Personality: Chiyo is upbeat and bubbly, always with something to say, and a burst of sunshine to inject into someone's day. As a result of her chatterbox and outgoing (she seems to know just about everyone at Yuugen) personality, she happens to be one of those running the gossip mill at school. Charismatic and flirty, Chiyo is also on the hunt for her one true love, her Prince Charming, her Romeo. She thinks with her heart and can be very impulsive, including when it comes to dating.

She has an infamous dating track record, having gone on dates or been in a relationship with, according to some, more than half of the guys at Yuugen—when asked about it, she merely smiles and blushes a little, and refuses to confirm the exact number, waving it off as "having dated around, yes". Almost every time she starts something with a new guy, she's quick to get excited, and equally quick to tire of him—she's just never really clicked with anyone. It breaks her heart every time she has to breakup with someone, but she knows it's better than the alternative of leading him on. She cries after almost every breakup.

Actually, for such a cheerful person, she can be surprisingly prone to crying when it comes to books, movies and the like. She seems to feel emotions very strongly, and always ends up empathizing with the characters. She deals with any negative emotions by eating, her snack of choice being Pocky, always having some in her bag and her dorm room.

Looking at her, one may not expect Chiyo to be the heiress to one of Japan's largest corporations. Despite her status, her father didn't really force her to socialize with the other kids in her childhood, like how she'd seen some of the other wealthy elites do to their children (her mother definitely did try to give her a little nudge more than once though).

As Chiyo grew up, she became enamoured with the idea that somewhere out there, her soulmate was waiting, a perfect fit to her in every way. After entering Yuugen as a first-year, she started going on both blind dates and normal dates. She wasn't going to sit around waiting for her true love, oh no—she was going to find them, no matter what. After all, love was about hardships and trials, wasn't it? Finding the one was one of those trials, and if she wasn't willing to go through that, then perhaps she didn't deserve true love. Her mother, for different reasons, was in full support, setting meetings up for her by utilizing her connections. To her frustration, despite thinking "he's the one" so many times, the fire has dwindled out just as many times.

Of course, as heiress, Chiyo also has high standards and expectations set of her, which she tries to meet, being the people-pleaser and devoted daughter that she is. She much prefers her extracurricular activities to studying, but she tries to balance it out. Currently though, she's in the bottom half of 3-A in terms of grades, and utterly stressed out about the university entrance examinations that she'll have to take within the year.

Relationships: She's best friends with Felix van de Corput ( Soma Schicksal ), a young prodigious DJ, having met him while he was on tour in Japan. He had saved her from getting hit by a car while she was trying to retrieve the purse she had dropped on the streets. Infinitely thankful, she spent the next few days showing him around Japan, a favour which he in turn paid back by inviting her to his concert. Quickly becoming close friends due to their equally warm, sunny personalities, she was ecstatic when Felix decided to stay in Japan to attend Yuugen with her. He's taken to calling her Chi-Chi, Mi Mi and sometimes Michi.

Chiyo generally knows almost everyone at Yuugen, being willing to chat with anyone regardless of status. As such, most of the students are generally at ease with her, knowing her as a sweet social butterfly, although quite a number (especially those with something to hide) may be put off or even dislike her, due to how much she gossips. She's also famous for her dating history, which adds an extra reason to dislike her, along with baffling some when she's not quite what they expected her to be (a conniving, manipulative witch?).

She seems to be very close with her mother, but most of the time when they talk, it's about finding her a match. She doesn't mind, of course, although her reasons for going on so many dates differ from her mother's reasons (to find a suitable match and son-in-law). They can chat up a storm, usually about light topics such as her dates and or some new clothes her mother just bought. Her father, a stoic man, acts more distant, usually only giving her bits of advice about her future, or updating her on some on-goings in the corporation, since she's expected to take over in the future. He has never really acted harshly though, so she knows that should be good enough, but often she wishes he could show a bit more affection.

Bio:

Her father is a politician but is actually involved in the mafia and lots of shady and corrupt businesses. He used is job to hide his true identity and gets away with his business. Her mother is a Korean model based mostly in Hong Kong. Her parents separated when she was 8 due to continued strain of her father being callous, manipulative and abusive. Her mother took her to Hong Kong where she attended an international school but eventually her father wanted her back. Her mother compromised as he wanted to push for custody. She would return whenever she wanted after a 3-month period. She has recently just returned to Japan and to her father, but she already is starting to remember how much she hated him

Relationships:
She has a very supportive and loving relationship with her mother as she lived with just her for around 7 years. She really enjoyed doing activities with her mother [swimming, dancing, especially ballet]. She followed her mother around to shoots and watched her on the weekends.

Her father is a whole other story. While she doesn't remember much from before her parents separated and her mother refuses to every speak about him, She does remember him using her mother and herself for his own personal gain regardless of their feelings. When he got angry, and he was angry often, he would attack both Kikoyumi and her mother, mentally and physical. He would wreck up their minds and emotions and manipulate them. personality: coming off as cold, yuki is the type of person who can't be classified as introverted or extroverted. he's not quiet but at the same time, not loud. many find him intimidating because of the vibe he gives off alongside finding out what his father does for a living. though with his friends, yuki is generally humourous particularly enjoying teasing his friends. though he isn't easy to get close to, once he deems you a close friend, he becomes protective and help you as much as he can.

though, he tends to be short-tempered. if someone irritates him, he isn't afraid to clock them in the face. impartial and a risk-taker, he could care less who you are (most of the time). he's the kind of person that would reply 'so what?' if someone threatens him with his father's position. he is also the kind of guy who wouldn't think twice at jumping over a fence that would probably injure him.

despite his rather brute-like persona at times, he strongly believes in justice. it's just that he believes more in 'an eye for an eye' compared to 'he will pay for his crimes in jail'. silently considerate, he's most likely that guy who will tell you he feels like getting another drink before handing you his.

biography:
hisstory: unlike many high-society individuals in yuugen academy, yuki isn't considered a 'noble' if compared. though nobody knows, oshiro yuki was actually honda yuki until he was seven years old.

he can't really recall his childhood before he was seven years old. he only remembers glimpses or fragments of memories that seem to flash by once in awhile. from what he was told, his biological mother was a low-ranked policewoman who was stationed near the borders of the kanagawa prefecture, just outside of tokyo. she was a single mother who was divorced. originally from tokyo, she moved after her divorce to start off fresh. and she constantly worked overtime to ensure that yuki wouldn't need to struggle as they grew older.

one day on patrol, yuki's mother chased down a hit-and-run driver who killed a teenage girl. the hit-and-run driver was placed in custody and his mother became entangled in this soon complicating investigation. soon, the investigation was rushed when yuki's mother found the driver dead one day. it seemed as though someone had either snuck in and killed the driver or there was a police officer who was a dirty cop. suspicious, yuki's mother begin to dig further into the hit-and-run driver's case.

she dug deep and found that the hit-and-run driver was working for a high-profiled police officer and the teenage girl that was killed was the daughter of a rivalling politician the police officer had wanted to compete against in a prefectural election.

however, before everything was revealed, yuki's mother had suddenly passed away in a car accident and yuki, on the same day of the accident, went missing.

after investigations were forcibly pushed forward by an inspector who had been working directly in the case (who was initially aided by yuki's mother), he disclosed everything, arresting the parties responsible.

this was one of the biggest cases solved by the police in the year 2009 which helped propel this inspector's career afterwards.

honda yuki was found kidnapped and held in a warehouse. after everything settled, yuki had nowhere left to go. his biological father didn't want to take in his dead ex-wife's child and his deceased mother had no other relatives. because of this and because of his sense of responsibility and friendship towards yuki's mother, the inspector who closed the case decided to take yuki in as his own.

because the inspector knew that it would be a painful past for yuki, the inspector had his adoption and the identity of honda yuki sealed completely- ensuring that everyone only knew oshiro yuki, the son of japan's national police agency's senior commissioner, oshiro ryuunosuke.

  Kazumi is a fairly small person but despite how they make themselves out to be fragile they are actually more physically capable than they let on and have very subtle hints of toned muscles. The most notable feature is their distinctive ear shape, and a stylish pair of glasses they were on occasion when their contacts are no good.

  Kazumi comes off as warm and welcoming individual who holds an unnatural charismatic aura to them. Academically he is ahead of the class and is very adept when it comes to socializing with others. He is dependable and friendly with a cute persona; he comes off as someone who is weak but is trying their best . . . Still, even though he seems so open, no one really knows much about Kazumi. He has admirers and people he talk to regularly but he isn't close to them-- this is because Kazumi distances himself to an extent from others to keep them unaware of his facade.
  
  Very few people are aware of Kazumi's anti-social personality disorder; that he was diagnosed as a High-Functioning Sociopath. This is because of how Kazumi has learned to mimic the emotions of others and understand the people around him enough to appeal as a normal individual. Contrary to many misconceptions, Kazumi isn't some secret serial killer or out to destroy people, he simply just wants to survive like anyone else . . . He just doesn't feel bad if someone gets hurt while he takes a step forward. At a young age, Kazumi was taught how to function in society but he doesn't play along with this to be nice, this is simply since it's easier to get what he wants when no one is suspecting him of anything wrong.
  Even if Kazumi doesn't set out to destroy people on the daily, it isn't beyond him to use others around him to get what he wants. This can be as simple as making someone feel bad about buying the last melon bread just so he can have it, or be as major as starting a rumor to get a student out of the way to take a certain role. While he understands this is viewed as "bad" in society, he doesn't feel bad about it and it's perfectly natural. The relationships he maintains vary on how useful the people around him are and if he doesn't see someone as worth his time he'll put less effort into maintaining a relationship with them.
  
  This doesn't mean he can't have close relationships with people since even he can't truly feel anything for them he can still choose to like someone. The choice is a very important thing for Kazumi, and even if he does see himself as above everyone else he doesn't mind having a select few at his sides. He considers these people to be "Elites amongst sheep". These are the ones he actually makes an effort to be more human around them, but even that has its limits. In a way, he considers those Elites to be HIS property, and it is his right to have them at his side.
  
  One of the offsetting things about Kazumi is his narcissism that isn't too obvious and when it is, most people brush it off as Kazumi being silly. Kazumi views himself as above everyone around him and his high intellect only serves to prove his superior existence. Since he is leagues above everyone else, he feels that he is entitled to get what he wants. He should have that last Melon bread because a king should eat before the peasants. Again, Kazumi sees nothing wrong this and it just feels like the natural order of how things should be for him. This one of the many delusions he has, but because he doesn't let others get too close to him it isn't as noticeable. Currently, Kazumi is very flexible with what friend group he inhabits since he holds no real loyalty to anyone at this time. If another group seems to hold more power, he'll ditch whatever group his in without a second thought and slide right on in with those elites. Everything Ren does is in his best interests and if being around another group of people means he gets ahead then he'll do it-- that's just how survival works.

  Kazumi was born into a very powerful family due to their wealth and connections with certain political figures. His family running very successful businesses that split between medical practice and entertainment. His mother's half running an Agency for pop stars, while his father runs a company that provides top-quality equipment for hospitals. Even with their wealth and busy schedules, Kazumi was still raised in a loving environment with both parents managing their schedules around their son . . . which is why they immediately picked up on his odd behaviors. From an early age, Kazumi displayed a lack of empathy for others, a disregard of authority, a deceitful nature and when he got in trouble or was made to apologize it was clear he did not feel bad for any of the things he did . . . even if he hurt someone.
  
  There was something that was wrong with Kazumi, and his parents to get him help as soon as possible to prevent him from having any developmental issues. For a while, Fukuda's became nonexistent to the world, their presence lowered to the bare minimum as they tried to work things out in quiet since no one wants the fact they're doing family therapy to get out. That would just be bad for their reputation and they didn't need reporters trying to pry on the family business. Kazumi technically couldn't be officially diagnosed due to his age, but the signs were there and these family sessions were geared toward how to work around these problematic traits and being cautious of what examples were set for Kazumi.
  
  Kazumi's father never really accepted that as the issue and continued to try to find some reason for Kazumi being like this. He tried putting Kazumi in a better school (blaming the environment), gave him extra attention (blaming his work schedule), and got him into the piano (believed Kazumi needed something he could be passionate about to help him). All of this did nothing to change the situation and therapy sessions became more geared to help Kazumi blend into normal society. Even if he couldn't really feel what others felt, he could learn to recognize it.
  
