Gundam Watcher 27

A woman since 2024
To my buddies: BoltBeam BoltBeam Ammokkx Ammokkx Gravitational Force Gravitational Force Thawne Thawne Andrita Andrita LostHaven LostHaven

(If I forgot anyone, Tag them please)

New Domino City, Many years after Z-One's Defeat....

The city was full of life, people wandering about doing their own things and minding their own business. However, over at the duel academy is an entirely different story......

Duel monsters, A TCG created by Maximillion Pegasus. It slowly became a world wide phenomenon, part of many lives and many people play the game.

Here in the Duel Academy, we see two students prepare to duel during class break, specifically in a Turbo Duel.

Yukari, a female of the age 17, had her helmet on, and ready to take off on her version of the Yusei-Go - owned by Yusei, her father.

She looked at Axel ( Thawne Thawne ) and smiled. "Good luck I guess? After all, you'll be eating my dust if you aren't careful."

The field set to Speed World 2, as the other Academy students sat in the stands to watch.

Axel revved his duel runner, the runner his brother had been using during his time as a turbo duelist. His deck was primed and he was ready to go.

"Do you need a reminder about how good I am on this duel runner? Heh, looks like it's time for a reminder."

Raidriar Ainsworth
Somewhere on the street, because some rando challenged him to a duel.

"Pipsqueak, I will show you that I have what it takes to be the Pendulum Master! You can't possibly defeat my Apoquliphort Skybase!"

Raidriar yawned as some random guy raved on about how he would be defeated, and title of 'Pendulum Master' stripped of him. Truth be told, he didn't care whatsoever, and on a more pressing matter, Raidriar was attempting to comprehend the reasoning behind summoning 'Apoqliphort Skybase' instead of Towers. Didn't this idiot know he didn't have anything in his deck to beat over Apoqliphort Towers? HE EVEN HAD A DIABOLOS ON THE BOARD, WHICH WAS BIGGER THAN THE DAMNED SKYBASE.

"Yeah yeah, let's just get on with your climactic duel, or whatever, I have places to be."

"Don't speak to me like that, you insolent littl-"

"I attack your Apoqliphort Skybase with Darkest Diabolos, and then attack your life points directly with Ahrima and Amorphage Pride. Then, I activate Pendulum Switch to special summon Amorphage Sloth onto my field, and I attack you with it..."

"Th-that wasn't a Mirror Force?!"

"No, I don't run Mirror Force, lmao."

The random guy fell to his knees, while shouting into the sky. Raidriar looked around him, at the amassed crowd, who seemed way too into the whole duel as well. Like, who the hell screams after losing a card game? That's just a bit uncalled for. And who just dismisses that as normal? Sighing, Raidriar casually shoved his deck back into his blazer pocket.

"Fuck, I haven't even finished my essay..."

At times, he wondered if he should just drop all his subjects, and just study the normal things at Duel Academy (dueling). It wouldn't be the first time somebody's said something about him being a waste of a Pendulum Master because he didn't even take dueling seriously...

Being an expert in a certain technique is REALLY HARD. Even harder to maintain your title, and keep it all darn stable. At the moment, one such person is on a wander around the Duel Academy, having nothing to do. They looked to be female, on face value, but that's what they 'want' everyone to think, and as such, it has been known that they - the current Fusion Master - is... A bit of a weird person. He is what the people call a 'trap', people who are the reverse gender of what they dress to be. In his case, he looks like a girl, but is actually a guy.

His name was Rintarro, and as he wandered, he could just feel excitement and social exposure climb up his back and to his neck, trying to greet as many as possible to keep up this surprisingly effective disguise. He kept on a wander for quite some time, stopping to spectate the odd duel or two, and that's when he eventually came across the just-about-to-start Turbo Duel. He hadn't seen or experienced too much of what a Turbo Duel is, so he decided to stick around and see what it is.

