TERA no doubt has the best combat in any MMO so far, though it lacks in other areas as to be expected.
RIFT is good when it comes to landscape and whatnot. The open-worldness is delicious.
To me, combat, customization, and the game world are the most important factors. You have that, you have my unborn babies.

Well I don't deny that Tera was good while it lasted. But after getting to level 40 in the beta...I didn't have the motivation to re-level a character again. Rift was overall meh for me, I prefered Wow instead. Unfortunately I just don't see anything good on the horizon.
FFF14 was a wash for me, ESO is meh at best, and wildstar decided to do a stupid payment model.

I commend you for getting to level 40 on Tera. Silver, Voli and I are in the 50's and we've been fed up with the questing since level 20. Combat was the only thing keeping us there - that and a personal mission, of course. RIFT, I can see where it's similar to WoW, even though I haven't touched WoW. A lot of people used to say that RIFT would be the WoW killer. Not so much now, though.
ESO, I've never heard of, and Wildstar... wildstar is it's own special thing.

The combat keeps bringing me back from time to time, and then I instantly realize why I left in the first place.
Rift tried to hard to be a WoW killer and failed to bring anything revolutionary to the table much like most mmos these days.
ESO is Elder Scrolls Online, which basically turned out to be a glorified Skyrim costing $15 a month on top of $60
So until something wows me I am stuck with my MOBA that I have played for 4 and half years now xD

I can't blame you. If there's one thing I can give LoL, it's that it's free.
Because X game is supposed to be what Y should have been, but then X game flops and doesn't even come close to Y. Also, I've been a console gamer longer than a PC gamer.Flabbysaurus said:

Basically it comes down to size. The only real games that are meant to be "killed" usually comes down to WoW and League in the current age. The problem is both games have such a strong foundation that is literally impossible to do so. Too many game companies still try to follow through with such misconceptions and end up ruining their own game because they copy what has been down many times over in an attempt reach an unachievable goal rather than bring something fresh to the market.Flabbysaurus said:
