Nick is a massive rarity in the apocalypse, perhaps one of the few good guys left. Despite everything, he is caring, enthusiastic, motivated, and helpful. No doubt, he certainly knows how to survive; but that doesn't mean he's lost touch with humanity like so many has. He's a man of optimism, one who would much rather talk through situations - yet his kindness isn't endless, he may put others before himself, but he has no qualms with stealing (though only what he needs) from those he does not know.
Additionally, his sarcastic attitude mixed with his humour and nonchalance even in the dire situations make him an additional rarity, usually because he is able to form a plausible way out of the situation. Yet if he can't, or the situation is extreme, like everyone he may crack under the pressure. His willpower is strong, not unbreakable. However, he does have tendency to work poorly in certain groups that try to dictate orders - a result of his lone wolf style of living.

Role: Scavenger - Nick's good level of fitness, combined with his skill in free-running and close combat make him the ideal scavenger; and he has no idea how to shoot a gun, he'd be a lousy guard.
Other: Whilst not the strongest, or most expertly trained in combat; Nick is decently trained in mixed martial arts.