  As Kazumi got older he became more adept to fitting in with others around him. His school life became more active and he wasn't having as many issues anymore. His father started to relax, feeling that Kazumi was perfectly normal and that it was just a phase . . . His mother, on the other hand, was more aware of Kazumi's condition since her sister was diagnosed with Anti-personality disorder. She still loved Kazumi but also understood he was wired differently and was more cautious of Kazumi's behavior. Oddly enough Kazumi considers her to be an "Elite" and his father is "Peasant" status since he is "too naive" with how much he can get out of his father who wholeheartedly believes Kazumi isn't the way he is.
  
  For someone displaying clear signs of Antisocial Personality Disorder, Kazumi has kept a pretty clean record. He learned very quickly which methods work and which ones doesn't . . . Of course, he doesn't live his life thinking about what he'll do to ruin someone else's day, he lives thinking about what he wants and what needs to happen for that to happen. For the most part, Kazumi's wants weren't too major and he didn't have to do much to get what he wanted. The only real major thing he has done was start some rumor about a classmate to get a position he could never hope to achieve on his own due to his classmate being more popular. Aside from that, Kazumi has lived a rather cushioned life, only really using people when he feels like he needs to and it isn't always for something major.

Fortunately for Eiichiro, he was born into a loving family in Japan. His mother was South Korean while his father was Japanese. His mother, father and older sister loved Eiichiro and supported him all his life. Their family wasn't particularly rich but they were able to handle themselves without help. His father and mother both worked office jobs with a good salary. Being the youngest of the family, Eiichiro was always adored by his family and family friends. He would get lots of attention and as a kid and he loved it. Eiichiro would spend lots of time playing with his older sister outside, they would take walks together and occasionally stay up at night together. His sister was Eiichiro's role model and he looked up to her. However when his sister graduated from elementary school and moved to high school, the two of them spent less and less time together as his sister became more and more busy. Eiichiro understood and respected her sister for being so diligent about her school work. With more time on his hands now, he had no choice but to make new friends. In hopes of making new friends, Eiichiro would approach anyone he sees and have conversations with them. Thankfully, it worked and he ended up having a lot of friends during elementary school. After his graduation, Eiichiro was moving on to high school by himself as none of his friends were going to the same school as him due to his family moving. Bio: Felix van de Corput has always had talent and potential from a young age, his father always teaching him along the way to never give up, stay dedicated, and to make sure he could get the most out of everything in life and so he did. As he grew up he began to develop a love for music just like his father, but not just any music, he loved EDM and liked to mix that style with many other genres of music. He was a creative mastermind and with the help of his father, he got a record deal as soon as he came out of middle school becoming a young prodigy as his father did before him. His mother was always around and when he wasn’t working on music she taught him to cook and how to make sure to care for everyone around him even his enemies because you never know who is bound to change in life and if they could be of use to you in the future and from then on Felix believed that friendship and connections were the most powerful tool anyone could harness.

At one point Felix went on tour going with the persona of C0rlix, he grew quickly on his tour and one of his tour spots was Japan, when he first arrived he was confused and nervous but as he managed to look up from his lost exploration of the country he came across a girl around the same age as him who nearly got hit by a car when trying to grab something off of the street, he quickly sprung into action dropping his map and other belongings to save her and he did so just barely but now he had no idea where to go as his map flew away in the wind. The girl thanked him and offered to help him get around and in return, he invited her to one of his concerts where they became close friends soon after. Her name was Mitsui Chiyoko but she always had him call her Chiyo when eventually they became close enough that he made his own nickname for her and began calling her Chi-Chi, Mi Mi, or combining the two as Michi. After his tour ended in Japan he stuck around to hang out with Chi-Chi living with her for a while before she told him of her interest in a school, he decided he would go with her so that they could continue their friendship and so that he could learn a bit more with music-making and continue the process of making new friends and this school and making connections. You never know who you could run into.

