The four Exalted trade a glance with one another, then the spokesperson of the four smiles and says, “But of course. We can talk and establish some sort of discourse between the peoples of the Great Maker and Shadar Logoth. Diplomacy is always preferred over the alternative.”

They then stride across the field to get to the pavilion and they chose spots to sit across the table from where Voice has chosen as her spot. Then, First Among Many steeples his fingers as he looks across the table at the assembled Abyssals. “We are here at your invitation.” His hand waves to indicate the tent, then says, “So as your guests, I believe it to be proper for your delegation to start with your opening statement.”

Flashing red lights.

These outsiders had a strange language and possibly stranger customs, but from the looks those two gave him that might be trouble. So he tightened his thighs around the sides of his faerie horse. A sign to tactically retreat if the situation called for it. Holding up his hands he said. "Be at peace! I have no Ill will to you or your people! I came in peace as an emissary to my associates and my mistress. I mean no harm to you or your people please BELIEVE ME!"

Sliding along behind the woman in her gold armor and skin, Cuckoo follows her towards the giant head. Then a strange thing happens. The head shifts and the mouth closes, and the giant eyes look down at you. In a loud voice you hear from all around you in Old Realm, “AN INTRUDER IS AT THE PORTAL. DETAIN HIM. CHAMPIONS TO THE PORTAL. INTRUDER ALERT.” Red lights begin to flash and you can hear the sound of many feet running in your direction.

You have mere moments before you are surrounded, but you still have time to react. What do you do?

Cuckoo grumbles at this turn of events.
He knew he had three options, one to stay and let them take him into custody. Not gonna happen.
Two, to escape as fast as possible. He trusted he has some chance, but he only had one charm to help him, and he didn't know yet the extent of their abilities.
Three, to hide somewhere until he can make his escape. Again, just one Charm to make it work, and he had to stay still for it to work.
So many variables, and so little time.

But instinct takes over, and he starts running away, a swift shadow moving through this alien city.

He starts running. If they pursue him, he spends 3m to activate Shadow Races the Light, causing their 1s and 2s to reroll successes, starting from 7+. And 4 Peripheral motes to add 4 dice on his Athletics roll. I have 11 successes

Deathbringer's withered lips peeled back into a sneer, the thin flesh curling like a serpent hidden behind his mask. He imagined these Exalts hopelessly enthralled to the true powerbrokers of death, their mechanical might enforcing the edicts of the undead titans amongst the shackled and phantasmal remnants of their people. Yes, I suppose in the face of such utter decimation, diplomacy would pose the preferred alternative.

The deathknight held his tongue, allowing Voice to open negotiations as she had taken the initiative and set the parlay into motion.

Voice puts on her pleasant face and offers up a smile. “I am called Voice That Whispers from the Heart of Darkness, but you may call me Voice for convenience sake. You have introduced yourself; but we don’t know the names of your comrades. Will you please share your names so we can address you properly? I do hope that we do not offend you through our ignorance of your ways.”

With an idle wave of her hand, she motions to a waiting servant to bring our glasses and some fresh water to serve to everyone. Personally she’d prefer something with a bit more kick, but alcohol might be a mistake right now.

As you run, the first bunch of guards to respond to the alert run right past you, clearly not seeing you. But they suddenly come to a halt. It seems that the one in charge of this bunch is listening to something, then he points back in your general direction, saying, “Our intruder is a sneaky one; apparently we went right past him! Be on your toes! Our quarry may be an Essence user to be able to vanish like this.”

They continue to chase after you, and the leader is clearly being guided on your trail by someone.

It is not long before you spot some of these manufactured Exalts joining in the chase. It is going to be hard for you to remain here and not be discovered and detained.

The workers and guards along with the one called People’s Force of Industry look impressed by your display, but Silent Bearer of Witness is not as easily moved. The two Exalts rattle off a rapid conversation in Old Realm before Silent looks up at you on your steed and says, “What is your name, stranger? And what brings you here, so far within our borders?”

First Among Many accepts the proffered goblet of water without taking his eyes off of Voice. “Of course. Allow me to introduce my comrades.” He takes a sip of the beverage before setting it down, motioning to the woman in black, saying, “This is Piercing Needle of Inquiry.” Indicating the being with the jade armor and rolling ball instead of legs, he says, “Burning Ember of Victory.” As to the last member of the four, the woman made of starmetal, he says, “Curious Heart of Invention. Now that we have given you our names, will you do the same of your fellows? The sooner we know who we are dealing with, the faster we can get answers to our many questions that we have for you.”