"A Turbo Duel..." He said quietly, his voice full of fascination. He was eager to witness and see what it was like, but truth be told, he really didn't have any business being there. He just liked to wander around, stomp challengers who think they're good enough, and then wander around some more, all the while being seen as this harmless little girl. It was perfect. "I wonder how these duels play... I've heard so much about them, but not seen them in person... Time to watch..." He said, as he silently sank into the crowd, but before long, he is undoubtedly going to draw a lot of attention.

Yuki had mixed himself into the crowd long before the start of the showdown between Yukari and Axel, ever since rumors were starting to spread about how one challenged the other to a turbo duel. He had his tilted head rest in the palm of his hand, with the supporting arm's elbow finding support on his leg.

"How reckless of you, upperclassmen~! he cheerfully whispered to himself. Yuki hadn't been in the duel academy for very long, nor did he know a lot of people there, so he was going to take any chance to scout out the opposition. Still, the duo of duelists were still getting ready, so the sights weren't very interesting yet. This gave the boy ample reason to let his gaze drift and look around, spotting a new figure in the opening of the outdoor arena.

"Oh~? Miss, aren't you a little old for this school?" he continued to quietly mutter to himself. She began to climb up the stairwell to the stands herself and took a seat some ways away from the rest of the students. Yuki got up.

"Huh? Where are you going, Yuki?" he heard one of his classmates next to him ask.

"Ah, nothing... I'm just going to say hello to the nice lady over there," he replied with an insincere smile. After reassuring his fellow students, Yuki casually waded his way through the rest of the peanut gallery, though he did keep an eye on the ground below as well. Once there were no more legs to pass, he could see the entire field deform as the shockwave of Speed World 2 hit him and made his open uniform flutter a little. "Guess it's about to start," he mumbled to himself before continuing on his path.

"Ah, did you come to watch too, miss?!" Yuki excitedly asked the lady ( BoltBeam BoltBeam ) who had taken a seat among the students. "I'm super excited for this myself! I heard those two were really good!" he informed her, before taking a seat right next to. "Hey, hey, who do you think will win? Rumors say Yukari's, like, the daughter of Yusei, and Axel's got pro duelists in his family! I'm rooting for Axel," Yuki continued to ramble like an excited fan, before looking up expectantly into the lady's eyes, his own sparkling like stars in the nightsky.

"Oh? I-I honestly don't know." Rintarro responded as Yuki was met with bright pink eyes. Luckily, after plenty of time hiding his real self, he practically sounds like a legit girl at this point. "In all honesty, I've come to spectate one of these Duels... I've not seen them up close before, and have 'no idea' how they work, so... Here I am. I'm... kind of out of place, aren't I?" Rintarro let out a mischievous giggle, yet a happy one. "But yes. I 'did' come to watch. It's always fun to see what others are up to, learn from what you witness, and prepare to face it yourself... I wish I could say more, but I'm struggling to find the words to actually say to you..."

Rintarro sighed, taking a deep breath after all of those darned words that just flew out of his mouth, comfortably seated and preparing to watch. "Either way... A Duel is a Duel. Duelists who come from legends only have the reputation their parents have and have no room to be worse than them. Those in a family have much more room and time to breathe, grow, and develop. If I'm honest, I'd probably go for this Axel guy as well." He said after a while, relaxing in the seat he was in and eagerly awaiting the duel to start. Of course, he actually has 'no idea' who everyone else is. He's just trying to blend into this environment, and so far, so good.

Duel Academy | BoltBeam BoltBeam Ammokkx Ammokkx

"Damn, what's even gotten into my head..." Raidriar grumbled as he trudged along the schoolyard, complaining to himself. This was usually the time where people duel each other, usually ending in tears, salt, and taking each others' cards. He attempted to ignore the grumbling of his stomach- he hadn't been bothered to eat in a while, convincing himself he had more pressing matters than just eating. The real reason, however, was that he had lost his wallet and never found it ever again. Correction, he found it too much of a bother, as it'd had likely been taken by some other student, with all the cash emptied out. "I had a pretty rare card in there as well..." He groaned all the while imagining the money he could have sold the card for.