Relationships: Felix has a very close relationship with his dad who takes up the EDM persona Hardwell, he exploded as a producer at the young age of 14 getting record deals and pursuing his passion in the music-making industry, he quickly grew a fanbase and later in life decided to settle down a bit making a family with his lovely wife Felicia and pushing out singles every once in a while so that he had time to spend with his only son Felix. a snake, she's the embodiment of manipulation, using her looks to lure in guys to be in a relationship with her before breaking up with them after she's done with them. she also tries her best to get others to do whatever she wants. adding onto that, easily bored, she tends to spend her time with people she thinks will amuse or entertain her the best.

born out of wedlock, li hua's mother, a 19 y/o japanese college drop-out and her 23 y/o boyfriend decided to run away from home and start their own family without getting married. who needed help from their families? li hua's father, a man who moved seven months prior from china, worked as a shopkeeper in their neighbourhood while her mother started off as a part-time seamstress who struggled to help make ends meet. because li hua's father's work ethics weren't the best and because he was an alcoholic, he soon became jobless and li hua's mother had to work as the sole breadwinner.

five years into them raising li hua, her mother begin working as a sex worker while her boyfriend went out to get clients. after all, what they needed was to feed themselves and their burden of a child. as such, growing up, li hua would remember men walking into their home. most of the time, it was a lone man while on occasions, a group of them or several of them. they'd mostly ignore li hua as she complied to the strict instructions of staying in the laundry room whenever there were 'visitors' as their parents called them. li hua always knew when anyone were 'visitors'.

though she was never approached by these 'visitors', there would be rare occasions whereby she'd encounter a 'visitor' that would pat her head and called her cute or drunkenly ask her parents why they were hiding someone as cute as her. though, li hua never really remembered those moments because most memories of her parents that are in her head now were that of when they constantly argued and fought.

her mother would complain about not getting new things when she 'worked' hard as her father didn't need to do any of the 'work' while her father would argue they'd be paid more if her mother only 'worked' harder. because they still had to feed another mouth, li hua's, they emotionally abused her up until she was ten years old. they couldn't blame her for being born because it was their fault, nor could they blame her for being naughty as she grew up being a forced-obedient child. as such, the only way they attacked her was through her looks- through her inability to 'work' like her mother.

at the age of twelve, wang li hua became an acting trainee under a large entertainment company.

she debuted after two years of intensive training, as an actor under said entertainment company. she took up multiple supporting roles for movies, series and even music videos for smaller j-pop groups but her big break came when she played the teenage role for the main character of a romance-slice of life japanese drama series about a doctor and police officer.

after her big break, she starred as a main character in a thriller film. rising in popularity, she is currently starring in another romance series while she's studying.

Financially speaking, Mizuki's parents didn't have much to speak of. They did alright, got on decently enough. But when Mizuki was in elementary school, the modest company her father was running started failing. In his attempt to save it, he borrowed a lot of money, and at the end of it all, after the company ended up crashing and burning anyway, her father, and hence the family, was knee-deep in debt. Her mother, who had stopped working in the acting industry when Mizuki was born, picked up work again, but she could only occasionally get jobs as an extra, or in minor supporting roles. Her father, a proud man, started to distance the three of them from the rest of their family. Monthly reunions with their relatives dwindled to twice a year, and then sometimes once a year. Excuses were made, to avoid showing up to these meetings.

It was difficult for her father as well to get jobs, the poor management of his previous company being a stain on his record. But he managed to get a low-paying job at a startup. Together, her parents earned enough to feed the family, and keep them living in acceptable conditions. But they had definitely fallen far.

In junior high, around the time students started to think of their future plans, the path gradually became clear to Mizuki. She would take the scholarship exam for Yuugen. She would get in. Through whatever methods, she would fight her way up to the top, where the young elites of Japan stood. Then using the connections she would gain, she would secure a high-paying job not only for herself after she completed her studies, but also both her parents. Yes, the path was clear.

Her dedication to her goal was commendable. She passed the exam and interviews, and successfully got in as a scholarship student, with all on-campus expenses paid. On the first day of orientation, when the new students were given a couple of hours to explore the campus, instead of ogling the luxurious facilities, Mizuki observed the current students roaming around campus with intense focus. From what she gathered, those who started off at the bottom of the social hierachy were given barely any chances to rise to the top. Almost anyone who tried to move up were ruthlessly beaten down by a particular few at the top, both physically and figuratively. For a scholarship student like her, the odds of her making any meaningful connections were minuscule—unless she was willing to do whatever it took.