Cuckoo realizes he need to get away for a while. He leap up onto one of the buildings, and scans the area to see how close he was to the edge of this city.
If he was close, he'd make it out as fast as possible, without worrying for being spotted. Good luck discovering his identity if they force him to go totemic. But if he was still a good way away from the city's edge, he'll throw them off, and hide in it. Better to make them paranoid.

"I am called the Knight Errant in the Blood Red Cloak m'lady." He dipped his head in respect from his horse. "And I have come only to make contact with you and you people. My lady has noticed you arrival to creation, and being so new here she figure you would need allies. I was sent forth to start a dialogue with you and to gauge your interest in making an alliance. Again I meant no harm or disrespect."

Deathbringer also stood silently, his neutral mask providing their guests nothing to go off of as he waited to see how Voice decided to answer the strange foreign exalt's question.

Voice offers up a sweet smile, picturing in her mind the pleasing thought of seeing these self-inflated fools looking on in horror as the Great Contagion rips its way through the heart of their famed Autochthon. Ah, how rewarding that will be.

With a silky soft voice, she says, "Of course I will introduce my companions to you. There is Withered Deathbringer of Desicated Sands and Unholy Glories, Scion of the House of Bone and Ash, and Hunger Clad in Eight Broken Chains. We are the chosen servants of the Deathlords The Deliverer of Dark Dreams and Nightmares and the Twisted Toymaker. Our Masters have come aware of your presence, and they are wanting to establish formal relations with your people. To that end, we have come here to learn more of you and your peoples, along with sharing with you information about our lands, considering that it has been a rather long time since the Great Maker left with your ancestors into Elsewhere. I am sure you have many questions about Creation that we can help provide you with."

Cuckoo would realize that the giant head that comprises the gateway to the Great Maker is in the very center of the city that is a perfect hexagon, so any direction you run will lead you away from the center and out towards the edge of the city. The place is rather compact, with the construction going higher and upwards instead of out and away from the center as much, so the outer wall is not very far away from the center.

It takes quite a bit of effort, utilizing your skills and Charms together, but you believe that you've finally succeeded in ditching the pursuit force of mortal soldiers and the handful of Exalted that have joined in the effort to capture you. At this point, you can either slip out of the city since the locals are on edge at the moment, or stay put and try to divine more about these strangers and communicate that knowledge back to the rest of the Circle. What do you wish to do?

Silent Bearer of Witness looks up at you on your steed and seems curious, but guarded in her response. "I am curious as to how you were able to come to the city of Ot without being detected by our outlying sentry grids, and how you were able to discover the location of the city in the first place. I would like to escort you into the city, along with People's Force of Industry and my escorts, to meet with members of the Tripartite Assembly, where those skilled in the ways of diplomacy can begin the process of negotiations with you. This way, please."

The impression that you get is that this is not really a request, but instead a nicely worded command. What do you do?

First Among Many responds with, "I am not familiar with the term 'Deathlord', but I suspect that it would have something to do with the large fighting force of non-living beings that you have assembled here on our doorstep. It is a matter of some concern as to just how you were able to have gotten through the lands we have laid claim to with such a sizable fighting force. It was said that you hail from a location known as Shadar Logoth. We are unfamiliar with that, most likely given the length of time between our ancestors' departure from Creation and our arrival here, so you have us at a slight disadvantage."

The woman called Curious Heart of Invention then asks, "How is it that you animate your constructs of flesh and bone? Is it through a mechanical means, or more of a sorcerous method?"

Voice nods at this, saying, “Shadar Logoth is in the Underworld, the lands of the dead. That is where’s we hail from. My Master, the Deliverer of Dark Dreams and Nightmares and The Twisted Toymaker, are ancient beings that were alive in the very beginnings of the First Age. Since our lands are removed from those of the Creation-born, the Dark Lady wanted to learn more of you and your people while sharing with you items of import that you may not know due to your long absence from your ancestral home. It is her hope that we can establish friendly relations with you, and eventually become allies.”