"It's fine... A human can survive a week without food..." He muttered, contemplating the option of selling his deck. That'd be cash for a long time, right? Or maybe he could sign every one of his cards and sell them individually? Weirdos would buy that, right? His thoughts were interrupted by sharp, annoying crying.

Turning his head, he was met with a girl bawling her eyes out, while some guy (who honestly looked like an utter asshole) took a deck of cards from the girl's hands, and went off cackling. "Fuck, seriously? We're like, ten minutes into class break..." His first instinct was to distance himself as far as possible to the shenanigans that were ensuing, yet for some inexplicable reason, he found himself approaching the girl, casually withdrawing a deck of cards from his pocket. "Don't lose this-" he muttered annoyedly as he threw the cards in her direction, scattering everywhere. Then, he began to stutter. "Uh.. I uh..." He suddenly realized that he had not the bloodiest idea of what to say next. In a spectator's point of view, it looked awfully like bullying. "Uh, bye, I think?" He murmured right before he sprinted off.

...

"FUCKMEWHATWASIDOINGHOWCANIJUSTTHROWTHATAWAYLIKETHATGODBLOODYDAMMITIMANIDIOTGODPLEASEKILLMENOW" An almost unintelligible string of curses boomed out from one of the bathroom cubicles, Raidriar screaming at his own stupidity while slamming his head against the door repetitively with what could only be described as a comical amount of force, while a few dumbfounded students watched as somebody was having some sort of suicidal fit in a cubicle.

"Is that guy alright?" He heard a student outside ask."

"Probably not."

"Should we help him?"

"Probably not..."

"... I don't even want to know what happened..."

"Probably lost a rare card or something..."

"Oh yeah, I heard Axel and Yukari are having a duel."

"Seriously? That's a must-watch! Why are we even here, then? Just leave the moron, we don't even know him!"

By the time the two students had dashed off to see this 'must see' duel, Raidriar had already quietened down, and accepted his most terrible fate. He was probably never getting his old deck back, now. There goes his money-making scheme...

"Yukari and Axel? May as well watch it..." He told himself dejectedly, eyes now devoid of youthful vigor. He opened the cubicle door, and slowly dragged himself behind the other students running to watch this event.

When he arrived at the stage, he noticed the stands were already crowded with people eager to watch the duel unfold. Well, to be completely fair, those two were celebrities in their own right. Eyeing the stands, Raidriar spotted a relatively empty stand near the top. As he neared an empty seat, he noticed a young student, and an older woman making predictions on the winner. Part of him wanted to join in, but maybe those two didn't appreciate eavesdroppers?

Screw it. His day couldn't get any worse anyway. Worst case scenario, he gets branded as a creep.

"It's too early to make guesses." He suddenly cut in their conversation. Here's hoping that they'd choose to ignore the steady stream of blood flowing down his forehead. "No matter how skilled you are, you can't change luck..." He gazed at the two on the stage, preparing to begin their duel. Seemed safe... Playing card games while driving a vehicle... "I have no idea how a turbo duel is supposed to work, but, are they going to duel on motorcycles?"

"From what it looks like 'and' what I've heard, I'm pretty sure they are." Rintarro said, not too startled. "I wish I knew more, but that's only the ground rules, I believe... Card games on motorcycles. Would you believe it?" He joked, laughing a little bit. "I mean, I suppose you're right about the whole prediction and skill thing, but hey. If we're wrong, we're wrong. We'll just learn to be a bit more thoughtful next time. Right? It's how we learn anything at all, from shortcomings." Rintarro yawned a little. There he goes again, spouting words out of his mouth. He kept a close eye on the Duel which was about to start, wanting to experience what it looks like from the outside.

"Wait, really?"

Yuki looked downright disappointed when the next person came in and chatted up both him and the stranger.