Going through a full makeover, as she did at the Avenue before the first day of school, wasn't going to be enough. When those 'in charge' of maintaining the status quo hunted her down in the first week, as she'd expected, she requested to only speak to the ones at the very top of the group. Curiosity piqued, she was brought to them, and it was then that she asked for a chance to join them, a chance to prove herself to them. One of the leaders then gave her a target: one of the other first-year students, a brash, outspoken boy whose mother had somehow offended the leader's father while doing business together. Put the boy into his place, and then they would see what to do with her.

With the same zeal she applied to anything else, Mizuki set to work. Within a mere week, the boy was reduced to a ghost of his former self, and transferred schools in the next week. No later retribution came either; she had clearly done the job cleanly enough.

To the confusion of many, Mizuki eventually but quickly gained favour with the elites, despite her status as a scholarship student. Her willingness to go to any length for them combined with her ruthlessness amused them, and were valuable enough to convince them to keep her.

Relationships: Amano Eiichiro ( L Libero ) is her paternal cousin. As kids, they were very close, frequently playing together, the two of them with Eiichiro's sister. In elementary school, when her family became more distant with their relatives, she tried to maintain contact with Eiichiro through texts. But time passes, and people change. They started to drift apart growing up, as people do sometimes, until they only made contact on the rare occasion that Mizuki's family showed up to their family reunions. Eiichiro has just started as a first year, one year under her, and she hates that he has to see what she has become. She also gets aggressive-passive more quickly when interacting with him, not being able to stand the thought of him looking down on her, or pitying her or anything of the sort. Mizuki also does her best to call as little attention to their relationship as cousins to a minimum—if her group ever decides to target him (which would be highly possible due to his family background and attention-grabbing outspokenness), she knows very well that they may pick her to do it if they knew that she was his cousin, just so that it would be even more entertaining. Currently taking film studies with queen bee Wang Li Hua ( Makomin ) and Eiichiro, she tries to be very careful.

Although to most of the student body, Mizuki appears to be in very good standing with the bullies, there is actually a very fine line she has to ride. She completely understands that she's disposable to them, and one toe out of line would trigger her fall, and in a way that she'd never be able to get up again. She hangs out with them often enough, usually known to be one of those in the upper echelons of the group. She's also fully familiar with Li Hua's ( Makomin ) true personality, having gotten close enough, although they're not as close as what people may imagine, and observed her as carefully as she observes anyone else.

The student body generally fears and/or dislikes Mizuki, with the lower tiers knowing her as one of the worst people you could offend (due to her having the backing of some of the top elites, and her own, well-known unforgiving personality), and the higher tiers being put out at how a scholarship student could be allowed to have so much influence. The ones who don't care as much about hierachy dislike her for her unsympathetic and unkind attitude.

Bio: Celia grew up in a little town in France with her parent Marise and Otoky. Her mother is a French lady whereas her father grew up in Japan. Due to her home situation she became distrusting towards other people and mostly relies on herself. She had to be the glue to hold the family together and one way she did that was by excelling in everything she did. Which made her parents proud, and for a moment the peace would return to the house.

Celia came into Yuugen using a scholarship. She is middle class girl and does not care about the social hierarchy. She is solely at Yuugen for the academics and will try to be the best in every class.

His mother struggled as a new mom juggling a toddler and an infant, but his father only had to work one job to support all four of them. Things took a turn when Haru was six years old. A distinct memory sticks in his mind, even to this day, of coming home to an empty house. He knew the route, since he'd been walking it for a few weeks since school started up, and could let himself in with the spare key, but being alone in a house that was usually noisy with the sounds of dinner being prepared and his little brother playing nearby, it rattled young Haru. Granted, there was simple food and snacks he knew he could eat if he were hungry, but he never felt so on edge before. Later that evening, his father came to get him - Haru's mom had been pregnant with an unplanned third child for a while, and had to be rushed to the hospital while he was at school. Haru's dad explained on the way that there had been complications, and that his new little sister was very sick. They might not be able to have the nice pork with dinner for a while.

Haru's sister's condition improved enough for her to go home, but her entire life she'd be plagued with hospital visits, in and out of emergency rooms and often times admitted into the hospital itself. No one truly knew what she had, her symptoms were all over the place, but nothing the doctors tried seemed to help much aside from alleviate her symptoms. Money for the hospital bills was covered by loans, but loans were quickly becoming an issue. Haru's dad took up a second job, and by the time his sister could get herself to school, his mom took up a part-time job at the local diner. They even had to sell their house and get a smaller, cheaper apartment, using what money they made from the sale to repay debt. Meanwhile, Haru's sister's condition worsened. His parents argued often when his sister was staying overnight in the hospital; his dad wanted to keep Haru's sister out of the hospital and take out another loan to get her to a specialist, whereas his mom wanted to keep going the way they were going, insisting her extra income would help them even out eventually.

