldron; it was the right shade of red. It took Ellie around an hour to make, 'the more complex the potions the longer they take to brew', she thought. 'Well, that is valid most of the time, of course there are exceptions. '

Professor Nightshade poked fun of everyone's potion. No surprise there. Other then that her class was quite successful. Only one cauldron exploded, three people were sent to the hospital wing. She hoped they weren't all that badly injuried, those boils did seem quite painful. And, of course, everyone involved in the explosion received a zero. Ellie knew that she won't get a hundred; Professer Nightshade never gave out a hundred in potions. She took out a vial and filled it up with Amortentia, then placed it on her Professor's desk. Next is History. How fun.

A little while passed later. "Ugh..How much time now..? My stomach is so loud.." Michael continued complaining. "Just another thirty minutes, cool it." Dante said, laughing a little. The boys were now walking around town again, just hanging out. They looked like a clique when they really weren't. However, they did look like punks though. Punks that you knew they messed around but were 'good-hearted trouble0makers' when you really knew them. If you had to choose the meanest guy out of the group, it would be Dante. Because of the way he grew up and how he treats others. He really only treats his friends and mother with true respect.

As Ellie excepted History was as boring as ever. She lazily took notes and thought up a billion other things she could have been doing right now. Professor Binns droned on about goblin wars. Like Ellie none of the class was interested much, they instead slept as their teacher talked. Wars are interesting, but Professor Binns steals the fun out of everything, Ellie thought as she looked out the window. And, of course, as the Professor narrated on a particularly gruesome death he kept his voice in complete monotone. Ellie grinned knowing she was correct in if it was as something as trivial as that.

"Alright..second period is almost finished. After that, it should be lunch time. Then we can eat." Dante told them. "Thank god..." They all said. Then they all looked at each other and started laughing at how they said the same things. Dante was laughing with them but not as much as the other guys. After a couple seconds, Dante heard a groan and looked down at his stomach. He was getting hungry...Good thing class would be over very soon.

The bell rang surprising everyone. "Continue to research the goblin wars of 1731. There will be a test Thursday," Professor Binns said over the students' chatter. The next period was lunch, the whole class was relieved. Ellie made plans on skipping lunch and going straight to the library. She did have a test on Thursday, Ellie wanted ace it. As the rest of the school filed down to the dining hall, Ellie went down the corridor. She greeted the librarian with a tired smiling making her to a table. "Everything You Need to Know About Goblins. How To Keep a Goblin As a Pet. The History of Goblins," Ellie murmured tracing the spine on each book. "The Goblin Wars of 1731," she said smiling getting the book off the shelf.

"YES WE GET TO EAT NOW!" Michael yelled as they all started running towards the school. "Finally..!" Tyler added. "I'm starving!" Andy finally said something! All five boys were running and Jerry still had the donkey tail and Dante had the ears. The way that they could go in was through the library. Once they came inside, they were making so much noise. The librarian gave them dirty looks but she never said anything to them because she knew that they were the trouble makers that wouldn't listen to either way. Dante was laughing the loudest though. "Shush guys! People are studying..!!" Dante laughed.

A "shush guys!" destroyed my train of thought. "People are studying!" the boy yelled. Yes, they are people studying, I thought giving them a dirty look. At least, they were leaving soon. They didn't seem to be the type that spent time in libraries. I went back to the book, continuing my notes. "Goblin rebellions. They were a series of rebellions in which the goblin population of the Wizarding World revolted against discrimination and prejudice toward their kind by wizards and witches," I read out loud. If they were talking so should I.

Tyler started giggling. "Wars I tell you..! Good sir Andy, I shall turn you into a Goblin to duel with me!" Tyler said, holding out his wand at Andy. Andy pulled out his wand and kept laughing, overhearing the girl that was reading aloud. "I would turn you into a goblin...but it'd make you look uglier." Tyler added. Andy punched Tyler's stomach, laughing. Michael had laughed. "Pertruso!" He yelled, making Andy turn green. "Well you're the color of one now." He laughed. Dante kept laughing and started pushing them out of the library.

I rolled my eyes at their childish antics, and went back to my notes. "Goblin rebellions were most prevalent during the seventeenth and eighteenth century," I said as my voice rose in pitch. "But even in modern times there are subversive goblin groups working in secret." I went on my voice louder then the boys. "In the eighteenth century a particularly famous rebellion was lead by a goblin named Urg."

Dante laughed. "She's mad. Better leave." He said sarcastically. They all left through the door and slammed the door. They all went to the lunchroom and got trays, paying for their lunches and then they went to their usual table and sat down, eating and playing around. Some of the girls that had crushes on them were laughing at Andy, Jerry, and Dante for how they looked.

Brilliant, Ellie thought as the last of them left. I can study in peace. She put away that textbook and replaced it with another one. Ellie scrawled away taking notes on the effects of Amortentia. She glanced up at the clock. Fifteen more minutes until lunch is over. Ellie flipped through the pages looking for something to spark her interest. Nothing did. Again she looked at the clock. Thirteen minutes left. Throwing the textbooks in her bag she decided to walk around a bit.

(Should we just skip when Ellie and Dante get transferred to the real world? Kind of getting bored with them just eating and not doing anything right now ._. )

(Alright. Could you just post for when Ellie gets transferred? A little busy right now :\ But I will make my next post really good!)

As Ellie walked under a arch getting to her next class; Charms, everything went black, air was sucked out of her lungs, it was a struggle breathing. She was spinning in the air, nearing the ground at a dangerous speed. As Ellie was in the mercy of the winds, she was tossed in all directions. Not getting any closer the ground. Not getting any closer to the sky. Ellie was just there. Spinning. It didn't seem to end.

*******

With a bone crushing thud! Ellie fell to the earth, relieved. As she tried slowing down her heart, Ellie studied her surrounding. The sky dotted with clouds seemed as blue as ever. The only major difference she noticed now were the building. It was as if they were helping Altas hold up the sky.

Dante had left his friends, starting to head home because he forgot to get something. He was walking in an alleyway he usually took until he stopped. He started coughing and felt himself feel like he was getting stretched. He yelled and felt himself twisting and turning until he got transferred to some streets. He saw people walking and quickly ran to a trashcan to vomit. He then got up and looked around, seeing that he was in a city..but an unfamiliar one. "What the hell?" He said.

"Excuse me, but could-" Ellie tried asking before she was rudely shoved aside. Okay, then I'll just try again. "Excuse me-" she made in less progress then before. "Sir, could you tell-" again she got the same response. This is getting nowhere, she thought losing hope. "What the hell?" a boy murmured to himself. Ellie glanced in his direction. "He looks as rude as the others. He'll be no help," Ellie remarked, before spinning on her heel and trying to find a person that will at least let her finish her sentence.