"How do neither of you know what a Turbo duel is? They've been around for ages. With the autopilot function, the forced break-slash-venting when you lose and Speed World as the shock dampener, they're super safe. Accidents only happen when someone decides to go manual mode with their duel runner," the boy explained in a dull, monotone voice. "And seriously? 'You can't change luck?' You can train your card drawing skills, you know... you've only got yourself to blame if you lose a duel. Luck has nothing to do with it."

Yuki rose from his seat and stretched out, casting only a brief glance towards the new person. He put on a smile for the lady, though.

"I'm gonna go back to my friends now... thanks for the talk, miss! I hope you have fun watching those two's duel," Yuki cheerfully gushed as he skipped back to his seat next to some of his classmates. They were saying something to Yuki, but it all sounded like white noise to him.

(Now, Yukari... show me what kind of dueling Yusei's daughter is all about.)

Rintarro had no idea who Yuki was, but waved him a 'goodbye, maybe see you again' as he wandered off. He then sighed and 'actually' got a moment to even breathe and chill out. Dude gets no breaks. He pulls out his deck from his bag and shuffled through it once or twice, then put it back. All the cards were face-down, so nothing could be seen of it, but it seemed to be a somewhat big deck. Not too big, not too small.

(Had been busy. Sorry)

Yukari smirked and said, "No need, I know how this works. First one around the corner goes first. Unlike the past when it was used, Duelists can now use regular spell cards instead of speed spells, but no field spell cards, and must have at least one speed counter to use any spells at all. Now let's do this!"

The light turned green as the two raced off. "I'm gonna kick it into High gear!" Yukari said as she used the boost to get ahead, and close to the turn.

(I'm so sorry for not responding earlier... Had my own RP to deal with along with a lot of other RPs to catch up on before this one)

Hana 'Muyuki' was seen heading to see the Turbo Duel. Maybe from here she would actually be able to learn how to duel with some form of confidence in her. She was amazed on the skill and confidence nearly everyone else had on her. However, she still wasn't exactly sure if she'd one day gain that confidence herself . She softly whispered " good luck..." .

A girl with a conductor gear , suit, and deck was also in the stands, and she just defeated another XYZ duelist prior to this, albeit finished him too early as she didn't want to miss a Turbo Duel from Fudo's Daughter. Hayla was just full of energy She waved at everyone in a friendly , and was shocked by who she saw in the stands. She mumurred " Isn't that... The Loser ? I thought she never came to these sort of events... Oh well " . She said, then decided to stop moving for a second to watch the duel with intensity. She then hollered " DO YOUR BEST YOU TWO "... The girl had a voice like a Megaphone if she ever needed it.

Watching a motorcycle duel? | BoltBeam BoltBeam

"???!!!" Raidriar gave Yuki a confounded look as he received a verbal thrashing of sorts from the kid. Sure, maybe he was completely uneducated when it came to this 'turbo duel', but now his head was filled with all forms of befuddling thoughts. "How do you 'practice card drawing'? Unless you stack your deck, there's literally no way to determine what you draw next! If anyone could just like, choose what they draw by practicing drawing, every single human on this planet would be using Exodia!" His words fell into the void beyond, however, as by the time they had come out of his mouth, Yuki had already left, but not before giving the woman a bright smile.

He was totally getting brushed aside, wasn't he?

Well, not that it wasn't uncommon. Compared to all the other flashy duelists with fancy decks, Raidriar was amount to nothing. It didn't make it better considering most of his plays were mundane and boring, unlike others who bring out all sorts of unstoppable monsters and make jaw-dropping combos. He briefly glanced at the woman next to him, who for some reason was shuffling her deck out of the blue. And for some reason, the boy noticed that her deck seemed a bit larger than what he'd usually seen. If he had to guess, around 50 cards, as opposed to the common 40-card deck. "I rarely see anybody with more than 40 cards in their decks..." Raidriar commented, "mind if I ask what type of deck you use?" Obviously, Raidriar was curious regarding the archetype the woman was playing. If duelists using decks that matched themselves were anything to go by, Raidriar would've guessed the woman would use something akin to Lunalight or Melodious... That said, some duelists seem pretty stingy when it came to revealing information on their own decks to random people.