A small glimmer of hope came in the form of a scholarship to Yuugen Academy. Haru was nearing the end of his middle school years, and knew that he'd either need to find a scholarship for high school or join the workforce to help ease his family's debt, so he'd applied for the scholarship and attended the interviews on a whim. Personality: Christian is generally reserved around people. Rather than being due to any antisociality or anxiety, he is simply self-conscious. He believes that others would perceive him as strange, dull, or unwelcome—or any combination of the three—so he does not tend to initiate conversations with others and bother inputting his opinion (no matter if it is relevant) in those of others. However, this does not mean that he would not reciprocate to others trying to converse with him, but rather he is always kind and sweet to those who bother to speak to him, his flat neutral expression exchanging for a deep smile when addressed, respectfully looking into the other's eyes, and he is always willing to assist those who ask him. Otherwise, he goes about his life by himself, which he does not really mind as it is all he believes he actually needs.

He does not like to offend others so he has trouble saying "no" to others, directly criticizing others, and is sure not to outwardly judge others no matter how eccentric, to them, he simply smiles and patiently talks to them as he would keeping his own personal opinion of them buried away in his mind. When his displeased with others for any reason, he does not become visibly upset but contains his emotions and maintains a calm appearance. When the cycle or being talked to and responding repeated on more than one occasion, he becomes more social and somewhat talkative with the person, initiating greetings, and may even joke a little. However, the thought of others not actually liking or wanting to spend time with him still lingers in the back of his mind, no matter how long one may have known him and actively spent time with him, and may sometimes return to his standoffish persona even with those who may have befriended him. He does not ever ask to hang out after class/school hours (for he may overstay his welcome by doing so), but will not reject an invitation (for they are showing that they like him enough to spend their downtime instead of just seeing him time when they must see him.) Any sign of ‘disinterest’ given off to him later on, having (seemingly) irritable (resting) face when he address them, providing lackluster response to what he may happily share with them, or simply not being greeting by them when passing by him just reaffirms in his mind that that friend now simplers no longer wants to be bothered by him. (However, to be fair, with his reserved nature he may not greet the other person either, in waiting for them initiate it instead.) Moreover, if his friends spend time with others apart from him while he is present, he feels rejected and feels it better to not disturb them as he is clearly not wanted if he was not invited over. Bio: Christian was born in Osaka, Japan as an only child. His father is an African-American expatriate, a US veteran and successful entrepreneur who founded and is head of a refurbished electronics company, and his mother is a Japanese doctor who operates in Osaka's leading hospitals. Christian has lived in Osaka all of his life while periodically travelling to visit his American family during the summer in Savannah, Georgia.

Christian was born when his father's company had secured and his mother was a reputable doctor so he lived an economically stable life growing up, and he was not very demanding, but all that he did ask for, his parents were able to provide. As a visibly 'hafu' child, he had some rough time with the children his age in school, but it was never too severe and he met nice people there that he was able to get along with. His love for taking pictures came when his father gave him a green Polaroid camera as a birthday gift for his 12th. Instead of playing other children, he tended g outside and enjoy the natural scenery during his leisure time and sometimes draw or read there. However, with the camera, he tried to imitate professional photos and take pictures of the sky, the gardens or cherry blossoms in Osaka, or the oak trees of Savannah, and from there his passion formed. His paternal grandmother scrapbooked family photos as a hobby and she recommended that Christian do the same with the pictures and drawings that he had shown her—it was a fun and relaxing way that he could compose all of his looked pictures. He still does this, but now also takes pictures on his phone and edits them to put them on his "aesthetic" personal Instagram page (rather than selfies of himself).

It was his parents who decided that he should attend Yuugen Academy, simply because they thought it was a good opportunity to go away to develop some independence while getting a quality learning experience. He was a bit hesitant at the idea of leaving initially, but he quickly became with okay with it. The school was fine and he liked the area, so he is not necessarily looking to leave.
