Since he spends a lot of time in Creation, Moonshadow Abyssal Bob decides he wants to learn Seven Shadow Evasion instead of the abyssal mirror to avoid the wp cost due to the spectral keyword.
1. Would Bob be able to buy the Shadow Over Water/Seven Shadow Evasion upgrade (Glories Unconquered...
I've done some quick searching in previous threads about the subject but they have just left me more confused.
The rule for grappling (core, pg 157) states:
Bold emphasis mine.
Let's say you are fighting a grappling specialist. Assume you have a step 2 perfect defense (either SSE or HGD)...
Does using Reflex Sidestep Technique against an unexpected attack allow you to use only your DDV against said attack, or can you use either PDV or DDV as you see fit? In particular, the phrase "The attack is no longer unexpected" seems to me to allow reasonable doubt for using PDV, and it is not...
Re: Casting "Banish Ghost" on a Deathlord, and the Implicati
This is not entirely true. Abyssals, pg 51:
I am not saying this proves they are immune to necromancy, simply pointing out that it is a possibility.
For reference, this expansion charm to solar hero style is found in one of the Dreams of the First Age books. It states that it allows other solar hero style charms to be used without being counted as charm use provided that you're not using a particular charm two actions in a row. So my...
For clarity, this is the last charm of the abyssal hero style found in the MoEP: Abyssals.
Initially I thought this charm worked like Solar Hero Form - invoke it once, then spend the mote reflexively whenever you want to use it during the scene, which did not count as a charm use. However, the...
Finding such a charm is what made me think about it. Void Avatar Prana (MoeP: Abyssals, Pg. 186) has an effect that explicitly causes unsoakable lethal damage, and I'm sure there are other examples.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying.
I was under the impression that unsoakable damage meant that natural soak was inapplicable, but that soak from armor would still reduce said damage. However, I have not been able to find any references in second edition books confirming that this is the case.
Is my understanding correct? If...
It's been said (can't find by whom) that the Lunars would attack and then retreat and replenish, fighting a guerilla warfare. Â Guerilla tactics work well with occupying forces, since they wear the garrisons down. Â But the FaFL isn't an occupying force; he's out to destroy everything in his...
My vote goes for the FaFL. It's not just the number of troops he has, or the amount of artifacts and first age equipment, or his sky fleet (each of these things alone can easily destroy their best and largest counterpart in Creation), but it's he's ability to use them. Â A great general doesn't...
I thought the whole point of the rebellion against the Primordials was that the Celestines wouldn't have to work anymore!
Seriously, wasn't that at least part of the reason they rebelled? To stop having to take care of Creation, and relegate that job to others, while they only (and...
I don't think you can dismiss Robes just that easily.  Sure, she may not have many combat charms, and be more focused on Presence and Performance Charms, but have you  seen Abyssal Prescence and Perfomance Charms? Besides soothing and distracting the other combatants with her beautiful music...
The Solars know what will happen to their CORPSES if they die, but their higher souls will either linger on as ghosts in the underworld (unpleasent given the cause of their demise), or reenter the cycle of reincarnation.
The Abyssals, on the other hand, KNOW (or at least suspect- after all...