"Ah. I think they're starting..."

Ezra Waller:
Ezra sat at his computer, about to embark on another heroic (in his mind) mission in cyberspace.

His opponent: the protections put in place on the private website of a group dealing in black market Duel Monsters cards.
His goal: to break in, discover whatever information he could and publish it so justice could be done.

His digital avatar appeared across from the protections. His avatar took the form of a dark robed figure wearing a mask with lights indicating emotions wielding a duel disk while the protections took the form of a giant robot. With a duel disk.

"Let's duel!"
LP Ezra 8000 Computer 8000

The robot made its moves silently, activating Dian Keto the Cure Master to increase its lifepoints by 1000 and then summoning Vorse Raider in attack position and placing two cards face down.

Ezra 8000/Computer 9000

"My move," Ezra drew the top card of his deck. This should work.

"I activate Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying your first face down card!"
Widespread Ruin bit the dust.

"Then I summon Kozmo Goodwitch in attack mode!"
564518
"And by activating Double Summon I can normal summon again. And I'll sacrifice her to bring out a 5 star monster. Here's Kozmo Delta Shuttle!"
564520
"And I'll use its effect to send Kozmo Dark Eclipser from my deck to my graveyard to lower your Vorse Raider's attack points by 900."
Vorse Raider's attack points fell to 1000.

Ezra's mask lit up green. "And why end it there? I activate Monster Reborn to bring Kozmo Dark Eclipser back to the field!"
565284

"And now to finish you off! I activate Limiter Removal, the last card in my hand. With it the attacks of all Machine type monsters on my field double!"

Ezra's monsters now had 4000 and 6000 attack points respectively.
His mask's eyes turned red. "Take them out!"
Ezra's Kozmo Dark Eclipser blasted Vorse Raider to bits, dropping the robot's lifepoints to 4000. His Kozmo Delta Shuttle finished them off.

Flashing a victory sign, Ezra's avatar ran to the terminal the robot was protecting and released the information.

Back at his desk, Ezra stretched and basked in his own awesomeness. Then he realized he had forgotten about the turbo duel happening today, grabbed his stuff, and ran to get to the field.

"I rarely see anybody with more than 40 cards in their decks..." Raidriar commented, "mind if I ask what type of deck you use?"
"Oh, my deck? Why, I use Fluffals! Aren't they just adorable?" Rintarro giggled again. Fluffals are an archetype of Fairy monsters that have their strengths in high numbers, and are a Fusion-focused deck type that covers 'three' archetypes - Fluffal, Edge Imp, and Frightfur cards. Edge Imps and Fluffals are abnormally used to summon the Frightfur Monsters, the real threats and the strongest monsters in the deck, all of which, sleep in the Extra Deck. They're not too bad if the Duelist using them gets bad cards in their hand, but when they have a sizeable field and/or something that will be sure to come, like several Frightfur monsters, hide.

Then, he noticed the Turbo Duel was/is/had starting/started (whichever words work), and sat up straight, heavily intent of keeping his eyes on all that goes on. The more he will learn, the more he can approach it again in the future. But what is known about them 'now' is they're not only a bit of a weird one hiding under a pretty damn good disguise (that nobody knows about), they walk and Duel with a Fusion-focused deck. Could they be the Fusion master everyone hasn't seen around here yet (in the Duel Academy)? That's one thing the disguise does maybe too well. Hides exactly who they are. But at the same time, is it a bad thing? It keeps Rintarro safe.

Turbo dueling was something Axel knew how to do and do well. He revved his engine as the light turned green and immediately took off going almost top speed. He sharply leaned his duel runner to maneuver on the inside lane of the dueling track in order to take the first turn swifter than Yukari could. She said he was going to eat her dust? He wasn't about to be upstaged by some girl who looked like she'd never ridden a duel runner before. He was confident he'd be able to win. He didn't exactly know how to win against a synchro user, but he would try the one true method of getting his boss monster on the field as soon as possible.

