Que is, well, mentally wrong. Before the apocalypse he was just a normal kid, smooth with the ladies, and a little on the depressed side. He could often be seen hurting himself over the smallest of things, and even left all his friends behind shortly before the apocalypse. He sees pain as a way of telling him he can still feel at all... Pain is a right to him, the only thing he needs. He'll go days without food, saying he's 'Surviving off pain', or things like that.