The woman called Curious Heart of Invention then asks, "How is it that you animate your constructs of flesh and bone? Is it through a mechanical means, or more of a sorcerous method?"
With an apologetic expression, she says, “Just as you have some secrets that you hold close, so do we. I believe it works be premature to to discuss the nature of our armed forces at this time.”

Hunger Clad in Eight Broken Chains is bored. All this talking and no action! It was completely unfair to expect him to go without entertainment.

Seventh to Serve recognizes the flexing of the Deathknight's fingers and subtle gnashing of his teeth and starts edging away from him, hoping she can put someone else between her and the undead giant she's bound to before he seizes the person closest to him.

Her caution proves unnecessary for the moment as Hunger Clad in Eight Broken Chains manages to alleviate his boredom by imagining himself tearing the diplomatic delegation to pieces one at a time with his bare hands.

Knowing he can still communicate with his fellow Abyssals, Cuckoo decides to go to ground in the city. He just needed a place to lay low, so he looks around for a place where he can remain hidden.

“Certainly.” Still on horseback Knight kicked his steed to a canter and followed them into the city proper. “My lady keep’s abreast of all that happens in creation. I was told to meet your people and make friendly contact.

After some protracted negotiations, First Among Equals is offering to the Circle a chance to gain access to the city in order to meet with their ruling council, but he is adamant that the undead forces will be under heavy scrutiny and only a token escort will be allowed into the city with the bulk of your forces being allowed to camp outside the exterior of their defense wall. Ideally, your forces would remain here at the shadowland while you and your honor guard enter the city. He is firm in this restriction, saying that it is enough of a danger to have so many unknown Exalted allowed access and having your troops actually in the walls is a danger to his people.

If this stipulation is agreed upon, he is willing to send word ahead and then ride along with you and your honor guard into the city now.

After a bit of effort, you are fairly confident that you have ditched the pursuit that has been hounding your heels. From what you’ve been seeing, the level of security has been increased around the place in general, with the few guards that were out having been increased in number and vigilance. As of now, the portal to Autochthon has not been opened again, showing that they are taking your intrusion seriously. What do you do now?

The two Exalts take up position on either side of you while the mortal guards fall in to the rear and you are then escorted onto the city of Ot. While that is going on, the work crew behind you resumes their efforts to raise up the walls that they were working on when you initially approached.

As you are led into the city, you are taken aback by the odd construction and layout, and you are fairly confident that this is intentional to help confuse outsiders trying to force entrance to the city. This is clearly a military minded city, with none of the things you works normally see in a city: children playing in the streets, merchants hawking their wares, and the smells of bakeries making bread for the locals.

The place is also unique in the fact that the builders have elected to raise their buildings up high instead of spreading out wide despite the fact that there is plenty of room to do so. At this point the reason for doing so escapes you. Do you ask any questions as you are led in?

After First Among Equals presented his offer, Deathbringer quietly steepled his fingers and nodded. Leaving their forces outside the city would effectively cut them off from any reinforcements if such a need should arise. An arrogant sneer stretched hidden across the horrific exalt's face. If a circle of Abyssals such as ours could actually be challenged by these second-rate exalted, then we deserve to be cut-off and replaced.

He leaned towards Voice from his seated position. "I think we take them up on their offer," he whispered to his undead peer. "What true threat could they possibly pose to us?"

Hunger Clad in Eight Broken Chains announces he'll only be taking Seventh to Serve with him, to the relief of his troops and the horror of Seventh to Serve.

"The sooner this is over with the sooner the better. You!"

He points at his terror-stricken servant, Seventh to Serve shaking as he lifts her until she's face to face with him.

"I'm not talking to these people, make whatever niceties are needed and say it's from me."

Stammering the ghost quickly agrees with the Deathknight, desperate to do or say whatever it takes to avoid becoming his next victim.

And as he tosses her aside it's obvious Hunger Clad in Eight Broken Chains is in a foul mood.

"I should be breaking bones and rending flesh..."

The Knight has a home in the underworld and that place seems almost lively compared to this fortress city. While undead there was certain lived in aspect to it design and feel. Even if they were but echoes of what was in the world under the sun.

“The design of your city certainly interesting, so much room to grow out but you grow up. Is that a tradition among you people?”