Yukari would activate the breaks, the Duel Runner turning sideways before it went past Axel and pull a 180 around the corner, before continuing onwards like normal. "Looks like I got the fist turn!" She said.

"Alright, I will start by summoning Cockadoodledoo to my field in defense!" A large chicken like monster appeared. "When summoned through his effect, it becomes level 3 if it's the only monster on the field! Next, I summon Speedroid Takentomborg since I have a WIND attribute monster on the field!" A Humanoid machine appeared. It had 600 ATK and was level 3.

"You can probably guess what I'm going to do right now!"

Axel was forced to watch as she overtook him from the outside, something he didn't think was possible. He had drilled that first turn take a hefty amount of times both before and after his brother passed. He hadn't been able to get up to his brother's time, of course, but he was getting closer and closer with every practice session. He ground his teeth behind the visor of his helmet as he drew his opening hand. It wasn't a bad start, but it could be better. He would've spat, but he didn't want to obscure his helmet's view and crash. That would be bad. He stretched his neck out to vent his frustrations as best he could before watching her turn unfold. Speed counters in a duel were mostly useless, considering his playstyle. He had a few spells off in reserve, but they were only to be used in the most extreme of cases. He watched her summon that tiny chicken, following it up with a tuner. Of course, as this girl used synchro monsters, he knew what she would do next.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. You're going to Synchro summon. Hurry it up," Axel groaned. He was slowly gaining up speed behind her.

(Yukari's Non-Ace Synchro Theme)

"I tune level three Taketomborg with my Level three Cockadoodledoo!" The chicken like monster transformed into three rings that Taketomborg flew through, before becoming enveloped in light. "Come forth, Hi-Speedroid Kendama!" A new monster left the light, resembling a metal rod with a ball at one end. It had 2200 ATK.

"Now I use Kendama's effect! By removing a Machine type from my Graveyard," Taketomborg's card slid out of the GY as Yukari held it up. "You take 500 points of damage! Go, Kendama strike!"

The monster shot the ball at Axel, towards his face more specifically.

Axel swerved to avoid getting smacked in the face. Even though these things were holograms, they still did pack quite a punch. However, whatever was shot at him struck behind him as his bike swerved, almost spinning out. He made a tch noise as his life points dropped by 500. He had a bad feeling about this turn. He regained control and pressed on, more annoyed than upset. He looked once again, briefly, to his cards before continuing on with the duel.

“Got any other presents for me?” he taunted.

"I will set two cards to end my turn!" Yukari said as the holograms of the facedowns she placed appeared behind her Kendama.

"Let's see what you got!"

Axel scoffed as he drew from his deck. Not a good start, but it was something. The plays were there, though not by much. He would be able to get something out on his field, at least.

“Let’s get this started then. I set the Pendulum Scales with Scale 1 Superheavy Samurai General Jade and Scale 8 Superheavy Samurai General Coral. Now, I’ll normal summon Superheavy Samurai Magnet into attack mode! With his effect, I can special summon a friend for him, so I bring out Superheavy Samurai Scales!”

Electricity beamed between the magnet’s prongs, shooting open a portal through which the Scales emerged. “But I’m not done there. Now with a Superheavy Samurai monster on the field, I can special summon my friend, the tuner monster Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!”

The tiny little monster popped up on the field next, spinning its trumpet around triumphantly.

“I believe you know what’s next.”

Axel smirked as he brought his cards all together for the main event. However, there was the issue of that back row he had to deal with before he brought the boss out. It would provide him some doubt on whether to synchro summon, but he pushed those thoughts aside for now.

"I tune my level two Trumpeter with my level four Magnet and Scales in order to synchro summon!"

The monsters all lined up before Trumpeter split apart, green rings overshadowing the two other monsters.

"Come out, level 10 Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!" Axel shouted, raising a hand as a bright flash of white light appeared, revealing the enormous monster. It spun around a warstaff larger than it was before sitting down in the air, flying next to his motorcycle in defense mode.
